Very friendly staff and Allie (?), who worked at the front desk, was especially accommodating and amazing! Great location for the price, making it easy to walk anywhere in Ybor City or catch the free streetcar. The hotel overall was very clean and up to date. The only real issues were that the facet was in a weird spot on the side of the sink and did not extend very far out. This made it a little difficult to fit your hand under when you washed them. Also, the shower curtain was short and didn't extend down to the tub, so any time you took a shower water would be all over the floor. All in all, though, a great value.

It’s a nice, clean hotel, but lacks the details for good service. Rooms are fine, clean etc… but the maintenance were lacking: 1. AC in gym is out.. for the week it takes a week to repair or replace an AC…? 2 breakfast is so-so; no fresh cut fruit, just whole apples and bananas, both waffle machines are broken, Juice is not fresh, cereal is stale. But eggs and potatoes were fine. 3. Parking is nice.. covered, but you have to pay with your phone. 4. Nice to have Tesla destination chargers but usually those type of chargers don’t require an additional cost. Be prepared to pay and pay idle fees if left plugged in too long. Very cool to be on trolley route Pool seemed nice and clean but I didn’t go in. I’d stay here again possibly, if ybor was my place to stay, but I’d be prepared for a no frills type Hampton.

Great hotel. Stayed here for one night before a cruise. They allowed us to check in early which was nice since our plane got in at 11am. Room was clean. Breakfast was good with alot of variety. (Pancakes, eggs, meats, cereal, yogurt, danishes) great restaurant next door to go to for lunch or dinner. Got a good price thru AAA. |Only reason I rated it a 4 was because we were supposed to get a shuttle to the cruise port but after waiting for 20 minutes past the pick up time they finally told us they driver wasn't coming for another hour. It would have been nice to know that before we waited 20 minutes. I recommend getting an Uber.

Stayed for 1 night. Location is great, within a fair walking distance of the downtown bars and food places and across the road from the tram stop. Bedroom is a great size for the price with everything you need and is very comfortable. Staff are super welcoming and friendly. Varied breakfast choices. Didn’t have the opportunity to try the pool or gym sadly. Would definitely stay again!

Room very clean and appears to have been updated. Bed was very comfy. Surprised at how quiet it was in our room. We expected to hear the trolleys etc but heard nothing. Staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend. The location with the free trolley was the best. Never had to move our car.

We drove up from South Florida to catch the Buccaneers vs. NY Jets game and stayed overnight. The hotel is centrally located—just two blocks from the historic 7th Avenue strip in Ybor City—which made it super convenient for exploring the area. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, which we appreciated after a long drive. Unfortunately, Room 313 had a few issues that made our stay less restful. The bathroom fan didn’t work, there was no night light, and the toilet had a persistent leak that kept running throughout the night. Needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep. The hotel offers free breakfast. It’s nothing fancy, but it did the job. Parking, however, was a hassle. The garage costs $30 per night and was a tight fit for our F-150. We were charged twice and when we brought it up to the front desk, we were told to contact the parking company directly since it’s independently operated. While the location was ideal for our trip, the overall experience left us a bit disappointed. It raises questions about management and quality control. I’d be surprised if the cleaning crew hadn’t already flagged these issues—yet they seem to have been ignored. Sometimes, small acts of neglect can tarnish the reputation of an otherwise promising property. 100125

Wonderful Stay! Hotel and room was clean and comfy. Every staff member that we encountered was very helpful and nice. Every single one. Location was perfect. The only hiccup is the parking situation. We had booked the Park and Stay to cover the cost of the room and parking fees, but when we came back to the hotel on Saturday night, there were no spots available. We were advised to park on the street or a city lot, pay the fees, and request reimbursement from management. Huge problem that needs to be resolved.

Google
Great location! Our room wasn’t ready but Allie at the front desk recommended good options for us to eat and where to go and explore with our 1 year old and 10 year old daughter. The train was close by so we were able to see almost everything. Room was clean and perfect for a family of 4. Allie checked us in and out and made a good impression with my daughter and her obsession with hello kitty bag :) will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Yelp
Got a good night sleep. The rooms are nice and updated. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The only think I am not a huge fan of is that the Main Street entry is blocked so I have to go around the block to walk the Main Street. If I would have known that in advance, I likely would have stayed at the Hilton garden. Breakfast was on par with a Hilton breakfast. Rags, sausage, waffles, oatmeal and some more

Yelp
The GOOD: The room overall, breakfast, gym, and location. The room itself was good, the AC and hot water works. The microwave warmed things up and the fridge kept things cold. Our sheets were free of stains and holes. Breakfast is from 6:30am-9:30am Monday-Thursday? And I think 7-10am Friday-Sunday. Try going as early as possible especially on Sundays if you're wanting breakfast, everyone is checking out and getting their grub on before they have to head out so Sunday felt a lot more hectic than Saturday. I think our favorite thing from breakfast were the mini waffles, coffee, potatoes, and Nutella spread. Location is pretty great for exploring Ybor and just a short 30 second walk will bring you to one of the streetcar stops which will bring you down to sparkman wharf and river walk. The MEH: the waffle batter dispenser during breakfast, air vents being dusty af in our room, and bath tub not draining. The waffle dispenser would get so clogged and guests started taking cups and dipping it into the container to make their waffles which was pretty gross. The dust on the air vent in our room was gnarly - I probably could have rolled it all up into a ball the size of a marble. I forgot to take pics of it but ya, I guess if you have allergies, make sure to take your allergy meds. Our bath tub also wouldn't drain the water quick enough so about 4 inches of water would just sit in the tub as we showered. Also, why aren't the shower curtains plastic? It was a sheet of fabric that wasn't even long enough to stay in the bath as we showered so water kept getting on the floor. The BADBAD: the customer service. I don't know what the desk manager's deal was but this man was so incredibly condescending and passive aggressive. Tbh, I definitely let him get the best of me because by the end of my check out, I just snatched my printed invoice out of his hands. Do I feel good about it and am I proud that I did that? Absolutely not, but I booked a stay at this location for a vacation and the last thing I wanted to do was spend my time getting talked to the way he was talking to me. It was over a handful over conversations that this happened and even when I would try to smooth things out, he would just put on his fake customer service voice. It was the worst customer service I've encountered in a very long time. Even when we were checking in, he made a comment on my partners hoodie which had the good fellas movie on it - he just started antagonizing us about the movie. His coworker thought it was funny, we thought it was unnecessary. I would've rather just have spent the extra $ and stayed somewhere else than have had to deal with him. There's nothing like ending a decent trip with a nasty taste.

Yelp
Building is a bit run down but a great place to stay in the city. Rooms could be a bit cleaner. Free breakfast, great location, secured parking and 24/7 concierge service. Shout out to Janice for checking us in and seeing us go!

Yelp
I recently stayed here. It was $325 for what was about $99 in value. They were nice when I checked in but the room itself was aged and in need of a remodel.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying we have traveled to many places and stayed at dozens of Hampton Inn and Suites just over the last few years. We are also HGVC Owners, so we are pretty loyal to the Hilton brand. Unfortunately, this one fell short. We were traveling with my sister and brother who had their own rooms and none of our rooms had microwaves, which is a basic necessity these days. My husband had to go down to use their mini-microwave one day which is just ridiculous. In fact, my siblings' rooms didn't even have a refrigerator. The bedding was too short and thin and kept coming off of the bed. The faucet to the sink is placed so awkwardly that it is hard to wash your hands and not splash water all over the counter. Just poor design that could have been easily avoided. I did appreciate all of the hooks in the bathroom and the motorized window covering. The bed was hard but the pillows were soft. The breakfast was just not as good as other hotels. The stone grits were far too grainy and the other hot options, an egg and cheese omelet, sausage patties, and waffles, were just okay. It seems that breakfast quality at the Hamptons has gone down within the last year overall which is obviously not good. As for the staff, they were very nice, but we did have one issue. Check out is at 11:00. At exactly 10:00, housekeeping knocked on the door to "just check on our status." I cannot emphasize enough just how annoying this is. I HATE THIS SO MUCH as it makes us feel rushed and like you are ready to kick us out! Don't worry, we have left and will NEVER return! For the love of God, please stop this practice! Last but not least, one of the two elevators was out of order, which made for long wait times as the housekeepers were also using the guest elevators and tying them up at times. My husband just gave up once and took the stairs instead. They also gave my sister and BIL a room which apparently had a pet staying in it prior, so they had to go back down and switch rooms after we'd already arrived late at night. I understand that they are a pet-friendly hotel, but they should set aside some rooms for pets as some people, including my sister, are allergic to pet dander. This is quite dangerous and could truly harm their guests, so they need to deep clean these rooms and enact a separation policy ASAP! All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel and this experience has us reconsidering Hampton Inns altogether for our future travel needs.

Yelp
I had a reservation today for a business trip, not leisure. I woke up this morning and didn't feel well and went to urgent care and was diagnosed with the Flu. I called the hotel to ask if they could cancel my reservation due to being diagnosed with the flu this morning and was told by Ally and Michael Mitchell who is the General Manager that they were going to charge me a full nights stay cancelation fee! This is ridiculous and unacceptable, I have stayed at this hotel before and am also a Hilton Diamond member and this is how I am treated due to sickness. What horrible customer service all around. This is why I have started staying at Marriott properties again.

Yelp
Me and my family were going on a cruise and we had a situation that we weee unable to cruise. So we had to get a hotel which we haven't stayed in over 10 years because we usually get a Airbnb but I'm glad we chose this hotel over all of them. This hotel was very nice, clean and the decor was beautiful and the customer service was GREAT. They had a coffee section with fresh coffee all day long. This hotel had a beautiful pool which was a great temperature not too cold it was just right. There is absolutely nothing bad to say at all about this hotel. Now the best thing about this hotel the Manager/Owner walked around and checked to see if everything was okay and thanked us for staying. I love when they interact with the customers meaning we are more than just a consumer. Constantly you see someone cleaning to make sure they're keeping up with the property so I won't go down. They had a smoke section located away from the front door so the customers wouldn't be able to smell the smoke as the walk in especially those that doesn't smoke. My family will stay here again the hen we come to visit.

Yelp
This place has bed bugs. I stayed 12/19/2024 and there were bed bugs crawling under the sheets. I took pictures and the manager was terrible, told me there was nothing they would do about it. Wouldn't allow us to use their dryer to treat our clothes, manager Trayvin argued until midnight about it and tried to get me to go talk to him in the parking lot about it late at night. Horrible experience. Save yourselves and don't go here.

Yelp
Recently I made a reservation to stay at this hotel. A medical emergency came up and was unable to keep that reservation. Realizing it was past the cancellation date I spoke with several people lastly the day manager. My reservation was for 2/8/25. Cancellation date cut off 2/2/25. Canceled reservation. 2/5/25. After explaining the situation and offering to provide medical documentation. I was told that everyone has "special situations" and policy is policy and I would be held resposible for 400.00+ dollars for the nights stay. Due to the inflexability and the unwillingness to even offer other alternatives I will not stay at a hilton property again and will disenroll from their honors program.

Yelp
Stayed for one night but wouldn't stay here again. We were on the 5th floor in a room with two queen beds, upon entering the room you could smell a hard water and staleness. I checked the room, sat down and the smell kept getting stronger and stronger so I went downstairs to let them know and to see if we could move rooms because the smell of hard old water was extremely hard and if there's a water leak there's possibly mold. I was asked if it was something housekeeping could spray to make it more tolerable I told her no there wasn't and she said well there's no more queen beds anywhere in the hotel just a king. I let her know we need 2 queen beds and she said they didn't have any. Another employee came out to resolve the situation but wanted the first employee to come and see if she could smell anything, she came up said she couldn't smell anything but would move us to a new room with 2 queen beds, now all of a sudden you have a room with 2 queen beds?? Upon her leaving I looked in the bathroom and on the ceiling were a bunch of fresh water spots on it (we never turned the water on, a picture will be uploaded of the water spots I smelled). We were moved 3 rooms down from us, there was a faint smell but it was much much much more tolerable. If it wasn't for a comicon or some big conference taking most of the hotels I would've fully switched hotels.

Yelp
Upon arrival, the Google directions were a little wrong. But I had already researched the hotel prior to arriving in Tampa. So I knew to go around the block to get to Reservation desk. Was met by a pleasant woman by the name of laurie. She checked us in super friendly and helpful. We then met Miguel, who was very helpful. He. Also gave us a ride to our dinner restaurant down the road in a courtesy van. He also will be the one dropping us off for our cruise in the morning. Gave us a little tour of Ybor City and of the establishments in the area. Great history lesson all offer free!!!. Hotel was very clean, very secure. Have a free breakfast every morning. Even having fitness area, which was very clean and had modern equipment. The pool area was a little small, but this area probably is not known for folks coming to sit by the pool all day. But it too was very clean. This hotel definitely has my vote as one of the better ones in the area from what I Experienced here. Probably in my top 3 of all hotels that I've stayed in during our travels.

Yelp
Great Staff, Great Location I am a particular person when it comes to my accommodations. We were met with a friendly front desk staff. The room was very clean and the room was located within walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. The front desk Traveon (I hope that's his name , sorry!) was amazing and made my husband and I feel like VIP. The shuttle driver was also very informative- great staff makes the hotel and they made this a great experience !

Yelp
On 9/4/23 I made a reservation with the Floridan Palace Hotel, 905 N Florida Ave in Tampa. Confirmation #PC10059567226. On 11/19/23 I tried to confirm my reservation and learned this hotel is going through a rebranding to Hilron and reconstruction. I called Hilton and the customer service agent was not able to confirm my reservation or confirm that the hotel would be open mid Dec 2023. On 11/19/23 Hilton's website stated they would be accepting reservations beginning Dec 30, 2023. The google reviews from 11/15/23 had customers complaining they arrived at the hotel only to learn the hotel was not open because of construction. I got very nervous because I did not want to arrive in Tampa and not have a hotel room. So at 10:30am on 11/20/23 I made a reservation with the Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor City with the AVAC group. I thought I would call the Hilton again at 12:15pm to check once again. I finally talked to someone who could give me my new Hilton reservation number which reassured me the hotel would be opening on 11/28/23. I asked the agent to cancel the Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor City. The agent reassured me I would not be charged a cancellation fee because of this unprecedented situation. On 11/24/23 I discovered I was charged $250 for a late cancellation, so I called Hilton and was told I needed to speak to the Sales manager at Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor City on 11/27/23. Apparently she is the only one to allow the cancellation and reimburse me the $250. She called me back and explained she would reach out to AVAC to ask for a cancellation waiver. I called AVAC and they said they don't make those decisions. I have left 2 messages with the Sales Manager and am still waiting for her to call me back. I have had so many difficulties with this reservation - rebranding, reconstruction, inaccurate information. All I am asking is to be refunded for the $250 from the Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor City for the reservation. This is an unprecedented situation which would have happened if Hilton's customer service representatives could have given me accurate information. Thank you!

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised and impressed by this hotel. Seeing the where the location is, rates, and the fact that it is a 3-star hotel; we thought this might not be a good stay or experience. But booked it because of the close location to a musical festival nearby that we were attending. The staff was very nice, friendly, and welcoming to me and my family. My son was even given a treat by one of the staff members. The room was spacious, nice, clean, and looked like they have been updated/renovated recently. The free breakfast in the morning was good and had hot items; like scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. amongst other items. The staff even kept it open even though we got there after they were supposed to be closed. Overall good experience and would stay here again.

Allard d.

Yelp
This hotel has only one thing going for it, location in Ybor. The rest is average. The front desk were not very helpful, but that was in my case. Cleaning of rooms is very slow, checkin is at 3pm. Overall room is clean. Breakfast not impressed. Would I suggest or stay here again , No.

Yelp
I really like this Hampton Inn in Ybor city. I stayed here before many years ago and liked it. This experience was even better. And before I start my review you might ask why only 4 stars, they would have gotten 5 but because of Covid, no hot breakfast, just to go bags. Still though they did have coffee. This Hampton in is located in Ybor city on the edge of the 7th Avenue strip. If you like Ybor city you are pretty much in walking distance of any place you want to visit. It is in front of train tracks so there is an occasional train with horn. Still though my stay was pretty quiet with the exception of about a half hour of a screaming baby. The rooms and amenities are modern and clean. The rooms are updated and nicely furnished. The staff was both friendly and accommodating. It made for a really great experience. Because of covid, there is no free shuttle service. No hot breakfast. You have to request room service to clean your room. And when they clean it you can't be in the room. Also you have to take out your own garbage which I found a little annoying. But it was good to walk down the hall for exercise. Some guests were leaving the garbage outside the door which I find distasteful. Masks are required and enforced here pretty well. The staff wear masks as well although there was one cleaning person who got on the elevator with me on my first day here who was not wearing a mask. In her defense she did have a role of toilet paper in her hand so maybe it was an emergency. They also have purell stations throughout the hotel. The thing I found puzzling. They didn't have hot breakfast because of Covid, but they had hot coffee with the wooden stirrers which were not individually packaged but just left in an open container. Still scratching my head on that one. Two things I really loved. You need a key card to get into the entrance on 7th street. That made me feel a lot safer. Second, behind the hotel right across the train tracks there is a brewery called Barriehaus which has some really good beer. On my weeks visit I was there every day they were open.

Yelp
Thank God I only stayed for here for a night. Let's begin with check in...digital key did not work and when I asked the front desk staff her response was they don't have anything to do with the digital key and not sure why it's not working. I also inquired about the welcome gift I usually get upon check in she said it didn't apply to me. I finally get to my room and notice it's a little chilly but figured housekeeping may have just cleaned the room. I'll get back to the chilly room shortly. There was no alarm clock in the room and I called to request one. I'm told the rooms don't have clocks but she would do a wake up call. At this point I'm beginning to lose my patience and she mysteriously has maintenance bring one after telling me they don't have any. Well the first one doesn't work and he has to come back moments later with another one. Now back to the room temp two hours later with the heat setting on and set to 85 the room is still reading 66 degrees. I call again and maintenance comes. He tells me that there is no heat and brushes off my concern of being freezing like this is normal. As I get ready to explode due to the lack of concern the staff has I tell him to find a portable heater, fix the ac or do something. He storms out the room mumbles in the hallway and the staff at the front desk call me. I explain 66 is not an ideal temperature and management offers to move my room. He then proceeds to tell me he's upgrading me to a suite. Sir I could careless about a suite I now have to move my stuff, prepare for an event in less that 2 hours and I'm only here for a night. Well after making me wait for this new room and calling excessively to see what the delay is I'm finally placed with new keys. So on to the new room. The toilet lid barely fit the toilet and wasn't the right match. The closet doors were broken but at least it wasn't 66 degrees I decided to not waste anymore time with reporting my concerns to hotel staff or management and asked for my concerns to be escalated to corporate. I was given a case number but haven't heard back or received an update on the situation. Nor did I get the email with the case number but the hotel staff provided me with the number. Lastly digital checkout did not work either.

Yelp
The front desk supervisor Tayvion Butler need additional training with his people management skills. He is condescending and rude. Being a Marriott member for over 15 years, even when I did not have status I was never treated in a condescending manner, let alone walk in to an unattended front desk and have to wait 3 minutes for Tayvion to come out without a smile. Not a good first impression from the Hilton brand.

Dick F.

Yelp
All the employees here are miserable. You can see they are outwardly annoyed with anything you ask. The manager - even worse. Don't even bother. She is very unprofessional, does not return phone calls, and fabricates stories to defend horrible behavior. I will certainly not stay here again. Also. - typical hampton, except wore down, musty smelling, dark hallways, paid parking. There is also train that runs outside of the hotel all day and night. My room smelled like someone had smoked in it for 10 years, and then someone sprayed some air freshener. will not stay here again.

Yelp
Very nice hotel clean and modern .Close to all the action in this historic Ybor town. We got a room with two queen beads that are very comfortable . This room has a 65 inch tv so it's very nice , with fridge ,micro wave and coffee pot. Breakfast is at 630 to 9 am .a bag to go breakfast. Hampton inn also has a nice store that you can purchase snacks , wine, ice cream and more. The room doesn't give you a lot of towels or soap .other than this we are happy with our stay.

Kelly L.

Yelp
We stayed here 12/29-12-31 weekend before taking a cruise. It was super convenient. Close to great food in Ybor and entertainment (I recommend Acropolis, Copper Shaker and Southern Bell). The staff was friendly. Janice checked us in and since we were early, they stored our stuff until we could. Miguel, the shuttle driver, was very helpful and friendly. Free shuttle travel within 3 miles of hotel. Located next to one of the free trolley stations, which was very helpful. Hotel was clean. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
RED FLAG FOR FAMILIES. THIS HOTEL IS NOT SAFE FOR FAMILIES. My wife, my two middle school age daughters, and I got a room here in January on a visit to their grandparents for Christmas at their retirement community home in central Florida. I had visited Old Tampa once before and planned to stay here for one night before an early morning flight back home. We checked in around 5 pm, went to dinner in Old Tampa with our kids, and returned to the hotel a little after 7 pm. Afterward, my wife and I went for a short walk in Old Tampa, while the girls stayed to watch TV in the hotel room. Shortly after returning an hour later at 8 pm, we heard a pounding on the hotel room door from the Tampy City Police Department. They let us know that the hotel staff said people were screaming for help. We let them come in, search the room, and know that they must have the wrong room. The hotel staff insisted that it was coming from our room and that we must leave. I asked them if they had concerns, then why didn't they call the room or knock on the door to check if everyone was okay, but they said they could just kick us out for any reason. The police said that there was clearly nothing going on in our room and even tried to talk the manager and office staff out of forcing us to leave the hotel. I tried to tell them that we were not from Tampa and had no idea where to go at 9 pm to get a place to stay. The hotel staff didn't care, told us to leave the property, and that we wouldn't get a refund for our stay even though we had only been there for 3 hours. It was a crazy, scary, and shocking series of events. My daughters and wife were crying and confused. The police apologized and said this hotel regularly kicks out guests without any reason. They also said that unfortunately, because it's private property the police have to remove us when the hotel asks them to. I don't want to even think about what would have happened to our young daughters if my wife and I had not returned from our walk a few minutes before the hotel staff created this chaotic unsafe situation for our family. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HAMPTON INN HOTEL IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY!

Yelp
A solid room with a comfortable bed. The morning breakfast was pretty good as well. The only issues were the nightly noise from 7th street partiers and two days worth of towels that only got replaced every four days.

Yelp
A nice Hampton Inn with friendly staff and a great location with many bars, restaurants and shops within a few blocks. The rooms are a bit out dated but clean. The beds are comfortable! Based on the location, I would highly recommend.

Yelp
We stayed here on 07/09/23 before a 5-day cruise out of Tampa Cruise Port on 07/10/23. I contacted the front desk prior to booking the park-n-cruise rate to ask since we only needed 6 days of parking would they prorate the rate. The lady on the line said, "Yes, just let the front desk know when you check in and they can do that for you at that time." So, we booked it. Show up to check in and the front desk folks act like this is an absurd request and they will not reduce the rate. We ended up paying double what we would have paid to park right across the street from the port. To top things off, they said their shuttle was completely full and told us to take the tram. So, we had to tote all of our luggage, along with my 76-year-old cranky father-in-law, out to the tram stop and from the tram stop to the terminal. Do not waste your time using this location for a pre-cruise stop, and definitely do not use their park-n-cruise rates. What a rip-off, and rude staff on top of that! Gave 2 stars for the location. Great atmosphere not too far away

Yelp
Avoid this property at all costs. I arrived at 11 p.m. Wednesday after prepaying for a room via Priceline to be informed that my reservation had been canceled because the hotel was booked. The two employees at the front desk gave me two phone numbers for a third party that were useless. The only alternative they offered was a nearby hotel where I would have to pay double what I had already paid. After telling them that was unacceptable, I was ordered to "vacate the premises." Instead, I highly recommend the nearby Hilton Garden Inn and the Hampton Inn Channel District. The former had no rooms, but the employee who answered my call personally arranged for a letter that let me spend the night at the Channel District Hampton. I was able to stay a second night at the Hampton for a greatly reduced rate, thanks to the courteous efforts of the staff there. As for the Ybor City property, I spoke to the manager the next morning who backed up his employees' substandard performance. Needless to say, this is inferior customer service and far below the expectations for any Hilton-owned property.

Yelp
If you want to party it up in Ybor this place is the hotel to stay at. It is a stone throw away from all the bars and restaurants. The hotel is very new, clean modern and stylish. As with all the COVID hotels room service is a no go but you can get towels and other supplies from the maids if you need them. Breakfast is unfortunately pretty much non existent other than a banana, coffee and box of cereal. The hotel has a parking lot but we made the mistake of departing on a busy Saturday night. When we came back the lot was full as was the overflow parking. We therefore paid the hotel $15 to park then we had to pay again to park on the street. Be sure to check you receipt when you check out. Our room rate for our second night was $10 more than the confirmation booking. After some hemming and hawing with the front desk it was changed.

Yelp
Update on the Ybor City Hampton... not only was our "Diamond Membership" room floor filthy and bed short-sheeted, we discovered the next morning the dusty crusty coffeemaker contained a used pod. Yeah.

Yelp
Well hands down, this goes to HEMI! You went out of your way to help me get my stuff in and out of my room, you were exceptional with your local recommendations. The customer service I received these past two days were excatly what southern hospitality means. I will come back to Tampa, to stay at the Hampton inn just because of this wonder employeee. Thanks for being a rockstar dude! I hope your management sees this an gives you a damn raise cause you deserve it! Thanks again! Corey & Alyssa from Portland Oregon

Yelp
We love Hampton Inn, this one is in historic district and still being renovated! Loved free trolley ride all over and all the usual amenities

Yelp
There is no wifi at all in this hotel. If you need wifi, stay somewhere else. Otherwise, the place is okay. They're in the middle of doing renovations right now (Oct 2019). My room had a brand new renovation and was beautiful & clean. The bed was somewhat hard, but I slept okay on it.

Yelp
I stayed here for a night for a quick weekend trip to Tampa. We got in late and I had a hard time find the entrance and the front desk attendant helped explain to me how to enter the premises and access the garage. There is a $10 charge to self park in the garage which they just added to the room bill. This area seemed neat and wish we had more time to explore the neighborhood. The room was quite large and the bed was comfy. In the morning they do have free breakfast which includes hot options. They seemed to have everything. I enjoyed my stay here it was quick but quite pleasant. I would happily stay here again.

Yelp
Nice modern room. You pay for parking but very accessible. Good location if you want to be by Ybor next time will try Downtown. Breakfast to go bags because of Covid. Not much to do at night.

Yelp
PROS: - The absolute main appeal about this hotel is the location. It's the only hotel in Ybor City and it makes it so so convenient to stumble back from the attractions and not have to worry about taking a Lyft or Uber back to your hotel. - Breakfast items were well stocked and replenished. The quality of the food was really good considering it was free. - All staff we encountered were very friendly, especially Ms. OJ at the front desk. - Guest rooms were clean and functional CONS: - The rooms are dated and could use a refresh - The parking situation is dreadful. There is a tiny garage that was full at all times. The other options are dedicated street parking or park across the street in a completely unsecured, dark, dirt parking lot. Did I mention you have to pay $10 to park in this sandlot? We felt really uneasy about leaving our car here, but it was the only option. - Elevators say that they require a key to access guest floors, but they do not. You could easily access the elevator in the garage and go straight up to a guest room floor. That seemed unsafe. - This is no fault of the hotel, but the guests in the breakfast area in the morning were unruly. Kids everywhere, people cutting in line...just chaos. There's something about free breakfast that seems to bring out the worst in people. Would I stay here again? Yes. The location is unbeatable if Ybor City is your destination. Is it my favorite hotel? Nah. It's nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done with good service, cleanliness, and location.

Yelp
I booked back in January. I never received a confirmation emails so I figured it didn't go through. So I rebooked with another Hilton hotel in Tampa (thinking it was the same one). I then received an email stating they are charging me for a no show. Its really sad when they were both hilton hotels and they will not help me out.

Yelp
This place was a hop/skip and jump from the port where we were destined for as a cruise was what brought us to Tampa. The place was under construction at the time of our visit but aside from the workers working near the front desk you would not have noticed. The complimentary breakfast was above average for a hotel. Was well stocked and very tasty. I do not anticipate returning to Tampa, but if I do I would stay here without hesitation .

Yelp
This was an OK stay. Bed and pillows not on par with quality and comfort of the many other Hampton Inn's I stayed at. Happy to see full hot breakfast back (return to pre-COVID service). The rooms are equip with a thermostat that has a screen that stays backlit all the time - this was obnoxious ambient light at night (had to cover it with a towel). But the in room thermostat was responsive and kept the room at desired temperature. Parking garage is tight and parking limited but the cost pretty reasonable as far at in city hotel parking fees go. Close to lots of bars and restaurants, although not sure I'd want to walk alone at night in parts of the surrounding neighborhood. Recommend asking for a room on the side of the building facing E 6th Ave as there is a bar on the 7th Ave side that has LOUD live music going. There is an active train track nearby but only heard one train come through in 2 nights but it did blow its horn and it was very loud (proximity to track). Staff was very pleasant. Rooms were clean. Appreciated this location has moved away from the disposable shampoo/conditioner/lotion bottles and has mounted in room supplies.

Yelp
We just stayed here for a couple nights while my husband worked in the area. I used the shuttle service to take the kids to local sites and it was great. Room was clean, breakfast was good. Ybor is not very kid-friendly. I wouldn't walk the streets alone, but the hotel itself felt clean and safe. They are undergoing construction right now during daytime hours. It was noisy during those times.

Yelp
Unacceptably (ridiculously) slow internet. An unresponsive management team. An utter failure to live up to modern standards for the brand and price point represented here. Totally disappointing!

Yelp
An absolute joke for a hotel. We showed up at 5PM on a Wednesday to check in to our room (check in time was 3PM.) Upon arrival we saw about 10 people leaving the hotel all with a beer can in hand and thought that was strange. While in line to check in, the groups in front of us were being turned away. When it was our turn, we were informed by the staff that none of the rooms were ready and they could put our names on a list and call when they were done...with no estimated time available. Their only explanation was that they were having problems with housekeeping and it wasn't their fault. Their solution, offering guests a "treat" from the shop inside...which explained the people leaving with beer. So turns out it wasn't just a few people, the entire hotel was being turned away from their rooms...the rooms that were supposed to be done two hours ago. After not hearing from the hotel an hour later at 6PM we called and canceled our reservation. We were told there would not be a cancellation fee given the issue...yet sure enough there was the fee on our bank account! We were then informed it would go away in 2-3 days. How convenient $127 hold on our account for a room that wasn't even available to us.

Yelp
Okay listen when coming to hotel the main focus is not a tv. But when me and my wife go to sleep we like the extra sounds to help. Well our remote didn't turn the tv on so I had to do it manually no biggie.. but then I couldn't turn channels. I call the fronts desk about it and they said to turn the tv off and on.. really? Better customer service is needed. Shame on this Hilton.

Yelp
Front desk 5/5: Hemsley checked us in and was so great! Great customer service- he told us his recommendations of what to check out in the area.I wish more hotels would have front desk service like this! Pool 5/5: Warm waters, many pool towels available. I appreciated the worker who told us to get out because of the thunder storm, we aren't familiar with those in California so it was nice for them to watch out for our safety! Room 5/5: Clean and well equipped rooms and very spacious! Location 5/5: located right in YBOR it was safe and easy to just walk down and check out the local restaurant and bars. It saves you the $$ from using uber or lyft. Thank you Hampton Inn & Suites for a great stay!

Yelp
I have family in Tampa so I always stay with them. For this trip I took my boyfriend and we wanted to stay near Ybor City where all the bars are that we wanted to hit. I thought the price for the hotel was a little pricey, but you can't beat the location. When we arrived it was kind of cool that the hotel is literally at the beginning of Ybor City. It's also very accessible to the street tram, although we didn't try it. The room was very spacious and everything worked correctly. Even though it's right in Ybor City, it felt a little unsafe at night since it's tucked away in a mostly industrial part of town. This isn't the hotel's fault, this is just how Ybor City is. The staff was kind of blah. They checked me in. They weren't rude, they weren't friendly. I had to ask about the parking and where the elevator was. If the staff would have been nicer I think I would have given this hotel 4/5 stars. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34678-d506420-r539801551-Hampton_Inn_Suites_Tampa_Ybor_City_Downtown-Tampa_Florida.html#

Yelp
We booked our room via hotwire and were very pleased! We wanted a place near Ybor so we could just walk and this was perfect. The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was also good! We hope to return next time were in town!

Yelp
The Hampton Inn, at Ybor city is a small hotel located on 7th street near the downtown area of Ybor city very close to all the business and only a few miles from Down Town Tampa. Small hotel with only four floors and a small pool and a very small parking garage on top and underneath the hotel. The staff was friendly and they did not bother us when we hung the "do not disturb signs". The rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space and also they were very nice with some great beds.. so good you can fall asleep in those beds right away. The room its self was perfect with a small refrigerator and a coffee pot, plenty of towels and a not so bad TV to watch some TV when ever we got bored. My only complain about this hotel was that the parking garage(S) were small and sometimes got really packed to were there was no parking space and we had to drive around looking for one either on the top level were the hotel entrance is or at the bottom below the hotel, come to figure the parking lot across the street is for the hotel and we can park there for free but we did not know till the night before we left. This hotel is in a great location with Ybor city so close by you can walk, there is a lot of night life on the weekends at Ybor city so if you like to go out and do not want to drive to far this is the perfect hotel to stay at. I can not comment on there breakfast because I did not try it but they do offer breakfast every morning. The price for this hotel can be a bit high due to its proximity to so much near by, you have Bush Gardens and The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino near by plus the beach also not far away. If you are wanting to stay near Ybor this is the hotel to stay, nothing to fancy about the rooms but they do have a soda machine and Ice machine in the second level we were staying at only thing is the Coke machine was not working. They have vending machines in the lobby and also sell candy and other snack.I agree with the other people that reviewed this hotel that you need your key card to get in thru the side door, elevator but I am pretty sure they do it for safety reason so that unwanted people do not get in because I did notice a lot of homeless/weird people walking around Ybor city.

Yelp
Ebony was the best!! She really made our experience awesome and put a smile on my face every time I saw her!! Hoping to see her again next year! Her customer service was exceptional. She would be a great asset to any business. They have a complimentary bus they offer to guests. Which was the main reason we booked our hotel here. Apparently this was the first year with the bus so they were unorganized with the heavy flow of people needing rides to the skate park of Tampa. Hoping next year they get a little more organized. I felt they were inconvenienced by us asking for rides, and that they didn't appreciate us asking. Then they would pop new rules as they went along, but they didn't really adhere to them. The Tampa Am is a very big event with competitors from all over the world. I called for a pick up at 6:15 pm and after about 3-4 more phone calls we finally got picked up at 8:30 at night. The place was closed and we were just left standing outside. Waiting in the cold. Hoping that next year they have a schedule of pick ups and drops off to avoid this problem. Will probably stay again next year in hopes they get everything worked out. They have free hot breakfast everyday. Which we really appreciated. With was pretty decent too. Eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and fresh waffles. Yogurts, fruit, juices and bagels. That was worth it in my opinion. I mean, I've had better, but I couldn't complain :) The rooms were also pretty nice, and very comfy beds. I slept like a rock! They cane with a refridgerator, coffee maker and microwave. I love those amenities. The ability to take leftovers and heat them later, is a real time and money saver. And if anyone can save me time and money, I am stoked! They have computers available in the lobby with free Internet. I was able to check my email and print my boarding passes for my flight. For free. Which I also really appreiated :)

Yelp
Very nice hotel in a good location. However, once we left we noticed an extra 230$ fee and we called to question it we were told it was a "smoking fee", absolutely NO ONE in the room smoked anything. The assistant general manager, Rashad, was 0 help and rather rude. Terrible customer service. 230$ is a large amount to charge without even letting your customers know what's going on. We paid a fine for doing absolutely nothing. I can not over state how disappointed we are in this expierence and we will not be returning to ANY hampton hotels in the future. Be wary of random charges when staying here.

Yelp
The Hampton Inn & Suites is a quaint refuge in Ybor City. Sure, it's not the Ritz... so don't expect it to be. That being said, I quite enjoyed my stays. Front desk staff are always friendly, although shuttle driver Tony is the BEST. He will take you anywhere within a mile radius of the hotel, and is always super friendly about it. He also knows the best place to get a Cuban sandwich - just ask! We were also provided with complimentary breakfast between 7-10AM... don't know if this is standard for everyone, or for the rate that we booked, but worth asking about. Hotel, and rooms, are a little dated. But they're clean, and comfortable. Only complaints I have are not within the hotel's control: 1. its location - the couple of blocks around the hotel look a little dodgy. I've walked around without issue, but be careful. 2. The train that comes by every few hours that HONKS IT'S HORN at ALL HOURS as it passes through. This is especially disruptive at 2:30 and 5:30 in the AM. But, not the hotel's fault so I don't want to hold this against them. However be warned.
