Loved the Kalua pork here. Very fast service. There are a few covered picnic tables to eat at right next to the truck. Potato salad has pieces of taro! I tried the poi. It was very good for poi, and the portion was very large. Definitely would go back.

Google
Incredible fresh poi! Finally! It wasn’t sour at all. We got the Lau Lau and Kalua pork plate and it was a big portion and SO TASTY. I had high hopes and this place exceeded my expectations. Thank you for a great authentic Hawaiian plate lunch!

Katlin

Google
Some of the best Kalua Pork we had on the island! The Taro Mochi Cake is also a must try.

Quinn Lin

Google
I love taro! They had a couple cool taro dishes available like a taro burger. However, I wanted to try some Kauai pork and got the sandwich, #6. We had 5 people order various items and there was a rush that came after us so I understand the confusion, but they got my order wrong. Fortunately they fixed it right away and the food waa AMAZING, I really love that sandwich! It was a perfect lunch right before we went kayaking. :) I packed half the sandwich for later and then forgot to take it after kayaking so that part is really sad. All that means is I'll have to come back to eat another sandwich from here again!

Google
The Lau Lau was good. That’s pork and seaweed wrapped in banana leaf. I liked this much better than regular Kalua pork and cabbage. This has much more flavor. I guess $14 is within reason. It came with mac salad which had too much mayonnaise. It also came with a yummy taro desert. Also had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Not very much pork but it tasted good. Comes on a hamburger type bun. Very bready. It was small, but it was only 8 bucks. But the disappointment was the mango tango smoothie. It was mostly ice and couldn’t taste much of any of these juices: banana, mango, strawberry, guava, or taro.

Stopped here after a hike to Hanakapi’ai beach. No wait, food came out fast. The kalua pork… 10/10! Moist, huge portion, amazing. Skip the poi. Could of ate a whole plate of Mac salad, sad they only give you a keiki-sized portion.

Google
Had the kalua pig tacos with lomi lomi salad. Two great local specialties in one bite. mac salad was fabulous and the taro hummus on my wife's wrap rocked! This is a must visit. Not open long but a great place to catch a great local food meal!!!

Google
Everything here is delicious!! I ordered the Laulau Plate with poi and rice, then stocked up on kulolo and their mochi cakes. Laulau is phenomenal, Poi here is FRESH and the kulolo is the best I’ve had. Eat here!

Yelp
A cute little food truck with outdoor picnic benches. Friendly Roberta prepared our food within minutes of ordering. We had the laulau Hawaiian lunch. Loved the laulau, filled with a generous serving of tender, moist pork and delicious luau leaves. My first taste of Hanalei poi, so fresh with a slight sweetness. Lomi salmon was so tasty, wanted more. Also bought kulolo and taro mochi, so delicious! Ginger lemonade was delicious and refreshing with the Hawaiian food. I am salivating just thinking about all the ono food we had. We will definitely go back on our next visit to Kauai.

Yelp
Not a bad Taro Burger! Although I've only had the one, I did enjoy it. Not a taro expert, but I didn't seem to be able to taste too much of it, and made me wish the potato "meat substitute" patty was a bit bigger. However, service is okay perhaps a touch stingy, but manageable. It's a food truck in Kauai, so the atmosphere is good when the weather is good.

Erin B.

Yelp
Awesome service, accessibility, and absolutely fantastic food. Loved the ladies and all of their advice what and how to eat this delicious food. Thank you!

Yelp
We came here after visiting the Kilauea Lighthouse as we were looking a substantial meal with pork. I'm so glad we did. There are some tables under a cover next to the food truck for seating. We ordered: +Roast Pork with Brown Gravy (daily special) - 5/5 get this one! The pork is tender, a little fatty, and the brown gravy is good on everything (including the poi). +Kalua Pork Lunch Plate (half poi and half rice) - 3.5/5 pork was decent but nothing special. Mac salad is good. I haven't had poi in over 10 years as I wasn't a fan the last time, well, can't say I'm a fan now lol. The brown gravy did make the poi more tolerable tho. It also came with a small piece of taro mochi cake, which was the perfect sweet finish to the meal even though I was stuffed. We ended up getting a large piece of the taro mochi cake with macadamia nuts (great snack for the plane!) Tip: I also saw this food truck at the Grove Farmer's Market on Saturday.

Yelp
Vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free will find something tasty at the Hanalei Taro truck. It's the perfect spot to grab lunch that is nutritious and supports this local kalo farm. There was no line when I walked up to the truck. Ordering was easy since the menu is small. The taro/kalo burger was delightful. I loved the layers and flavor of the patty. You must get a side of the taro Mac salad (sold separately). The taro in the Mac salad melts in your mouth. You can't sleep on the kulolo (vegan and gluten-free) and mochi (gluten-free options)! It's the perfect sweetness and tastes wonderful. So ono! Service was patient as I decided on treats. The food was made to order and quickly too. I ate my meal at a nearby picnic table. I just couldn't wait.

Yelp
So excited they were open in the down pour at 10 am this morning! Delightful people serving up a Luau on a plate with fresh smoothies and taro goods for me to fly back home with (whatever survives my snack times). They're only open fri-sun so I made sure to try today before Sunday in case weather made them close. Loved everything in our combo plate! Less salty than I've had of all the things except the kalua pork. The chicken was so tender and flavorful, falling off the bone and the lomo lomo was fresh and also less salty (thank you!). The rice was a great compliment to the meal, a short grain sticky rice like with sushi. Even served with a slice of taro mochi cake and the best Mac salad I've had between Maui and here. My honey doesn't usually like it but he was finishing it before I realized! My smoothie was perfection, the flavors fresh and cold to the warm plate. My honey loved his ginger lemonade. They have a covered area we could enjoy our plate and drinks in the pouring rain without issue and were very grateful for our patronage. If you love taro or mochi or luau staples, you'll save a bundle and be well satisfied eating here!

Yelp
So happy with the quality and taste of this food! It's a cute little truck and if there's something specific you want, come early because they can sell out. Service is friendly! My husband and I shared the plate which had both lau lau and kalua pork. Let me also say that this was the best lau lau I've had in Hawaii! The meat was moist and the taro leaves were perfectly cooked. Kalua pork was also flavorful and moist. The plate also came with lomi lomi salmon, mac salad, rice, and poi! Poi was fresh and delicious! We also had their poi mochi which was so good and their mango smoothie - very refreshing. They have outdoor table seating. And if you ask, they can also give you some chili water which tastes delicious with their meat items!

Chad K.

Yelp
Best point and Hawaiian plate hands down. Bugga was so ono. Service was amazing is narrowing down my choice in what to get. And atmosphere of the place was quite amazing as well. They're a bit tight on parking but your more then able to sit right besides there wagon on there table to eat. While eating you're able to enjoy a nice view of a speckle of their taro fields and what looked like to me possibly they factory. All in all it was a great place with awesome tasting food. If in the area and looking for Hawaiian food look no further this place will do you good.

Linda C.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I had the Lau Lau plate. I am Puerto Rican and we make pernil (pork) similar. Let me tell you that this place sure can cook that pork. It was moist and flavorful. A plus they have a sauce mixed with vinegar that goes well with the pork. I tried poi and it was creamy, like a pudding. It was good. Believe me I ate the whole plate and I had a stomach buzz. If I ever visit Kauai I will definitely go to Hanalei Taro.

Vance U.

Yelp
Lau lau was out of this world! So ono. Roberta, Natasha and Stacey were so friendly and fun. Eat here!

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
This is a great food truck in the Hanalei area. We arrived a bit later in the afternoon so options were more limited (some items sold out), but enjoyed that they had both savory food options as well as smoothies and baked desserts featuring their locally grown taro. Everything we had was delicious, and service was fast and friendly. Loved their mochi cakes especially.

Ember J.

Yelp
Was pretty ono. The sandwich was pretty good if you like sloppy and BBQ sauce...which I do.

Jay K.

Yelp
First off, let me say that the town of Hanalei is a wonderful place indeed! Upon walking through the town, we stumbled upon the small trailer store of the Hanalei Taro & Juice company. We actually weren't even thinking of trying anything but were curious as to what taro items they were selling, as we had noticed the beautiful taro farms in and around town. We were very familiar with the various taro products being offered around Kauai but were drawn to the taro mochi cakes laid out on the front counter of the store. There were three different kinds of taro mochi cakes, one just with taro, another made with macadamia nuts and the other one with coconut (as I recall but could be wrong about this one). We decided to purchase the taro & macadamia nut mochi cake and try it. The cost, around $7 seemed well worth it. My wife and I shared it with some excellent coffee just nearby. Wow, what a flavorful experience, along with the cup of fresh coffee. We decided that we would be back to purchase all the flavors of taro mochi cake to take back with us to the mainland. Unfortunately, we hadn't noticed that they were only open for three days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). During the rest of the week they were closed. I tried desperately to find out if they would be open another day, as the local shops had mentioned that they would be open on Monday or Tuesday. Much to my dismay, they were not. I tried calling them to find out or at least speak to someone about where I could possibly go oil Kauai were they sold their products but no one called me back. Finally I tried leaving a message and was texted a response saying what I already knew, that they were only open for the three days mentioned. I even let them know that I was going back home on Thursday and really wanted to buy some more taro mochi cakes. They told me to go to their online shop and to order them. So sadly I tried their online store and they only offered the one flavor of taro mochi cake, plain. I tried ordering (4) cakes and found that the shipping was more than the taro mochi cakes. To purchase (4) plain taro mochi cakes it would cost me over $50.00. Now, I really loved them but not for over double the normal price. If they could have taken the extra time to talk to me or even texted me and explain where I could've gone to buy them, I gladly would've. I know that if I was running this taro shop, I wouldn't want to lose a customer and would've taken the extra 2-3 minutes to make sure that I took care of the customer, especially since they traveled so far and most importantly loved my products! Loved their cakes, but not their cold service.

Yelp
Food truck. We stopped as part of a food tour and had a sampling that included shredded pork, poi and rice. Really nice. Hubby really liked the poi. Their chili sauce is awesome

Kaelin A.

Yelp
this was the best lau lau i've ever had, and i've had a lot! the pork had so much flavor and i liked the amount of taro leaves they used. there's a small parking lot in the back and there's tables next to the truck to eat at. i would definitely come here if you like lau lau!

Gerald L.

Yelp
The Lau Lau was good. That's pork and seaweed wrapped in banana leaf. I liked this much better than regular Kalua pork and cabbage. This has much more flavor. I guess $14 is within reason. Yelp
This place is delicious!!! Very authentic Hawaiian food. Get the mix plate you wont regret it. The meat was moist as it was wrapped in i think banana or taro leaves. The poi is good but is a required taste. If thats not for you just get the rice. And then you HAVE to get the taro mochi cakes. My absolute fave!

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious.... We will be back for their authentic LauLau and Poi. The owner is super sweet too.

Yelp
One of the best hawaiian food plates I've had. If you're in Hanalei or driving through Hanalei, I'd highly recommend stopping here at Hanalei Taro and Juice company food truck. Yes, it's a good truck and you'll have to eat your plate lunch at a picnic table outside, but, wow, such great food!! You'll miss out if you don't. I got the laulau plate. I kinda wish they had a laulau bowl option like they have a kalua pig bowl option. Not to say that the lomi lomi salmon, kulolo and Mac salad were not good. They're so good! It's just a lot of food. I also got a smoothie. We ate our lunches at one of the picnic tables nearby. There were a lot of chickens out and about. There were also quite a few tourists and locals standing in line, ordering food and eating at the other picnic tables. I noticed a few other food truck looking places around, so I'm sure if nothing at hanalei tarp interests you, there are other options around. I'm not sure who would ever do that....who can so no to laulau and kulolo???? Yum yum.

Caitlin N.

Yelp
If you're in the Princeville area, this is a must try spot! We came here two days in a row because we loved the food here. Be sure to check their hours online; we heavily relied on it to know when to go. Our faves: kalua pork, Mac salad, and their taro cake!

Shawn H.

Yelp
For our second straight Kauai trip, this absolutely hit the spot. This time, we got the kalua bowl with poi and rice, the King Kalo plate, and went multiple days for their daily smoothie. The smoothies are my favorite on the island and I can't recommend those enough. The plate and bowl were also fantastic, especially the lau lau pork for me (and with their hot sauce), and my wife was absolutely in love with the kalua pork. I also loved the taro hummus and chips. We'll definitely be back.

Ann N.

Yelp
i wanted to try popular hawaiian cuisine and this cart was the perfect chance since i had never had lau lau or poi. we tried this cart at the grove farm market and there was a huge line the entire time we were there. the food was amazing. we got the mixed bowl (chicken lau lau, poi and rice) and i could not believe how tender the meat was. the chicken slid right off the bone and it was cooked perfectly. my boyfriend and i shared this meal and we found the price to be a great deal for the portion size. we were able to get full off sharing single bowl. the worker was super nice and we were able to get our food about 5 minutes after ordering. i really enjoyed this meal and i was super impressed by the quality! would totally recommend

Yelp
Hanalei Taro is a small food truck that provides not only great Hawaiian comfort food plates, but also drinks including ones with taro! After hiking the NaPali Coast for almost seven hours, my friend and I were ready to just indulge with everything and anything! In the late afternoon hours, actual food options become scarce. Luckily, we had stumbled upon Hanalei Taro Company with its good reviews and frequent mentions in articles. They actually are based from an actual company that spans generations producing taro in the Hanalei area and segued into a food truck with several taro based products including taro hummus and taro smoothies. Once we had the food and drinks, we could easily understand why Hanalei is popular! We had ordered Kalua Pig Plate with their famous kalua pork and lau lau pork. Each of their platters comes with poi or rice or both, taro macaroni salad, lomi lomi salmon, and a taro dessert. Although the kalua pork was great and tender, I was more impressed by the lau lau pork! Wrapped in lu'au and ti leaves and then steamed, the pork came out beautifully warm with fatty deliciousness. With the lomi lomi salmon to add that extra acidity, each bite was pure heaven. I was also impressed with the poi, which is basically fermented taro root that has become a paste. I have had it several times in Hawaii and found it barely edible, but here it was actually pleasant! The taro dessert was a taro mochi cake that was that perfect mix of light caramel sweetness with taro pieces. In addition to the plate, we had ordered the taro smoothie and guava juice. The taro smoothie we had was a dairy free thirst quenching drink that felt almost like acai. The guava juice tasted fresh and refreshing as well! The service was quick and fast. Parking is available but was a little limited when we went. Overall, Hanalei Taro is a must go spot for food and drinks when you are in the North Shore!

Peter H.

Yelp
We had a Pork lau lau plate with lomi lomi salmon ($12) as takeout for the flight back to NYC. Taro was flush in nearly all components! -Lau lau pork: peel off the ti leaf for a perfectly textured bundle of taro leaves flavored with luscious pork essence and saltiness from the fish. -Lomi lomi salmon: Made ahead of time, mostly tangy tomatoes but with little chunks of smoked salmon. A nice balance to the heavier pork. (no taro, haha) -Mac salad: easy to devour quickly. I liked the aesthetic, with the light purple taro chunks (lavender is my favorite color) -Poi: we split the base half and half. It was more neutral and liquidy than I expected. Say, it was much closer to the soup part of porridge than the rice part. -Kulolo: taro, coconut milk, and sugar. As decadent as you might expect. The Sweet with a springy texture, nothing like mochi. -White rice: average quality grains. -hot sauce: floral, vinegary. Cut through the pork well. I wish we could've gotten a local fruit juice, but alas, TSA.

Yelp
Tried at the Saturday farmers market in Lihue and went again to their truck in Hanalei because I wanted to try more things. I got the chicken lau lau plate which came with the lau lau, poi, lomi salmon, mac salad, rice and a bite of dessert- mine was kulolo. everything was fresh and tasty. I don't always like poi but I liked theirs so much I went again and got the kalua bowl which was kalua pork and lomi salmon over poi and/or rice (I just got poi). I also tried their smoothie of the day which had strawberry/mango/banana/guava/and taro. I couldn't really taste the taro but it was good regardless. Good prices, portions and quality.

Judy C.

Yelp
The first five Yelp reviews I read for this place used several exclamation marks and words in all caps. My interest was piqued by such a devout following. Not being one to use all caps in my reviews, I had to see what place could stir up such enthusiasm. After having gone there, in one word, YES!! There were several people in line in front of me so it took a while to get my order in. However, it only took a couple minutes before my order was ready. I was torn between Kalua pork or lau lau so got the King Kalo mixed plate despite it being too much food for me. From the first bite of the kalua pork, I understood what the rave reviews were about. This is one of the best kalua porks I've had. It's moist and flavorful, if a tad on the salty side but goes oh so well with the rice and poi. Speaking of poi, I never understood the enthusiasm for poi until now. This is the first time I have finished eating the poi. The lau lau pork was also good, maybe a smidge on the dry side, but was also the freshest lau lau I've had. Mac salad and taro mochi were also stars. In fact, I regret not getting the brick of taro mochi. This is now on my must visit list the next time we are in Kauai. Especially since I was told I missed out by not trying the taro hummus.

Sammy T.

Yelp
Okay. I had the "King Kalo" Mixed Plate. 3 stars is not because this place wasn't yummy, it is that I realized that Kaulua Pork and Lau Lau pork are not for me. The Kaulua pork and lau lau tastes objectively like any other place. My only comment on the Kaulua Pork is that it's on the fatty side. The lomi lomi salmon though was pretty good (but like other Yelpers, it taste like smoked fish pico de gallo) They also sell Hanalei taro which was a little too sweet for me. You can definitely taste the taro but also a heavy dose of coconut sugar (?). The texture was interesting. You bite into it and it sort of sticks to your teeth after each bite - but not like glutinous rice cake, more like mashed taro. On the other hand, the taro mochi cake tastes really good. It is definitely less traditional but i liked this texture more. It was also less sweet which was another key reason I liked it more.

Tina H.

Yelp
Our plate lunches were so onolicious! Best place to have Hawaiian favorites. Can't go wrong with #1 and #4! Will save our mochi cake for later!

Brian C.

Yelp
Certainly a highlight of our trip to Kauai a few years ago that we talk about time after time. I am typically not a poi fan, but my trip to the Hanalei Taro Food Truck completely changed my mind!! I was amazed at how fresh and tasty their food was. We recently found out they ship to the mainland and couldn't be happier with their farm fresh delivery service. Lyndsey is a true star and and we really appreciate her for passing on and educating the next generation on taro farming and sustainability... truly a lost art. Please support this local business...they're doing things the right way and their products are high quality and service is great! We just received our order and couldn't be more excited!! Thank you Hanalei Taro!

Adrienne L.

Yelp
I ordered in advance and picked up. Lyndsey was great at communicating via e-mail. This is a food truck but there is some outdoor seating under a tent. I did not eat there and took food back to the hotel. Got to try a diversity of dishes - bbq pork sandwich, taro sandwich, smoothie, kulolo and mochi cake. What I didn't expect (I should have done research in advance) was the kulolo being super sweet and rich. I got a large size and it was way too big. I ended up bringing it back to the mainland. There was a problem going through TSA. The kulolo was the one that set the machine off lol. Just FYI if you want to travel with kulolo to ship it if possible.

Gaby T.

Yelp
The folks running the counter were super nice and the food was amazing & def get the Kulolo and the #1plate :)

Peaches H.

Yelp
Stopped in here really quick for some kulolo and found some bonus Taro Mochi cake! The ladies were super nice and accommodating! Almost no wait at the food truck and look forward to coming back. Kulolo is so hard to find on the other islands but you know Hanalei is known for Taro!

Annmarie L.

Yelp
Second time coming to this food truck. Got the kalua pig plate. The pork was good quality, not too much throw-away fat. The reason I return here is the poi - so hard to find on a plate lunch and theirs is so ono. My baby even liked it two days later.

Kelvin Y.

Yelp
The Taro Mochi Cake was a hit with everyone including our granddaughter. Nice Lau Lau plate with a variety Hawaiian delicacies including a fresh Lomi Lomi Salmon. Super delicious Poi. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

Ashley Y.

Yelp
LOVED everything here. Got the mixed plate with poi, smoothie special, and taro hummus/chips. The hummus and chips were gone so fast, I could've ordered another if it wasn't for the long line. ProTip: If you order any of the large platters, it comes with a dessert of choice!

Chantal L.

Yelp
Yummy! Very quick and the food was super tasty! J got the number 2 and the papaya smoothie

Sharon T.

Yelp
Taro mochi cake was delicious. The bbq sauce for the kalua sandwich was way too much.

Chuck D.

Yelp
We got to the farmers market on Saturdays at Kauai Community College really late as we were coming from a morning spent at Waimea Canyon. But I was able to buy some kulolo and taro mochi cake before the Hanalei Taro truck closed up... In fact, I was their very last customer that day at the farmers market. I'm bummed I didnt get to try any of their plate lunches. I saw that they have lau lau on the menu and I would have ordered that for sure... My good friend Michael A. has brought us back kulolo from Hanalei Taro on his yearly trips to Kauai and the Haraguchi farm. Their kulolo is real good. Not too sweet but very tasty. Perfect sweet bites after a savory Hawaiian meal. We also see their products sold at other food places on the island such as Konohiki Seafoods which is great. This was my first time trying the taro mochi cake and I must say it is SO GOOD. I like it more than the kulolo now... It's moist, spongy and just tastes great. I love anything mochi and this combined with taro I thought was perfect. I brought it back to the place we were staying while on the aina and it was all gone within a few hours. I wish I would have bought more so I could take some back to LA. I have asked my friend to bring back some of that delicious taro mochi cake when he goes to Kauai later this year. Cant wait. Service was friendly and quick. Will make sure to make it early to the truck and to the farmers market next time we're on Kauai!

Melinda L.

Yelp
Food truck operated by Hanalei Taro, a family farm. Can also find some products (including poi, taro mochi cake, and kulolo) at local grocery chains. Prior to pandemic, farm offered tours. Specific options tried: 1. Lau lau plate with pork, double serving of poi (FYI: can also choose to have double serving of rice or half rice and half taro), lomi salmon, taro macaroni salad, kulolo Taste - 5/5!! Lau lau was SO GOOD. Moist, rich, flavorful. Luau leaves were really good too! Regarding the poi: enjoyed the texture + strong taro flavor. Not sour at all. Small brick of kulolo was delightful + nice way to top off the meal. Macaroni salad featured chunks of taro. Only low point: my first time having lomi salmon - tbh tasted like fishy pico de gallo, which was unexpected and unwelcome. Order again? YES. I am not generally a fan of pork, but the lau lau was transcendent. Consider splitting with a friend because of the generous portion size! 2. Taro mochi cake Taste: 3/5 - texture was more cakey and flavor less taro-y than expected. Nice to have small taro chunks within the loaf. Order again? Would consider getting a different flavor (sold out by the time I arrived on the scene around 1:30PM); however, this somehow still did not stop me from inhaling the loaf anyways... Few additional notes: 1. Stop by the Wishing Well for shave ice (in the same lot), or consider eating an entire loaf of taro mochi cake (like I did) for dessert. 2. Food truck people were incredibly nice, non-judgmental, and answered all my questions regarding the nature of the different food items. 3. Outdoor seating available. 4. Inquire about hours of operation, which are subject to change Overall review: 5/5. Highlight of the trip. Amazing food and thoughtful service. Very cool local operation.

Yelp
One of my must-visit food place in Hanalei!!! The Hawaiian food is super fresh and mouthwateringly delicious. I am a major fan of their chicken lau lau (which is so hard to find at any Hawaiian restaurant on the mainland), mac salad, and smoothies of the day. My husband enjoys their kalua pork plate. Just thinking about the food is making me want it. The two times we visited the island, we seem to make frequent visits to this food truck because we're craving their food. Highly recommend, especially if you are in search for some authentic Hawaiian food. If you need a little break from Hawaiian, they also offer other options like a turkey sandwich. Also, must try their smoothies. They are made fresh every day, and they change daily so you can go every day and try something new.

Stacy F.

Yelp
The lau lau's are amazing I highly recommend them! The meat is so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth. But they are only open on Saturday and Sunday :( so make sure you visit Hanalei on the weekend to try this place!

Quinn L.

Yelp
I love taro! They had a couple cool taro dishes available like a taro burger. However, I wanted to try some Kauai pork and got the sandwich, #6. We had 5 people order various items and there was a rush that came after us so I understand the confusion, but they got my order wrong. Fortunately they fixed it right away and the food waa AMAZING, I really love that sandwich! It was a perfect lunch right before we went kayaking. :) I packed half the sandwich for later and then forgot to take it after kayaking so that part is really sad. All that means is I'll have to come back to eat another sandwich from here again!

Hannah M.

Yelp
We've been struggling to find good places to eat at around here that aren't ridiculously priced, and we finally found one! We ended up ordering a mini kalua pork and a lau lau plate with both rice and poi. Everything was delicious, including the poi. I've been trying to get used to the taste of poi for a few years now, and this has been the only poi that I've liked so far. Our order was ready within a few minutes of ordering, but everything was piping hot. We sat at one of the picnic tables, which was in the shade (that was a definite plus) and ate a few bites before taking it back to our hotel, where there were no flies or roosters or hens trying to get our food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some ono Hawaiian food, and we would definitely return soon....as in tomorrow.

Yelp
While we weren't impressed with the food in Kauai overall, this food truck served up some super tasty plate lunch. After visiting Queen's Bath, we stopped to dry off and stumbled on this gem. We got the kalua pork + lau lau plate, which came with rice, lomi lomi, mac salad, poi, and a small bite of taro dessert. The lau lau was heavenly and we devoured the plate in record time. We had better lomi lomi and kalua pork elsewhere, but thought this truck had the best lau lau. The poi was just meh and we could've done without. Definitely a great, quick stop if you're driving by and want some tasty pork goodness.

Yelp
I left my purse here with all my belongings!! There was a lot of cash inside, my driver licenses and 3 credit cards. I could have been robbed but, the people around here are very honest and I was very lucky that they saved it for me. The taro mochi cake is delicious! I'm going to go back & buy some more to bring back home for my mom. The taro juice was nice and thick. It's really authentic not like jamba juice. PEOPLE: This place is a winner winner chicken dinner!!!

Yelp
This place was awesome! We had the Kaulau pork and Lau Lau combo. The Lau Lau was the first we got to try in Kauai and it was incredible. Such good flavor. We also got their macadamia nut taro dessert which was so favorful and had a unique texture. My one regret is not paying better attention to their weird hours. Because of the way our trip planned out they were closed most of the time we were in Hanalei so we only got to eat there once. Would definitely recommend the stop!

Yelp
This was next to Wishing Well so we stopped by to get a plate. It was a food truck so you walk up to order and then grab your food to go. FOOD - My friend ordered the kahlua pork plate. It came with pork, rice, mac salad, salmon salsa, and taro mochi cake. The pork was nice and shredded with good flavor. The mac salad had a weird aftertaste to it. Not sure what it was but I prefer LnL's mac salad. The mochi cake was different but tasty. It had a good chewy but soft texture to it. I think we could have passed on this food truck. I wouldn't say it's a "must go to" place in Kauai.

Yelp
How can you not try some kalua pork in Kauai? This food truck is located in Hanalei town. Small menu but yummy food to eat. There are some benches with a tent on the side. It can get very busy because it's so popular! We ordered the Kalua Pig Plate ($11) to share. The combo comes with a scoop of rice, mac salad, lomi lomi salmon, poi, kalua pork, and a piece of taro mochi cake. We could have gotten extra rice instead of poi. But I thought I would give it a try. I regret it. I was never a poi fan. That small side of poi was sour. I have nothing against poi. But it isn't my thing. My bf didn't like it, and I didn't want to waste it, so I had to hold my nose and swallow it whole. Arghhh..Besides the poi everything on the plate was soooo good!! The seasoning and taste were delicious. I love kalua pork! Taro mochi cake was like a sample for us. It was good. So I bought one for myself to take back home. There was a sale that day so it cost $3 for taro mochi cake. It's usually $5 I think. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Kalua pork plate is soo yum yum!

Yelp
Ugh hard to write this review without drooling thinking about the food. One of the very few authentic Hawaiian food places you'll find on the island so definitely give it a try. Everything is grown and made with love, you can taste this 'Ohana has been doing this a long time and I hope they never stop. So if you're fortunate to stop here, order everything! Lol My go to? Kalua bowl on poi with lomi salmon & chili pepper water and Kūlolo for dessert. YUM!
