Tucked along Oahu’s east coast, Halona Blowhole Lookout offers some of the most breathtaking views on the island. With plenty of free parking and just a short walk to the edge, you’re immediately greeted by sweeping ocean vistas and dramatic coastline. The blowhole is fun to watch—sometimes you have to wait a bit, but it’s absolutely worth it. While we were there, we even spotted a whale activating its blowhole, which was an unforgettable sight!
Nearby, there are beautiful tide pools and a small cove with a beach that’s well worth exploring if you have the time. If you continue a little further past the cove, you’ll discover the Japanese Fishing Shrine—a peaceful, spiritual spot with yet another stunning lookout.
Whether you’re visiting for extraordinary photos, admiring the scenery, or hoping to spot whales in the right season, Halona Blowhole Lookout truly feels like a slice of paradise you’ll never forget.
