"Hamilton Grange “It’s quiet uptown.” So sings founding father Alexander Hamilton in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical. While those ticket prices are still astronomical, it’s free to visit and tour Hamilton’s uptown home in Harlem—named the Grange after his grandfather’s Scotland estate and now a National Historic Landmark. Rather like Hamilton, the two-story Federal home has had a turbulent history, including a few moves, most recently in 2008 to St. Nicholas Park, within the boundaries of Hamilton’s original 32-acre estate. The period rooms were renovated in 2011, and 13 sweet gum trees planted outside, just as Hamilton had done in honor of the original colonies."
The least interesting part of this park, mostly just a waypoint to start walking the park and the college. There is no season that this walk is not incredible. I've done it in heavy snow, downpours, at night (now) etc. and it's always great. Go halfway back down the park and then wind through the college and wonder why they built a literal castle to teach 18 year olds in
Sad to say, I had no idea this was here! What a really cool place to visit. The tour guide was amazing. She had so much knowledge to share and we really enjoyed it. And, it's free!

Had a great time after only knowing about Hamilton via the musical. Went on the tour with one of the park rangers and they were very informative. Area is a little sketchy but if you want to go I would recommend it!

As a fan of the musical “Hamilton”, visiting the grange was a dream come true. Didn’t have to wait long for the tour, and our tourguide was knowledgeable on the house and the Hamilton family considering he was a volunteer. Beautiful and well maintained memorial with amazing infrastructure since it was moved more than 2 times. Took around 30 minutes to get here using the subway from midtown manhattan.

The Ranger that gave the tour was great. I love all the period pieces. It was extremely informative and eye-opening. So little is known about his history and his beginnings but this tour was great. I highly recommend checking out one of the several restaurants that are within a one or two block walk.

Park service personnel at the Grange for fantastic. The information available was interesting and well worth the read the read. I highly recommend a visit. Anyone who is who is interested in the history of the early days of the United States and apart? That's fascinating man. Played in helping it start successfully.

We saw the Hamilton show on Broadway and came here the next day. It was really interesting to see the reality after the story. The tour guide was great, and the story of how they moved the house was amazing. I would definitely combine this with seeing the show. It adds a lot more depth.
