Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort, Belize

We stayed at Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort about two years ago, and it’s still one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve had. The level of service and attention to detail stood out immediately. Within the first day, the staff had learned our names, which created a welcoming and personal atmosphere that continued throughout the entire stay. I also have dietary restrictions and food allergies, and the team was incredibly accommodating. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared, and I never felt like I was an inconvenience, which made a huge difference in being able to fully relax and enjoy the trip. The setting itself is beautiful, lush, peaceful, and immersed in nature. It feels removed from the busy world in the best way, while still being comfortable and well organized. The excursions were exceptional and very well coordinated. We especially loved visiting the chocolate factory, canoeing, river cave floating, and our day trip to Tikal. Each experience felt authentic, safe, and professionally guided. The Tikal trip in particular was unforgettable and absolutely worth doing. What really makes Hamanasi special is the combination of stunning environment, thoughtful hospitality, and expertly planned adventures. Even two years later, we still talk about how wonderful the experience was. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Belize experience that combines relaxation, adventure, and genuine hospitality.

Beautiful resort with excellent service. It was a highly organized operation. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very relaxed here and also was able to enjoy the adventures. I was particularly impressed with how the Hamanasi staff were able to accommodate dietary needs, with variety and great flavor! Vegan meals were not an afterthought. I would definitely come back and I don't normally like to go to the same place twice!

Hamanasi Resort is our new FAVORITE place to stay at! There is no comparison of the service, food selection, and location for this resort. It is like "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. They remember what you like at the restaurant. The tour guides are experienced and knowledgeable and make every tour memorable! The resort ensures that all of your needs are met at every tour, whether it is pre-ordering breakfast for an early bird-watching tour, or keeping the kitchen open for a late Jaguar evening tour. The snorkeling is spectacular with nurse sharks, rays, and so many beautiful and color fish. I highly recommend this place for anyone who travels to Belize!!

Hamanasi was spectacular, offering casual luxury at an amazing location. My tree house room was awesome, offering everything I could want in a very quite setting set in a forest. The food was outstanding with a good selection of options at every meal. The pool is great with many lounging spots in the shade. The diving and snorkeling were second to none; and they offer some nice forest exploration outings as well. I liked the small size... nothing felt busy or crowded; the staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. They are very flexible and customer oriented, doing their best to give you a great experience even when what you want doesn't fit their standard offerings.

My wife and I are currently at a sub par resort talking about how Hamanasi was one of the best experiences of our lives. -The food was beyond exceptional. Every meal was special, and they served a pork caldo soup that 7 years later is still the best soup I have ever had in my life. - the excursions were all fun (not very strenuous) but let you see what the forests and the ocean had to offer. -the rooms were huge, bedding was exceptional and the views were great. Very easy access to the beach.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Great location (albeit isolated), right on the beach, with lots of space to relax without crowds. The staff is amazing: At every turn they greet you by name and are engaging without overstepping. Quite a balancing act! To know: Rooms do not have blackout shades The jungle is noises so bring a white noise machine The service charge is not a substitute for tips. I wish they had been more clear about this. I asked several times and didn’t get a clear answer until we were on site. Highlights: Tours were all amazing. Guides wonderful. We did the canoeing, mayflower waterfall hike, and the cave and jungle. All our guides were great. Room was GORGEOUS Tons of wildlife right outside our room Food was fantastic Others have noted great wine list. I disagree. But it was reasonable. Could not have been any happier. FYI we were there as a family of four in a deluxe tree house with an 18 and 20 year old kids.

During my 2019 search for a resort near a healthy reef with gorgeous snorkeling, I had the good fortune of finding Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort in Belize. The Mesoamerican barrier reef system, the second largest in the world, is still healthy and beautiful. After 3 vacation years of snorkeling at Hamanasi I learned to scuba dive in Colorado and completed my open water certification in the Caribbean at Hamanasi. Family and friends who’ve ventured into our enthusiasm for this spectacular resort return because Hamanasi is a safe, welcoming, beautiful, ecologically engaged tropical paradise. |The people who care for Hamanasi are among the most warm, friendly and professional I’ve had the honor to work with. |The snorkel and dive boat crew are always conscientious of our safety, enjoyment, level of skill and the health of the ocean life. I’m impressed by their care of the boats and the ocean. We see amazing sea life, learn about the ocean and have a wonderfully fun time. |The beautiful buildings and grounds are welcoming and comfortable. Their concern and respect for the environment is obvious. Fresh, delicious food rounds out a spectacular experience.|Can’t wait to return in 2026.

From the moment we arrived, everything from the lush, intimate grounds to the warm, attentive staff set the tone for an unforgettable experience in Belize. This resort is perfect for travelers who want real adventure paired with genuine downtime. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the food was consistently excellent, and the overall vibe struck that rare balance of laid-back luxury and authentic local charm. We packed our days with experiences like the jungle canoe, Mayflower waterfall hike, snorkeling, and the Mayan tour, each led by incredibly knowledgeable guides who stayed with us the entire time, sharing history, answering questions, and making sure everything ran smoothly. You never feel rushed or herded; it’s thoughtful, personal, and well-run. One of the best surprises was how small and quaint the resort feels. You truly get to know the staff (they greet you by name every time you walk into a room) and even connect with other guests in a relaxed, social way. The pier became our favorite hangout—lounging in hammocks, spotting manatees, and watching the sunrise over the water was pure magic. A quick note for planning: this is not a resort I’d recommend for families with young kids. There isn’t much for them to do, and at times it can disrupt the otherwise serene, adventure-focused atmosphere that most guests are there for. All in all, Hamanasi is a 10/10. If you’re looking for a place that delivers unforgettable adventures, incredible service, and a peaceful, authentic setting you won’t find better. I couldn’t recommend it more.
