"Hallernes Hallernes Smørrebrød Stand in Torvehallerne If you're on the hunt for semi-reasonably priced, quasi-fancy smørrebrød around the city center Hallernes' is a popular option. With a small stand in the modern and hip Torvehallerne shopping center, they prepare a mixture of traditional and more modern versions of smørrebrød. When ordering, remember that you'll want at least two pieces and that it is almost expected that you never order two pieces of the same type."

10 Best Street Food Spots in Copenhagen

"Fifteen food stalls populate Tivoli Food Hall, the sleek indoor marketplace next door to Tivoli Gardens that offers budget-friendly gourmet street food. One of the most popular is Hallernes Smørrebrød, a glossy corner stand with glass cases filled with Instagrammable Danish fare. For those wanting to try smørrebrøds, Danish open-face sandwiches, Hallernes Smørrebrød is the perfect place to do it—without breaking the bank. The pickled herring—served with apple, red onion, crème fraiche, and dill—is a must, as is the leverpostej, which includes pate, bacon, pickled berries, beetroot, and herbs." - Jenna Scatena

We went here twice during our trip! Very fresh ingredients, lovely prepared and delicious Smorrebrod combinations! We loved the salmon and paté ones. It's more on the pricey side but for us it was worth it.

Hallernes Smørrebrød is a stand that serves Danish open faced sandwiches. My family loves this place and visited three times in the week we were in Copenhagen. All the smørrebrød were so delicious and had a great balance of flavours. Highlights was the shrimp and egg, surprised that the combination really worked well together. Would highly recommend it as a cannot miss place when visiting.

Around lunch time there was long queue and I was fascinated to see the options they had. Went back later in the afternoon when the crowd subsided to try the butter fish smorrebrod which was prob the most expensive one on their menu. It was decent. Fish seemed a bit overdone and didn’t seem very flavourful. The turmeric mayo was decent. Felt Rørt Torvehallerne in the other building had better taste and more care to the smorrebrod as they were being freshly made.

The open sandwich is a must-try in Denmark! While it was served cold and the bread was a bit hard, the overall experience was quite enjoyable. It’s a unique and iconic dish, and a very good first introduction to this Danish specialty. Definitely worth a try if you're in the country

Amazing place for authentic smørrebrød! The toppings are fresh and flavorful, and the presentation is beautiful. However, keep in mind that most of the options include pork. A perfect spot to enjoy a traditional Danish meal if you’re fine with that. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try delicious open-faced sandwiches!

Anyone visiting Copenhagen should try a real Danish smørrebrød - here you can get very tasty and almost artistic interpretations of it. The breads are not exactly cheap at €10-12 each, but they are very tasty and of good quality. The selection is good, so there is something for every taste. There are also seasonal offers. Even if you sometimes have to wait a while, it is worth it! Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere outside. The local craft beers also go nicely with the smørrebrød. Definitely worth a visit!

I ordered Danish Meatballs and Butter-fried Fillet and really enjoyed. They sell authentic Danish food here; a must visit.

What a place to get some authentic smørrebrød. There’s a wide variety of choices and it’s fantastic to see people making the sandwiches in front of you while you eat. Limited seating options. There is bar stool seating around the back and sides.
