The property is in a great location. Very walkable to different areas of the city. The rooms are a good size and have a separate sitting area. The sofas could be updated however not a bad thing. The bathroom shower did drain slow and all the water did puddle at the back of the shower. Didn’t get to enjoy breakfast as we were out doing excursions early in the morning. Would stay here again depending on what we are doing in CDMX all in all a good time.

Google
Great location. Very helpful staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It's a shame my suite had no view, but you can't have it all. The complimentary breakfast was good and was different every day, plenty of options to choose from. Overall, it was a good stay.

This place has great potential but is in dire need of updates. Many of the rooms face the atrium which, despite the gorgeous, what appears to be stained glass, ceiling is rather dark. The furniture looks like something from grandma’s garage and the bathroom is small without adequate counter space. On multiple occasions our key card didn’t work so we needed to go back down to reception where the staff wordlessly replaced our cards. No apology, no explanation. They were unable to exchange money for us and did not provide complimentary water or snack (which is no big deal because they sell it pretty cheap but still). We ended up checking out early and finishing up our trip at a nearby Airbnb which was much nicer.

We stayed in a suite (3 of us) for a week and had a great time! It's an old property with an interesting history, but nicely maintained. The hotel is in a wonderful location, very close to the Zocalo and other historic sites. The room was very clean and comfortable, and they provided two bottles of water every day for free. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was what you would expect at a Hampton Inn, and we enjoyed it several days. Lots of really great restaurants within walking distance, as well as two downstairs. We had no complaints and I would recommend this as a good place to stay.

One of the key advantages of this hotel is its location in the Historic Downtown, just 2 blocks from the Zócalo, the center of the city where the public plaza, cathedral and the national palace are. ||Despite some recommendations from sites and travelers to stay in the “tree-lined neighborhoods” that are more upscale, we opted to stay here in the heart of the city. There is something happening on the plaza all the time - people gathering, children playing, musicians singing, vendors selling – it’s all there, all the time. And despite the many, many people present in the downtown area, it is surprisingly clean and law enforcement is present everywhere. We walked all over the downtown area without incident, and on occasion we used UBER to travel to other neighborhoods (the process worked exceptionally well). ||We had a comfortable suite on the 6th floor of the hotel and were here for our entire stay in Mexico City – 10 nights. The concierges, Edgar and Alejandro were invaluable, and we would classify their service as “above and beyond”. The hotel staff was very welcoming throughout our stay and we give them very high marks. Also, the Reception Supervisor, Jocelyn Loo, was very attentive and always available to address any issues. ||We have already decided that we will return to Mexico City in the future, and we will once again stay here at the Hampton Inn & Suites in the Centro Historico.

I stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites Mexico City - Centro Historico for two nights in a queen room in late January 2025. I had a positive check-in experience. The hotel is in a historic building and the interiors are typical Hampton Inn by Hilton. My room was clean, comfortable and functional. I was out sightseeing for most of my stay, so I didn't have issues with noise. The location is great!

Google
My wife and I stayed in this hotel on 2/25 for 6 nights. When checked in , our room had a solvent like smell. We thought it was fresh paint and over time it would go away. The sink had a water leak, we call reception and we were moved to another room. Breakfast was good, Mexican food menu changed every day. One day we found a small cucaracha, we talked to reception and they had the cleaning service do extra cleaning behind the furniture. We realized that the "solvent' smell on the first room could had been a pesticide. Our room face the street it was noise but not annoying. The location is great, close to many attractions. I would suggest to the management and some receptionist to smile and be cool. From desk personal don't smile, and they seem either not happy or feel above their pay grade.

I cannot say enough about the work of their concierge, Edgar Mendoza.||He is by far the best and most helpful I have ever encountered.||The guy is a superstar!||He greeted everyone in our group like friends each and every time we saw him and provided outstanding recommendations on what to do and see in Mexico City.||I had wanted to see the Lucha Libre wrestling in Mexico City and all in my group were unsure but once Edgar told them what a great time it would be they all wanted to go since he had provided such great info to them previously. We went and everyone had a great night out in Mexico City cheering on the wrestlers.||We saw Edgar as we left the hotel early in the morning for the airport at his normal position at the front of the hotel and said our goodbyes to him like a new friend from Mexico City.||People really do make a difference when it comes to a hotel and Edgar is a true asset to the Hilton brand.||Also everyone else we encountered at eh hotel was smiling and helpful especially the folks working at the front of the house greeting people when returning to the hotel.

Yelp
Great place to stay in the middle of town. The hotel is like being in the US. They have all the amenities and it's clean.

Yelp
Love this hotel! It was close to el Zocalo like two blocks away close. I love the security at the door greeting us every time. Made my wife and I feel comfortable especially traveling with our little ones and parents. They offer taxi service if you want to go to any destinations nearby. Works well if you have a large group like we did. Better than packing a small Uber. Breakfast every day was nice, ask for tortillas they don't have them out. And unlimited refills on your cafe de Olla (my favorite). Would definitely stay here again. They clean as often as you'd like or not up to you.

Yelp
2 of our night were booked with our travel company. We stayed one night then went on our tour 5 days later we were back from our tour and spent our second night. We extended our stay by 4 days to do more of Mexico City. I made the extension months in advance with Susana Salazar. When we checked in I paid our extra four nights. Location was great for walking or taking a bike to most things we wanted to see. When things were further away we got Ubers. I think driving in Mexico City would be exhausting and nerve wracking. We were always greeted leaving and coming back to the hotel. Staff was friendly. Our room was clean and made up every day but one when we purposely left the do not disturb sign up. The building we were told was a 300 year old Monastery. It was very nice and the stained glass ceiling beautiful. We were on the 5th floor. All but one night it was very quite. Toward the end of our stay someone with zero curtesy must have checked in. Doors slamming constantly at the end of the hall. One night our phone in the room rang like 3 or 4 times. My husband picked it up each time. As far as he could tell it was a spam call trying to sell something. After that we just unplugged the phone. I found the laundry room and it was free. I washed a load of whites and a load of darks. Fishers on the roof was great. Service and food was wonderful. The restaurant downstairs attached to the hotel was also very good. Really the only reason for 4 stars not 5. The morning we were leaving for the airport at 6am, we were told we had one more night that wasn't paid for. They charged us for the second night that was paid for by our travel company. I tried to get the young man to understand that. It just didn't work. We paid and got in the cab. Breakfast was decent, not great. They always had some weird options. One other thing I found interesting. When I went down stairs to buy water and snacks nothing was rang up. They just told me a total. I had correct pesos so I paid, no receipt, went back upstairs. I wondered if that was totally on the level.

Yelp
Delightful location. Hotel staff are warm and welcoming. Edgar the Concierge was amazingly helpful. Rooms are clean and quiet. Heads up some face the central courtyard but I was perfectly content. Security entrance - I would feel safe traveling as a woman alone. The area feels as safe as any decent neighborhood in a very large city. Consider me very satisfied!

Yelp
I had the pleasure on staying at this Hampton Inn when my son and I attended the Mexican F1 grandprix. This location is right dead smack in the middle of CDMX. There are a lot of things to do that you can walk to. There's a historic cathedral which is very beautiful. There are also a lot of food places to eat which were very good. If you decide to stay here, it better not to have a rental vehicle. I'm not really sure where you would park the car. The building is very rustic on the outside but modern in the inside. The staff greets you and are very attentive. The best thing is that they speak and understand english. The rooms are very modern and the rooms are cleaned everyday. The AC can get better, my personal preference is on the cooler side. The breakfast is ok but definitely convenient. The thing that made me only give it 4 stars is because its so dam noisy every 8am at this area. I know they cant help with all the outside noise. But sound proofing the windows and the balcony doors would help a little bit. I did not need a wake up call when I stayed here. O yea while I'm requesting things, a pool would be very nice as well. :D

Yelp
My second time staying here with kids; highly recommend it! You cannot ask for a better location, breakfast included, and very reasonably priced. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Will continue to stay here when visiting CDMX.

Yelp
I was here for a week on a rare business trip. While this might not be the best "business" setting, as my co-worker and I did experience quite a bit of traffic getting in and out of the city, for me it was a PERFECT mix of business and "pleasure!" (Ummmmmm, did that sound more "suggestive" than it needed to sound?!?) For me the hustle and bustle (to put it mildly) of Mexico's main square El Zocalo is something I'll NEVER get tired of... I've never stayed more than a block or two away; my last stay here was in a hotel right on the main square, and this time, we were also tucked away just a block or two from the CORAZON of this wonderful, crazy city!! Wonderful setting, great service at the front desk, comfortable room w/all the amenities, flawless wifi, and an AWESOME breakfast buffet. Plenty of nearby dining, shopping, and touring options. Don't miss the BEAUTIFUL roof terrace, where (I was told) you can have food and drinks sent up from the neighboring restaurant. Also great spot for city pics @ sunset. Great choice for business or pleasure!! You'll find it ALL in the Zocalo area!!

Yelp
After a long drive and terrible service from Quinta Inn we found amazing service here at the Hamptons. We were given amazing service and the clerk Brenda really went out of her way to accommodate us. Her Quality Service is the reason we will continue coming back to the Hamptons. Thank you Brenda.

Yelp
You can't beat the location, close enough, but not to the noise! I had a standard room and it was functional but tiny. The staff was terrific, the only issue I had was with my keycard daily. Both on site restaurants were very good.

Michael L.

Yelp
Lovely staff, not all as helpful as others but a great value in a great location. The good: standard rooms are closets and so was assigned one without a window. Before I unpacked I talked to Marcel at the front desk and he moved us to a suitable room happily. After 4 of 7 days, that room became claustrophobic and we were upgraded to a spacious suite with room to move around and a king size bed. The concierge was a big help. Breakfast is offered, and if you go for a quick buffet it works, after two days we ate out for a fresh cooked beverage. I would recommend this hotel whole heartedly for its location, affordability and mostly helpful staff. Umbrellas for when it rains... no problem. Both restaurants were delicious, with great staff and reasonable prices. Each were happy to deliver food to the room on request. The stretches: the door locks malfunctioned no less than several times a day on our room and a second room for our daughter. Many times the 'new' key didn't work upon immediate return from the front desk. On the 6th day it became too frustrating and again Marcel owned the problem and had it fixed while we were out. However that is not before the gals at the front desk were ineffective and lacked basic communication skills. Granted, my Spanglish barely gets me by but I am a guest in an international hotel, not the point person for guests. The front door is locked most of the time and you have to go out of your way to use a key off to the side. Late at night this understandable. In the middle of the day with two front desk people present and two to three staff just a few feet away welcoming us back each outing, it's a bit of a WTF moment as to why a staff person doesn't just open the door. food delivery is not permitted inside the hotel, staff refused to deliver it to the room. There is no out call massage permitted to the room, and no information on where to find it. In all, we came to use of 300,000 honors points a one week stay for two rooms. We got what we paid for. While I'd return with points as it was only 20k a night, I'd choose any number of other hotels in the area or in other neighborhoods.

Yelp
Great hotel! Room is perfect size, shower is perfect size. Not tight enough room to move around. Pleasantries in room are great and lobby has quick snack area for a charge. Breakfast is perfect with plenty of fruit and juice plus hot dishes. Gym is excellent, cardiovascular and weight equipment. Laundry room is a great plus. The building is some historic one that has been kept amazingly in spirit and have all the good things for a Hampton. If I get picky, the flat screen could be a larger size. Location in zocalo centro histórico México City is perfecta :) The best thing this hotel has is its staff. Every single person goes the extra mile with a smile. I'll be back any chance I get. Great price value too.

Gregory S.

Yelp
We stayed there last weekend. The suite was beautiful. Clean & very comfortable bed! The location is perfect for walking to the historic sites. The hotel is built in a 300 year old former Monastery! Great terraza with great views! Drinks & food at sunset was a treat! Breakfast was included with our stay and very good! The staff of the hotel really made the stay worth it! The front desk folks were very helpful & accommodating. I must give a big shout out to the hotel concierge, Edgar! He made great suggestion on a place to eat late at night, and even walked us there! Now that's service!! He helped arrange a great excursion to Xochimilco! And also advised on getting a COVID test before boarding the airplane ( which is required to re-enter the USA). Great hotel! Great people! Great location!

Yelp
Front desk gave me trouble to check in, 10 people checked in in front of me but they kept telling me room was not available. At 2:40pm they wanted me to check again at 3:40. I forced them to call housekeeping they still told me no rooms, I asked for the manager and magically they found a room. My phone kept ringing all night while I was trying to sleep, I told front desk and they said "we will disconnect the line", well I thought they would do it from their switchboard, so I fell asleep again and they sent someone to the room again and they woke me up. I could have unplugged the phone myself. This was ridiculous. Then when I complained about all this, the manager started arguing with me and calling me a liar!! Angel ornandez the "manager" tried to tell me I was lieing , and that the phone did not ring, and he told me because I checked in at the right time I can't receive the Hampton guarantee. I'm not sure what the customer service standard is here in Mexico but this would not be accepted in the USA, I would have fired that "manager" for not handling the issue. Now look at me with nowhere else left to turn, complaining everywhere I can.

Yelp
My family and I stayed here late October 2017. We rented two suites for the low price of $120USD/room per night. Great value for the location close to Zocalo square, Palacio de Bellas Artes and Templo Mayor, among other attractions in the area. The accommodations and breakfast were top-notch. Two restaurants are located on the ground floor - Garabato's and Fisher's Mariscos. We ordered room service from Garabato's and indulged in too many of their decadent cookies. Staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful with our requests. The concierge helped us get last minute tickets to a show at Palacio de Bellas Artes, tickets to Casa Azul (Frida Kahlo's house), reservations at a couple of restaurants, and even helped us book a personal driver for one day of city adventures and a separate day trip to Teotihuacan. Don't miss the rooftop with decent views of the surrounding neighborhood and a relaxing atmosphere. I did a short yoga flow on the rooftop and really enjoyed the vibes up there. If we want to stay in this area again, we wouldn't hesitate to choose Hampton Inn for the overall value and superb service.

Yelp
The hotel is nice. Specially the workers. They will help you from the minute you walk out from your taxi. Front desk also very nice. Gabby I believe her name was helped me as much as she could with a reservation I had. Also helped with recommending places to eat. Which didn't disappoint. Alex helped with all the tourist place to do nearby. Gave us a map and literally told us how to get them there, and with any questions I had and he didn't know answers to he always tried to look for the it online. Our room keeper was also very sweet. Left us a really cute note has written which made it so much better. As for our room. We had a king suite. The room was very big. When you walk in you walk into the living area, that that a couch which turned into a bed. Living area had a small tv. And desk. Then our bed was nice and comfy. Bathroom standard size. Only complain I had was the water in the shower. Pressure kept going on and off. Water would still be warm/hot just the pressure kept going down. Location of hotel is great. Very close to zocalo. Walking distance is like 5 min. Also close to palacio bellas artes which is 15 walking. And 5 min without traffic. With traffic like 20 min. Complain: so our room was in the first floor. And wow it was noisy. Saturday night noise doesn't stop until 4 am. There's a rooftop bar across the street. Which I could heat the music from. And honking because Of traffic. Sunday morning you can sleep in though traffic starts like 11 am. Overall great stay. Friendly staff. Awesome location. But Hilton please upgrade your windows!!!!!

Yelp
The nicest option we can have!!! Great service, rooms, location. The breakfast was included in the rate per day and was enough and delicious! The building was building in 17th century and you can enjoy the architecture detail on it! Fair rates. recomended

Yelp
Just checked into the hotel tonight. Jackhammering started at 11pm. REALLY!!! Front desk informed me that this is seasonal maintenance done by the mexican government. At 11:00 PM ????

Yelp
I chose this hotel for our last night in CDMX because of its location in the Centro Historico, which is walking distance to the Cathedral, Palacio Nacional, Plaza de la Constitution, Templo Mayor, and the Sanborn's/Casa de los Azulejos. The rooms are standard Hampton Inn Fare (clean, but simple, unadorned, not luxurious). However, the building itself is a stunning 1800's registered historic place with a beautiful central atrium, stained glass ceiling, ceramic tiled walls, and the roof deck is a totally wasted hidden treasure (there is no bar or restaurant up there, so you can just sit and enjoy). I would highly recommend this hotel because of its charm, location, and value.
google avatar

Sally W.

Yelp
They have been extremely accommodating to a few of our specific needs with needing a room switch. The concierge was extremely helpful and even gave us free tickets to a show when I asked about it. I am not sure if that was just luck or if the hotel is allotted a certain amount of them per day/weekend/month. The breakfast was a hot breakfast and very satisfying. The hot water pressure at times was lacking, but to be expected - especially at high volume shower times. If I come back to Mexico City, I would probably stay in Condesa due to its more central location and access to more restaurants/shops that appeal to me, but this area was fine as well. Close to multiple subway stops, and on a quiet enough street that getting an Uber is easily accessible. (We mostly used Uber due to the convenience and extremely low prices. You can get across the city for $7 USD)
google avatar

Tinyee H.

Yelp
Got a room with a king size bed. Very comfortable and high mattress. There were plenty of outlets to recharge your phone. The desk separated the bed area from the living area. Wifi connection was strong and did not have interruptions during conference call. There is coffee in the room. The breakfast area was standard with common hot Mexican style breakfast like eggs with refried beans, chicken verde, quesadilla, etc., but also had continental style breakfast with cereal and fresh fruit and juices. We had a late arrival around 10pm on Sunday and most restaurants were closed. Hotel staff recommended a diner/cafe that opens 24/7 called El Cafe Popular; only a few blocks away. The hotel is nicely decorated. Take a look at the ceiling with stained glass.

Yelp
SUPER SUPER DISAPPOINTED- I am a hh diamond member staying here now. First , the rooms are dark/low lighting and a bit scary! Today morning I contacted Mr. Edgar from concierge for Covid - 19 antigen tests for 4. He could arrange some place for test at 800MX per person. When I asked him if there are any other walk-in test centers, he misguided me saying there are no other options!! and I have 15 mins to decide! What he didn't tell me was that There is infact a San Pablo pharmacy next doors who do the same test for 300MX. I spend 4+hours looking for other Labs to get my test which I would have otherwise spent sightseeing. Similar experience when I asked recommendations for any place to eat around 8:30pm while checking in. I was told that all places in centro are closed except for Azul and another roof top restaurant. next day I noticed several Mexican places with signs of open 24 hrs in 10 mins walk. ALSO, they overcharge by converting your total bill into Mx peso first and converting it back into US dollar ( credit card charges) using a higher conversion rate - a new scam I have noticed even with rental car companies Will never recommend this hotel to anyone!

Yelp
Staying at this Hampton Inn was nice for a first time visit to CDMX. The hotel is in a beautiful historic building just 2 blocks from the Zocalo and only $55 USD/night - breakfast was included but it was pretty basic with eggs, potatoes, and fruit. We had room 401 which only had a view of the back of the neighboring buildings. Our room was tiny but had a very comfortable bed. Only drawbacks was the water in the shower was warm but never really hot and there was some noise in the mornings that echoed through the atrium. The staff however, were wonderful and helpful. I have Gold status with Hilton and was thankful for the early check in and late checkout at 4pm which was nice since our flight home wasn't until 730pm

Yelp
It's different from the Hamptons Inns in the states. The service, upkeep, and look of the place, makes me feel like I'm staying at a mini Hilton resort. They even have a concierge. Location is good but because it's in the heart of the city, the smell is a lot getting use to. While my room was clean, it smelt much like a very old basement with a hint of sewer. For the most part, the good, out weighed the bad.

Yelp
After a couple of weeks on the road, were looking for a comfortable hotel in the Zokalo district of Mexico city. Most of the hotels I looked at were already booked, and the Hampton only had suites available. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, even with a promotional rate, but it's completely worth it. We are greeted by super nice employees, and check-in was a breeze. There is Bellhop service at the door and they helped us unload our bags from from our rented 15 pass van. We opted for valet parking (for a fee). It's on a busy street so the help was appreciated! When it was time to return the rental the hotel arranged for it to be washed! There is full concierge service. They arranged taxis for our little group. Long day of hiking? They can connect with massage therapists to come to your room. Full hot breakfast buffet was better than expected and even includes traditional Mexican-style coffee in a clay urn. There are two restaurants on premises and and an ATM close by. The rooms are super comfy and clean, and there is a guest DIY laundry room or full laundry service. Small but functional exercise room. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace (services can be arranged). The hotel recycles. 24 hr coffee/tea and front-desk services. Complimentary bottled water in the rooms replaced each day, high-quality towels and linens, and good hot water shower pressure. Enjoy your stay.

Amos Y.

Yelp
Very central location and very well maintained - though the rooms were a bit smaller than normal Hampton inn . The breakfast was average there was a limited hot selection, however there was a Mexican twist to the breakfast with Mexican sweet coffee and Mexican breakfast

Kristan C.

Yelp
I made a reservation and the day that I was supposed to check in at 3pm they called me at 12;30 to let me know that there was a mistake and they don't take pets so I couldn't stay there. When I called to make the reservation I made sure that they knew I had pets and they assured me that they did take pets. They left me hanging and scrambling to find a room in the area on a Friday afternoon and still charged my credit card. When I called to ask them about that they said "Oh, well we were waiting to see if you were going to cancel". WHAT????? Where would I put my dogs?????
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
The hotels was a pleasant surprise. It's really clean and well organized hotel. They have a medium size lobby area that doubles for a place to eat your complementary breakfast and coffee (or tea). The front desk staff were more than pleasant and helpful. It's a good idea to check with them first, before going to any sights. They are fully connected with drivers/tax cabs and places to eat. The hotels is located, in the perfect location, close enough to the action but yet far enough away. Really close to Zocalo, churches etc..... Free WIFI (most of the time Coffee and Tea) are available 24/7. This was a great deal since most hotel's are charging for WIFI theses days. The room also has a safe, that locks/unlocks by using your credit card, this works out good for your travel documents.

Yelp
We love it here! Great hotel - interesting architecture - great breakfast - great concierge - great rooftop patio area on one of the levels. Very interesting choices for breakfast including coffee in a clay pot, green juice, Chilaquiles and fruit and other things. The staff was really quick! about refilling stuff and it was very busy. An excellent hotel right near the main square. Don't hesitate to book it.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel for about 5 days back in December. From the moment we checked in on our first night in Mexico City to our return to the hotel after a stint in Puebla, this place and its staff were absolutely incredible. We used Hilton points for our stay and because of our status got a great room upgrade. The hotel is located in the historic part of town. It's a great area with a lot of museums and food. You can't go wrong staying here!
google avatar

Felipe L.

Yelp
Hotel is in the historic section of town near museum and other cultural areas, lots of stores and restaurants un the area and very near the famous Zoxalo area. Rooms are big nice beds noisy area but tspers off at night, good hotel service nice staff, would definitely come back

Yelp
This hotel is beyond lovely. The front desk staff treated this Diamond member wonderfully, messaging me before and during my stay. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite on the fourth floor (room 403) with a cute view of Centro Histórico. Our dedicated housekeeper kept the room immaculate, and even made cute animals out of washcloths and hand towels (elephant and bunny) to go with our stuffed animals. The breakfast is much nice than other Hampton Inns, and included delicious cafe de hoya. Lastly, the location was perfect for exploring CDMX and enjoying street food. Seriously, I would live here if I could.

Yelp
I had a truly fantastic stay at this very cool hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic district and has been restored meticulously. From our arrival to our departure, everything at this hotel was perfect. The staff all deserve an A+!!!! They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The room was rather large for a downtown urban hotel. Ours had a separate sitting area. The shower had great water pressure. The breakfast was good each day. I could go on and on, but this hotel greatly exceeded any Hampton Inn standard and then some... The building itself is truly amazing, the rooftop deck was a great oasis in the heart of the city, and the security was fantastic. Hats off to the management of this hotel for making a difficult task seem flawless. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
I was really pleased with my recent stay here. The location is great - just a couple of blocks away from many of the tourist sites (Zocalo, etc.) and also close to the Metro. It's a beautiful building from the outside and they did a good job with the renovations on the inside. The staff was very helpful and friendly and I never had a problem with finding someone who could help me in English. (I did try my Spanish a few times and they were totally nice with my attempts.) I also appreciated that when you asked for a cab, they actually have some private drivers that will take you where you need to be for the same price. If you're used to Hamptons in the U.S., then you'll be happy that they offer free breakfast (continental but with additional Mexican breakfast staples like pan dulce and frijoles and tortillas), along with free Wi-Fi. They also provide free bottled water in your room. There's also free washers and dryers for your use. There are two restaurants on site - I did eat at the cafe because I flew in fairly late and most businesses in the immediate area close by 10pm. The prices were fine but I would definitely venture out as opposed to eating there for better experiences. Really the only downside is the aforementioned lack of places open in the immediate area in the late evening, but you are only a couple of blocks away from places that are open later, so this should not deter you from staying here. I definitely would stay here again - to top off my great experience, I used Hilton points for this stay and it was a steal. Only 10,000 points a night. Practically free, really!

Yelp
Absolutely a great choice to be close to the Zocalo and everything in the historic center of Mexico City for a very fair price (whether in cash or Hilton points (you get the fifth night free if you use points)). The hotel has a solid free breakfast every morning, and the options vary slightly from day to day, which is nice if you are staying for a little while. The hotel also has a great rooftop deck where you can bring your own drinks and enjoy a pretty good view. The staff were all super nice and the building itself is really cool.

Yelp
Recent stay in room 510. Nice place, great location, clean, great staff, great breakfast. Highly recommended. Our 2 bed suite was always clean and housekeeping provided bottled water. The use of their Washer and dryer was free, you just have to buy Tide pods at the front desk for $1. My only complaint is the water shut on and off while showering.

Yelp
I want to start with saying the front desk girl was nothing but nice and respectful during this entire ordeal. I sat down on the bed and seen a huge cockroach! I grabbed my phone to video it and to get a better picture I stood up. That's when the 2nd huge roach went across the floor!! Front desk girl looked horrified as I showed her the video. Said she wasn't allowed to do refunds it would have to be handled in the morning. I agreed to try another room. After changing rooms I was going to get something to drink and the door handle for the room came off in my hand. Ughhh. So I go tell the front desk. Another room, 3rd room. I put my belongings down and go outside to smoke a cigarette. The lady unloading her bags tells me be careful there's a snake in that palm tree! After all that it was just too much. I couldn't stay in the room. My skin was crawling. The next morning I was contacted and told I would be given a full refund which as of yet I have not received. 2nd room hadn't been cleaned well. There was a drink ring on the table and a charger block on the floor and a cough drop.

Yelp
I loved that we ended up in a quiet room with 2 beds, as requested. The room was clean and comfortable. The workers were nice and polite. The only complaint I have is that the water would turn off while in the shower. The sink faucet and toilet also turned off a lot. I always have to rush to take a shower hoping that the water does not turn off while I still had shampoo left on my hair... but never fails, every time I shower, the water stops sometimes for about minute.

Yelp
The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's right at the heart of action and landmarks. You can spend days walking around this area yet always find time to come back to your hotel room to take a nap because it's so close. Staffs are helpful. Breakfast is just okay. Ice machine always got turned off in the night time. Reasonable rate.

Yelp
Really great hotel. I was able to get this hotel for 7k points on hhonors and then a cheap daily rate after i exhausted my points. The hotel features a free hit breakfast with local flavors and pastries. The cafe de olla is so good i wish they sold it. The staff is friendly and bilingual (thankfully). They have free laundry (with soap), a gym, and a gorgeous terrace where i was able to write a school paper. The rooms are smallish but compared to Europe they are huge. They have a list of local excursions that are affordable. I recommend the pyramids; absolutely gorgeous. The hotel itself is located several blocks from metro stations (zocalo and piño suarez) and it is in walking distance of a few main attractions like the palacio del bellas artes. Also not too far away is calle regina where there are cute restaurants and hipster bars. This is really a gem and could not have asked for a better stay.

Yelp
fyi for light sleepers the rooms are not sound proof at all you can hear everything outside your door, you can probably blame it on the fact that it used to be a convent, nuns didn't really need their privacy. but at least your spiritually safe sleeping here! 4-stars for the location & concierge for making our trip! the location is super close to the zocalo & tourist attractions in that area, a great bakery (pasteleria madrid & pasteleria ideal) & a pharmacy. the concierge coordinated our rides and the following activities: - pyramid of the moon & sun/virgin de guadalupe tour - luche libre tour (tuesday/friday & sunday only) - mariachi restaurant in one of the popular squares, i think it was called girarbaldi square and recommended two rooftop eateries that we loved (la mayor & the restaurant in grand hotel) and made our trip. i felt very safe here and would recommend this hotel, i didn't have the best sleep but i think everything else made up for it.

Yelp
My husband I stayed here during a recent visit. I travel quite a bit for work and tend to stay in the Hilton family if possible. I like my points. I have to stay the hotel staff was resort level nice, very accommodating. Probably the nicest Hilton chain staff I have stayed at so far. I have an affinity for historic architecture. When I inquired at the front desk about the history of the building, they actually looked up the history to share with me. The only drawback was the smoking on the rooftop and our room was located next to the entrance. Otherwise there is no smoking in the hotel. Also there is a free breakfast!

Yelp
First night here. The parking for a rental car or family dropping you off is ridiculous due having to unpack in the middle of the road while the transit police Hassel you to move or they will boot the vehicle. But other than that the front desk clerk Alex and Gabriela allowed us to put away some important documents in the managers personal space. Only size enough for a notebook. Very easy check in and so far great clean room with nice ac and strong water pressure from shower. Free coffe 24 7 and breakfast at 6am til 10am. Very clean room!

Yelp
This hotel was a definite disappointment for The Hilton chain of hotels. First of all their WiFi is very spotty and took almost and hour to connect with my iPad and could've never connect with my phone. Also the staff here is very snooty and when we requested face towels because there were none the simply said everything you need is on the bathroom already. Also the decor and floors ate out dated and dirty. To top it off tired location is near nothing traditional about Monterrey so we will be canceling the next few days and going back to the iStay hotel, which is very modern and is centrally located to everything in the traditional district.

Yelp
Great service and food, I would definitely stay here again, I like the little snack in the room and their breakfast was really good, Staff spoke English for the most part and was really good at giving directions. Evening printed it out for us.

Yelp
Loved the location as everything I wanted to see and do were either withing walking distance or transportation was close by. The entire staff was extraordinary as every request was handled rapido! Special people include Alejandro and Edgar as they went over and above to assist me with the language and directions/maps and dinero! Housekeeping led by Victor who set my room up most nights were so very nice. Staff always had a smile and were constantly asking how and if they could help, especially the lady that I usually saw in the breakfast area. I felt extremely safe at the Hampton Inn as security people were around constantly watching the activity on the street. Excellent food at Fisher's downstairs and at the bakery almost directly across the street. In a week, I only scratched the sites I wish to see so I definitely will be back in the Inn as I cannot imagine there being a better place for the price. 6 Stars is more appropriate but 5 will have to do!
