Good place to get fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, meats, handmade crafts, and Mexican food. Busy and bustling indoor space on a Saturday. Street parking and Green P parking available and the location is wheelchair and stroller friendly, with ramps. The area outside is run down but the market is well maintained and managed. It is a good way to spend a half hour to an hour of your day, especially in poor weather.

Much bigger inside than anticipated. Enjoyed our stop at Lina’s for coffee and treats. The empanadas (vegan and one chicken), with homemade tomatillo salsa, was delicious!

Great place to visit for fresh farm produce in Hamilton. We were also entertained. Look at pics below

My brother and I have been here many times. They do have people selling vegetables, fruit, meat, cheese, fish, etc. To pay our food items, most of them who served us accept cash, credit, and debit. We usually ask, or they tell us how to pay. Some of them have a sign saying cash only. I recommend you bring your own bags. We always bring bags just in case they don't have any. When we go on the work week, it is not too busy. Sometimes we go on Saturday, it's busy. I usually check their website on what days are open and their hours. I also noticed they sell flowers, flower pots, birthday cards, and bake goods. Depending on what days they sell their items. They have Washrooms with Wheelchair Accessible Entrances. They do have parking at their garage across the Farmers' Market. They do have Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lots and Entrances. We had to pay Most of the time, we park on the street. We put money in the meter. They only accept coins. They also have parking lots in the area. They have a machine to pay debit and credit. We received a ticket to put in our vehicles on the dashboard.

What a great market!! Stopped by Lina’s coffee and got my first PSL of the season. Then tried a Portuguese tart from Rosa’s gourmet food. But I will definitely be back to try a sandwich from Nonnas and tacos from Latin food market both had HUGE line ups. Everyone here is so nice and friendly. Loved talking with the gentleman from Lina’s coffee his mother in law started it over 33+ years ago and I think his wife has the pastry stand across from him! They also have a beautiful bell clock that chimes every 15 mins I believe with little characters that spin around! Lots to explore and taste here definitely worth a trip in for a variety of fresh produce, meats and seafood on top of being a great lunch spot

Google
A good place to drop in if you want to grab some produce, pastries, and a quick bite. There were a handful of vendors that offered different products and services.

Google
Next to the library and can enter from York blvd. possible exit into the Jackson square mall can lead you to the underground parking entering from inside mall. Plenty of stores from clothing to deserts or alot of food concessions so I'm sure you'll find something at a good price for the quality per item and some concessions have a total item purchase limit. fresh foods from Canada and USA and I'm not sure if from anywhere els. as it's been a while since I visited. I'll update this review asap next chance I visit and make a purchase. family oriented and Canadian pride is expressed here. Staff are welcoming, happy to be working and give deals possibly and services with a positive and happy expression to give an awesome enviornment for shopping. I think they also follow holiday's and brings in as many discounts or deals or shopper's specials for everyone. I don't know if they have any gifts for regulars and if shoppers get a points system but if they implement them at some concessions then that would be a good incentive. 🥳👍

Conveniently located in Hamilton’s downtown in Jackson square, beside the Central Library. Great prices on some of the produce ( especially strawberries on a Saturday), cold cuts, cucumber, tomatoes and baked goods. Has a sandwich shop Nonno, a coffee shop, florist, gift shop,… you can get almost all your fresh ( and some non perishable ingredients) from this farmers market. Open from Wed to Saturday ( closes at 5 on Sat hence cheaper prices on some fresh produce in the afternoon)

Yelp
This place is huge. It reminds me of the St Lawrence market in Toronto (not quite as big). There are a lot of vendors where you can eat as well as vendors for take-home goods. There is a parking garage across the street where you can get 1 hour of free parking if you get a vendor to validate your ticket.

Gary W.

Yelp
A great place to meet your local farmer and get such a wide array fine meats cheeses and fruit and vegetables at reasonable prices.

Chuan C.

Yelp
This farmer's market is huge, located in downtown Hamilton. There are 2 levels and is nicely decorated. There are so many vendors. The whole place is welcoming. They are only open Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun. I think this place is better than the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto. For example, the food vendors are more like restaurants and have seats for their customers. I might do separate reviews for a few vendors.

Yelp
What a fun funky spot to grab Saturday breakfast. We were driving through Canada and happened to stay at the Sheraton (attached to the mall.) We also picked up some fresh fruit and a bottle of local wine. My son and I are vegan and had plenty of options.

Jay L.

Yelp
You can find a wide variety of eats, treats, and meats from artisan producers that line every nook and cranny of this place. You can always seem to discover something new to feed your foodie soul. It's a bright clean space that has artisan producers of all things sprinkled everywhere. We were able to find street parking nearby and only realized after-the-fact that the nearby parking lot adjacent to the Farmers Market offers free parking for the first hour. We ended up dining at Pokeh and also tried some samosas at the Indian booth on the main level. There was so many more we wanted to try but not enough stomach. This is a great spot and will love to come back when we are in the Hammer again.

Yelp
Everything is fresh and amazing, I used to come with my grandfather when I was young and learned the art of bartering!

Yelp
Were tired of going to st Lawrence market, so headed the other direction for the HFM. For our first trip, were unsure what to expect. Was smaller than expected but absolutely packed with delicious food options and produce. Our first stop was a large baked good stall on the lower level. Purchased brownie, Nanaimo bar, date square and some cookies. The date square was delicious! Then I grabbed the pork belly banh mi at Nam Nom in the food court. Omg the best thing I ate all day! Also picked up a big steak, pepperettes and British pies. On the way out, be sure to stop by Sensational Samosa! I was hesitant to spend 6 bucks on a butter chicken samosa, but oh man was it delicious! Worth It, give it a try. Beyond that, just amazingly warm customer service at this booth. We are definitely returning for a fistful of banh mis.

Yelp
Love the market and the many reasons to visit, but want to give a special shout-out to MEXICAN KITCHEN - a pure delight in every way and always worth a stop (lower level). Tasty North East Mexican food is made fast with the freshest ingredients. Never disappoints. VEGAN, VEGETARIAN and GLUTEN FREE options!! Lovely staff. Charming decor brilliantly transports you, with both bar and table seating available, even hooks to hang your shopping bags. (I showed up in a wheelchair one day and there was a comfortable amount of space at a corner table - worth noting for those of you on wheels or with walkers). Solo or with company, another great reason to make time for the market. *And they're doing take-out orders July 2020, call 'em up 289 808-2128*

Yelp
Crowded and cramped. Really narrow hallways. Some vendors are friendly and nice. ( great P.R But one in particular was very BAD. The person working at " GOURMET VEGGIE FOODS" Just ignored me apparently the paper he was reading was more important than making a sale. Nothing really good. ALL other vendors get two stars.

Tim L.

Yelp
Really great place to visit for groceries and a meal. Long time farmers have had stalls here for a long time selling the best of local produce. You can also buy fresh bouquets of flowers from Josie, one of the friendliest people around. Hot meal selection is bar none. Pokeh started it all then others followed like Best on Bread and Cake and Loaf. A great place for lunch or snack.

Yelp
The Farmers Market has gradually, slowly, incrementally upgraded over the years. I used to run through their just to get to the street and I remember it as being dark and slightly sketchy. They still have your butchers, bakery, cured meats, and cheeses. But now, they have expanded to a more hippie café vibe. They have ramen, icecream, Mexican food, vegan bakeries and food. I gravitate towards the tacos and ramen. The natas (Portuguese tarts) which are delicious. STAY AWAY FROM THE COFFEES! The coffees my boyfriend tried 1. Was watery but bitter at the same time. Definitely not worth the $3.5 it cost 2. Was watery and did not have the bold coffee taste the gentleman claimed it would have I suggest you go to the ramen place on the bottom or the pokeh. They are both slightly expensive but worth the experience! Definitely go to Henry's for icecream. A little too sweet for me but perfect for kids and those who have a sweet tooth. Overall, I'd come once every couple of months just to walk around but definitely not a weekly occurrence for me. Prices are okay but not ideal, especially for the demographics that live around.

Yelp
I was once a regular at the old Hamilton Farmers Market so I had to check out the Market after it's $16 million dollar renovation (that figure includes work on the Hamilton Public Library as well). Visually, there hasn't been a drastic change. It still has a similar look and very familiar feel to the old Market. The one glaring difference to each stall is a fixture that was installed which holds each vendors sign. This change certainly closes off the view from one side of the market to the other (almost makes the market feel smaller) and takes away a bit of the rustic feel that the market once had, but does allow customers to easily identify who each vendor is. One point of contention is the fact that the market is closed on Monday's and Wednesday's. For a downtown core that has been hard hit economically over the past decade, one would think that the market would want to capitalize on the business it can generate between Monday and Friday. Many business professionals frequent the market for lunch, so I found it shocking that the market is only open three-fifths of the week (Tuesday, Thursday & Friday). In my opinion, I didn't think the market could afford to be closed during the week and at a time when so many professionals and potential customers are in close proximity, but I suppose only time will tell whether the hours remain the same moving forward. If you are looking for good quality meat and cheese, be sure to check out Sam's Cheese & Meats. They have been a staple at the market for many years and offer great quality items at some of the best prices in town. You can easily find cheese at Sam's that is half the price of what you'll find at the Cheese Shoppe on Locke Street. With their great service, jovial attitudes, and passion for their food, it will come as no surprise that Sam's Cheese & Meats is one of the busiest vendors in the Market! What does everyone else think of the newly renovated Hamilton Farmers Market?

Yelp
Amazing! I stumbled upon the market by accident because I was in the search for a certain cupcake shop. It might be because I rarely go to farmer's markets so I don't have high expectations but seriously I really liked this place! There was soooo much fresh produce. I got some giant peaches, ears of corn, super sweet oranges, and of course cupcakes. The outside is super sleek and snazzy looking, the inside didn't really have a market feel (all the walls are white and just.. normal..) but i really appreciated the fact that it was clean and it did not smell. I had a really fun time roaming the market and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
3.5 stars. Great little market located in downtown Hamilton. There are some good gems to be found. If you or any one you know likes honey, I'd recommend the booth on the lower level right at the foot of the stairs. The operator is super knowledgable in honey and has some amazing samples that he will offer. His wife is a sweet heart selling her delicious pastries. Highly recommended is the Portuguese custard tart. Best I've ever had. Also noticed a lot of fresh wild caught fish at reasonable prices. Cheese and deli meat also looked very palatable. We had the samosas at the booth when you walk in but they were over priced for what they were. What I learned here is that you need to dig deep, get to the shop operators and they will all reward you pleasantly. With that said, this market needs some improvement. More variety of operators with a lot more delicious food that can be grabbed on the go.

Yelp
Very cool Farmers Market. Down to earth attitude. Great prices! Worth it to go check this place out. Make sure to grab a coffee from Julia (she's in one of the corners). Delicious!! Good selection of meat, cheeses, and produce. Thumbs up Hamilton Market!!!

Veronica J.

Yelp
Smaller than your average farmer's market. And you gotta park underground and walk through a mall. But you go to these things for the food. So if you don't mind the walk it's worth it with the kind of food that awaits you! I had the poke dish, Ethiopian coffee and churros. I'm coming back for more!

Susan M.

Yelp
I've shopped at Sam's Cheese and Meats for many years and I'm very disappointed by a recent experience. They're selling bocconcini cheese and labelling it as buffalo mozzarella. Buffalo mozarella is made from buffalo milk and is much higher quality than Bocconcini. A couple of times I've asked them to change their sign, as this is very misleading. I'm surprised that a business that has been around this long would engage in this type of thing.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
TIP: There were signs that stated that vendors will validate parking for 1hr. I paid $3 for parking across the street, so I'm guessing that the validated parking is for the underground. This place is soo CUTE! Sure, it's not big, but it's indoors (so you don't hafta fight against the elements), there's plenty of parking (1hr validated!), it's not crowded/hurried/pushy, & vendors were quite friendly. Less than 1/4 size of St. Lawrence. I came on a particularly humid day while Supercrawl was going on, so the Market really wasn't that busy. Not sure if it's busier on any regular Saturday afternoon. There was a clean food court downstairs and it was fairly easy to find seating if you wanted to. There were a few stalls that were closed, but again, not sure if that had anything to do with Supercrawl. We don't have anything like this in Mississauga, so Hamilton is lucky to have an indoor Farmer's Market that I'm assuming runs year-round!

Yelp
This place is great. Not too huge or crowded so shopping here is convenient. Pretty much everything you want under one roof. Organic veggies, meats, cheeses, fresh bread, mennonite pies, free run eggs and fresh pasta made onsite. Homemade items made with love. The vendors are all very nice people who love what they do and can tell you a hundred things about what they are selling. Prices are good and the quality of most of the offerings is outstanding. Forget the big grocery stores filled with processed, factory food. This is where you should be shopping. You can taste the difference buying farm direct makes.

Heather S.

Yelp
This market is super cute, it has everything you need! Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and tasty treats to boot. I wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat all the vegan treats.

Joyce L.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE! amazing vendors and places to sit and eat! I tried out Henrys ice cream parlour, Portuguese egg tarts, chips square (exactly like rice krispy square but ruffles chips), pokeh (must try!!), and tacos!!!! I love exploring this place it really is a foodies dream!

Rachel E.

Yelp
Fresh food and very reasonably priced. Will be coming back again. I prefer not having cilantro in my food which is always being used these days so maybe ask for it in advance. Thank you.

Jackie P.

Yelp
Great place to find all your needs. Great customer service and amazing foof at fantastic prices. Can't recommend more

Tina O.

Yelp
One of my favourite places in Hamilton to go. I would spend a few hours combing through the booths and find the most decadent treats and produce. The best part of it all is the pricing, I would buy 3 big bags of produce for no more than $15. Best place to check out is the lady with the all natural products and a vast array of spices for very reasonable prices.

Mary M.

Yelp
Sam's cheese!I was there yesterday, the l older lady with the light hair didn't smile got my order wrong."I said mortadella Xtra fine and it was thick, it's Italian costum to slice it fine,u should no better u r working Italian stand!....I was there for a few minutes before some else and she service him first.Ill never go back that lady should collect her pention maybe she can't hear!

Judy W.

Yelp
The farmers market is fantastic!! I'll go with a list of different things I'll need to grab and I'm able to get everything there! They have great selection for fruits and veggies stalls & cheese and meat stalls, its one stop shopping! Sam's Meat & Cheese has by far one of the best painini I have ever had - highly recommended!!!
