A real gem. Vegetarian place, lots of vegan options, all the soups and the salads, great hummus and even a cookie for dessert. Great vibe, cozy, and good AC so you can enjoy a soup during the hot summer. Decent prices, maybe a bit pricey.
We took onion and mushroom soup, hummus and frike salad.

Hamarakia offers hot soups in a warm and familiar atmosphere: even if difficult to find on the street, once inside you will be surrounded by old fashioned stuffs.
Prices and tips are a little bit less familiar and warm.

Very delicious vegetarian food and friendly service. I tried a sweet potato soup, hummus and a salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. A chilled small place, not touristy, liked it very much.

This is a very special restaurant to me - not just because the food was so fresh, delicious and in a big portion with a very good price, but the staff and the owner were both very sincere and lovely people! They made you feel very welcomed! This is the best hummus and cauliflower soup Ive ever had in my life, they cooked with love♥️ its a shame that it was our last night there, wish I could stay longer and try other dishes! - Sending you love from Hong Kong!

The most important thing beforehand: Hamarakia is not just a pure super bar. I found the restaurant by chance on the day I arrived and came back three times. The dishes are all vegetarian/vegan and are prepared fresh daily. Even though the selection is rather small, there should be something for everyone. What I liked most was that the recipes vary from day to day and although I had shakshuka twice, it was slightly different each time but still tasted great. The prices are reasonable and even relatively cheap compared to other restaurants in the area. Because the dishes are all prepared, you don't have to wait long and everything is well done. The chef/owner knows what he is talking about and is happy to explain the menu and individual dishes to anyone who is unclear. All in all, it was a feast for me and I will come back on my next visit to Jerusalem.

Let's start by saying that Hamarakia is open on Fridays: useful to know for the Sabbath.
The owner welcomed us with warmth and sympathy: the main dishes are soups, all prepared on the same day, without opening jars.
The owner says he does it by choice and not because he wants to get rich ♥.
The soups are really delicious: the sweet potato, ginger and orange soup is special. He also excellent lentil soup and humus.
The environment is informal, it feels like being at home with friends.
The bill is honest.
In the end they offered us a local amaro.
Ah, the owner speaks French and English well!
Basically if you are in Jerusalem you have to taste a Hamarakia soup.

A wide choice of hot soups everyday. At least six varieties. My favorite are tomato and lentil soups.
One can find here a salads and pastas as well. Very cheap drinks including alcoholic spirits.
The place is homey, shabby with a very young eaters, drinkers and singers 🎸
