A 48-Hour Itinerary for Córdoba, Spain

"Hammam Al Ándalus offers a bath experience reminiscent of the 600 baths that existed in Córdoba during the caliphate. Located on Calle Corregidor Luis de la Cerda, it includes thermal baths and spa treatments such as a traditional kessa massage, ending with a relaxing massage using essential oils."

All I can say is INCREDIBLE. We had the absolute best day in Cordoba and this was the cherry on top of it. The staff were all so kind and welcoming, and spoke a bit of English as well. They guided you through the whole process and explained everything to you. We were never rushed at all and we got to take our time pampering ourselves. We got the Jazzar package which was so insanely relaxing. We loved our experience here so much, we are going to the Granada location tomorrow. Anna and Sergio were the people doing our Jazzar package and they were so friendly.

We had a really lovely experience at the hammam in Córdoba. The space is beautifully designed and has a calming, serene atmosphere. The interior staff were kind and very welcoming. The receptionist at the entrance wasn’t particularly friendly, but the rest of the visit made up for it. The decor is unique and adds to the peaceful vibe. Everything was clean and well cared for. I had a 30-minute massage with Iñaki, amazing massage, I really enjoyed it, he was professional and very skilled, I actually wish I had booked the full hour. My husband got a massage with Angela and had a great experience too. If you have time while in Córdoba, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Here’s why it’s 3 stars. My husband and I booked a 60 minute deep massage on our honeymoon at 10pm on a Wednesday. Positive: The baths were pleasant and Antonio was helpful and pleasant in showing us around and recommending the sequence of using the different hot and cold baths. We also liked choosing our aromas for the massage. Disappointment and Frustration: The massage was neither deep nor properly planned. We both felt like they didn’t know what they were doing and were just trying to pass the 60 minute time we booked. They spent too long on our back and didn’t do any proper massaging of the legs, nor any front body massage nor arms. The facial and head massage portion felt like they were just touching our faces in random places. It didn’t feel informed nor working on specific muscles, and it was all too soft. They could’ve divided the massage time 15 minutes back, 15 minutes legs, 15 minutes upper front, 15 minutes front legs - but they were repeating hand movements on the same areas and not doing a deep tissue massage for any muscles. The massage was really a waste of money. I would only recommend going to the Hammam for a relaxed evening/night. The girls bathroom/changing room was alright, the men’s very small showers.

I had a wonderful time at the Hammam in Cordoba. It was the perfect way to round off a hot and sweaty day of sightseeing in August! The staff were so welcoming and kind, guiding me through everything from how to use the lockers, where to hang my towel and where to go next. I was impressed with how the staff seemed to seamlessly keep track of which visitor was who and which service they had paid for, guiding individuals around different parts of the Hammam without intruding or making them feel rushed. English was spoken willingly. The website was very easy to use and I appreciated the thorough description of what each package included. I recommend the Bayyah stretching ritual. The changing rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped. The only problem was having to put my sweaty clothes back on after such a tranquil experience!!! I wish my local town had a Hammam such as this. Thank you to all the staff and especially to my masseuse whose name I forgot but she wore glasses and was excellent.

It was my first time visiting this Hammam today, I have, however, also been to Hammam Al Andalus in Granada. I booked it yesterday for today by the lovely Irene. I went today for my reservation and Met Christiana, who showed me around and gave me all the information I required. Christina was really pleasant and welcoming, and thankfully, for me, she spoke good English too. I loved the baths. There are several baths of different temperatures and a steam room. No phones, only gentle low speech allowed, which adds to the peace and serenity of the baths. Candles lit so very low lighting and calming relaxing music playing. I had a fabulous massage from Eva, who was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I felt like I was floating during my massage it was perfect. If you need some relaxation and you're in Cordoba, this a must.

Amazing experience! My masseuse Alejandra was amazing! My only regrets is I didn’t take the full massage and only go for the shorter one. The Hammam is so relax and nice. Feels like only ten minutes when staying there. Lovely patio and will be back if coming to Cordoba again!

Pretty amazing experience! I get that Cordoba is full of amazing things to do and this is not a cheap experience but if you are here and it’s a rainy day… two hours of pure bliss and peace! We didn’t try the massages but the pools and the sauna are pretty spectacular! I also really appreciated how well stocked the showers and vanities are!

The experience in Hammam Al Andalus was sublime. I went to a lot of Hammams in a lot of countries but the experience here is unmatched. From the interior design to the plentiful and friendly staff from all aspects it was simply awesome. The soothing and relaxing atmosphere is what everybody needs to leave daily haste and trouble behind to come out as a refreshed person. All i can say is that i regret deeply that you are not in germany. I paid 85€ for the following( there are different and cheaper options also): - the baths of which they have 4 pools, one warm, two hot and one cold...green tea as much as you want is always ready. -scrubbing down of skin and massing with soap bubbles - 30 min massage with an oil of your choosing It was all in all a 90 minutes experience. Definitly Recommended!!!!

Yelp
I'm the type of traveler where I won't feel guilty for having chill days. Yes, days where its okay not to be sightseeing and crossing stuff off the list. Days where you can enjoy a spa/massage, take a nap, and eat your way through town. This spa is hands down the most enchanting spa I've ever been to. The baths are like roman baths with columns, arches and marble floors. There are real candles throughout with non tacky relaxing music (soundtrack to fantasy video games). Its co-ed so everyone wears a swimsuit. They have a sauna room, cold bath, hot bath and warm pool. It feels like being transported back in time.

Yelp
What an experience. If there is one thing you must do after a long day of walking is to go here and experience the Hammam. My recommendation is to book this about an hour after dinner. They're open to midnight and dinner is usually at 9 or so - so wear yourself out and then indulge. Absolute serenity, peace and calmness will come over you. Lots of pools with natural spring water to soak in. There is an advisor who gives you a method of how to enjoy the baths. Warm, hot, cold then steam room. Do it! Your body will hate the cold bath but your mind will thank you. The facilities are top notch, clean, modern, and fully loaded. Shampoo, creams, towels - it's all in. Very reasonable price, friendly service, delicious tea and yummy chocolate. I paid €88 euros for 1.5 hours, including a 30min massage. As a Canadian - this was more than amazing! Enjoy!

Yelp
Was in the city for a day and thought to end our tour with massages. Online I booked for the wrong city only to call them and get in...but not for massages just soaking. Relatively convoluted location to find but once there they had decent service. The pools are incredible! Way better than Madrid by far much more exotic feeling. Wish we had time for massages but alas we had to get back to our bus to make it to our train. Still they what they could to accommodate my mistakes.

Yelp
We had a beautiful time at this Hammam. First we had some hot mint tea in the waiting area then we got directed to the locker rooms to change into our Swimsuit. Once changed, we went to the different baths, 3 of them with different water temperature. Amazing moresque interior around all 3 baths, where we relaxed and experienced the waters. Then we got our kessa session, witch is a wash with eucalyptus oil, foam and body scrub for 15 minutes. Then a 45 min massage with choice of essence oil. Finally we went back to the baths for a final relaxation. We spent a total of 1 1/2 - 2 hours (we lost time and space) for $180 total for the both of us. The personnel is very nice and attentive. Definitely a spa to go to. We will go again soon to the one in Malaga.

Yelp
Almost skipped out on this experience and I'm so glad we didn't! That was the best 1.5 hrs we've ever spent in a spot! The ambience, the spas, the massage, the tea, and the friendliness of the staff was the best you could've expected. Totally worth the money and if we get a chance we're totally going to come back! We are from the US and the experience was wonderful.

Yelp
Pretty bad compared to other baths/massages. Their layout wasn't very thoughtful as the hot baths weren't next to the cold baths. The change rooms for the guys were extremely small (only 2 change stalls and 2 showers). Our time slot probably had about 6-8 guys so you can imagine when we were all getting ready and leaving everyone had to wait. Massage was nothing special. Just came from Seville Aire. Www.beaire.com which was 5 stars compared to this place. Only good thing I can say is we got the student special for 25 euros per person with a 15 minute massage usually priced at 36 euros. Staff who were there was nice enough.

Yelp
Came here when I was on vacation, on the recommendation of a local friend. What an experience! Honestly it has spoiled me for any spa I could find in the US. The atmosphere here, in a historic building, is amazing. Long soaks different temperature pools felt so good after days of non-stop walking. The massage was great and I left feeling like I was floating on a cloud. Definitely worth the time and money.

Yelp
This was a fantastic experience! Tucked away around the corner from some old roman ruins... you would never know what's in the basement. The pools were wonderful and relaxing. Who do this again in a heartbeat. If I'm ever back I'll probably go twice!

Yelp
This place is a haven on a hot summer day. This was my first experience with an Arab Bath and Turkish Tea, and I loved it. I later visited Baños Árabes in Granada, but the Córdoba location is my favorite. Córdoba is a small town with rich history, and this place reflects it. The bath is a place to relax, to reflect, and to indulge in the moment. The architecture was also amazing. If you have the money, definitely splurge on this indulgence.

Yelp
Truly unique experience which takes you back centuries. The facilities were cleaning, the tea was excellent and the scrub on a marble table was like nothing I have experienced before. Really quite recommended.

Yelp
Beautiful Arabian baths. My body was beat down after two and a half weeks of traveling through Spain. During our Contiki our guide told us about this place and how many travelers came here to relax after so many days on the road and living out of a suitcase. We got a fantastic group deal for 28€ each. Probably some of the best spent euros on my travels. After checking-in and paying, I was handed my towel and given a wrist band. We were walked to the locker room where we put our belongings and rented a locker for 0,50€. A quick rinse in the shower and in we went to the room. The ambiance was quiet and the lights in the room were very dim. The facility consisted of three different types of pools: two cold, two hot and the main pool at a lukewarm temperature. They also had a sauna available. Every 15 minutes the massage therapists take a new guest. Once they called you up they removed your wristband. You will take your towel and lay it on the massage table of your selection. They will ask you what kind of massage oil scent you would like. I chose orange and was complemented many times on my scent after we left the baths. After about an hour and a half or two hours they let us know our time in the baths was over and we sadly had to leave. I felt like a new woman when we stepped out into the streets. It was an extremely rejuvenating experience and highly recommended to any traveler that wants to wind down.
