Halloween Town Costumes

Absolutely unacceptable experience at this store. My wife came in on Halloween night to make a small $20 purchase for our son’s face make up. Staff demanded to see ID, which she did not have with her, and instead of handling the situation professionally they treated her with blatant disrespect and forced her to leave the store, leaving her in tears. When she asked to speak with a manager, the person who claimed to be a supervisor was openly rude, dismissive, and refused to give his name. This humiliating and unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable from anyone representing a business. I request that store management or corporate leadership contact me directly to address this incident. Employees who behave like this should not be serving customers.

I'll start by saying this place does have a parking lot. After pulling in and walking up multiple groups made remarks about not knowing that. It's not large but it exists. The selection of costumes was a bit eh. Mostly sexy X, Y or Z. Some kids and make stuff was available. Costumes were typically $70-$120 which is high but unfortunately it's the market for not just cheap decorated rainsuits. There is also no dressing room or restroom so expect to be trying on over your clothes. They have a 2 try on limit but I think they're a little more relaxed when they're not really busy. The atmosphere is very Halloween with dim lights and decorations. Chances are you'll find something you like but if you don't there is always spirit Halloween with similar prices but a lot more of the really cheap plastic costumes. I found costumes for both my kids and it was about $160 if I remember right. A squid game(ugh) for my son and some sort of butterfly thing for my daughter. Staff were helpful and friendly so just ask if you're looking for something specific and don't see it

I had a very disappointing experience at this store. The service was unprofessional, and the staff were unexpectedly rude and unable to resolve a simple issue I faced. Instead of offering assistance, they asked me to leave the store. I truly believe that this level of customer service is unacceptable. If you are planning to buy a costume and don’t want to ruin your mood before Halloween, I would recommend choosing any other store.

The absolute worst costume store in Los Angeles by a mile. The store closes at 9pm but they close off sections as they want with customers in the store. The staff isn’t helpful nor very friendly - all wanting the customers to get out of the store so they could get off for their Saturday night. Rude employees and unhelpful employees and not worth the commute for overpriced costumes. Go to Spirit or Playclothes across the street

Halloween Town consists of 3-stores of which take up nearly a city block; Specialty Props, Children, and Adult costumes outlets. The latter location has it all! Genuinely, frightening masks of just about every creature, devil, demon 👹, and well known characters from your favorite horror flicks you'll find! They carry an awesome selection of wicked accessories that will complete your creepy attire! Hallows eve is fast approaching, so fly, glide, limp, or crawl on over to Halloween Town before it's too late. The official headless headquarters, where you will find every "thing" you'll need to celebrate Halloween!🎃👻🍬

I haven't been there in a while since moving away. But, they are right on time when you need them. Happy that they are year round. A lil pricey, but a huge selection to choose from.

I want to make a formal complaint on everybody, including the owner shame on the owner that he called the police on me. Shame on him and shame on everybody I have disability. I’m a person with autism and the owner called the police on me. This is not fair at all. I’m really really mad shame on the owner shame on all the employees

Love this store since I was a kid, hasnt been open past times few times I went. When will the store be operating and correct hours i do wish to get my Halloween costume there this year

An absolute gem. Wide selection of high quality products, engaging and knowledgeable service, and incredible value in terms of accessibility, convenience, and community value. This is the type of store that I always wanted growing up, but never had until coming to Los Angeles. A year-round costume and prop store, with horror enthusiasts working the beat and a constant stream of classic movies on the monitors throughout the space. Super cool, and a constant lifesaver for whatever ad hoc creative needs there might be! One thing: the hours can be irregular, so just make sure to call ahead before stopping by. Highly recommend.

Massive and endless depths of costumes on costumes in the best way possible. I was hoping to get some cosplay inspiration but the costumes are run of the mill (not bad at all) and very standard though they do have some unique versions of a few disney related characters especially in women's. The service here is a bit lack luster and it almost fills a little low on the fun side considering the theme and selections including props. Cool DC related costumes in kids and a few in men's but especially ladies. They have just about every variation of Harley Quinn from animated/classic comic/cartoon to Birds of Prey: The Emancipation of Harley Quinn. The guy who offered to help us was a touch stand offish when we actually had a question or two so we just figured some things out ourselves and enjoyed exploring a bit. Unfortunately this location like many of the Halloween Town franchise don't allow photography and honoring that rule I wasn't able to take any pictures to share. The parking in the area is the same as Halloween Town (the main store) as it's mostly side street residential and take what you can get via Magnolia Blvd though HT Costumes has a physical parking lot. The prices are reasonable to high with very few deals expect on some miscellaneous clearance items.

This store is shamefully overpriced but one of the better places to get accessories in a pinch. The guys that work here are nice but the girls are awful. They all act as if it is a super inconvenience to answer a question or lift a finger to help. The heavy girl with the green and black hair behind the counter with the fangs was actually hostile towards me. Wtf???

This place used to be such a "go-to" for costumes and props. Don't bother now. First off it's overpriced for mostly the same things you can get at a Spirit store. The WORST part is it is OCTOBER and they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I drove from the westside (my bad for not checking first) to find out they are closed and only open from 12-7 Wednesday-Sunday. What Halloween store doesn't stay open or at least extend their hours during OCTOBER.. for HALLOWEEN!!.. FAIL

The prices are ridiculous and exchange policy is awful. I couldn't try on a costume I bought for $100, when I came home to try it on it was so awful and unflattering. I trying to return or exchange and they said no.

Decided to stop by since it was the closest Halloween store to us. We saw there was a line outside so I decided to drop off my teenage son and his friend while I did an errand nearby. After 15 mins, I got a call that they weren't allowed in because they were under 18 years old. WTH???? But once I read the reviews about this place, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Would rather bring my business somewhere else!

So disgusted and disappointed. Ive been planning a big detailed costume and have been to this store in which the staff was awesome and patient with me. I did spend sometime and asked alot of questions and left without anything because i was waiting to get paid to go back. i go back to the store just to find out the employee that helped me got fired just because she took the time to assist a customer. I want to apologize to them because I didn't realize i cost them their job. If the owner and management dont want to provide customer service or help the people that keep their business afloat they should have a sign that we only have 1 minute to ask the employees for help. I have forwarded this to news stations and have asked my local influencer friends to share this story to bring awareness to support better companies.

I was out in LA visiting my 2 boys and I was looking forward to checking out this place however it was closed. Website said it was open but it's definitely closed. We journeyed to the main Halloween Town store and they didn't give any info as to why and just said it had been closed for a week. Super bummed. Oh well. Maybe next time.

This place is a SCAM. They don't allow you to open up the costumes or try them on in store but all items are final sale. I first bought some fairy wings that were so top heavy, they fold over your shoulders and look absolutely RIDICULOUS. I decided to give them a second chance and purchased a Freddy Kruger (Nightmare On Elm St.) costume for my boyfriend and it looks NOTHING like the picture advertised on the packaging. The material is cheap, the mask was completely different than the one on the picture. The mask is also is shaped like a square so unless your head is shaped like Spongebob, it will not look right. The actual shirt is advertised to look like a sweater with a distressed neckline but the shirt they give you feels like a tablecloth with a ribbon neckline that ties behind your neck and a HUGE slit down the back (imagine a cape backwards). I don't know any man who would want their whole back out in their costume, especially playing Freddy Kruger. I waited an hour both times to get into the store and spent over $150 for defective and cheap costumes that look nothing like they are advertised. The employees are sweet but the owner should be ashamed of the quality of their items. You are better off going to Spirit Halloween or ordering off of Amazon. Save your time and money.

Me and my boyfriend had to pick up last minute costumes and Lauren was an amazing help! She helped us try on the costumes and was knowledgable in knowing the costumes, and what to reccommend She was the best! Also great selection of costumes!

Wasted $80 Purchased a costume here for $80. I was unable to try it on in the store, I went home and put it on. It didn't fit correctly at all. I attempted to bring it back and all sales were final. I understand they are preventing people from purchasing costumes, using them and returning them however this was not the case. Horrible customer service!

I like this place, but they never answer the phone. It makes it difficult for people who are traveling from outside of Burbank. I don't understand why they don't have somebody to pick up the phone? Why do they even list the phone number?

Great selection and prices are fine. The employees are almost outright rude. Like, I get that it's Halloween weekend and your busiest days of the year...but a smile or instructions given in a non-snarky and condescending tone of voice would be nice. Not sure I'll return next year. Such an unpleasant shopping experience.

I LOVE this place! They have everything from costumes, masks, makeup and high end wigs. As a cosplayer, I'm here quite often for their accessories and makeup :)

Huge selection and very helpful staff. I was looking for some Pirate stuff and was walked right to the Pirate area.

This place has a ton of great items and costumes. Definitely with a visit. Most costume places are horribly organized and you don't know where to begin, but this place really has it together and their costumes are very well made.

I went in there with my family who are majority Spanish speakers to look for something to wear for a carnival this one lady I believe she was short and a blond streak in her hair refused to help us and was rude. Do we just continues to look around and I guess we looked lost and a girl with blue hair asked us if we needed help even spoke in Spanish to us if it wasn't for her we would have left empty handed she was very sweet and patient with us thank u blue hair girl I'm sorry we didn't get your name u made our trip worth it

The decor was nice, a decent selection, and the staff seemed ready to help, but the signs everywhere with restrictions seemed really unwelcoming. I can kind of understand the "No Photos" signs given that people may come in just to do that, but signs that say "No Facetiming" and "No Comparing Prices Online?" Seriously? There other signs telling you not to try on the hats that they had for sale. How would you know if they fit? It just all felt really pretentious.

Good costumes, no changing rooms you have to try on items over your clothes in front of everyone. You can only try on 2 costumes, which is ridiculous. Customer service is poor. Such a shame because it's a really big store with a lot of options too bad you can't try on more than 2!
