17 Easy Weekend Getaways From NYC

"About a two-hour drive For many, the Hamptons conjure visions of Upper East Siders summering in their mansions, and flitting between high society parties. A weekend is the perfect stretch of time to slip into that whirlwind before letting the city ground you once again. Classic to-dos like visiting the Pollock-Krasner house in East Hampton (open May to October), designer shopping in the villages, and waterfront dining are always a good idea, as are summery outdoor activities. Pedal around the Atlantic Avenue Beach area with a bike rental from Amagansett Beach & Bicycle Company, savor a hefty lobster roll at the Dock House in Sag Harbor, or find inner peace in bird-filled Hither Hills State Park. A classic East Hampton stay, the Maidstone Hotel is the perfect place to post up (if you don't have an invite to one of the aforementioned mansions, that is)." - Alex Erdekian, Hannah Towey

My friends were pleasantly surprised sad to say we stayed 1 night only and felt rested. The place has been renovated as the pool was refreshing, it was clean for an outside pool and one would feel to be in the middle of nature while relaxing. Just some few things like doors wouldn't close properly, the ref door banged against the wall. Overall I'll be taking more friends there and my friends too.

Just stayed here, in Cottage 3, with my wife and two other couples and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Spotless, efficient cottage with great AC; staff that looked after us, were super-friendly, helpful and accommodating; beautiful landscaping, great Mexican/Central American hammocks; gas and charcoal (provided) grills; a serious children’s playground; a wonderful pool; and plenty of activities equipment (we played pickleball). The Bravo Hampton Food Supermarket just down the road in the village is amazing, with a great selection of produce, meats, American and Latin products, a serious Colombian bakery and a huge steam table of Latin American food.

😊: Beautiful setting, gardens, seating area, room very clean.. 😢: Nowhere apart from bathroom had any power sockets available to use! None beside beds, nor anywhere in living area. Very odd and not practical..

This is our second year staying here, and it was even better than the first. We love the atmosphere both inside the cottage and outside (swimming pool, playground, etc). Can’t wait to come back again next year!

Our stay at the Hamptons Vacation Inn was perfect! Very centrally located with lots of amenities (pool, lounge chairs, beach towels, volleyballs, etc.). Super friendly family-run business that I would 100% recommend to a friend!

We have stayed here many times over the past 5 years. The cottages are clean with well equipped kitchens. Love having a screened in porch, my dogs have loved it too.||The grounds are well kept with nice plantings. The pool is clean and pool floats a plus. The new air conditioning units in the cabins work great and very quiet. It is a convenient location to get to other areas in the Hamptons as well as the beach.||It is near the highway and railway but inside the cottage it is quiet. The number of trains that go by is very small and small number of cars

Stayed here for 4 days with my family and it was amazing! The owners are super friendly and accommodating. Our cottage was spotless and roomy enough for our family of 4. We didn't have maid service, but anything we wanted or needed was just a text or phone call away. Loved the pool, playground, and tennis courts. Kevin, one of the owners and tennis pro was so patient and knowledgeable, he's a great teacher! We loved our entire stay and can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed our stay here after a long beach day. The place is quaint and charming. We had a room that opened out to the garden which was lovely to sit during sunset or sunrise. The property has a pool, hammocks, play ground for the kiddies, swings etc. There were a lot of seating. Easy to get into town from here and to the surrounding beaches. There are cottages with a kitchenette, which we will try another time. The front desk lady/owner was very nice at check in and the room was clean with parking out front which was ultra convenient to load and unload the car. We will be back again.
