Incredible gem of a store! I could fawn over the racks for hours. Pieces are of a wonderful quality, impeccable style, and shockingly reasonable price given that. I recently picked up the most adorable yellow skirt that's now a treasure of my wardrobe. I feel lucky to have this shop in my area!

Went vintage shopping with friends over the last weekend on a trip to Richmond. Really loves this cute vintage shop. Authentic gems with an owner who really knows her stuff. I got a beautiful pink dress here. And I’m still thinking about a coat I tried on but didn’t buy.

lovely store. bit pricey, but reasonable for a local establishment with high quality pieces, which are organized nicely by the friendly staff. i wear a size large and most of the clothes there were too small for me, but i did find a really nice jacket.

Extraordinarily expensive store, owner gives no room to negotiate (even with items that are defective/ ripped/ stained). Every time I go, I always leave empty handed.

As a man there was a high quality selection of upscale and genuine vintage jackets, suits, pants, vests, and hats. The best part is that it I'd at very affordable prices for quality that is easily worth 4 figures today off the rack at Nordstrom. There was an even larger selection for women and a friend had managed to buy his girlfriend an evening coat. Exactly the type of style I was looking for at surprisingly affordable prices. All pieces that I browsed was well maintained and looked and felt brand new even though they were up to 80yrs old!

The absolute BEST vintage pieces I have ever come across in perfect condition. Owner knows her stuff and will assist you with anything you could need while shopping, very accommodating. Truly a must see for vintage lovers

I went into this store today and loved it. The sales staff all greeted me warmly. They were not pushy or rude in any way. I found some great clothes from the 1950s/1960s era. They have such a big selection of dresses and skirts. I also purchased some beautiful original scarves. Then, I saw their jewelry. Oh my goodness! Beautiful! All of their clothing and jewelry were very very reasonably priced, when compared to online stores and Etsy stores. I cannot wait to wear all of the gorgeous things that I got there!! Just FYI, they do have two little dogs that are in the store, but they are good. I had my 8 month old godson and they only sniffed him once and left him alone. I LOVE this store. I hate that I live out of town! Thanks again Ladies!!!!

The selection of clothing here is excellent and they have very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I really want to love this place knowing how much I shopped here when it was run by the original owner, Connie. The long, gray haired woman who is usually there when I've been in always has a snobbish attitude, acts inconvenienced when I've asked about sizes (note: they don't do sizes, they do bust/waist sizing) and she's just downright cold and aloof. Despite buying something every time i've been in, the lack of grace & mere "thanks for stopping in" is completely absent from this woman.

The advertised rummage sale drew us in! It was a sidewalk sale and it looked promising. Sadly, we were disappointed when many of the items outside in bins and tables were broken or damaged. I saw a cool vintage dress in a bin with a broken zipper for $18. Really? And that was 75% off the original price. I was also interested in a cameo bracelet, it had a broken clasp - $3? No thanks... it should've been $1 since you'd have to go to a craft store and spend several bucks on the repair. I know it's vintage but if it needs repair, the price should be dirt cheap. Inside, while the shop was neatly arranged, it was expensive. I'm glad we popped by for a gander, but I can't see myself returning. For vintage/retro clothes and jewelry, try the thrift shops or goodwill. Check out the awesome mural in the side of the building!

Lot of really cute stuff for women and men. Most of it is for sized small people. Prices are expensive. Staff is friendly and helpful. Shop is small but clean. Take them your items. They may or may not buy them from you. They're pretty picky, which is not a bad thing.

I've been coming here for awhile since it's right across the street from my house and it's a treat! You can find vintage clothing in great condition for a fair price, take it home and breathe new life into it. Plus, no one else will be wearing it. The owner is personable and will be happy to help you find what you're looking for and more. She can give you great recommendations. You never know what you'll find and that's the fun!

Definitely a fan of the inventory- the shop is impeccably curated which is honestly nicer than digging through rack after rack of stuff in a larger store, and almost all of it is in excellent condition [vintage being what it is, sometimes stuff is worn or damaged, par for the course]. The prices are mostly pretty good, though they are still high enough you won't think you've stumbled into some sort of fantasy realm. The staff always seems a bit distracted while I'm in, though, and I'm not sure if it's timing or what. I thoroughly enjoy shopping here, however, and will ultimately likely give them pots of money. Their mural outside is probably also my favorite in the whole city, so...

Stumbled upon this place during my 1 day stop in Richmond on my way to Charleston. Beautiful pieces. One of the best selections of vintage I've seen in awhile. And the woman managing the store was such a sweetheart. We really appreciated her hospitality. Definitely worth a stop!

What a great place! Not only did they prioritize health and safety, they were also sweet as can be. They have an incredible collection of gorgeous vintage clothing and accessories and it was very reasonably priced as well. I went in on a whim just to browse and walked out with my new favorite accessory. The kindness of the staff as well as the very fair pricing makes this one of my new favorite places.

Halcyon is by far the best vintage store in the area, if not the country. Connie has curated the collection to perfection. It is impossible to stop in without buying something. The staff is so helpful and will answer any questions you have about different pieces, including good ways to style it in a way that is flattering and not dated. There is honestly no place like Halcyon. You can't help but smile after spending time there!

Amazing store! the owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and helped me to find the PERFECT outfit for halloween! prices are a little high for a costume but overall 10/10 I loved it!

I decided to try out halcyon on a whim, I was a little nervous, being new to that area of town, and overly excited that I might just find that 'one' gown to make my night. I was happy to see the great variety of items they had, and that they were priced incredibly reasonably! I don't often have the opportunity to say that in regards to shop priced vintage. (Never in fact, have I before) I should first off apologize to the shop keepers that day, I was new to the store, a little out of my element so I talked a little too much, and probably came off as strange. Anyway ... The amount of gowns they had and in such great condition surprised me (upwards of 20 some), I found a 50's gown (with pockets!) In wonderful shape that fit like a glove. There were a few dresses I tried that didn't fit, and at one point ( afraid of tearing sensitive brittle fabric) asked a shop girl to help me out of a dress. Literally. The sales women were exceedingly helpful, and kind, as well as tolerant to all of my questions. They were knowledgeable about any fabrics, jewelry, hats, furs and leathers. I was pumped to finally have someone to talk to about my pieces at home I was excited about. All in all I loved my experience here, I will most definitely be a regular spender.

This used to be the go to for fantastic vintage. The new owner however selects less beautiful pieces, slim pickings and her prices are extremely over priced. It's sad

I have to come right off the bat and say that you would be incredibly hard-pressed to find a staff that loves their business as much as the folks at Halcyon seem to. I'm not a shopper or a big garments person, but every time I've visited, I've left flat-out stoked about the history and latent potential of good clothing. It takes a very dedicated staff with a legitimate love for their products to get that kind of reaction out of me. Considering that all the items I've encountered in there are in "good" or better condition, the prices are incredibly reasonable. And if there is something you're looking for that you don't see, ASK. I have learned so many cool things from Connie just by asking if she's seen this-or-that or has an opinion on items I'm looking at. They will hold items for you, and if there's something really specific you're looking for, they will try to keep an eye out while they're out scouring for new inventory. Basically, if you need to go clothes shopping, you're willing to invest in classic, well-made items, and you're a fan of top-notch customer service, just do yourself a favor and make it a point to go to Halcyon.

Halcyon is a great vintage-shopping staple in the Fan. Owner Connie Caroll knows her stuff and fills her shop with a great selection of women's and men's pieces. Because I'm a sucker for vintage purses and jewelry, I often head to the back where there's a case filled with old baubles and usually some awesome tiny vintage handbags. The store isn't huge, but the items have all be carefully selected for their style and quality. Everything is in great condition. If you like vintage shopping, become a fan of the store on Facebook. I went a couple of weeks ago. But the experience was great. Customer service was wonderful. I put a dress on layaway, yes layaway! The vintage items are little more pricier then regular thrift stores, but it's worth the shop. I'll be picking my dress up soon and I'm so excited.

Walk the extra distance to come visit this shop from Cary St - it's worth it. I don't even like vintage stores, I'm just along for the ride with my wife, but this time it was me that found a great pair of white enamel insert cuff links for $14 and a legit 50's Hawaiian shirt for $32. Very nice staff, and no real junk in the shop, it's small and well curated, nice job by the ladies here.

A fine Richmond establishment, full of merriment, packed with an always changing and diverse assortment. I'm always searching for the ultimate vintage store, and Halycon is truly IT for me. Time and time again, I come back here, not only for gifts and that amazing dress or heirloom necklace (that will without a doubt be with me for life.) You will feel right at home!

This place rules. I've been looking for a nice vintage suit for a while. While they always have plenty of great stuff in stock, I've yet to find the right one in my size but the folks are friendly and the merchandise is very well curated.

This cute and eclectic boutique is absolutely a hidden gem! The place is fairly small but the unique, trendy and quality selection is not! I was visiting RVA for the first time and my friend who is a local said I would love this place and sure enough we both made purchases. I bought a pair of 70's era vintage polyurethane sunglasses..... THAT WERE BRAND NEW IN THE PLASTIC FOR ONLY $12! The wonderful, extremely kind and knowledgeable store associate (I wish I would have asked her what name was, she could of owned place for all I know) told me a fascinating story about how this stock pile of 40+ year old glasses were found unopened in a decrepit building. If you are looking for anything from a vintage mens sport coat to vintage turquoise jewelry, it's a lot to see at great prices. Halcyon is worth a visit!

What I love about Halcyon: --first things first, can you beat this name for a vintage shop? don't think so --staff: everyone who works here, especially the owner, is delightful, friendly, helpful, informative. --staff offers honest feedback: I appreciate that when they say something flatters you, you know it does --price is fair for this high level of quality --jewelry is phenomenal. they have some deadstock 20s egyptian revival pieces that make me SOB over the fact I have a metal allergy. Thank goodness for the gorgeous glass bohemian pieces I can wear --clothing selection is GREAT! Once they had an entire wardrobe of a 70s groupie including leather short short 2-piece looks including one worn in the presence of Jimmy Page!!! --Connie and other staff often have specific and great backstories for provenance/history of pieces. --if you have high quality vintage to sell, they offer fair prices --clean garments with either no damage or properly mended --fun variety ; you can always find at least one thing that makes you smile, if not dozens --cute location

I got a great cashmere cropped cardigan with a fur collar here for a great price. I'd definitely return if I lived around RVA.

I love love love this place! They have so many great finds, and lovely vintage items that are all in great shape. I needed a new dress each year for the last few years (between military balls and weddings) and have found the perfect dress here each time. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Theres really nothing to complain about. For sure would suggest whether you are browsing, or searching for that special gift or item for yourself. You cant go wrong!

This company literally just stole my money, I had a beautiful piece on layaway, called in to be told the piece was re-sold and just got off the phone with the ridiculous owner who is refusing to refund me as she claims I signed something stating I had a month. I didn't SIGN ANYTHING and specifically asked when the payment was due and the owner assured me I had nothing to worry about as long as payments were made. This is the biggest scam ever as I was NEVER even called or reminded that a "deadline" was put in place. This is heart breaking because I'd been a supporter of this company for years and was extremely excited about purchasing this piece. DO NOT SHOP HERE. -- and if you guys could of heard the amount of white privilege being implemented on the phone just now....I paid for 75% of the price the item was listed for ALREADY. Rude, Disrespectful, heinous and absolute SCAMMERS - never again.

Used to go here all the time when I lived in Richmond. Glad to see it is still around and doing well. There is a lot of competition in the area for vintage clothes but Halcyon is the place to go if you want gorgeous, quality pieces that won't break the bank, or the college budget for you VCU'ers. The customer service was great, something I even appreciated only being 18 at the time. I should plan a drive soon to RVA and stop in for sure!

Not only are the clothes in excellent condition and affordable, but they are unique and authentic! The staff and owner truly cares about what they do and show it by giving big smiles to each customer! I know there are some vintage stores that have been around for a long time... But I feel that they are constantly putting a new spin on vintage! Now... If only I could spend my whole paycheck there... Oh if only!

Such an amazing experience! This place is truly a gem! The owner and staff is so helpful and sweet! I will be a customer for life! They went above and beyond to help me with picking out a dress for my upcoming wedding day. Did I mention they have layaway, how great is that? All the items are hand selected, and cared for.

Halcyon is a great vintage boutique and definitely in my top 10 places to shop in Richmond. Good selection and fair pricing with a comfortable atmosphere. The staff their are friendly and informed. One of those rare vintage store gems that will inspire those new to vintage, and renew the love for those who may have gotten caught up in the hum drum and been away from vintage far too long. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Connie knows her business and relies on the excellent skills and obvious love of vintage her teams brings to the table. Great great shop.

I don't know how this place isn't rated #1 in Richmond, this is the vintage store I compare all others to:LA to New York. Every single time I wear something from Halycon I get complements on it and use it as an excuse to rave about this store. I've been shopping here since high school (over 10 years, yikes!) and Connie always has an ah.maz.ing collection of clothes, accesories and shoes at more than reasonable prices. Everytime I'm in town (haven't lived in Richmond for years and years), this place is always on my list of stops, sometimes before family and friends. I really can't say enough good things about Halycon...

I had a wonderful experience today at this vintage shop! I told Lisa what I was looking for (Downton Abbey Preview Party) and my size and she pulled 3 dresses for me to try. She was attentive, followed up with me from the other side of the curtain in the dressing room, told me the truth about how each looked and came up with alternative styling options! One of the best customer service experiences I've had since moving here. She even suggested an accessory that I could buy and make from Joann's Fabric. She also told me about how I could get more use (combinations and such) out of each piece. I was really impressed AND she was no pressure. I can't wait to go back to start buying 60's and 70's shift dresses for the summer!! As far as customer service and attentiveness, this was by far the better of the 2 vintage shops I visited in the same day. :-)

First let me begin by saying they have a gorgeous selection. I walked into the shop thirty minutes before close, looking for something beautiful, classy and unique for my upcoming business launch party. The owner took one look at me and handed me an outfit to try. It fit like it was tailor-made for me and she paired it with a beautiful fur stole. They stayed open at least an extra thirty minutes to make sure my needs were met. That kind of customer service is hard to come by these days. I think I have a new favorite store! The staff were very knowledgeable in vintage items and fairly priced. I'd recommend Halcyon to anyone looking for that special something you won't find anywhere else. The name alone says it all, Halcyon =heavenly!

This is a wonderful store!!! It has been my all time favorite for several years now. If you are looking for a fun array of vintage items that are priced fairly, this is the place. The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. Finally, their semi annual sidewalk sales are a must!

This is the best vintage store in Richmond! I shop vintage in San Francisco, LA and New York and Halcyon is definitely comparable! They carry a great, curated selection of clothing jewelry and accessories in good/very good condition and at reasonable prices. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgable, fun place to shop and I always look forward to seeing what's new.

I've been coming to this store since I was 15 years old, so it has now been my favorite store for over a decade! Sometimes you go in and it's just one piece that calls you, but even the one find is always a great find. I've been all over the world now and I feel confident saying that this is the best vintage store - both in selection and more importantly in value. Plus the owner and all the ladies who work there are wonderful. They are passionate and knowledgable about vintage and they're great at pulling pieces you may never have picked for yourself, but end up absolutely loving! Best. Vintage. Store. Anywhere.

Glad I found this little vintage gem. You know it's a good sign when you walk in and you're greeted by that "old" smell! Great collection of women's (and men's) clothing from the 1940s/50s-1980s. Moderate to pricey. Small, but great items. Very friendly staff. I'd go back! I love vintage!
