Location is quite strategic, although the time when I was there, there were alot of road constructions going on and the traffic was abit horrible. The hotel itself is very nice, there is a breakfast area. Their buffet breakfast is nice and simple, variety changes with the days you stay there. The staffs are very friendly and helpful at all times, even when you go down in the middle of the night. There is no on site restaurant, so you would need to get lunch and dinner outside but there is a Bar there that you can get drinks - Alcoholic and non Alcohol drinks - along with a small variety of pizzas. Their rooms are very nice and comfy. No complains whatsoever about the rooms.

We arrived late to the hotel, and easily found a parking space at the big lot next to the hotel. Evening staff were super friendly, chatty and welcoming. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Great lighting. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was alright, had everything you could need. Proximity to the city center was a bonus.

Well located hotel as we were taking our ferry the following day.|Rooms are pretty small of a typical Hampton Inn per American standards, but comfortable.|Checking in took a long time due to a visibly incompetent clerk at the counter who didn't quickly get that I booked 2 rooms for my family.|The breakfast area is overcrowded at the time all cruises and ferry customers need to leave (8:30 to 9:30), not well planned as I do not see much other reasons to stay in this hotel. The food is ok but not well organized with many items located in the corners of the counter leading to inefficient access in a crowded setup.

I had a really awful experience at this hotel. We were three people sharing a room, which meant a double-bed and a fold-out sleeping couch. The hotel was well aware of this. When we showed up, the room wasn't prepared for three people. We made the hotel staff aware multiple times during the day and evening but they said that their laundry supplier had an issue and that they were short on bed linen. To be short on bed linen is one thing but the hotel and staff did not seem interested in or concerned about our issue and did nothing to help us. One person from our party ended up sleeping in the unmade sleeping couch with blankets we had brought from our car. Afterwards we asked to be compensated since we hadn't been given a room fit for three people that we had booked, but the hotel couldn't care less about it. Separately, the hotel logistically and service-wise seemed like a mess. The two elevators were completely overrun so it was impossible to get up or down from the 13th floor. Also at breakfast, they were out of most food items already at 9 O'clock and the general impression left by the hotel was a very bad one. I would NOT recommend staying at Hampton by Hilton in Kiel to anyone.

Staff are very rude and can’t be bothered to do there jobs. Was waiting at the front desk to be served and a lady noticed us whilst sat in the office before eventually coming over and saying rudely “What?!”. There are two elevators but they still take about 5-10 minutes if you call them due to the amount of people that use them and the fact that they’re slow. Rooms were dirty when I came in. No parking apart from the druggy infested one across the street. A substandard experience and definitely not a Hilton.

We chose this hotel after trying the Hampton By Hilton Kocaeli Symbol in Tyrkia. We booked 2 rooms for 2 parents and 3 children aged 4_13. We checked in 12.08 kl 20.00 . They gave us separate rooms in different floors! My wife and children at room 310 at 3rd floor. And me and my youngest son at 805 in 8th floor!!. no explanation.. as why they booked us in 2 different floors, only there seems to be a problem with the system. At the end the receptionist offered us something to drink as en apologies for the inconvenience!!! Hotel doesn't have it's own parking. We had to pay for the parking. We had really bad night sleep because of the separate rooms in different floors and with a shared blanket!! Breakfast is very humble & hopelessly undersized for the amount of guests. There is no space to sit on breakfast because of the poor choices & management. Nobody seemed to like it based on peoples leftovers. So we decided to eat somewhere else. When I asked for the free drink (Coffee) that they offered me.. The receptionist Magdalin Or Madlin.. Refused it without even looking and have face to face conversations. I was standing in front of my family and other guests and trying to explain to the receptionist that it's not the cost of 1 Coffee that's matter. Because I've already choose to book in this expensive hotel. But Your colleague the one who offered us this to express his regret for the mistake the hotel made.. But she didn't even looked at me not even once ( you need to pay for the coffee).. This is not the way you treat your guests. Is it because of my skin color or she's just rude. Sorry Hampton By Hilton KIEL but NEVER AGAIN.

We had a stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Kiel from thursday to sunday and ended up becoming prisoners of the breakfast. It all started when we 2 weeks in front emailed the hotel like asked when we called the hotel when asking for a bath stool, no answer at arrival. The thursday at arrival to check-in on our double booking together with a fellow couple, they got a room on 10th floor and we got one at 5th floor, we asked why when we booked together but that was just the way they did things. We got up on our room only to find mold in the bathroom shower and leftovers of somebody taking a shit in the toilet, the room smelled weird and it looked like greasy was running down the walls. We saw there was no bath stool and went to ask for one and they came with one 10 minutes later. We went to the city for the rest of the day, which by the way in general only write their info and menues in german(the city not the hotel). We got to friday and went to the elevator to wait for the opportunity to try out the breakfast. With two elevators running it took us 15 minutes to find an elevator to get us down to the breakfast (we are travelling with a user of wheelchair and therefor cant just take the stairs). The breakfast friday was tasteless and borring, they had little of many things which ended up feeling like nothing, they had eggs but no bacon or sausages, they had wafflemakers with premade dough that nobody seemed to like based on peoples leftovers, i was not impressed either, they where tasteless. The eggs was tasteless with a hinch of plastic. The whole breakfast was rarely refilled and you often went in ave. After breakfast we went out for the rest of the day and first returned at evening. Saturday we waited 10 minutes for the elevator, which was not too worrying, then we got to breakfast that had bacon and sausages to the eggs, but else everything was the same as friday. We went to the reception to ask for new towels as we had layed them on the floor as they said but no new towels came. We asked why we didnt receive cleaning or clean towles and was told that they only clean every third day, so you wont get clean towels in between unless you ask at the reception, we said it was all fine and went out for the most of the day. We came home to changed but dirty sheets which was called upon and fixed while we went out again for dinner. Sunday, the day we was leaving was like being a prisoner, the day before one of the elevators had stopped working and we knew it was going to be difficult to get down, so we went down to breakfast earlier(like 7:40) and it went okay, only 10 minutes wait again. We then after breakfast went to pack and was planning to leave. We walked out of the room 09:32 and waited at the elevator for almost an hour to get down, we ended up trying to contact the reception but they didnt answer, so we were stuck and couldnt leave the hotel. This was the first and last time visiting Hampton by Hilton. At the price-range, we can find better next time.

Very good stay for one night at this centrally based location. The staff were very friendly, efficient and polite at all times. A decent breakfast buffet was available and the room had excellent views across the city. It is just a ten minute walk to the central station.
