Upscale delivery on Hawaii island cuisine, with easily shareable pupus perfect for getting into the tropical beach vibe. Well-stocked bar for cocktails. Coconut Shrimp, butterflied and with a noticeably perfect crunch — accompanying plum sauce like a unique bbq. Luau Crab Dip, a nod to similar dips encountered on the Mainland, but with coconut milk to enhance the island flavor. Crispy Brussels Sprouts, comforting as though a salad dressed with Thousand Island were fried. Side of namesake Steak Fries, spiced and satisfying. Perfect for celebrating a special event with family or romantic dinner for two on outdoor tent-covered wood terrace.

Caught dinner and sunset after an afternoon hike at Waimea Falls. A short wait, maybe 10 minutes landed us a great table out on the patio with an excellent view of the upcoming sunset. We started with a shared spicy poke appetizer (so fresh & delicious) and followed by salads. Everything was really fresh and well seasoned. And service was outstanding. Attentive but not overbearing. I can definitely see why this place is busy, it’s very good. And the location can’t be beat!

Really enjoy eating our supper here. Had a table with a view of the harbor. Our server was great. Attentive and spent some time giving details on the menu. I had ribs and the misses had fish. The presentation was excellent and delicious. The portions were good also. This place fills up at night so go early or get a reservation.

Overall a great experience here. Everything was delicious. Kalbi was great, seasoning was perfect and it wasn’t too chewy, just right. The garlic shrimp was a bit difficult at first but they were good once you work through it. Clam chowder was good too, not too salty. The garlic bread was huge, definitely take home worthy, they also served bread as a starter so it was a very filling meal. Came early around 5 o’clock for dinner, and I’d recommend this. Was veryyy busy around peak dinner time.

Highly recommend this place, the atmosphere was brilliant and food even better! All the fish dishes we tried were surreal. Service was great, very attentive.

Had the best seat on the patio. Our server Brandon was the best. Very polite and attentive. Not going to lie the chicken was over cooked but it tasted good. Prime rib was next level. Was a great place to eat and will come back.

Absolutely delicious. Despite being busy, we were seated quickly, had excellent service, and the food was amazing. This was one of the top places we ate at on the trip

Google
Our meal and drinks were delicious. I had the baked fish, my family had the teriyaki short ribs, coconut shrimp and the teriyaki sirloin. Everything was tasty and server was very friendly.

Yelp
I was very surprised by Haleiwa Joe's! Ended up having a delicious dinner here with truly awesome service! I had a party of 13 and the wait was almost an hour on a Saturday night. We decided to check out the bar while we waited. The drinks were good, but definitely on the sweet side! I wasn't expecting much from dinner, but this restaurant proved me wrong very quickly. FIRST OFF -- THE BREAD! Omg! I loved the bread. It came out hot and fresh. The bread was beautifully crusty on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside, and had a bit of a tang/sourness (was it sourdough?) And with a bit of the salted butter... UGH, pure heaven in my mouth! I loved it so much that I ended up having another roll at the end of the meal AFTER dessert haha Now the menu is large so I think if you stick to what is known to be delicious, you'll be in good hands. Some of my other friends did not enjoy their meal as much as I did, but they ordered different things. I ended up trying: Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Kalbi, and the House Salad with Sesame Miso dressing. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! The house salad was soo good, all thanks to that delicious sesame miso dressing. A star of a dressing! The crispy brussel sprouts had great texture and was balanced well with salt, acid, and sweetness. The sundried tomato aioli on the side was unbelievably addicting! We ended up dipping other things in there too. The kalbi was pretty good! Fatty kalbi with good flavor, but I just wish there was a bit more char on the meat. Other than that, I really loved the pickled vegetables and kim chee namasu. For dessert, I had a bite of the Chocolate Mousse Pie which was a chocolate lovers DREAM. So rich and thick. And then of course as I mentioned above, although I was stuffed, I ended my meal with another delicious bread roll with butter. NO REGRETS Most importantly, the service was STELLAR! Our server Eric was not only super attentive, but didn't miss any special requests from anyone in our party of 13! He was on top of it! And everything was so speedy. This was a nice surprise as most of the service we received on the trip was more leisurely, laid back, and generally slower. So we really enjoyed being pleasantly surprised at how quickly everything moved here. Had a great time at Haleiwa Joe's! Would come back again!

Yelp
Drove out to Hale'iwa Joe's in Hale'iwa to celebrate our Anniversary. We tried the Haleiwa Joes at Haiku Gardens and enjoyed it. The vibe is a little different, with ocean view, with other location in Kaneohe looking over gardens. The choices on menu are similar. Our server was very personable and all the food came out hot and without much wait. Order the Salmon, it was good however a little spicer than I expected. Husband ordered the ribs, there was plenty of meat and he was satisfied. He received a salad which I shared with him. They also provided 3 rolls with dinner. All and all it was pleasant experience.

Yelp
This is an iconic restaurant and is always busy. The view is gorgeous as you look out across the north shore. The menu is simple and full of local, fresh catch options. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. We had a birthday party here and they let us put our cake in the fridge and brought it out for us when we were ready. The kitchen made some mistakes but overall the food was delicious.

Adam B.

Yelp
A pretty nice "American" dinner. Pretty loud inside and feels a touch overpriced compared to the quality of the flavors. Good service though and if someone wanted to go, I'd come back.

Angela L.

Yelp
Was so excited to get a chance to eat at Haleiwa Joe's while visiting Oahu on our recent trip to celebrate my birthday and our life. It was on our top 10 restaurants to try. We were able to get a table outside within 20 minutes of arriving. The staff was great. They have a good selection in the menu so we ordered a bunch of apps to go with our entrees. The crispy brussel sprouts and luau crab dip were amazing. I could have stopped there for a great meal. The grilled fish was good, but not the best to me, it was a little dry. Wanted it to be moist and flaky. My ordered the sticky ribs, he said it was good, but also was a little on the dry side. The lilikoi creme brulee was really great. A great way to finish to our meal before making the drive back to Honolulu. They stayed packed during our entire meal. Service was great. Definitely a place to check out. Though everything we tried wasn't the best, there's so many things on the menu I want to try. Looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
We had a family dinner here and came on a week night. We arrived late, but our party of eight was seated even though not everyone was there yet, which I appreciated. Our server was very kind and patient, making the night enjoyable. Parking was a bit tight, but there's additional parking across the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and spacious! I ordered the grilled salmon, which was delicious and filling, served with mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, they had run out of prime rib, which disappointed a few in our group. My husband had the tenderloin; he requested it medium, but it was quite tough and chewy, which was a letdown. I also enjoyed a virgin piña colada that was sweet and refreshing. For dessert, I had the baby cakes--chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. The combination of sweet and tart was great, although the cake was a bit dry. The melted chocolate in the center was a nice touch. Overall, I had a very good experience. The service was excellent, and while some dishes were great, others were just okay. It's worth a visit!

Yelp
This is an excellent place to have a casual dinner with friends & family. I really like the location of this place with it's corner sight by the dock with boats, tiki torches, and a beautiful lit sky. The menu size is pretty decent with a nice amount of food choices. I came here with my family and had dinner last Saturday. I really enjoyed the prime rib which was huge and super thick. If you're looking for a nice meaty dinner, you have to try this. I am a huge fan of their garlic bread appetizer; it's crispy with a nice buttery top and served in this griddle platter. I also love their crab-cream cheese dip which is excellent with their pita bread. If you're looking for a nice sit-down restaurant with good vibes, this is an excellent spot. Be aware that parking sucks because it's a small lot but there is an open lot right across where you can park. It's also located in this historic town with lots of locals. I like this restaurant and would definitely come back!

Jamie C.

Yelp
Excellent prime rib, honestly the best I've ever had. It's HUGE 24 oz and we shared it. Absolutely phenomenal, the ceviche was on point and the chips it comes with are delicious, great drinks and ambiance. Absolutely will return on my next trip. This place is a must hands down.

Vanna L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed everything I had! I wish I had more Curry with my dish because it was delicious. The baby cake was very good in the middle, I could've done with the raspberry syrup. The staff are very accommodating of our toddler. They provided our daughter with coloring supplies, offered a cup of water with a lid on it, and provided a booster seat for us. They also have a kids menu and will let you substitute fries if your child isn't in the mood for rice. Overall, we had a great experience here.

Havana H.

Yelp
Had the best dinner ever. We are locals that regularly dine at the Haleiwa and Haiku gardens location, but today was perfect. The service was amazing (Thanks Aleks!) food was so yummy, and came out super fast. Mahalo mahalo mahalo

Erin R.

Yelp
Absolutely loved Haleiwa Joes. Great service, knowledgeable staff and amazing food. Three of us all enjoyed our tasty drinks and each meal was spot on. Those delicious little sourdough rolls that accompanied our meals were a treat. Love the views and the experience. We will definitely return

Jane D.

Yelp
Great food, staff was excellent! Our family came here on Christmas eve and our dinner was spectacular. We loved our server Vanessa.

Shanin F.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and it was soooo ono. My boyfriend got the whole fried fish, buttery and crispy! I got the prime rib and it was HUMONGOUS!!! Definitely could not finish it on my own and definitely could be shared with another person. Service was amazing, and all in all a great experience.

Desmond J.

Yelp
The food was great, and we always enjoy the ambiance, but the service left something to be desired this visit. It was my nephew's 8th birthday and his first trip to Hawaii since he was a baby. I asked if the staff could sing happy birthday or do something small to help him feel special. Unfortunately, the servers told me they normally don't do that unless a dessert is ordered. Since we had a surprise planned at home with cake and ice cream, I declined. They refused to even acknowledge his birthday, leaving him a bit disappointed. He had always dreamed of having happy birthday sung to him at a restaurant, and it was disheartening to see his excitement dimmed. While we appreciate the food and ambiance, this experience was disappointing." * Positives: Good food and ambiance. * Negatives: Lack of flexibility and empathy in service, especially given the special occasion

Kellery H.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious!! I dined with my brother and sister in law. I had the grilled salmon, it was the best salmon I've had in my life. The presentation of the food to the taste was amazing! The service was the best and the ambiance was awesome! The drinks were great and so was dessert.

Maddy S.

Yelp
Was super interested to check this place out given how hyped up it is! Totallyyyy worth it. Service was great and atmosphere is super nice. We got there at 4:20 and were seated right away once they opened. If you don't want to wait, arrive when they open. As for food, highly recommend the grilled salmon and sizzling mushrooms. Honorable mention to how good their rolls and lilikoi crème brulee were too

Linda O.

Yelp
This is a MUST stop on the North shore. We stopped in to watch the sunset and sat on the yard tent seating. It was a fabulous view. Our server Maria was so very sweet. She explained all the different fresh fish options on the menu. I was amazed at the different fish offered. We settled on salad ( going light due to too much vacation indulgence) First off ...the "wedge",It should have been called the "head". I swear it was a full head of lettuce! The spinach salad was equally as huge! The Brussels sprout appetizer was so good. This is definitely a "go to" place if you're in the North shore

FM S.

Yelp
Our go to place for birthdays and anniversaries. Food was outstanding. The service was great, especially CJ. The ambiance was warm and inviting.

Annie H.

Yelp
After seeing a lot of hype online and how this spot was recommended by Yelp etc, I had high expectations - but I felt that it was more of a tourist trap, and a bit overrated. Also we felt the service was lacking, not the friendliest, almost sarcastic. My friend and I ordered a couple dishes for dinner, and they were all tiny, pretty pricey and not the best quality for tapas (calamari was pretty greasy, and octopus was ok). At least the seafood was fresh, but it's Hawaii! I was tempted by the dessert though, but we ended up just going elsewhere after, maybe we should have stopped by during happy hour for the discount.

Sheri H.

Yelp
Can't beat the ambiance, which gives a view of the water and beach. Here for brunch which has a small menu. Got the loco moco as it's a local dish and wanted to try it, but it was pretty meh. The brown gravy didn't taste great. While I was eating, I saw a friend and went over to say hi and when I went back to my table, the bus boy had cleared it all away. Was not halfway finished. Stood by the table for awhile and when no one checked on me, I walked to the front and asked for the check and told them what happened. I got a surprise apology but told they couldn't refund the meal or even give a discount.

Alicia C.

Yelp
During my vacation, I stopped by here to grab dinner. There was some hesitation to seat me because I was a party of one, but eventually I was sat in a corner table where I could at least see the outside. My server was kind but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. My main dish was one of their specials and arrived to me cold. I asked for them to at least reheat it - not demanding a refire - and the second attempt came back still cold. Because it was pork, I didn't take the chance and ended up not eating my meal at all. It soured my experience and I decided not to stay for dessert either. My server was diligent in trying to help and spoke to the manager for me to try to make it right. I was very pleased with how they chose to rectify the situation. Based on my overall experience, I probably wouldn't come again if I was back in town as it seems very hit or miss.

Toni S.

Yelp
I love the food here, but I'm disappointed in my latest trip. I showed up at 4:30pm (daily opening time) and the gates were locked. No notes or messages saying that they'd be closed. No advanced warning on the website or on the phone message, and I drove very far to get there. No one answers the phone during the day (while the restaurant is closed) so there's no way to find out if they change their times or choose not to be open during their normal business hours. It's a shame I wasted time going there. I really love the food.

Andie Hojun L.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Service could be better. If you want to sit in their outdoor area, I recommend making a reservation before.

Kathy O.

Yelp
Just stopped by after going to Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park.. Sat in the bar for the happy hour specials which was from 430pm to 630pm. Service and food was excellent. As my friend said, "Two thumbs up! We coming back again"

Brandi I.

Yelp
Good food and great service! Ganette (I hope that's how you spell it) was wonderful! Definitely recommend the coconut shrimp and the brussel sprouts. Their dessert either the macadamia nut ice cream is delicious, loaded with fresh fruit and shareable. Indoor and outdoor seating with a great view of the harbor. No reservations so get their pretty close to open and you wont have much of a wait.

Sunil R.

Yelp
A local we met at the park said that this is THE place in Haleiwa to grab a meal and that was enough to get us here. We had a really good meal here. The service was friendly, the fish was fresh and the drinks were strong and refreshing.

Flo B.

Yelp
Everything else was good and tasty! Only thing is the ribs are too salty and saucy.. I will definitely come again tho for pie Kona coffee ice cream

Phyllis M.

Yelp
Food portions were excellent very tasty Recommend going there on an empty stomach. Service was awesome our server was Kyle recommendation on food choices was spot on. Ambiance was kinda of chill View from the outside patio was awesome and relaxing Thank You Kyle for the awesome service

Matt S.

Yelp
Best prime rib I've had in a long time. This Goliath weighed like 10 lbs. Ambiance was great. Service was great. Word words words

Claire A.

Yelp
-bring money -fish looked like a cartoon -burger was cooked by fire (i'm a good way) -get smashed potatoes -broccoli was fire

Erika H.

Yelp
I can't get over how beautiful this place is: and the price tag was also the biggest cherry on top! This was the perfect option for a romantic anniversary dinner while in town! Highly highly recommend! Our server was also amazing (considering the table next to us was being a bit rude). Thankful to everyone here who made our experience amazing regardless of some guests around us. Can't wait to come back someday!

Daniel Z.

Yelp
Service was attentive, fish appetizers were great. Wasn't crazy about the prime rib, and there were a lot of bugs going around since the windows were open

Rebecca O.

Yelp
We started with the mushroom appetizer, which was very good. The rolls were excellent. I had the salmon, which was very good. My husband had the coconut shrimp, which were really disappointing- probably the worst coconut shrimp either of us have had. They were heavily fried and oily, and had a small sprinkling of shaved coconut on top of the shrimp, but none in the batter. Service was friendly and attentive. We were there after dark, so didn't get to take advantage of the view. I'd recommend going earlier in the day.

Andrew P.

Yelp
My wife starts the conversation with "There's this place I wanted to take you to..." at this point she doesn't need to finish I'm sold. As this usually means there is some solid food or beer on the horizon. We are staying in Wai'anae and decided to make a 1hr trek. This was almost my favorite part, the drive was wonderful but seeing Hawaii in the late afternoon to early evening was spectacular. When we finally got there parking was a little tough. I went inside and was able to get a table quickly. But the word "quickly" certainly went out the window after being seated. I think we must of caught the dinner rush. Everything came out really slow from drinks, refills to bread to the eventual dinner. Ended up asking about 5 separate times for a Coke refill. Luckily Daniel Tiger kept the toddler entertained enough that he barley noticed. I ordered 2 cocktails including the Outside Double Up (meant for 2 people). Both drinks were fantastic - heavy enough pour to taste the alcohol without it being just a fruit drink. Both had a incredible taste and were quite cool and refreshing. The food was excellent. Ordered Da Burger and it was delightful. Seriously good stuff. Wife had a steak while the kids all went with the Hamburgers. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. It really hit the spot. The ambiance was nice enough though I felt like we were in a walkway versus actual dinning area. There was an outdoor seating which looked amazing. But with kids you quickly realize they would be playing on the lawn the whole time which wouldn't be very relaxing. Overall generally enjoyed the experience. Food certainly was the best part aside from the amazing sights from the drive. Be prepared this place is far from cheap place to eat. Looking forward to trying it again maybe on a less busy night.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday, the food was great. We could not get enough of our crab dip, we were offered bread rolls, (so delicious) but sad to say that we never got asked if we wanted more meanwhile the table next to us got 3-4 rounds of bread. My steak was cooked to perfection and had amazing flavors. My ice cream pie was HUGE and we split to between two people and even that was a lot. Our waiter was nice but we did have to ask for our soup twice and we just decided to take it off our tab.

Wes D.

Yelp
We were looking for a light dinner and went to Joe's despite the mixed reviews. Our waitress, Vanessa described the calamari starter we decided on, we got the wedge salad w blue cheese on the side and an extra side of balsamic as my cousin wasn't a blue cheese fan, and then we got the cauliflower side. 5 stars for the service and 3 stars for the food. The calamari was good though the thai sauce wasn't really spicy, the salad was good all around and the cauliflower didn't match the description as it needed to be crispy since it was listed as fried. When I mentioned it to Vanessa she immediately offered to redo the dish which i said did the need to happen and instead she credited us on our check. Sitting outside was lovely but noisy at times as there were some families. Oh and they don't take Amex.

Carol F.

Yelp
We had our family dinner on an impromptu visit to Haleiwa for the Matsumoto shave ice. The food was fantastic! Our server was wonderful. Pupus was very delicious. Main entries were superb. Breads were yummy! Highly recommended!

Andy P.

Yelp
We've been here many times since it opened (maybe 20 plus years ago) when we are home visiting family. It wasn't there when I was growing up in Waialua, it was Sea View Inn then. To start, you'd have to try really hard to not be good when your restaurant is right on the water of beautiful Haliewa town. The restaurant is airy and what you'd expect of a tropical restaurant. There's a covered outdoor area, which is great to catch the sunset. The staff are always super friendly and do a great job. There's never a long wait once you get seated. They don't take reservations so we always try and get there when it opens for dinner. Still the long wait, if you must, is worth it and you're close to the water and some shops. The food is very good. They have some nice cocktails and some decent micro-brews on tap. We usually start with the sizzling mushrooms, poke and calamari which are all pretty good. Their portions are a bit ridiculous though especially the prime rib which is 20+ounces of meat, no bone to weigh it down. It's always exquisitely prepared, seasoned well and always cooked to your desired perfection. There are some nice fresh fish selections and other meat entrees like their sticky ribs, kalbi, and a large burger. They have half a dozen large salads to choose from, the wedge is the one we order most of the time. We usually end our meal with some nice desserts which again the portions are huge, and so they are great for sharing. We always begin our vacations back home with a visit to Haleiwa Joe's and you should too.

Breanne B.

Yelp
For our second time around--Incredible! We played it cheap and safe the last time, sticking to the foods we know, and I'm glad we had our wait staff to entice us with talking up the selections of the day/season this time. The salmon & bass were delicious and a highlight, tender and fresh as you can get. Very beautifully cooked fish, I'll be sure to come back for your "Whole Fish", whatever selection they may be next! Branden was the face of our table tonight, taking and placing our orders. He was super kind, patient and friendly every interaction we had the pleasure! The whole team really makes the restaurant welcoming and the dining process efficient. Everyone and everything made for an absolutely invaluable evening. Our outdoor seating had a perfect view of the Haleiwa harbor, and it really puts you by the water so you aren't left longing for that "by the sea" feeling. We had such an impeccable meal, wonderful staff and great experience, that we wanted to let management know ourselves. It felt right, after spending a VERY pretty penny on dinner, to let her know everything from her and her staff tonight were doing everything right. Lorrin & Branden, thank you again for your top-tier service, your chef's for their fantastic dishes, bartenders for their drinks, and everyone involved in our dining experience tonight.

Jessica R.

Yelp
This was mine and my boyfriends first time here and we were not impressed. Ambience is nice, though the fan blowing in my face every other minute was not my favorite! We ordered the edamame - 7/10 Coconut shrimp - 6/10 Grilled salmon - 5/10 My boyfriend did enjoy the Madam Pele drink but he felt like it was too light on alcohol. 5/5 on the service though!

Chrissy R.

Yelp
Came w a big group of 2 families, including 3 kids and they were very accommodating. No reservations so come early unless you want to wait especially if after 6pm. Good fresh fish and prime rib (we had the fish only). Enjoyed the catch of the day, baked fish, calamari and ahi rolls.

Shelly L.

Yelp
Came for brunch and it was a lovely setting! They are dog friendly so we really appreciated being able to bring our dog. Nice view of the harbor and a nice breeze made it a nice atmosphere. The only bad thing was the poke. It was very mayo heavy and not good. Other than that, everything was great! Service was good, we had a new server in training and she did a good job. The crab/avocado salad was good and giant! My boyfriend got the loco moco and really liked that as well. Our friends got the salmon bowl and said it was good but slightly undercooked.

Kellie D.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! We got the prime rib ($52) and shared it between two of us. It was so good and absolutely huge! We had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and they were also delicious. We got here right when they opened and they sat us immediately. Service was kind and quick!

MaryAnn C.

Yelp
We came in 30 minutes after they had just opened on a Wednesday... they were not busy and we wanted to sit outdoors. Views were really pretty as you see Haleiwa bridge. Now onto their food, I was iffy about it but they're ok. For starters we got their special Blackened Ahi and Fish Dip, both were ok to my taste. For entrees we got their Burger and Strip Steak. I asked for medium well but it almost was already cooked well however I don't mind it. Cocktail is good, I got pineapple martini and yum! Otherwise, service was really good too so still 4 stars for me. Parking is right out but could be a problem if busy.

Isbela P.

Yelp
Service was awesome I ordered coconut shrimp and it was crispy on the outside and just right on the inside.... Cheerful atmosphere

Gil F.

Yelp
Tonight we experienced a lovely evening at Haleiwa Joes in Haleiwa , North Shore Oahu. Our evening started with delightful service from the 2 wonderful hostesses who continuously smiled, engaged in fun conversation and helped secure the " best seat in the house"!... waterfront view at sunset! Mahalo. Our waiter, Brandon, provided impeccable service all evening and we appreciated his help in answering several questions about the menu. Our choices of coconut shrimp, grilled mahi mahi were delicious . Our dinner was not rushed and we simply had the best time at this wonderful restaurant. Mahalo to all !! Marion & Gil Fegley

BandZ M.

Yelp
We love Haleiwa Joes! The food is consistently great; good quality, great flavor, tastes how you would expect it to taste. And the ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. Service is always top notch. Keep in mind, no reservations, so either get there when they open for dinner or know that you might have to wait a bit.

Kat K.

Yelp
We normally go to the Haiku location since it's closer to home but since we had out of town guests and wanted to bring them to another part of the island that they haven't seen yet -- Haleiwa it is! We ordered the sizzling mushrooms, luau dip, short ribs, steak, fish of the day, and of course the prime rib! Everything was delicious - same as Kaneohe so we were happy. One thing that we absolutely loved was the fact that we only had a 5 min wait for a table. Everytime we go to the other location, we are always rushing to get there right when they open since they have a tendancy to have a longer wait time AND run out of prime rib. Extra kudos to Russell who attended to us quickly and made our experience for our guests fun. Our waitress Marilyn was great too.
