Wow! This place was spectacular! The views made us feel like we were in a movie! The service was top notch. We got there about 6 and asked for a table on the balcony we were seated 30 minutes later! While you wait you can stroll through the rainforest! How magical! The food was too die for and they know how to make some good drinks! It was on the pricier side but that was expected. We will for sure come back if we visit again ♥️

Beautiful location and premises. Great cocktails. Food is solid. Fish specials are superb. Clam chowder was fantastic - and my family is from New England. Service is always excellent. Opportunties: Ahi appetizer was overly thin and small. Top sirloin was underwhelming. Leaving room for dessert is challenging but well worth it. Colin took care of us masterfully this visit and previously. I’m 63 and can appreciate how superior service contributes to an amazing experience. Tim - please recognize Colin. In summary: do not miss this excellent establishment and its beautiful gardens. It’s truly unique and don’t you deserve it?!?

Definitely a great place for dinner. The service was friendly and attentive. It was crowded and we waited 1hour 45 minutes but totally worth it. There's a pond on the premises with a gazebo for great pictures while waiting. The food was fantastic. We got the primerib which was enormous and cooked perfectly. The raw and creamy horseradish were perfect. The scoop of mashed potato was so creamy and tasty. This is unheard of for 79$. Please don't change. Also got the Cesar salad which was fresh and dressing was spot on. Also got the seafood chowder whis was perfect consistency and had chunks of flavorful fish and clams. Overall a perfect dinner! This is a must do while in Oahu.

We spent the day traveling Oahu by car, driving along the coast to Halewia Joe's. It took quite a bit of time on a one lane road and we got there around 7. Now in all fairness I emailed the restaurant before our trip seeing as we'd be there for Valentine's and they don't do reservations. And they did say it would be super packed. But the wait time was pretty bad. We didn't get seated until 10, about 3 hours. People were wating around inside and outside all night. There was even an elderly couple that waited longer than us. They could have offered them a complementary drink or snack. After an hour and a half we snagged a table in the waiting area and just got 2 appetizers and some drinks. When we were finally seated we were both kinda of sleepy and exhausted and we didn't finish our meals. Overall the food was fine but worth 3 hours? No. I got the prime rib luckily as they literally had 2 left. But the staff were friendly and they really had to work hard to accommodate so many diners. I think it would be better to have a reservation system. So overall it's worth the stop for a local eatery but probably not for a special occasion unless you get there super early

Came 20 min before opening and was seated around 30 min after opening. Was able to order apps and drinks after joining the waitlist though! My friends and I ordered the Thai calamari, calamari fries, prime rib, mauka makai, and grilled fish. The calamari fries and grilled fish were my fave! The prime rib order was HUGE - we shared 1 portion amongst 2 people and only finished about half. I thought the prime rib was a bit too thick and chewy, but the flavor was still good. The mangorita drink was my fave! The lilikoi creme brulee and baby cake were both delicious. Our server was so kind and accommodating. Great ambience here, and the price was very fair considering the large portion sizes

Second time here. If you want to get a table right away you gotta get there at 3:30pm (earlier is better) for once the restaurant is full the wait time skyrockets. But you can always look at the gardens below which is stunning 😍. Once you get a table the food doesn't take too long to come out and the portions are generous. My family each ordered something different and EVERYTHING was good. And I mean EVERYTHING, its not like some restaurant where only some of of the dishes are good and some are meh (or bad). Would definitely come back again.

They don't take reservations, so we had to wait about a half hour to be seated. The service was good, I only say that because the server forgot a couple of items. Maybe that was a good thing since there was so much food. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered. The prime rib is huge. The New York steak with the bourbon finish was flavorful. We were so full after dessert. Will be going again for sure.

What an amazing experience. We came early because they don't take reservations. Got here at 3:20 on a Saturday because they open at 4. We were seated in the first group as soon as they opened. Ambience and scenery is amazing! Service top notch and the food was exquisite! I had the pork Loin special and the wife had the grilled blue marlin special. Perfect cook on both. Cocktails were great. I will definitely be back for the prime rib. The price turned me off at $74.95 until I saw it come out. The cut is between 2 and 3 pounds per serving! It was enormous! The restaurant is about a half hour drive from Honolulu, so very pleasant experience all around. Don't sleep on this one!

Okay, I'll admit it I found this place on TikTok while planning my birthday and knew I wanted a spot with a view and a solid steak. We arrived right at opening (4PM on a Saturday), and there was already a sizable line. We mentally prepared for a 2-hour wait but were seated in just 30 minutes. Not bad! While we waited, we explored the botanical area - immaculate, simply breathhhtaking. I couldn't believe I got to see all my houseplants in the wild. LOL Onto the important part: the food. They started us off with complimentary bread and butter, but I'd honestly skip it - tasted like undercooked bread. We went a little overboard on appetizers since we planned to share the prime rib as our main. No regrets though. * Coconut Shrimp - 10/10. Perfectly crispy, great batter and great bite to the shrimp. * Sizzling Mushrooms - Also 10/10. Rich, buttery, and paired beautifully with the Prime Rib. * Crispy Brussels Sprouts - 10/10. Drenched in bacon and macadamia nuts, but hey, that still counts as vegetables, right? Texture and flavor were on point. * Escargot - 9/10. Buried in Parmesan and surprisingly a favorite. Just man up and try the snails. Now the star of the show: the PRIME RIB. This thing had to be at least 2kg. Juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. We were slightly panicking at the portion size, but enjoyed every bite we could manage. Honestly, one of the better prime ribs I've had - worth the hype. Ambiance & service: It's more laid-back than fancy, but that's the Hawaiian vibe. Service was efficient but not super warm definitely more transactional than personal. Don't come expecting white-glove treatment; come to chill and enjoy the island atmosphere. If only we had been there at sunset...that would've been the cherry on top. Totally worth the visit. The views speak for themselves, and the food more than holds its own. Would absolutely come back if we're ever back on Oahu - maybe next time for golden hour.

First time back after many years away on the mainland. Wifey's birthday , so a perfect place to celebrate.Got there about 3:30 pm for their 4pm opening. Line was at least 50 people deep. When we got to the reception desk, we missed the first seating, so our wait was another 30 mins. They texted us after about 20mins, good time to get a cocktail & relax in their waiting area. Got called & seated in an inside booth. Place was busy! Hunter S was our server, very professional & friendly. We wanted the med rare Prime Rib & Chicken Cesar's salad to share & had the Ahi Tuna rolls as an appetizer. Appetizer came out first, than the salad& Perfectly slow cooked med rare Prime rib. Huge piece of meat !!! Excellent! The meal was just right for the 3 of us, could not handle dessert.The setting is perfect & beautiful for any occasion . A nice dining experience

We got to the restaurant about 15 minutes before opening and waited about 45 minutes. The view is stunning with lush gardens and a beautiful pond. Definitely the highlight of the visit. We ordered the crab dip, Brussels sprouts, and calamari. All were just okay. I had the roasted chicken, which was juicy. I also really liked the sauce it was paired with. Service was good, but for the price, the food didn't quite impress. Worth it for the setting but not a must-return for me.

We enjoyed some amazing food.... Baked fish... salmon.... And of course the prime rib.... Service was amazing..... I loved it....My kids and grandkids did too!

A piece of Hawaii built into a restaurant. You feel like you're in the heart of a Hawaiian village. The surrounding view is amazing. We would recommend reservations, if you can make them. We didn't do this and were advised of the possible 2 1/2 hour wait. Since we were already there, we decided to wait (glad we did). We walked their path down to the scenic area. There, you begin with a pond and trails to take. We took them all and made our way through them slowly. When we arrived, the sun was about to set in another 30 minutes. About halfway through, the sun set. Our only light was from the restaurant above and some light where the path began. We loved this, since it made us feel like we were in the middle of Jurassic Park (without dinosaurs ). Once we were back at the restaurant, we spent time at the bar and ordered two hors d'oeuvre's and cocktails. The ceviche wasn't a traditional Mexican style; however, it was very tasty. The Thai fried calamari was packed with flavor. We received our text that our table was ready. It had only taken about an hour and 20 minutes. After checking back in with the hostess, we were taken to our table. The waiter was very helpful with the menu and answered all of our questions about it. Once we ordered, the food was fast to come out. Their salad was good and the haiku chicken had a lot of flavor. I was impressed that the dish seemed small but ended up being more than enough. If you're looking to experience a tropical piece of hidden Hawaii, without venturing into the wilderness, stop on by!

Disappointing Experience at Haleiwa Joe's! Not Worth the Hype!! We visited Haleiwa Joe's at the Haiku Gardens in Hawaii for my uncle's 60th birthday, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. We waited 4 hours to be seated, and by the time we finally got a table, the only thing my uncle had been looking forward to was the prime rib & it was sold out. That alone was a huge letdown. The food we ended up ordering was just average at best, and certainly not worth the long wait or the high prices. The highlight of my entire meal was my Li Hing Mui margarita, which was delicious... & unfortunately, the only standout of the evening. The Haiku Gardens were beautiful, but by the time we were seated, it was pitch black outside, and we couldn't enjoy any of the view. If you do plan to go, I highly recommend making a reservation early in the day so you can enjoy the scenery and actually have access to the menu items they're known for. Service was another issue!! we constantly had to get up to ask for water refills or things we needed to enjoy our meal. The staff seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, which only added to the disappointment. Overall, this place might be worth it if you can snag a reservation or a table early enough in the day so you can get the full experience, but based on our visit, I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion!! Especially if you're expecting great food and service to match the long wait.

Views are exceptional. We came around 4:30 and waited for almost two hours. I did request for a seating area near the rail so that we had great perfect views. Food was hit or miss. The bread sucked with the guava butter. The guava butter unfortunately needs more guava in it. The entrees was great and fresh! My most favorite thing I had was honestly my virgin Lime in Da Coconut drink. That drink is probably the main reason I would go back here and of course the views. Overall the food just needed a little more sauce or a little more salt and it would have been amazing! The service is great, our waitress was extremely nice. The parking lot is big but lots of people so you'll have to play roulette for a little bit.

We arrived around 7ish the wait was 45 mins. We spent that time walking the garden. It's so nice a few memorial spots lots of trees and lots to look at. This made the wait seem so fast! After carefully reading the reviews I was careful with my picks. The grilled fish was the highlight and best dish of the night. I can't remember the name of the fish I do know it's locally caught. A white fish topped with pesto and carrots! On a bed of mashed potatoes that laid in a lobster sauce. That entire dish SUPERB! 5/5 for sure! Easy! Sizzling mushrooms the addition of cheese took these from ordinary to extraordinary! 5/5! Pork chop was thick and juicy I would assume it was cooked to perfection my sister and her partner demolished it. I had to look over to make sure they were breathing. I did try a piece, I haven't ate a pork chop in a very long time. It was juicy and nicely seasoned . Spinach salad very clean eating, the red onions gives it a nice crunchy pop! It wasn't drowning in a dressing just a little complimentary touch. I would recommend this restaurant

I am absolutely shocked I have not reviewed this restaurant yet. It is an absolute must visit for the prime rib dinner and the views. We come about 1 hour before opening to queue in line. This ensures we get an amazing table with views of the mountains and gardens below. The prime rib is massive and has become more expensive over the years due to inflation but it is a showstopper and well worth the experience. Great service. Island casual. Good parking if you come early. Please come and create your own adventure.

Visited here last Friday for an appetizers and drinks for dinner. This is such a wonderful place to visit!! We are in the Var area and were served by a super nice young lady. She was awesome and personable, the ambiance of the bar area is so inviting! We ordered a ton of appetizers and enjoyed each and everyone! This place is so wonderful to visit and enjoy a wonderfully delicious meal !

Location, location, location what a beautiful place to have dinner with a few of the ocean Services outstanding menu can't go wrong Pork chop cooked perfectly, had a miso kind of kick to it with the chipotle Shrimp were outstanding they did not skimp on the portion If you like Hawaiian ribs go for it, but if I were going to order it again, I would choose either the prime rib or the New York strip As for the desserts that macadamia nut ice cream is the best thing on the menu.

This spot has been on my bucket list for awhile as it opened after I graduated h.s. and moved to the mainland. This week's visit home prompted me to rally my parents to join me on a Wednesday night to give it a shot. We arrived at 6:15pm and for a party of 3 we timed it at 90 minute wait for a table. By chance, we wandered into the bar area and secured 2 seats at the bar, then after the first round, realized that the tables in that area are first come, first served, which was a nice surprise. The bar menu is a bit different than the dining room one (no mains, offerings like prime rib sandwich instead of prime rib dish) but overall, experience I think is comparable. (I did see someone eating a prime rib at the bar, towards the end of the night tho!) The staff was AWESOME. Immediately I clocked this is definitely a local crew- and vibe kind of reminds me of Duke's with local vibes, mixed crowd - our server told us about 60% tourists, 40% locals, which tracked. Staff was so kind about us moving to a bar table- transferring our tab, seamless exchange between bartenders/servers, etc. Give it to MAILE who we ended with and was just the sweetest. Solid service that felt truly authentic, and my parents (who aren't used to being seated in the bar area) felt at ease as well thanks to her warm energy and attention. Yes, the VIEWS there are something else. Even if you don't get seated right by the railing, you can take a stroll with your drink and snap a few choice shots, just be mindful not to get in the way of the servers doing their job. Food was decent- not mind-blowing, but hit the spot and served up the flavors we were seeking to go with the overall vibe... and our cocktails.

Prime rib is amazing!!!! You have to come early as the lines do get pretty long. Beautiful view of the Haiku Gardens!

Summer night. Arrived around 7:30pm. Seated within 35 minutes. Service was great. Food was excellent. Forgot how warm it gets. Dress casual and cool. Bring light sweater in case. Appetizers are always a winnah. Poke was fresh. Love the calamari. Steak was little overcooked. Fish was extra crispy. Dessert were not too sweet. More refreshing. Great Anniversary dinner.

I was eager to come here for one thing and one thing onky and that was the prime rib. We walked in with no reservation on a Tues around 4:40pm. The staff welcomed us and told us it would be about an hour to hour and half wait which were okay with. They had us seated on the side and ordered appetizers and drinks while we waited. We started off with the crab dip, ceviche, and fried calamari along with a mangoito. The drink was refreshing after a long daybat the beach, and the 3 appetizers were good, although the dip for the calamari didn't really taste good. After about an hour we got seated which was actually pretty fast. We ordered the prime rib, sticky ribs, and calamari fries to share amongst 3 people. The prime rib satisfied my craving and would definitely order again. The sticky ribs on the other had I could pass, I felt like it has a hoisin sauce taste to it and it overwhelmed the dish. The calamari fries I did not like because they were soggy (not crispy) I guess that's how it's supposed to be. Also the men's bathroom was also flooded, hopefully that was water and not urine. The service was top notch, our waitress Dasia was awesome and was very helpful. Which made the experience welcoming and great. Overall the place is beautiful with stunning views of the mountains, food is great and reasonably priced. I would return again.

Looking for a delicious and romantic date night? Look no further! This place is tucked away in a little residential area by the botanical garden. They are only open 4-9pm and DO NOT take reservations so if you want a front row spot to the garden come about 45 mins early to wait in line. There was a huge line by the time they opened at 4. The view is absolutely STUNNING. All their food was fresh and delicious... the star was the coconut shrimp and warm crab dip. We had several drinks but by far my favorite was the "Lime in da coconut". They also offer complimentary bread for the table. A MUST for a nice dinner on your O'ahu vacation.

Haleiwa Joe's is definitely an experience worth checking out at least once ir maybe even more depending on your preference/vibe. The garden setting is absolutely stunning, and the views are just breathtaking. I'll post some of the flowers and plant pictures i found interesting. The food is a solid 10 for us, i usually give five star review because I go to the restaurant and I review them defending on their vibe,food and mostly the people representing the establishment. We tried the famous prime rib, and while it's tasty, it's huge--I couldn't even finish it! We also had the Thai fried calamari and a small clam chowder, which was a nice appetizer. The sauce was slightly sweet and paired well with the crispy texture. The sea view salad was pretty good too, also on the semi-sweet side. Let's not forget the last dish we ordered ,we went with the baked fish--simple, but flavorful. Heads up: most people aren't kidding when they say to get there early. If you're not there by 4:30, expect a bit of a wait. To end things on a sweet note, we shared the Paradise Pie. It was semi-sweet and rich, but that chocolate sauce really tied it all together. Overall, a memorable spot--worth the trip for the atmosphere alone.

Came here about a month ago with my family and the service was great! We arrived well before they opened and the line was already pretty long but we got in first seating thankfully. Dinner is good but the dessert is the main event for me lol! After our meal we of course walked around outside to take pics and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Always a nice time here!

Jesse bartender & Joseph barback were both very attentive. I had my order taken and my prime rib came out quickly! Joseph was particularly on top of things. (Noticed a crack on my water glass that wasn't visible from my angel) enjoyed a bit of my meal and it looks like it may be 3 meals for me which actually makes it a bit of a bargain. The views were great so many people waiting for a table. - my advice have dinner at the bar. Love this place

They do not take reservations. Unless you want to wait 1hr for a table, arrive a little before 4pm. But if you do have to wait for a table, walk down to the garden and take photos of the beautiful lush scenery. The garden is close after sunset so arrive before if that is apart of your agenda. Food is always amazing. I recommend any of the fish dishes. My favorite is the baked fish. The prime rib is gigantic and could probably be shared by 2 people. Drinks are ok. Servers are attentive.

haleiwa joe's was my all time favorite meal in o'ahu. from food to ambiance and service, everything was perfect ~Food~ thai fried calamari: 9/10 crispy with tangy sauce the wedge: 10/10 classic wedge salad potatoes confit: 10/10 the sun dried tomato aoli was the best aioli i've ever had. we used this soil to eat with other dishes prime rib: 10/10 perfectly cooked medium rare and the portion was so large we took half of it to go ~Service: amazing service ~Cost: ~$20-40 for most dishes. well worth the price ~Parking: free parking lot on site

This place is super freaking cool - the surrounding gardens are perfect for an evening stroll - so lush and decorative, and the perfect way to kill some time leading up to our reservation. Mai Tai's were on-point, but pricey. Coming here for drinks alone is what leads to this getting 5 stars - because those food prices were an otherwise huge deterrent. Overall a very dependable spot if you're looking for something both touristy, but also unique!

Love the grindz! Always lots of delicious food to try every visit. Staff is super friendly and the restaurant has all the local feels w/ the island decor and music.

This is the DEFINITELY the place to go for a nice dinner with a view. The reviews weren't kidding when it came down to "GET HERE EARLY". I was about 1/2 hr early and there was a line forming, many people were in parties together but had to be about 20-25 ahead of me. As soon as they opened the doors, the lines moved quick. We were seated immediately. Service was top notch from the moment we were greeted. Food wasn't worth splurging. I was able to order the Thai Calamari, mule, mocktail, clam chowder, and the Teriyaki Top Sirloin. Needless to say we enjoyed every bite. Almost forgot to mention the complementary bread with guava butter. It was also nice walking down to the garden after dinner.

Let's start with the best advice... get there really early! It gets packed very quickly. We got there 30 minutes early and there was already a long line waiting to open. If you get early enough you can get the best view but the entire place has a nice open view of the garden. The service was very fast lots of people working so that helps to get things going. The food was good, but most of the items had that Hawaiian sweet taste so if you like that than you will enjoy everything. Overall the food was good though.

What a great experience to dine here for the first time. It well deserved the five stars rating (food wise), but I gave four because of the very "LONG" wait, and the worst part: they do not take reservations! Glad that now I can brag about have been there and ate many of their fantastically delicious dishes. As for repeated visits, I think I will pass. The lengthy wait period is unequivocally one of the biggest deterrents.

This place was awesome!! The place is something you see out of a movie you have the outdoor seating where you can grab a drink and just hang and then there is main dinning area. You can have a nice family outing or date night. When it came to food we got the New York this was seasoned to perfection and the temp was on point. The meat was buttery the mash was something I would want more of. I personally ordered the Salmon, this was not the worst but it was not the best. And I say this just because I don't expect the spice level it had. Once you remove the crust it was very nice. The sauce did give it a great taste. Where it even helped with the spice. The kids ordered the chicken and the fish I will do this both together because it's a kids meal. It was lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The kids enjoyed it even my son that is not fish fan liked it. We were just driving the island and really wanted some dinner this was an unplanned stop but man was it worth it.

Haven't been here in a while so we said why not. Always busy and if you want the prime rib get there by 430, we chose last minute and it was already 730pm. We sat at the bar tables till our table was ready, started with some drinks and pupus. The sizzling mushrooms were so good with the cheese. We went with the pork chop and hot honey salmon, always flavorful and never over good. Always a nice place to come eat on the windward side.

This is one of our favorite places to come for special occasions. Been coming since they opened. Food is always consistently delicious and our family loves the prime rib. Warning... It's massive and I think two people or three people could easily share it. We usually do that with a nice big salad and some pupus. The scenery of the gardens below and the Koolau mountains are breathtaking. Tips: they don't take reservations, so come early and get in line. Be sure and take a walk down below and enjoy the beauty. If you want prime rib, they usually run out by the end of the night, so don't get there late.

I wanted to come here for my birthday but was hesitant based on the mixed reviews. I was so glad I did because the food, views, and service were amazing. I knew this was a highly sought after dinner spot so I came about 15 mins before opening and there was already around 20 people waiting - so I just joined the line. I was still able to snag a nice seat! I was able to try the prime rib and a grilled fish dish. The prime rib was 52 oz for $56- a STEAL. Two people can definitely share it. I ordered it medium and it came out perfectly. The grilled fish was also good, the lobster cream sauce and pesto sauce really complemented each other and the crunchy thin carrots on top really tied the dish together. The lilikoi crème brûlée was really good as well. There was a hint of lilikoi. The drinks were $12 each which again was definitely a steal! The flat island iced tea tasted super tropical with a coconut cream texture. The li hing mui mango margarita was also good. The drinks were truly a Hawai'i staple of flavors. I can understand the negative reviews especially if people have waited an hour or two to eat. People will get hangry. I wouldn't mind waiting 30 minutes but anything up to two hours is not worth it. It's a nice place to celebrate a special occasion for sure. One thing I wish they did was provide some type of complimentary dessert for birthdays but they didn't. They do however provide complimentary bread with guava butter!

Very good! Prime rib or coconut shrimp is great! Beautiful landscaping! Great service! Less hustle and bustle than Waikiki! Beautiful windward side! I would recommend it for sure! Great last minute place to go! Nice bar area if you like to have a drink or two! Great location and top service!

The service was great, the food was great, the gardens and location was gorgeous, the prices were decent comparable to everywhere else on the island, drinks were yummy... so the only 2 issues we had were the desserts were meh (definitly wouldn't waste my calories on dessert here) and they dont take reservations so you definitly should NOT come hungry. The place was PACKED when we got here at 530 on a Tuesday night. Dress code seems to be a little more dressy, but they didn't mind that I was in shorts. Either get here early (like 330) to get a spot right when they open at 4, or come late like 730 or 8. Whatever you do... DO NOT come at 5 or 6 and expect to be eating within the hour.

WORTH. IT. In a nut shell: It's a beautiful area, with nice ambiance, delicious food, and kind/patient servers. While we waited we checked out the garden. The garden is beautiful - be ready to take gorgeous pics. Then We ordered some drinks and I got the li hing mui. It was bomb. I ordered 2. Then we got seated and the waitress was polite and patient. After we ordered, I was impressed with a few things: the servers brought all our plates out and to the person without asking who it goes to, and then EVERY SINGLE PLATE was delicious. I'm not even being exaggerative. We all exchanged bites. The grilled fish, the kalbi, the short ribs, chefs special porkloin. It was all honestly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Btw Expect a little bit of a wait, there's no reservations.

if i could give this place 10 out of 5 stars I would F O O D / D R I N K S: keep in mind these portions are huge, we're on the island of hawaii but boy do I feel like I'm in samoa omg the prices are beyond fair considering the view and quality thai fried calamari 4.5/5- standard, fresh crispy and yummy crispy brussel sprouts 10/5- idk what they put in these but get them it's the best I've ever had sticky ribs 4.5/5 - gingery bbq flavor ribs, half a rack is more than enough mauka makai 5/5 - fragrant and full of flavor, who knew short rib and tako (octopus) went well together baby cake and paradise pie - I was too full at this point but I recommend the paradise pie which is kona coffee-flavored for my coffee ice cream lovers pine colada 5/5 - miss bartender did not play I saw her pour a three second pull and I got wasted LOL mai tai li ling mui - both great drinks they really know how to mix here S E R V I C E: 11/10 - huge thanks to Nainoa! very charismatic and charming man, he was on top of it with the service A M B I A N C E: while waiting for about 1.5 hr for our table we took a stroll through the beautiful garden, stunning views, the air hits different here

The food here was amazing! We really enjoyed our entrees and the baby cake desert was excellent :) The atmosphere was great, you could see out into the gardens and the island mountain was a breathtaking view. We had to wait a while to be seated, but then the service was very quick and helpful! Definitely recommended!

This place was a highly recommended spot from multiple of our friends, though it's a little out of the way, it was still a must-try spot for us. The restaurant is located in the most beautiful atmosphere - with the mountain and sunset accompanying us while we dined. There's no reservations at this restaurant, so it's a waitlist only. We got there relatively early (~5pm) and waited for about an hour. The drinks and food were also so fresh and delicious. I had two mai tais - so delicious. We are such big fans of free bread at restaurants, and they had a roll of freshly baked bread with airy whipped guava butter (hello?!) For the main entrees, I got the Chinese-style steamed monchong fish with hot sesame oil, bok choy, shimeji mushrooms, rayu oil, and white rice. My husband got the New york strip with sauteed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. We also got the caesar salad and fries for sides. Overall, it's a meal I will never forget and I was so full walking out of there!

Came here for my boyfriend's bday dinner. The restaurant itself was easy to find, plenty of parking. There are no reservations so we were recommended to come early. We got here at 4:20pm and were seated by 4:50. We asked for the garden view and it was stunning. As for the food Prime rib- 8/10 huge portion. I can eat, but I was not able to finish it. Fried calamari 6/10 soggy and lacked flavor. Brussel sprouts 10/10. Service 7/10. Server did not really engage or go over the menu.

On the pricey side however, you are obviously paying for the view and good service as well as the portion of serving ... surprisingly huge. Overall... worth visiting if you are in the island of Oahu to experience it. Highly recommend...!

The prime rib was melt in your mouth EXCELLENT! My hubby was in heaven. I had the chef special pork roast and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly & the potatoes were a perfect match for the dish. The service was friendly & our server was knowledgeable. Sadly I didn't take a picture of the prime rib before my hubby dug in but I did get pics of our other dishes.

Had our best meal of the trip here! Highly recommend the whole fried fish and prime rib. We arrived a few minutes after they opened and got quoted a 30 min wait time, so we walked around the gardens and took photos while we waited. Food and service were top notch.

A must go to when in Hawaii! The food and drinks are excellent, but it's the ambiance and setting of this place that really sets it apart. We have fond memories of eating here and soaking up the beauty of Hawaii. Service was excellent, but be aware it is a favorite spot, so it can get busy.

The ambience & scenery at this restaurant is really beautiful. The staff is really nice very professional. My cousin got the prime rib of which was delicious. I was advised to get the sticky ribs, which were overcooked drenched in barbecue sauce to cover it up. Next time. I will get the salmon or the prime rib. Don't get the sticky sticky ribs. They're probably cooked from the previous day

Went here for my birthday last week, as I heard great things about their Prime Rib. And it didn't disappoint, mostly. The Prime Rib was huge & thick. Very impressive to see when it arrived. (Wish they would serve it this thick at all of those hotel buffets). My wife had their Grilled Fish dish, which she liked. I ordered mine medium & it was tender as I hoped. The only thing that would have made this experience better is if they had a sharper knife. While although tender, there were spots of tendon to cut through of which was a challenge. I should have asked if they offered a sharper knife. The house salad was very good & the view great. They also served complimentary bread. Service staff were also spot on. Line Tips - heard that at times the lines to get in can be long. We came on a Wednesday at 3pm (doors open at 4pm), no one was there yet. So we walked around the garden area. We walked back & was the first in line at around 3:20pm. People started to come around 3:30pm. By 3:50pm there were about a dozen people in line. Doors opened at 3:55pm & the staff put out some benches, before we went in. Parking - They have lots of part. The restaurant entrance is very near to the parking lot. All in all, a good experience. Maybe if I had a sharper knife, it would have been a five star experience.

This restaurant has incredible ambience with breathtaking views of the Koolau Mountains above you and Haiku Gardens below, plus a beautiful pond also below. The main courses were fantastic and huge. Don't order appetizers, so much food. The Clark Mai Tai was meh, but the Lilikoi margarita is yum, but still weak if you are looking for a strong drink. The service was ok, very fast, but had to ask for water several times. The ambience and food make up for it. Beware the Prime Rib is HUGE! It could feed 2-3 people. The desserts are fun. I got the PBandJ. Yum

On 5/20/25, after a long day in Haleiwa Kayaking and such, we took the long way back to Honolulu and stopped for dinner here. There was a long wait for a table, but we got a bar table and had an appetizer and a few drinks. We ended up waiting for almost 90 minutes. It seemed like others were getting seated before us, but...whatever. The setting was gorgeous and the food was good. The server was friendly but the service was really slow. The place was crowded when we got there, but had thinned a good bit by the time we were seated.

Update: 10/29/24 (repeat visit) Haleiwa Joe's at Haiku Garden opens at 4 pm daily. You have to get there before 4 pm because Haleiwa Joe's does not entertain reservations. First come first serve seating. Wait time on holidays, F, Sat, Sun can exceed 2 hrs. Monchong Fish - 4/5 We ordered the fresh fish. The coconut curry & Steamed monchong fish was on the dry side. I was expecting the fish to be a little more tender, but the coconut curry sauce made the fish very delicious. The steamed maonchong flavor was good. I asked for more shoyu to enhance the flavor. Even though the fish was on the dry side, both selections were flavorful and enjoyable to eat. Prime rib - 5/5 The ginormous prime rib cut was cooked to perfection. We ordered medium rare. The 2-3 lb cut was perfectly served medium rare (see pic). The rub was tasty, and the meat was tender and savory. The prime rib is so huge that it can be shared. I would recommend ordering the prime rib to share , then get your favorite sides to accompany the prime rib. Overall, we always enjoy our visit and experience at Haleiwa Joe's. I highly recommend visiting Haleiwa Joe's in Haiku (Kaneohe).

My birthday celebration dinner! I've been wanting to come here for years, but always was discouraged due to the rumored long 2-3 hour wait times... This year my birthday fell on a Monday, which I assumed would be the least busy day...so I thought why not try to go there finally? Lucky for me, the stars aligned and we waited only 45 minutes. Not too shabby. TIP: Drop someone off while you park so they can go check in with the host first. They ask for your phone number, number of guests, and text you when your table is ready. My predicted time was 1 hour 15 minutes, but they got us in at the 45 min mark. Ambiance: 5/5 There is a small ramp going down to the gardens. We enjoyed walking through the beautiful scenery, enjoying the small trails to the pond, took pictures of the flowers, and even walked around the neighborhood to enjoy the view of the mountains. Before we knew it, we got a text! The seating is gorgeous, overlooking the garden. Warning: it does get quite humid! Also bring bug spray because of the mosquitos! Food: 5/5 --All I wanted to eat for my birthday was a juicy piece of prime rib! Priced at $52.95, it was one hefty piece of meat. I believe it was 2 pounds! Very juicy and succulent, cooked perfectly medium rare. Included mashed potatoes and green beans. Side of au jus and horseradish sauce. We shared this and still had some leftovers. --We had a Chef's special pupu to start - Goat Cheese Funghi. Puff pastry filled with mushrooms, goat cheese, topped with fresh arugula and Parmesan. It was tasty! $17 Drinks: 4/5 -Outside Double Up ($22) 2 drinks in one! Shareable. Big portion and pretty tasty. Good amount of booze. -Flat Island Iced Tea ($12) - tasted like a pina colada. Good for people who like sweet drinks. I probably wouldn't order this one again. Dessert: 4/5 Paradise Pie! This was their best seller kona mud pie. Delicious and huge portion to share! Wish there was a little more Kona coffee taste. Love icecream pies. Service: 4/5 Our waitress was friendly and gave good recommendations. We had to ask for our second round of drinks later, but we didn't mind waiting since we were just enjoying each other's company. Definitely recommend if you love prime rib, especially because of the gorgeous scenery while you eat. Not sure if I'd wait longer than 1 hour, but it's worth it for special occasions!
