Haltia - The Finnish Nature Centre

Incredibly beautiful forest, complete with Cafe, Bike hire, accessible walking route, blueberry bushes, and even an open obstacle course.

The museum exhibition is rather small and oriented towards children. I have the Museum Card, otherwise I would wonder whether the entrance cost is worth it... Otherwise the Haltia building is nice, with clean toilets, store and restaurant. There is a very nice terrace next to the restaurant.

Haltia – The Finnish Nature Center is a great gateway to the Finnish wilderness. Beautiful surroundings, helpful staff, and easy access to nearby trails. Didn’t visit the museum, but the area alone is worth the stop.

The gateway to Finnish nature. - Haltia. Friendly staff, provides valuable information on forest trails, appropriate maps, hiking equipment rental. Gift shop & restaurant are all under one roof. Haltia building also has an accessible lookout point . Guided tours are available at a price but self guided map at your own pace is more fun and adventurous. It was raining on the day, hiking would have been impossible however thanks to the rain gear rental facility available for €5 deposit at the Nature centre. Enjoy buffet lunch or snacks and drinks at the restaurant or Experience 5 seasonal multi sensory journey upto the fells of Lapland at the museum. €12 admission fee. Nuuksio National Park is half an hour taxi journey from Helsinki. Explore the wilderness through marked forest trails and its panoramic nature views.

It was nice, some parts of the exhibition were really interesting, but the place was smaller than I expected and a month after visiting I don't think there was anything particular that stood out compared to other nature centers we've visited. Friendly employees, though.

The gateway to Nuuksion National Park. Informative, welcoming staff, disabled access, exhibitions, wonderful all you can eat buffet upstairs & gifts, adventure maps all on sale. First floor balcony overlooking lake & forests. Walks of varying lengths on offer - staff on hand to advise you on your adventure. I think it's a must stop & visit!

Lots of interactive exhibits for kids (and adults), beautiful scenery, lovely lake and sauna. If you can afford it, I'd recommend eating at the Lake Lodge Hotel next door instead though (the nature centre food is fine, but the lodge restaurant food is a step above).

An impressive piece of architecture near the pristine forests of Nuuksio National Park. Rent outdoor equipment, get a map, enjoy visual arts or try out Nordic delicacies, Haltia has it all. Guided tours, events & congress services available. Restaurant has vegan options available!
