Always a nice place to visit for good food. They have expanded the dining area since I was last there, and the vibe there is better with seating less cramped than previously. The fish soup is always to die for, but the fried fish this time was off... Too salty overall. I couldn't finish my artic char because of how salty it was. A pity, but I'll still definitely come back if I have the chance.

It’s always a pleasure to go back to this place, one of the best fish places in the Uppsala town! It has a very calming atmosphere and the food is topnotch!

The vitrine of the restaurant catched us with all the prices exposed and it was a good catch as once inside we could admire all the fish delicacies in their counter. The waiter was so kind to explain all the fishes and their receipts. Food was delicious, service was great, atmosphere very pleasant. Large selection of white vines & champagne. Definitely to reccomend if in Uppsala.

I see the hype, and it’s worth it! Delicious local seafood, great oysters and some friendly staff :) also the garden seating is pretty darn cute

A really nice place with some of the best fish I have had for years. Restaurant does not look like much from the outside but it is really really good. Prices, for one from Denmark, very reasonable for both food and vine. Highly recommend!

The food was great and the service kind, but we had 4 different staff members in total to bring the dishes or ask for anything else. Yet none was willing to say anything about the food (despite having ordered mixed plates, like “this is…” and “here we have…”). I think a high quality restaurant should have one dedicated host per table that takes better care of the guests. Yet nothing to complain about the food!

Everything was 10/10, I imagine the lesser reviews are from people who don’t know good food or expect too much from waitstaff everywhere they go. Food - 10/10 Incredibly fresh seafood, zero harshness or “fishy taste” every flavor is delicately balanced with the next. I got the sampler appetizer upon recommendation from the staff, and each was so good that I couldn’t choose one for a main course. Again I asked my waitress for the most traditional Swedish dish and she immediately pointed me to the Röding. Not a mistake. It was delicious and again everything was in a delicate balance. Nothing was greasy, overly salty, dry, etc. Waitstaff - 10/10 I feel like I already covered this but they were extremely helpful to a newcomer in the country. Atmosphere - 10/10 I just loved it. People in here complain about it eating next to a fishmarket? FISH IS ONE OF THE TWO WORDS IN THE NAME. they have fish and it is delicious. Do not miss this place if you fly to Arlanda.

Good fish restaurant. Food is fresh and tasty. Tables are small for all the plates and shellfish could have been more for the price. Bathroom not adequate for this kind of restaurant. Have been there again with group. No change in rating. We had the extravagant shellfish platter and it was mostly usual prawns, some crab legs and yes half of a (small) lobster each. Overall very good but no surprise. We were there again and had the menu which was excellent. I increase to 5*

Nice upscale fish restaurant near center of town. Service was prompt and professional. I had smoked salmon for starter and really enjoyed it. Came with fresh horseradish and sour cream. For entree I had the boulibase (not sure how to spell it). The broth was excellent but overall it was too large and I couldn't finish. Generous portion of different seafood. Would definitely return.

This is, with no doubt, the best restaurant in Uppsala, which it has been for many years. The service is fast, pleasant and very professional. The food is absolutely incredible and the selection of dishes is great. Very nice wine list as well. The locale is chic and inviting, looks bright and very upscale. Lovely to dine outside during the summer. The prices are fantastic, especially during lunch. They have really great catering too. I have never, ever had a poor experience at this establishment, and I don't expect too anytime soon. I couldn't possibly rave about them enough. I strongly advise anyone visiting Uppsala to eat at Hambergs!

What luck to find this place! Highest rated on Yelp for a reason, it was also in our guidebook. Fantastic seafood.
