Beautiful Tours, Modern units, But Disconnected Management. Mark taylor Missed the mark
Beautiful tours, modern units and impressive amenities that's what sold us on Hangar 44. We loved it so much we locked in our unit as soon as it became available and moved in on July 12th.
But from day one, the AC was malfunctioning something Juan from maintenance later confirmed had already been an issue before we even moved in after submitting our first request within the first week.
Repairs weren't scheduled until August 8th, after multiple failed attempts In the meantime, we were left managing a failing unit in the middle of the Arizona summer!!
Let that sink in: No reliable AC. In Arizona. In July.
We were understanding and tried to be patient--we know things break. But what's unacceptable is the lack of accountability and empathy from management throughout the entire process.
Before repairs were even scheduled, I went into the leasing office to speak with someone in person because no one from management had followed up only maintenance had been checking in. I wanted to see if there was anything they could do to make up for the lack of proper air conditioning. Maddi kindly relayed my concerns, as management hadn't made it in yet.
Later, I followed up by phone. Sam took the call but was dismissive. She said they'd "review how many times we called" and get back to us by the end of the day or the next but she never followed up. I went back to the leasing office again after a week and she said they'd now wait for repairs to be completed before deciding anything.
I followed up again today, and was met with the statement:
"Your A/C was only inoperable for a short period of time " short period to me is a week not a month!
Let's be clear. The only reason we had some cooling was because we figured out that we had to shut off the A/C unit when it overheated, otherwise it blew hot air. Our apartment would climb above 80°F, and it would take over two hours to bring the temp back down to 77°F every time.
We were given a portable unit the week repairs got scheduled since it was happening on the daily, but since our apartment faces the freeway, having the window open to vent the unit made sleeping in the bedroom nearly impossible due to all the noise. On top of that, our SRP bill hit $190 for a system that never worked properly.
And while we're on the topic of rent be prepared for an $80 fee if you use a debit card. Our previous complex charged $7.
But this has never just been about the rent credit.
It's about the way management handles problems and treats their residents.
The only people who truly helped were Juan, who was proactive, responsive--even after hours--and Maddi, who tried her best to communicate when no one else would. Juan told us on his first visit that he noticed the AC wasn't kicking properly, confirming that the issue existed before we even moved in.
They put a lot of effort into getting you in with a gorgeous tour and sleek amenities but once you've signed, that effort is nowhere to be found!
I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone expecting basic livability, accountability, or respect.
