We stopped for a couple of nights in Strahan (a veritable tourist trap after the drive from Hobart with the 99 bends) and decided to have dinner here on both nights. We had oysters kilpatrick, 2 steaks medium rare (that were over priced and over cooked, as in well done) and 2 salmon with a maple sriracha glaze (which was also over cooked to the point of being dry). For dessert we had 2 churros (these were great) and 1 sticky date pudding (that was meh at best). Indoor seating was not available so we sat outside for both nights as the weather was great, sunny and breezy cool. Outside seating implies you don't have an assigned waiter/waitress and need to order at the counter. Shreeya, the hostess on both nights who has the worst possible tone and attitude and also lack of customer service, suggested I make multiple trips in and out as I had my hands full with the table number, a bottle of water and glasses. Other staff were always helpful, though her attitude and lack of assistance in a customer service role did not meet even the most basic level of expectations. My daughter asked Shreeya for ketchup for her chips on the 2nd night and after finishing half her meal nothing was brought to us. I had to stop eating and go ask for ketchup as Shreeya had "forgotten" (it wasn't busy) and the chef had to provide the ketchup. The food was very expensive and the quality lacking. When I spoke to one of the staff about the over cooked fish and meat, her immediate comment in a knowing expression was "they should have cooked it less" , making me realise that this wasn't the first time the issue was brought up. Besides having a hostess lacking customer service, the quality of the dishes were significantly underwhelming to the point of being below mediocre. I would NOT recommend this restaurant nor visit it again if I pass through Strahan again.
