Let me start off by saying we have traveled to many places and stayed at dozens of Hampton Inn and Suites just over the last few years. We are also HGVC Owners, so we are pretty loyal to the Hilton brand. Unfortunately, this one fell short.
We were traveling with my sister and brother who had their own rooms and none of our rooms had microwaves, which is a basic necessity these days. My husband had to go down to use their mini-microwave one day which is just ridiculous. In fact, my siblings' rooms didn't even have a refrigerator. The bedding was too short and thin and kept coming off of the bed. The faucet to the sink is placed so awkwardly that it is hard to wash your hands and not splash water all over the counter. Just poor design that could have been easily avoided. I did appreciate all of the hooks in the bathroom and the motorized window covering. The bed was hard but the pillows were soft.
The breakfast was just not as good as other hotels. The stone grits were far too grainy and the other hot options, an egg and cheese omelet, sausage patties, and waffles, were just okay. It seems that breakfast quality at the Hamptons has gone down within the last year overall which is obviously not good.
As for the staff, they were very nice, but we did have one issue. Check out is at 11:00. At exactly 10:00, housekeeping knocked on the door to "just check on our status." I cannot emphasize enough just how annoying this is. I HATE THIS SO MUCH as it makes us feel rushed and like you are ready to kick us out! Don't worry, we have left and will NEVER return! For the love of God, please stop this practice!
Last but not least, one of the two elevators was out of order, which made for long wait times as the housekeepers were also using the guest elevators and tying them up at times. My husband just gave up once and took the stairs instead.
They also gave my sister and BIL a room which apparently had a pet staying in it prior, so they had to go back down and switch rooms after we'd already arrived late at night. I understand that they are a pet-friendly hotel, but they should set aside some rooms for pets as some people, including my sister, are allergic to pet dander. This is quite dangerous and could truly harm their guests, so they need to deep clean these rooms and enact a separation policy ASAP!
All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel and this experience has us reconsidering Hampton Inns altogether for our future travel needs.
