8 of the world’s best golf courses - SilverKris

"The only championship course in Australia located on its own island, this Dent Island layout—designed by five-time British Open winner Peter Thomson—spreads across broad ridges and steep valleys and presents obstacles like strong coastal winds and thick bushland. After a demanding round, players can relax in a well-appointed clubhouse with serene views over the Whitsunday Islands and the Coral Sea; the course is best suited to serious golfers aiming to elevate their play." - Vanessa Tai

(Played 21/10/25) The course is phenomenal. Without doubt the hardest but most picturesque I have played. The service however, leaves a lot to be desired. The boat and welcome were great. The pro told us that a food and drink cart would meet us on the front and back nine, the bar would have sandwiches and snacks to buy at halfway and to enjoy the day. Got to halfway and went to the clubhouse to get something to eat…. There was 2 cherry ripes and a couple of bags of peanuts. When we asked if there were sandwiches or hot food to buy, we were rudely told, “no” by the man at the bar. When I asked could we get some sandwiches made, “no” was the direct answer! Back out on the course for the back nine and no food/drink cart in sight. When I questioned the pro when we got back he said that the FB staff were busy…. The were less than 20 people in the whole club! For a venue and course of this caliber and for the price you pay ($250) you do expect to be able to buy some food for lunch during a 5 hour round. The other point being they know exactly how many people are on the course well in advance due to having to book, at least cater for that many people. Enjoy the golf, take snacks. Edit: Looking through some recent reviews, it seems this is quite common. Maybe a change in manager/staff required.

Had a very nice lunch at the golf club today. Both the entree and the main were fantastic, and the view from there was great. The service was nice too. Would recommend to go there for the food. Haven't played golf, so can't comment on that

Definitely one of the best golf courses I have played with stunning views. Course is very well maintained and a very challenging course with tight fairways, don’t wanna be missing left or right. Highly recommend bringing extra golf balls. Staff were amazing

Knowledge, helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful but challenging golf course. Top notch feed (chicken burger) and beer after the game. Perfect day!! (other than my golf score) haha…

Attended for lunch set 2 course with boat transfers at about $100pp. Exquisite food and glorious views over Whitsundays. Exceeded expectations. Book ahead. Thanks to the staff, especially Lily for a lovely experience. Save this for special occasions or date night.

Absolutely incredible golf club! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the course is incredibly maintained. I would highly suggest taking lots of balls, especially if you are not the greatest golfer. 10/10 views and nicely challenging.

Google
Tricky course with beautiful views. I only caddied but found 8 balls on the first hole. Our party probably lost as many. Nikki from WA who I met earlier in the week said they lost 15 balls and suggested you “hit straight”! So much fun. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. Watch out for the crows. A fully wrapped muesli bar was pinched from someone’s bag. The staff on the ferry and at the golf club are lovely, welcoming and provide really good quality clubs in the hire fee.

This golf course is wonderful and I definitely recommend it. We decided to come here at the very last minute and tried submitting the reservation request only one day before, but they responded us very quickly and confirmed our reservation. It was so smooth. You can borrow golf clubs and shoes. You can buy everything else you need for golfing. We only did 9 holes, but the course is spectacular that you can see ocean from almost all the holes as you can see from my photos ✨✨ I wish we had time to play the whole 18 holes

Yelp
This golf course on its own island just off the coast of Hamilton Island was opened in 2009. It's a spectacular layout with plenty of challenging tee shots and several blind approaches too. I would NOT recommend this for beginners as there are plenty of opportunities to lose balls here with errant and/or short tee shots. I was sent off first as I was a single which was very nice of them. It allowed me to capture a lot of the photos and videos I've included here without the pressure of others coming up behind me. Carts included GPS and they switched it to Yards vs Meters for me. Nice touch. Staff were all very friendly and eager to ensure we had a great experience. I rented clubs vs dragging mine from the states and found them to be quality and in good shape (Titleist) Only critical notes: - No beers available till 10am, not great with a 7:15am tee time. - No food available till 11am, take note.
