Hald Bed and Breakfast

The place reminded me of an orphanage I worked on in Belarus, many years ago. It is very basic and has a dormitory feel to it.||The accommodation is basic. The shower was not great but it was a need for the night and this was all that we needed.||Breakfast was a goodie bag with a roll, fruit, yoghurt and a drink - which was really handy for it early start and so served as lunch as well.

Booked on the road and stayed for one night. Nice but simple rooms at a low price. Main building is very cozy and beautiful. TV- and fireplace-lounges in great historic style. Staff is very polite and helpful. Non-alcohol policy does not seem to be strictly enforced.

Hald pensjonat is one of the more inexpensive picks in Mandal, but you have to pay extra for bedlinen and breakfast, which adds up fast! The rooms are very simple and have a certain GDR-charm. We asked to move the beds together, but they stood apart, when we came to the room. When going to bed, we found out why: two of the legs of one bed simple broke away. ||The breakfast tasted great though! Just don't expect a buffet, but more a bag with your name in the fridge.

We were welcomed by a really serviceminded guy! Brought our own food which we prepared in the kitchen. Refridgerator in the kitchen. Shower and toilet in our room. Free parking and Wi-Fi. Took a nice stroll downtown, 15 min walk.

Good pricing, great rooms, and a magnificent old house in the middle with a beautiful garden outside. Room quality varies with the price but even the complete lowest quality rooms aren't super bad. I would personally suggest using the rooms only for sleep and use the main building as a general lace to drink tea and relax. Truly a great place for a cheap price!

The price for overnight stay does not include breakfast, towels and linens. The floors and the shower could have been cleaner with little effort. The B&B is also located next to the main road. But the place is ok for one night stay.

A good place to stay where you will get much for the money. Also very good service from the person who received us and helped us very much. ||It is hard to find other places like this in the Mandal Kristiansand area.

It was lovely staying in such a large historic building.Staff were very friendly and everything promised was done. Excellent accommodation for the money.
