Hall of Opium

Oddly interesting. It's really big and had the longest entrance walk to the first part of the museum I've ever seen! English and Thai videos and labels and staff were great. Went early and was super quiet.

Completely underrated Museum in the north of Thailand. There are bormally only few tourist, and only sometimes school classes visiting. All descriptions are in Thai and Englisch and the experience is to the point to generate intrest to investigate the topic more. One of the Best Museums in Thailand. Plenty of parking, but no shop or Restaurant.

A rather curious but unique experience. The museum spans the history of opium and has some nice artefacts as well as some somewhat dated audio visual displays. The information on addiction itself is a bit questionable in some regards, but as an addiction scientist I would say that! Huge and quite attractive building.

Fascinating and informative. There is much to see, read and learn about the opium trade, as well as its impact on users. I would suggest you leave around 1 to 2 hours to fully appreciate this remarkable place! Oh, it’s massive too! The first 130 m of tunnel is a little daunting, but stick with it. 120 baht entry.

It was a very insightful visit to learn how a simple flower sap can have such an impact on the world. Every aspect of humanity touched in both positive and negative ways.

Incredible museum. Enormous and well laid out. The dark tunnel leading into the hall is eery and amazing. Definitely visit this museum
