Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort, Belize

Hamanasi Resort is our new FAVORITE place to stay at! There is no comparison of the service, food selection, and location for this resort. It is like "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. They remember what you like at the restaurant. The tour guides are experienced and knowledgeable and make every tour memorable! The resort ensures that all of your needs are met at every tour, whether it is pre-ordering breakfast for an early bird-watching tour, or keeping the kitchen open for a late Jaguar evening tour. The snorkeling is spectacular with nurse sharks, rays, and so many beautiful and color fish. I highly recommend this place for anyone who travels to Belize!!

From the moment we arrived, everything from the lush, intimate grounds to the warm, attentive staff set the tone for an unforgettable experience in Belize. This resort is perfect for travelers who want real adventure paired with genuine downtime. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the food was consistently excellent, and the overall vibe struck that rare balance of laid-back luxury and authentic local charm. We packed our days with experiences like the jungle canoe, Mayflower waterfall hike, snorkeling, and the Mayan tour, each led by incredibly knowledgeable guides who stayed with us the entire time, sharing history, answering questions, and making sure everything ran smoothly. You never feel rushed or herded; it’s thoughtful, personal, and well-run. One of the best surprises was how small and quaint the resort feels. You truly get to know the staff (they greet you by name every time you walk into a room) and even connect with other guests in a relaxed, social way. The pier became our favorite hangout—lounging in hammocks, spotting manatees, and watching the sunrise over the water was pure magic. A quick note for planning: this is not a resort I’d recommend for families with young kids. There isn’t much for them to do, and at times it can disrupt the otherwise serene, adventure-focused atmosphere that most guests are there for. All in all, Hamanasi is a 10/10. If you’re looking for a place that delivers unforgettable adventures, incredible service, and a peaceful, authentic setting you won’t find better. I couldn’t recommend it more.

My husband and I stayed at Hamanasi for a week to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were looking for a place that combined relaxation with adventure and Hamanasi delivered on all fronts. It is OUTSTANDING. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience there. The food was incredible, the grounds immaculate, and the dive team was the best we’ve ever experienced. On top of all that, the service was exceptional. This is truly a special place. Don’t hesitate. Just go!

Wow! What an amazing trip we had. The location of Hamanasi is perfect- quiet but close to great diving. The staff at the resort were so friendly and kind. They offered personalized attention and went so far as to bake gluten free items for me each day. They also ensured I knew which menu items were safe to eat with my dietary issues (gf/df). We booked a private Mayan tour with the resort and Anastasio was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and made the tour very personalized, including an authentic Belizean lunch.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Great location (albeit isolated), right on the beach, with lots of space to relax without crowds. The staff is amazing: At every turn they greet you by name and are engaging without overstepping. Quite a balancing act! To know: Rooms do not have blackout shades The jungle is noises so bring a white noise machine The service charge is not a substitute for tips. I wish they had been more clear about this. I asked several times and didn’t get a clear answer until we were on site. Highlights: Tours were all amazing. Guides wonderful. We did the canoeing, mayflower waterfall hike, and the cave and jungle. All our guides were great. Room was GORGEOUS Tons of wildlife right outside our room Food was fantastic Others have noted great wine list. I disagree. But it was reasonable. Could not have been any happier. FYI we were there as a family of four in a deluxe tree house with an 18 and 20 year old kids.

My sister and I took a long weekend birthday trip to Hamanasi recently. From the minute we stepped foot onto the resort til the moment we left, we were treated to the most amazing experiences. The staff was super friendly. The bar tender made the most beautiful cocktails every day and there were complimentary bar snacks each day too that were delicious. On our adventures snorkeling in the ocean and kayaking in the jungle - Elmer was the most informative guide and fun loving person. We learned so much about the eco systems of the Caribbean and the sea life too. During our down times we enjoyed lying in the hammocks listening to the waves and reading. We also enjoyed the pool and were able to bike into the town of Hamilton to see the local businesses and people. We felt very safe doing this. I would highly recommend this resort.

Hamanasi provided the most amazing honeymoon experience from start to finish. The service is truly top-tier, the property is gorgeous, and the amazing experiences were unforgettable. Huge shout-outs to the incredible staff who went above and beyond: France and Densel who helped me regain the confidence to get back in the water and scuba diving! Mr. Bol was a wealth of fascinating information on Mayan culture and instantly made us feel at home. And thank you to Phil, Juan, and the bar team for keeping the great drinks flowing along with even better conversations and brain teasers. If you’re looking for paradise and world-class hospitality, Hamanasi is it. We can't wait to return!

The only reason I gave Hamanasi 5 stars is that 10 stars were not available! We were blown away by this resort! The staff consistently went out of their way to make us feel like answering our questions, or arranging our excursion was the most important thing they would do that day. The food was amazing - and the portions were incredible. (I got in the habit of ordering a child's portion and still couldn't eat it all!) We loved that Hamanasi provides its own guides for land/jungle tours and for SCUBA and snorkeling. We felt safe and assured that our guide(s) provided the best experience possible. We had the pleasure of staying in a deluxe treehouse. It was beautiful - tucked away in the canopy of the jungle, where we watched hummingbirds and coatimundis in the trees. We enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking or diving. I can't say enough about Hamanasi!!
