I’m a diamond member and this is my first hotel review. I am so impressed by the customer service at this hotel that I felt compelled to write a glowing review. From being greeted with a smile, peppy energy and room key at the ready, the friendly energy at the breakfast buffet, multiple workers on hand restocking and clearing out trash and the overall pleasantness of the environment, REALLY has made for a wonderful stay. I truly appreciated the reminder to sanitize before dispensing coffee for myself, especially in this season of norovirus going around. And lastly, the bed was super comfortable and the heater worked so well I had to turn it down to 66 when I normally set it to 72 in hotel rooms. Enjoy your stay!

The hotel is dirty, outdated terrible service. Shower curtain had dirty handprints on it. When I asked for my room to be cleaned they just pulled the blanket up over the sheet and pillows just how I had left them. |Here for a business trip terrible experience. I called and complained because at 10:30 at night a group of teenagers were here banging on doors and screaming. They did nothing, this went on for 2 of my 3 days I was there.

I brought my family to Mansfield to go snowtubing and this hotel was PERFECT! The rooms were spacious and all of the staff was extremely helpful. There was one particular staff member that stood out from the rest. The young man by the name of Jared was on the evening of our check out. Once we arrived home that evening (almost 4 hours away) we realized that we had misplaced a set of keys. I called and spoke with him and he assured me he would help me find them. He searched both rooms and even went to look in the trash for me because I thought it was possible I had accidently grabbed them when cleaning out a 15 passenger van. He took the time to call me and tell me he had done his best but he was not able to locate the keys. He did not have to put in the effort that he did, but it certainly made a difference in my mind. I am glad to report we did end up locating the keys, which then I felt bad that this young man had put in so much effort to help me. Either way if you need a great place to stay on your travels, I would highly recommend this establishment. Thank you again for all of your help!

The hotel appears to be nice but isn’t cleaned properly. There was hair all over the shower walls. I don’t think the room had been cleaned at all. Perfect location close to Snow trials and there’s restaurants nearby.

Was visiting relatives for Thanksgiving and stayed here. Daniel was at the front desk he was very friendly and helpful. Angela was the woman who did breakfast was friendly and was able to get me some fruit I could eat, I have dietary restrictions. She reminded people to use sanitizers. Angela was always filling up the food. The food was hot and plentiful. Had different hot food every morning we were there. Our room looked and smelled clean. Jarrod was helpful checking in my cousin, told us there was chocolate chip cookies and hot coffee and chocolate to warm us up. It was snowing and cold. Will stay here again if I'm in this area again. We brought in straws.

Far enough off the highway so there's minimal road noise at night, I'm a light sleeper and that's an important consideration for me. The bathrooms are real nice too, clean.

UPDATE 11/18/2024: Unfortunately, I have to give a negative update. This is something I do not like to do and only do it when I feel it's necessary. A few weeks leading up to when I booked the room, I called around to four or five different hotels to ask questions. One was asking about the depth of the pool since my grandson can't swim. The gentleman who answered did not know the footage so I asked him is it a pool that six yr olds play in and he said "yes". Well the shallowest end was '3.6. It came to my grandson's chin. So he was stuck on the little steps, it caused a lot of arguments. I booked the jacuzzi suite, specifically for the jacuzzi. Well when I started filling up the jacuzzi the water was dark yellow, almost brown. Most likely from it sitting. When I pulled out the extra bed from the couch there was popcorn, and no, we did not have popcorn there. So we couldn't use the jacuzzi, we couldn't enjoy ourselves at the pool, and I highly doubt the pull out couch bed had it's sheets changed because had they changed the sheets they would have seen the popcorn. It was in a place where I seen it as soon as I pulled it out. Just got to our room. We're staying in the jacuzzi suite. The front desk attendant was so friendly! We just got here ten minutes ago, but at first glance the room seems very clean. Keep in mind we haven't pulled back the blanket on the bed or anything yet, but at first glance the rooms looks very clean. It definitely needs some updating and it would be nice to see the carpet removed. There is carpet up against the jacuzzi, not a very good idea. The jacuzzi looks clean, along with everything else. The suites are on the first floor, and this suite is right beside the pool AND door. So there is the chlorine smell and lots of noise from the pool and being beside one of the main entrances. That won't really bother us but it is something to keep in mind. I'm used to suites being on the top floor. However, since I brought children who will be swimming it is kind of nice having the pool so close. We haven't had breakfast yet but breakfast comes with the room. I'll update if I find any major flaws. If there are no updates, that means the breakfast was good and everything went fine. They gave me a $25 refund. I would have expected at least double that given the fact, outside of breakfast, we didn't get to enjoy any of their amenities, not even ones we paid more for like the jacuzzi.

Clean room. Comfy beds. I had a great night sleep. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel that is not made to order. Loved the grab and go breakfast bags they had at the front desk too. Great idea.

Yelp
My hubby stays here on business, and i tagged along. We were in room 324 for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. He is a rewards diamond member and finds this location convenient. There are a few restaurants very close and safe right across from highway patrol. Plenty of park and decent free breakfast kerps cost low. Loved the oatmeal with candied walnuts. The breakfast lady was wrlcoming and kept everything fresh and clean. The fresh cookies in the evening were a nice touch. Room was quiet, clean and great sleep. Water pressure good and plenty of conditioner. Bed had various types of pillows. No drawers but not issue for our short stay. Liked it had full couch, desk and paded stool for sitting or luggage. Due to fear of bugs i prefer luggage not be on the floor. But no bugs seen here ... seemed clean. Enjoyed my visit thank you for great stay. Only issue was initially they tried to bill us extra for my joining him. He claims that has never been an issue, but they soon said it was good.

Yelp
I am a Diamond Hilton Honors member; so, I stay at Hilton properties a lot each year, including Hampton Inn and Suites. This stay was just for a weekend with a standard king bed room; so, I did not need room cleaning services. The breakfast offering was good (on par with other Hampton Inns). The desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. The only negative (and thus the reason for 4 instead of 5 star) was the layout of the bathroom: 1. The positioning of the squeeze bottle soap was not good. They were mounted on the wall at the far end of the counter. If your hands were wet, you would drop across towels (or whatever you had on the counter top) to reach the soap. 2. The toilet is at far side of bathroom across from the shower with a full wall next to it - no ledge to put your phone on - toilet paper dispenser is set to close to the back of the toilet -- hard for someone with a stiff back to turn and get paper off of roll.

Yelp
This is my go to Hotel when I visit Mansfield. This js a well maintained hotel, every Hampton Inn I have stayed at always lives up to expectations. Nice rooms, comfy bed and pillows Staff is great.

Yelp
Came down to Ohio from Michigan for an event in Mansfield and stayed here! The desk staff was very kind and courteous. The room was clean and spacious.

Yelp
Cleanest hotel we have had the pleasure of using while traveling since COVID. Eva, out room attendant had the room spotless and we had the pleasure of meeting. Very professional. Front desk personnel were efficient and personable. The kitchen breakfast staff-amazing. Another example of the cleanliness. Lots of people used the breakfast area and I never saw dirt or mess anywhere! Kudos ladies!! Felt very safe in the area and there are lots of local activities. I look forward to returning

Yelp
Very nice newly renovated location with plenty of parking. We pulled in late (10:30pm) a long, long day of driving and was pleasantly greeted and checked-in quickly. Lucky me, still had a few cookies left on the counter! Great room, newly renovated bathroom with sliding "barn" style door which I love. Slide to the right, closet open - slide to the left, bathroom open very cool. Large mirror, too. Fitness center and pool are important to me and both were in excellent shape. Would definitely return, very friendly staff makes it special.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here. It is exactly what I expect from a Hampton Inn: clean, comfortable, and friendly. I thought the beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. The staff was very friendly and really wanted to be sure guests had what they need. Bonus points: the continental breakfast is really great! I enjoy the addition of the smoothies to all the other great stuff to munch on. Next time I am in town, I will definitely be staying here again.

Yelp
Room was small, did not have any drawers for clothing. The bathroom door was also the closet door. You either had the closet door open or the bathroom door open. Shower shelf was large enough to hold a bar of soap and that was it. Door in front of refrigerator was falling off and microwave slides anytime you push a button or open/close the door. Perhaps for a one night stay but that would be it. Great location and great staff, very friendly.

Yelp
Newly remodeled but with poor execution. Friendly staff We arrived late at night and had to change rooms because the toilet did not flush. Moved to a new room across the hall and it had a better toilet and A/C. Initially the front desk's solution for the toilet was for us to come down and pick up a plunger. Since the toilet issue was water pressure and we are the guest not the maintenance staff, we simply changed rooms. The newly laid carpet was installed poorly (cut short in some areas and bunched up in the hallway) but the hotel was fixing the hallway during our visit. The newly designed bathroom is pretty but gets an F on faucet placement (see pictures). You can wash your hands but you will need to place a wash cloth beside the sink to catch all the water displaced as you attempt to do so. I'm petite and can only imagine how challenging this task will be for someone with large hands. Not sure why they spent so much money but didn't clean up little things like the ancient fire sprinkler or wavy base boards. I'd fix the holes in the closet wall. Lobby is very clean and staff are welcoming. I'd stay again but not at the $100+ price point.

Yelp
Wow. Just book everything online and save yourself the half hour with the receptionist taking forever trying to figure out how to book a reservation. I called in and was stated their rate was $178 per night. I tried to hang up and said online it stated $118. I'm still on hold 20 mins later with the reservation host trying to match the online pricing. Giving her 5 more mind before I hang up and just book online myself. Geeze.

Yelp
"Hampton Inn & Suites-Mansfield South" is a clean, comfortable, but otherwise inoffensive and undistinguished member of the Hampton Inns chain. It is situated in a clutch of fast-food franchises at the junction of Hanley road (an east/west street) and Main St. (which you can take north to downtown Mansfield). It has no distinguishing features, no view, and is not close to anything but Interstate 71 (about 100 yards). There is no patio or any outdoor common space. This is the terminus of Main St. and there's nothing out here but housing (some quite nice) and blueberry farms. Certainly nothing you could walk to. Oddly, the hotel is sandwiched between two private homes. On the bright side, the beds are firm and comfortable, the lobby and the rooms are well lit, there's plenty of hot water and the water pressure is good. The staff members I interacted with were competent and polite. There are two things that really make this place stand out. First, the pool is not over-chlorinated - most places you can smell the pool throughout the lobby floor, but here it's contained in the pool area. I complimented the pool maintenance guy and the desk clerk on this. Second, and most important to me, they do not keep Fox News blaring in the common area where the continental breakfast is served. This is a blessing for which I will always be thankful and for which I will gladly recommend the "Hampton Inn & Suites-Mansfield South" to anyone care to listen. A "3" anywhere else, this makes "4", hands down. This is now my first choice of places to stay when I visit Lexington to visit relatives.

Yelp
This was our 2nd stay at this hotel, and the staff was beyond friendly and welcoming. Felt like we had arrived at a family members home! Everything was clean from the lobby to the elevators to the room. We can't thank them enough for going above and beyond, and this is definitely our favorite place to stay by far! Can't wait to do a road trip again!!

Yelp
This was my first stay at a Hampton Inn, and I was impressed! I was immediately greeted by Aric. He checked me in and offered me a couple of items from their "goody basket" for being an HHonors member. He finished my check-in and offered me anything from their coffee/tea selection. The rest of my night was uneventful -- room was nice and cozy. The breakfast buffet was great the next morning, and I love that Hampton offers this. The next day, I noticed a necklace missing from my bag, so I called back to see if they'd found it. I actually spoke to Aric again. He took down my information and called me back a bit later to inform me they couldn't find it. I ended up finding it later, tucked away in one of my bags. Still, I greatly appreciated that he took the time to call me back. Overall, I was pleased with my stay.

Yelp
Flew in from Las Vegas Nevada to attend the Arnold Classic. I've always liked Hamptons Inns. However, this one...ABSOLUTELY TOP NOTCH! A brand new hotel, staffed with apparently leaders of the industry. Breakfast was delicately prepared fresh fruit and ALL the usge, pool was cool, and made available although arriving very late. Jeff was confident, professional and brought "Big City" servatude worth a gracious attitude. I will definately plan another stay annually since I've attended the Arnold from 1995 to....so,pay a little extra to get a lot more!

Yelp
I am visiting my parents from out of town. I chose to stay here at the Hampton because I was confident in the quality of Hampton Inns even though I had never been to this one. I spend the day with my family and come back to the room in the evenings simply hoping to wind down while watching a little TV before I go to sleep. The first evening, there was no signal to any of the channels. The front desk came up 3 times to get it working and each time it went out again within 15 mins. He was very helpful and patient. The 2nd night, some channels worked so I just watched what was available. The 3rd night I decided to watch Sunday Night football on NBC. Of course, that would be one of the channels that don't work. I called the front desk to inquire if there was an alternate channel for NBC since this one was not working. Jacob at the front desk suggested changing the channel up and down or try 124 to reset the channels. None of that worked. Jacob said there was nothing that could be done. Frustrated, I asked him to have someone work on it the next day so that I could watch the TV the following evening. He continued to say nothing more could be done. I had to get angry and insist that something be done the next day. Supposedly maintenance will come tomorrow. I know it's not a big deal to most but as a paying customer I have just gotten really frustrated. Other than the stinking TV service, the hotel has been great. Very clean, day time crew very friendly and housekeeping leaves notes for me to have a great day and enjoy mate stay. Very nice touches. But I am ready for some football!

Yelp
I was not impressed with this location. Most Hampton's are very well run and go out of their way to make you feel at home. When I checked in the front desk clerk acted like she was doing me a favor to check me in. The room was clean but, very small compared to other Hampton's I stayed at before. The breakfast was pretty sad. The eggs were all dried out and the mix for the waffles was so watery it ruined the waffle. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Fredric S.

Yelp
It is obvious that hotel reviews depend upon the service given by the front desk upon check-in. Mine was a very pleasant experience. I reserved two hotel rooms over the web. When we arrived at 9:00 pm the rooms were available, clean and comfortable. The clerks were efficient and had a comb and toothbrush when I asked. I really like the set up of the room . . . finally, a hotel with 4 outlets and 2 USB plugs on the night table! Plenty of room to charge three phones and an iPad. Bathroom could use some updating, but there were plenty of towels, a nice shower head and good counter space. An excellent value for this chain. Only real complaint is that my GPS could not recognize the address on Main Street. I highly recommend.

J C.

Yelp
Not brand new but every things updated. Flat screens and wired internet. Not to shabby for Mansville

Yelp
I have stayed at this Hampton before, unfortunately, my stay this past weekend left a bitter taste in my mouth. The positive: Check in was easy; room was clean. The negative: The noise was horrible. Granted, it's not the hotel's fault if guests insist on acting like animals, but it is up to them to do something when complained about it. I had a late night event that I was attending and wanted to get some sleep prior, which was impossible. I requested a room change; none were available, but I was assured that the room would be called and told to quiet down or they would have to leave. Great, but still doesn't help me get any sleep. Housekeeping: Knocked on my door prior to the check out time. I called out since I was getting dressed when they decided to try and enter my room. When I asked what they thought they were doing, they told me they would come back later. I could understand if I was in the room past the check out time, but I wasn't. Check out: No one was at the front desk. Eventually, someone strolled out from the back. I turned in my room key stating I was checking out. She took them with an okay. Didn't ask if I enjoyed my stay, thank me for staying at the Hampton - NOTHING. Due to this experience, it is doubtful I would stay here again.

Jon B.

Yelp
Got to like a Hampton in a small town. They take care of us road warriors when we come to town.

Melissa S.

Yelp
We tried this location after a previous successful stay at another location. It lived up. Same comfort and cleanliness. Same modern design. Same friendly staff and solid breakfast. Hampton Inn is definitely my preferred place to sleep!

Grant H.

Yelp
Everything was good except for Eimier the 11am to 4pm-ish female receptionist. We asked to have an early check in before 3pm because we were going to a wedding at 3pm. 2 even 2:30 would have worked. Everyone else we spoke to was kind and helpful except for her. We called when we made the reservation a week earlier for a early check in, no problem. We call at 12:30pm to see if we can still get an early check in. She lied and said they dont do early check in. I said we already have an early check in and she said then it wasn't possible today because everybody wants an early check in. I asked if she could check please and in like 10 seconds she said no, no early check ins available today. We went to the wedding and reception first then checked in at about 6pm, everything was smooth, friendly and courteous. My wife hasn't been sleeping well, so before we went out to a late dinner, we asked for a late check out so she could try and get some extra shut eye. No problem, 1pm would be fine the receptionist said. We put the "SLEEPING" sign on the door key and went to sleep. 11:30 cleaning crew knocks on the door waking us up. My wife told her we have a 1pm check out, all good she'd be back after 1pm. Then at 12:15 the wife gets a call on her phone from a private number, no room call, from Eimier saying that it was past check out time and that their are some things left in the room. Well than f-it we're out. Then we check out and we asked her why she called our phone to have us check out. She lied again and said she didn't call. We replayed the voicemail and she said it "sounds" like her voice. She screwed the cleaning crew out of a tip and the hotel out of a good review. She needs fired before more bad reviews come in about her and her lazy, lying, "sounds like my voice" reception

Yelp
Rooms were clean and beds were great! I have not stayed at a Hampton Inn before, the complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise with western omelets and waffles etc.

Jan R.

Yelp
We were greeted by a welcoming host, given an extra clean, bright, quiet room that was at the perfect temperature with great black out shades. Slept like a rock after a long drive. And the there's breakfast to boot! Nice job Hampton Inn of Ashland.

Keith H.

Yelp
Never again. This hotel and parent company do not put their customers first. Out of the hundreds of hotels I've stayed at, the management and front desk staff (Jake) here are the most rude and un-inviting I have come across. I will never stay at this hotel or the others in their portfolio again (sunrise hospitality inc) Hilton hotels are one of my first choice's, It's to bad that this franchise if giving Hilton a bad name.

David R.

Yelp
Nothing bad to report but nothing really good to report. The beds are clean and comfy, the service was good and for a little spot off the interstate it wasn't bad.

Becca S.

Yelp
We stopped here to stay overnight while on a long road trip. The front desk clerk was very helpful and courteous. The lobby and common areas were well kept and easy to find. Our room appeared clean and modern (as I expect at Hampton Inns). However, the bathroom had quite a gross shock in the shower. There was a hair from a previous guests nether regions stuck to the side of the tub (I washed it down the drain with the shower head) and a stiff, dried, used washcloth was inside the shower curtain (I used a hand towel to knock it down and pick it up to put in the laundry pile). I think the maintenance staff missed that when cleaning the room. Other than the bathroom, it was a decent night's stay.

Carolyn S.

Yelp
Stayed one night . Very nice king bed room. Clean, quiet, free breakfast, personal helpful. Would come back if in the area3(

Amy G.

Yelp
After driving 7 hours I needed a safe, clean, reasonably priced hotel to stay the night. Aric at the front desk was super friendly and fast at checking me in which is greatly appreciated when you have a tired toddler on your hip whose been stuck in a car all day. Every employee I encountered said hello. We ended up staying there again on our way back to TN a week later. Great breakfast spread also!
