We love the food, the ambience and the service. Daisy gave us 5 stars service as well. All the food was perfectly prepared and served. The lamb was the best I have had. Amazing flavors mixes (I have to say a little bit small) .

Enjoyable afternoon sitting watching the outside world drift lazily by. The food is good. It’s not trying to be anything too bold but the flavours are balanced. Started with the ocean trout and it was served in a milky ponzu sauce that complimented the soft silky trout perfectly. The lamb was rich and I could say bordering on a tad too much, I could have done with 1/2 a slice less and still been left totally satisfied. But super delicious and the turnips helped to cut through the richness. It was an enjoyable couple of hours, the sun was shining and the weather was perfect. Such a nice way to spend a few winter hours.

Fantastic family dinner! Amazing flavours. We were surprised at how many mixed reviews this place had. As the wait staff were exceptional went above and beyond, the food was fresh, hot and local. The oysters were decadent and the whole snapper was brilliant but the star of the night was dessert a lemongrass pannacotta with candied chilli and star anise quince and sesame twill it was absolutely incredible shame this place will be closing down soon ~ get in before it’s too late

Recently visited (sat lunch) and even though it was very quiet, the seafood was extremely fresh. Portion sizes are relatively small and prices are definitely on the high side even compared to Melbourne. Taste was above average but not extremely interesting. I guess the main thing was that it was fresh. Perhaps consider slightly larger serving sizes...

The food was super super tasty. I don’t eat risotto very often but this is one of the best I’ve had. The market fish sashimi is definitely the best I’ve ever had. Oysters are not the biggest size but are really fresh. Highly recommended!

New owners. Expensive modifications. New chef x Sydney with excellent credentials, my wife’s 80th birthday. Problem making a choice of where to dine out. Having reviewed top class restaurants around the world for a number of years, we recently moved to Launceston (retired) finally decided to have dinner at Hallam,s Waterfront Restaurant. First, what an excellent choice we made. The service was very professional, faultless. The menu was well thought through, offering a good range of appetising dishes. The preparation of our meals was as good as any where we have dined. On leaving with a genuine satisfied feeling of a wonderful dining experience, we shall return and pass the word on to our friends and associates, that Hallam’s Restaurant is just the ticket.

Had the most delicious duck, sourced locally from Strelleyfield, cooked and served beautifully! Staff are so kind and accomodating, especially with my 8month old. The Lemon spritz is a must too! Had a spectacular view of the sunsetting at the mouth of The Gorge. Was definitely a treat!!

We stopped in on a day trip to Launceston and were so happy we did. The food was incredible and so were the friendly staff. There were delicious vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten free options - forgive the photo, I had sunscreen on my lens - you'll just have to trust me it was amazing and try it for yourself. I wish we were staying longer so we could come back!

Yelp
Excellent food! We started with the natural oysters which were smooth and tasty. We shared the trout sashimi followed by the line caught market fish with cauliflower and the Yorktown salad greens. While that would have been plenty, I couldn't resist the dessert of chocolate, Thai milk tea and baileys!

Yelp
A beautiful building on the waterfront with a very promising set of reviews to recommend it. Unfortunately our experience did not match that of other diners. We were seated quickly and served a tough and uncharming focaccia that lacked flavor or a desirable texture. The olive oil served with it was slightly bitter and missing balsamic. We selected the spaghetti with abalone (massively over cooked) and mussels (basically raw & overly herbed/greasy). The wagyu steak was served as a "child's portion", yet was delivered extremely rare and had to be sent back - our daughter sat without food for twenty minutes while we all ate. The squid was charred to bitterness, rubbery and left a nasty taste in the mouth. The bottles of wine on the menu were egregiously overpriced and they had no oysters due to weather conditions. This is seriously probably one of the most disappointing meals we've had out in a good few years, and we have been in the states living under COVID for the last two of those. Staff were pleasant enough and the presentation of the food was very tempting, however neither could compensate for the serious shortcomings in the (very overpriced) food.

Yelp
I was blow away by the meal I ate here. I couldn't decide between the fish and chips and chowder, however in the end, I went with the chowder. It was rich, yet light and super flavorful! I also decided to get a side of fried because I thought the chowder wouldn't be filling, but in the end the soup was the perfect amount and I didn't touch my fries. This place is a little pricey but it's worth it. The food quality is amazing and the staff are super friendly. I would highly recommend this place, it's a hidden gem!

Yelp
Set in a beautiful location and the decor make you feel as if you were a boat house. Very friendly and helpful staff. Always had a smile when she was serving us. The seafood taster plate was amazing, however I must say that we did not get blown away by the food. We were expecting a lot more from an award winning restaurant. The menu seemed quite minimal which could be a great thing but in this instance we didn't think that there was enough variety of seafood. I would recommend people go there and try it out. I guess I was expecting a lot more.

Yelp
Fabulous seafood chowder & fab Tas wines. Would be even better if the large fire was lit & crackling away on a cold night. Mussels were great for main. finished with pears poached in vanilla and wine accompanied by panacotta, also excellent. Nice compact menu with great emphasis on local seafood & wines.

Yelp
amazing food. Just the wine menu is limited. good service too.

Yelp
Fabulous seafood beautifully cooked and in a great riverside location. Fat, freshly shucked, Tasmanian oysters; wonderfully fresh blue eye trevella perfectly cooked; accompanied with delicious local Riesling. Makes visiting Launceston totally worthwhile.

Yelp
For the price I wasn't that impressed, though it's a lovely surrounding the seafood chowder wasn't the best I've had, bit skimpy on the seafood and I don't want mussel shell in my bowl I had to fight to get the contents out. I got a piece of fish green salad n chips- the only nice thing about that was the freshest fish I've had but that's all I pretty much ate, so was disappointed with the high talk

Yelp
Highly recommend for a special occasion/celebratory meal. Price reflects the high quality of the food - definitely worth it. I always direct tourists here for lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Yelp
The Linguish is extremely sour, can't even swallow. The waitress simply explained there is 'lemon' said on the dish menu. Then we have to buy $7 bread suppose to be entree to balance then finish the main! The other curry seafood dish just so so.... And very pricey!
