Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC-Navy Yard

We were first time visitors to this location in April and it was in the heart of everything.  The rooftop view was amazing - right in front of the ball park - great fire pit and bar selections for late bites. Plenty of places to eat and drink surround this location. Wee didn't have a rental car but the hotel does have valet and there's a big parking lot across the street.  We were greeted at the front desk by Tabitha - she was all business at first but then that smile and attitude were amazing.  We were early for check in and we didn't have to wait long for our room to be ready.  Coffee and relaxing seating was plentiful and the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable.  Breakfast was average and what to expect (i.e, cereals, breads, eggs, fruit) and if you didn't want that, there's an amazing bagel place right around the corner.  Tabitha knew all the guest names in our huge party (we were there for a family wedding) by heart and she, along with the rest of the great staff, was super helpful when we needed anything.  It was a great place to stay and we'll definitely be back.

An absurdly disappointing place. Alright staff, great rooms (though overpriced), but little if any quality of life. The laundry room is pitiful--no coin exchangers, and $10 total (in quarters) for washers and dryers that can't even take a full load of laundry. Mediocre gym, mediocre breakfast, and no pool.

Perfect location, nice rooms and better then expected for a Hampton inn. The hotel seems very updated overall and offers all the necessary amenities expected of this caliber of stay. The breakfast is nothing to write home about but it’s free, hot and contains a nice variety of food. I was not 5/5 thrilled with the staff; however, the majority of them seemed friendly and professional. The high tier rooms are very nice and have excellent views from the upper floors.

Had no issues room was clean staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Its location is perfect steps from the METRO lots of great restaurants close to the ballpark and River.

Maybe it's most appealing feature is the rooftop bar and proximity to the Nationals stadium, but there are many more reasons to stay here year round. The modern, open style of the rooms give the hotel a boutique feel. We stayed in a suite which had plenty of space for 3 of us. It has the typical Hampton Inn breakfast offerings. My daughter loves making waffles. I hate having to get up early on vacation because the breakfast is over and appreciated that it was open until 10 every day. We went to see the sights of DC as a family and this turned out to be a great location. The Metro stop is a block away and you are at the National Mall in 3 stops. Taking the Metro added an extra element of fun. We went to see the sights every day and then returned to enjoy the less touristy Navy Yard area with its many restaurant choices. A friend who lives near DC met us for dinner and was so impressed with the area that has changed so much in the past few years. The biggest drawback is expensive parking which is typical of all the hotels in the area. What the desk clerk won't tell you is that there are other options. Most of the parking garages are only open during baseball games, but we parked on the street for 2 days as we arrived on Sunday and Monday was holiday, so that was free. There is a huge, outdoor lot across the street from the hotel where we could see our car from the room. It was still expensive but less than valet. There is too much in DC to see in just one trip. Most people stay near the attractions, but having gone this unconventional route, we would come back and stay here again.

Rooms are good. Security card for elevators. Staff was great off the charts. Valet service efficient and polite. Text message to retrieve car prior to at least 20 minutes. There's also a convenient parking lot across the street.

We got married at District Winery and had a hotel block here, the hotel was perfect! Spacious suites, great breakfast and felt very safe with keycard access only in the evenings. Perfect location - very walkable to tons of great restaurants. Would definitely recommend!

Everything was great about this place. The staff was very friendly. We had a newborn and they offered a paknplay / crib. It was already in the room when we got there. Breakfast was pretty decent. The metro station was right around the corner. Lots of food options around the hotel as well. Great value compared to other hotels in the area.
