Hāmākua Heritage Farm Inc

I went on a tour in the past week and it was amazing! The staff was friendly, informative and answered all our questions. The whole place is immaculate and they are doing an amazing job with their production. Our tour guide made stir fried mushrooms for us and it tasted amazing! The mushrooms they produce are extremely versatile and they make a great meat substitute! Very chewy and delightful. We also got a sample plate of the specialty snacks they were selling in the gift shop. Overall, it was a very great experience. I encourage anyone to visit at least once, especially those who are interested in cultivating or cooking mushrooms themselves!

I'm giving them 4 stars for answering the phone, being kind, and being able to answer my question about the tours. Unfortunately they no longer do the tours of the farm. I was sad to hear this. Maybe in the future, with more interest, they will start them again.

My parents and husband and I went on the tour yesterday. It was worth every penny! We learned so much about mushrooms. It was very informative and relaxing. Kenta, our guide, was very knowledgeable about mushrooms. We learned about the entire mushroom life-cycle. We got to taste the mushrooms at the end of the tour. It was a great experience!

Don’t go here. They stopped giving public tours in 2017. We didn’t get the memo and drove out from Hilo today to check it out. Mistake. Don’t do the same. Eat their mushrooms though, they’re delicious.
