Hana Sushi Mx

I would generally avoid this place if you are gluten free as there are relatively few options that don't involve deep fried or tempura ingredients and the staff aren't 100% sure which items do / don't have gluten. That said, the staff were friendly, the food we did order was nice (but quite mayonnaise-y), and gluten free is less common in Mexico anyway so not an issue for most.

This place is off the hook. Came on a Saturday night- it was packed and took a very long time to get food and drinks. It was very good. So we came back at opening time and it was much faster. Service and the sushi chefs were very kind. English is spoken here. Pro tip: they keep the sushi bar air conditioned so it’s a lil cooler in there if it’s hot out. Every roll that came off the sushi line looked delicious. Himawari and my friend’s roll was FANTASTIC. Mezcalita was very good. I would move to La Paz just for this place :-p Edit to add: curricanes are just… perfection! YUM!!

Nice ambiance, attentive service. The fish isn’t frozen which is a plus (lots of sushi places in Mexico use frozen fish) and options without cream cheese (another Mexican sushi thing I don’t like), so all in all it’s a win for me. The only suggestion is the non-sushi items are a bit too salty for my taste. But maybe I’m the outcast - I find a lot of people here (mainly Americans) like very salty food. If I live here, I’d still come back.

The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, warm and comfortable. We chose a table outside but the inside bar look so inviting as well! The only downside of my dinner with my bf, is that they seem to just let anyone in… there was a really drunk and loud man in the table behind us, and he kept inviting kinda hippie looking tourists to sit at his table (cause there were non other available at the time) just to be louder and get drunker with them. Kind of ruined my dinner by the end. Otherwise, I recommend the sushi. Curricanes 9.5 (it would’ve been a perfect 10 if they weren’t so stingy with the white sauce). I can’t remember the two rolls my bf and I ordered, but they were pretty tasty lol

The restaurant is almost hidden from the street and very nicely designed. The food was amazing and service great. A must visit if you like sushi

Loved the sushi here because it’s not your usual Philadelphia-cream-cheese-filled-roll like in other places! The tempura spring onions on top of the Hanami roll were divine, the Sakura roll (no picture) was very fresh, and the Tonkotsu ramen was flavorful and thick! Also, we ordered the okonomiyaki which was also delicious. The udon wasn’t my favorite…service was overall okay because it was a full house but the host gave us an option to sit at the hibachi seats which wasn’t too bad either. We appreciated their attentiveness for sure. Definitely will go back soon!

Hana is my favorite sushi spot in LAP, bar none. Fresh, quality ingredients, accessible prices and good service are their trademarks. If you sit at the bar inside, you can shoot the breeze with the sushi “maestros” as they work their magic. It doesn’t hurt that this place is 3 blocks from my house🤙🏼

Great place for fresh sushi rolls. Definitely authentic, none of that Philadelphia cream cheese nonsense in sushi.
