Hampton by Hilton Freiburg

We spent 3 nights at this hotel when visiting Freiburg. The staff at the front desk are extremely helpful and friendly. At night, there would only be 1 (2 max) working the front desk and the bar area. They were stretched and still remained calm and provided great service. If anything, the hotel owners need to step up and provide them more help to better serve customers. The rooms were very comfortable. Nice beds and good bathroom and shower. The only not so great things I noticed were dirty and stained carpets in the hallways. Breakfast each morning was great. It gets busy, but plenty of options for everyone. The hotel is a short tram ride and walk way. Very easy and a day tram ticket for Freiburg is very inexpensive. So, all in all, hotel is in a very good area. We enjoyed our visit! Thank you to the staff for being so friendly, helpful, and efficient. Hotel owners—provide your people with more help to service your customers.

The hotel was good and comfortable for a one-day stay. Though the rooms were a bit small, they were cozy and well-maintained. The buffet was tasty with decent variety. Best part – it’s located right in the city, making everything easily accessible. Overall, a pleasant and convenient experience.

Our stay was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and allowing us to check in early was a huge plus. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean. The location is perfect, situated near great restaurants and offering easy access to the city center and main train station. Highly recommend this hotel!

Mixed bag this place. Decent gym, bed was ok. Food was ok at best. (Great cafe across the road though). However the room A/C didn’t work, and despite complaining hotel didn’t do anything. Bathroom delivered a horrible smell of sewage intermittently. Didn’t match up to the rest of beautiful Freiburg.

Rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds firm, fixtures modern and functional. Breakfast delivered a reliable buffet of hot and cold items. But checkout was a let‑down: the receptionist handled the gate tax brusquely, clearly wanted the interaction over fast, and didn’t bode farewell beyond a silent exit.

Excellent. Got upgraded as a Gold member, room was comfortable, and breakfast was tasty with many options. Location is actually pretty decent, long walking distance to downtown/Munster area but attainable. Walked to Schlossberg in around 45 minutes and took the tram back to hotel.

Absolutely terrible hotel. The room was very dirty — there was trash on the floor, the towels were old, had an unpleasant smell, and were torn. The lobby and the hotel restaurant were just as filthy. In the lobby, your shoes literally stick to the floor. Needless to say, there were no cotton pads or cotton swabs in the bathroom. No slippers in the room, of course. The rooms were obviously small, but having a double bed only 140 cm wide is simply unacceptable. I tried to sleep on the sofa bed, but it was so uncomfortable that the metal frame pressed into my back. The hotel is not only old, but also completely neglected. I had planned to stay for 9 nights, but I moved to another hotel after just one night.

Both trip com and the Hilton website mentioned a balcony being included in the room we selected it wascthe main reason we chose tgis hotel over others.Unfortunately, on arrival, we were informed there are no balconies for any rooms in the hotel. The room itself was ok. No fridge in the accessible room. I'm uncertain why the difference? The location is walking distance to PT, the old town, restaurants and supermarkets.

On Princess for one day tour until May. 23 people, loads of rooms. As I pay for the entire party, I have the "we love you" plastic cards from most hotel brands. Used to be Diamond with Hilton, who graded my wife and me down as they do not credit me for group bookings. Also, reception says no status upgrades for HHonors members - as they are Hampton Inn, part of the Hilton group but with no obligation to honor the status. Fair enough. We canceled all further stays at the Hampton Inn on this tour. The hotel is OK, very clean, with great beds, and mediocre breakfast - basically what you would expect from a Hampton Inn. So if you are looking for a budget stay in the area, it's an OK place to stay, hence the 3 stars.

Great stay at this property. We stayed for a full week. The staff was pleasant and efficient and kept the property in great condition. The room was great, bed comfortable, pillows soft, and comforter was nice too. The shower was great, lots of hot water (at times it would go from hot to warm). Soap and shampoo were via pumps. Breakfast was excellent with a more than sufficient selection. Coffee from the machine was tasty too. The room had a safe and the internet was reliable. There was no noise feom the outside. We had no car and the tram station was a 5-7 minute walk. Excellent experience!

Nothing awful to say about this place! The Hampton inn by Hilton Friburg is one of the only chain hotels in the city and its really nice! I stayed here for 2 nights when I was visiting the city for work. I had a very pleasant stay here! The hotel location is a little bit away from the old town area, but it is walk-able. My colleague and I did it several times and it was not that bad. The Hotel is nice and the rooms are nice as well. Its your typical Hampton Inn Hotel. The beds were comfortable, the towels were soft, the bedding felt new. The staff that worked at the hotel was great, personable and kind. They offered great suggestions on dinner recommendations and were very friendly. The Train station is about a 10 to 15 minute car ride from the hotel. Its walkable but its not good if you have a bag with you. I would for sure recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area. I will prob be staying here again this fall. Check it out~
