Where to Stay in Nashville (Updated 2025)

"Perfect for budget-conscious families, I like that the Hampton Inn & Suites (located near Vanderbilt University) is pet-friendly, has a large pool, and includes breakfast." - Matthew Kepnes

I'm going to start with a positive, the hotel staff is excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, which can't be said of a lot of service industry staff right now. ||That said, the hotel is disgusting. I realize the Hampton Inn isn't the top of Hilton's line, but this place is rundown, damp and moldy. The tub was absolutely filthy, and the drain was rusty. The beds creak loudly like they're about to fall apart. The pillows are small squares, almost like throw pillows. Some of the light fixtures don't work. The dresser drawers don't close properly. If my trip had been longer than one night I would have had to go elsewhere. I didn't see any bugs, so, it's not a roach motel, but at the rate of decline this property is in, that's probably not far away.||I knew about the parking fee in advance, so I won't complain about that, but it's pretty audacious to charge for parking at a property of this quality. I've stayed at better small-town off-the-interstate Hampton Inn's that are far superior and don't charge for parking.

This may be considered a budget hotel, but it's part of the Hilton family, so it's much better than budget-level. I had a room w 2 queen beds, and they honored my request for a low floor. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom, there were extra towels and also extra bedding. There was a note saying that if I'd forgotten anything I could get it free at the front desk, I got both a shower cap and toothpaste - very helpful! The air conditioning worked well which was important, as it was hot outside! There's a 24-hour gym, which I used. The elliptical worked, others were using the treadmill and bike, and there were weights - definitely all I need when away from home. Also, in the lobby there's always coffee available and I think cookies in the afternoon. The hotel provides free breakfast every day from 6am-10am, was not expecting much and was very surprised to see all of the following: waffles, muffins, bagels, cold cereal, oatmeal, sausage, eggs, potatoes, juices, fruit and yogurt. It's a very generous spread! The staff were polite and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel!

My friend and I booked this hotel for a conference, as it was much more affordable than the designated conference hotels. Overall, it was a solid stay. The free breakfast was a definite highlight, with hot options like scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth, and there was plenty of parking available. The room was fairly basic, but the bed was comfortable, and I slept well each night. However, soundproofing was lacking — I could clearly hear both traffic outside and footsteps in the hallway. The TV lacked streaming options, and there was no in-room safe, which may be a drawback for some. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked with towels, though the shower knob was loose, even if the shower itself worked fine. The fitness center was adequate, though both treadmills were out of order during my stay. Thankfully, the elliptical worked. In all, a decent value stay with friendly service and a great location, even if a few amenities and maintenance items could use some improvement.

Kianna was exceptionally kind and accommodating during our stay. We loved how great the staff were, especially with holding our luggage and making the check in process smooth! The breakfasts were nice to have and rooms were clean. The location for the price was nice for our travel needs. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but overall it was a positive experience.

It was a nice location and I enjoyed the staff. I just want to warn people of the fine print. I booked on Google for 2 nights. I thought 200 a night was expensive but worth it for a birthday weekend for my fiance. I was annoyed to find out when I got there they said “my card declined online” and they had to run it again. Probably a gimmick because I was already there and had no other options when both taxes and parking took my stay up ANOTHER 50%! So $400 expectations became over $600 in the blink of an eye. Again, I liked the place, I don’t like little surprises like that. I’m not thinking to hop on hotel websites and read the fine print when I’ve never had this problem before anywhere else.

Honestly l, I wrote a pretty eloquent take-down to post here, but I changed my mind on posting it.||Pro’s: very helpful staff, esp. Harold. Cleaning crew was spotted keeping the place tidy, which was quite an undertaking. ||Con’s: $40 for parking, a persistent mildew/mold odor all over the building, old AF mattresses that funneled my wife and I to the middle and forced us to sleep on top of each other all night (actually, maybe that’s a “pro”?), the bathroom was no bueno esp. the tub.||Neutral: pool looked like it was in good shape, fitness room looked like it would suffice, free breakfast was worth every penny, not a cent more.||Hotel looks like it’s being updated…slowly. Got a good rate, and got what I paid for- a place to sleep basically.

We often stay at Hampton Inns when traveling because they are reliably clean and well kept. When not on a vacation they are great for moving kids to college and passing through a town. However, our experience at this location was very disappointing. The shower in our room was either hot or scalding. Impossible to take more than a five minute shower. Asked the front desk to look into this and we got no feedback, no resolution or mention of switching rooms. The workout room had signs posted to please wipe down equipment but there were no wipes, water or hand sanitizer. I asked about this at front desk but two days later still nothing. Hotel was run down with worn carpet, a toilet that ran until you went back and adjusted the handle. |Staff at front desk was very friendly, but nothing got done. |Again, an exception for Hampton Inns in my experience but I won’t stay at this one again.

This Hampton is as expected, which is good! Rooms are slightly outdated and could use a little refresh, however they were clean. We had a small refrigerator. The workers were friendly. There is a decent pool outside. Parking is $40(with tax). It was suggested by the Front desk man to go to The Row for dinner- great suggestion as it was next door, had southern food and live music- no wait. We walked downtown- about 1.2 miles.
