If you're an ice cream lover and find yourself craving a late-night treat, this spot is a must-visit! Don't expect to be the only one with the idea, though--there's always a line, and for good reason.
Last night, despite the chilly weather, I bundled up, dragged my daughter out, and headed to our favorite ice cream place , Handel's, not too far from home. I was craving a banana split, and this place never disappoints. The young lady in front of me ordered apple pie in a cup--doesn't that sound amazing? But I stayed true to my craving and went for the classic banana split.
It's easily a pound of ice cream, served the traditional way with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream, topped with pineapple chunks, strawberry chunks, peanuts, whipped cream, and all the classic toppings. For my two-year-old daughter, I kept it simple with a small cup of strawberries, and she loved it.
The selection of flavors is incredible, and the experience is always joyful. Even though it was around 50°F, people were still outside enjoying their ice cream--it was a beautiful sight! I don't know why I was surprised to see a line; there's always a line. After all, who doesn't love ice cream?
If you haven't been yet, you've got to check it out. You won't regret it!
