3 Best Day Trips from Orlando, Florida | Condé Nast Traveler

"Tables on enclosed, climate-controlled patios overlook the active runway at Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine. But this is not some airport bar. You can come casual or decked out. You'll fit in either way. Brazilian, Spanish German, French, and even Austrian flavors and preparations find their way to the menu. Favorite dishes include a Brazilian-style stroganoff with a tomato cream sauce, roasted rack of lamb with a port wine gastrique and salmon with caper brown butter sauce. Courses land in neat procession in a timely manner, much like the flights on the runway you're overlooking." - Terry Ward, Laura Ratliff

We have lived in the area for several years and have heard good things about this restaurant. We were told it was a bit expensive but when comparing prices to other places in the neighborhood, it is very comparable. We came tonight and the restaurant lived up to its good reputation. We ordered mussels in white wine which were plentiful, plump and in a delicious garlicky winey sauce. (Hint, ask for more toast points to enjoy the broth). For dinner we ordered the potato pancake & beef stew and rabbit poutine (special that night). Both were delicious and I would definitely order again. Spoke to owner Anna and were told about the weekly specials. Tuesday are 1/2 priced appetizers!! (The best deal in the area). Wine Wednesday and 1/2 priced desserts Thursday. If you are looking for a new place to try (or try again), I highly recommend.

I really wanted to enjoy this experience but found it quite underwhelming. Service was slow and also rushed at the same time, not a big deal especially if they were new. The water is served in a beautiful glass container but is obviously unfiltered and tasted horrible. The bread was $8 for a hard tiny piece. My perogies were burnt and basically just mushy mashed potatoes with way too much black pepper inside. 19$ for 7 (I understand they are scratch made but it was disappointing nonetheless.) The burger and fries were pretty great and my dragon fruit marg was decent (after squeezing 3 limes in it myself and waiting 20 minutes for it.) The paper towel holder in the women's bathroom came off the wall and almost hit me right square in my eye...flying ants in the bathroom as well. I stood by the bar for 2 minutes to let them know the bathroom fixture was broken and the person behind the bar just ignored me and walked away. Overall just a really odd dining experience. It's frustrating to spend so much money for so little accomodations. The space is beautiful and well decorated, just needs some boosts in food and friendliness.

Some friends took us here. We live in Jax, and it was a bit of a drive, but totally worth it! The view is quite unique as it is at the airport. We got to watch the coast guard helicopters take off in the dark, which was fun. They had an Argentina Malbec, which was fantastic- no bitter aftertaste at all. I had a seafood pasta, which was absolutely amazing! Everyone raved about their food. Our server was also great. We will definitely be back!

Google
What a hidden gem!! I heard about this place a while back but never got a chance to check it out. We finally did and the food, service and atmosphere were excellent! The restaurant is upstairs but there are elevators if you can't climb or don't want to. They have a beautiful bar and a dining room that overlooks the private planes. Very cool. We started with calamari and pierogies (meat) and they both were delicious. For our entrees we had the seafood paella and the chicken sandwich. 👌 For both! We will be back!

We each enjoyed POLISH POTATO PANCAKE w/BEEF STEW. It was just phenomenal many flavors and textures blended well with the mushrooms and beef!

I dined at this beautiful place a few weeks ago and loved it! Wonderful scenery both inside and out. It's an aiport/restaurant! If you have a chance to sit by a window, you can see the run way of where planes would take off and land. Very exciting! Food was delicious and service was impeccable! It was my boyfriend's birthday and they surprised him with a slice of strawberry cheese cake with a candle lit (complimentary). LOVED IT EVEN MORE! Great for any evening dining or outing. Highly recommend.

Google
Only negative was seen wilted plants hanging or decorating, Sad look, even dead flowers on the table. Service, view and food was great. I had the Crispy Brussels salad and husband and kid had the chicken sandwich. Good portions and great flavor! Calamari great. The apple pie dessert was ok, too much cinnamon I think.

Google
Wonderful date night place that over looks the runway at St Augustine airport. We went for an early Valentine's Day couple group dinner with a party of 12 or six couples. Very unique drink and signature appetizers and meals from your traditional steak to off the beaten path rabbit - which both were delicious by the way. Will definitely visit this place again but disappointed that they had to separate our group into 2 six seater tables but we were close enough to converse across. Regardless it was a great time. Staff was wonderful and very attentive. Why not 5 stars? Rather expensive for 2 people, but then again the ambiance is on the upper scale. Still super cool place.

Yelp
Another awesome visit to the Hanger One Bistro. It seems they've added some Polish recipes to their menu. Tonight I ordered the stuffed cabbage rolls. Holy freaking moly! These are the best cabbage rolls I've ever eaten in my entire life! The stuffing was nice and tender, and the sauce was incredible. Plus these things were enormous. I could only eat half my meal, but you can bet I brought home the rest. Hubby ordered the potato dumplings with beef stew. He said it was good, but he wished there was more stew because the ratio of dumplings to stew was a lot a little off for him. Our server, Pavo, did a great job as well. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves this evening!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went for her birthday, and we were blown away!!! We were sat along the windows with a gorgeous view of the planes and the runway. Our server, Liam, was very kind and helped with selecting our meal choices! He was efficient with removing plates, keeping our table clean, and refilling our water. We started with the bottle of Prosecco and multiple juices. It was a great start to our brunch! We split the crab cakes and the chicken flatbread. WOW, the flatbread was a generous portion! It was packed with flavor in the crushed red pepper pesto and the chicken. Absolutely fantastic! The crab cakes were also delicious and we loved the flavor! This was the perfect first experience At Hangar and we will absolutely be back for a double date with our husbands!

Yelp
This place was very cute. Overlooking the St. Augustine airport runway, we thought it would be fun to see planes taking off and landing as we ate dinner. The menu had a nice variety with appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, airport-themed cocktails, and desserts. We started with the charcuterie board which was very nicely laid out. In addition to cheeses and meats, they had nuts, bread, and a fresh and dried fruit. One thing I noticed was that all the cheeses were hard. It would've been nice to have had a soft cheese to spread on the bread. Also, the walnuts tasted burnt. Our entrees were great. The steak sandwich had very tender, thinly sliced steak that was seasoned, and the appetizer salad had a sizable portion of salmon with three shrimp. The kids chicken tenders and fries was a large serving and very reasonably priced. Service here was good and the view was excellent. We sat in the back room and our toddler thoroughly enjoyed looking at the planes.

Yelp
Food is atrocious they offer polish food Which I like such as pork snitzel and I ordered it when it came out it was burned and disgusting with cafeteria style mashed potatoes and a cucumber dill salad that was awful so I went to I think is the manager and I asked him if he is polish and he said yes I said to him does this look like polish snitzel to you He said definitely not and showed me a picture he had on his phone and said this is polish snitzel and agreed he had problems with the chef as well the food here is not good and it shows I was in a week before for first time and I liked the place and I ate the grouper and it was not good I told the bartender a very nice woman that I would come back and try it again and give them another chance and I asked her about the snitzel and she said it was good but it was far from good Needless to say I will never go back there It's too bad the place is nice and clean but the chef is not a chef and not even a cook

Yelp
New Year's Eve dinner. Had reservations for four. Started with a couple of drinks. For dinner my wife ordered their short ribs great taste have leftovers. I had the pierogies also excellent. Two shared a salad and the steak skillet on the appetizer menu. Lots of yummy food. Only negative- got seated in the bar- no views other than the backside of folks at the bar. Made reservations two months ago- do they have a request area to ask for window seating? No problem with parking- excellent service and food.
google avatar

Betsy C.

Yelp
We happened upon this place in a last minute decision not to eat leftovers again. What a delight! The service was excellent! The old fashioned was the best my husband has had in 5 years. The food- we ordered the potato dumplings and pasta de fritte (seafood pasta...whatever it was called ) and it was SO GOOD! Highly recommend this place!!!!!

Yelp
We ate here for the first time after living close by since its opening, and I'm so sad we haven't tried it sooner! The atmosphere is very cute and made for a great date night. We sat right next to a window where we got a perfect view of planes boarding. My husband and I started with the potato and cheese pierogis. You get six in one order and they're huge! A little softer than what we're used to (my in-laws homemake pierogis for holidays - perfection) but the flavor was good and they were very filling. We then split the rabbit pappardelle - yum! This dish was massive even after we had it split into two bowls, so it was well worth the $35 price. I couldn't finish mine, as much as I wanted to. The flavors themselves didn't blow me away, but it was a solid dinner and I have no complaints. We ended with the creme brûlée with we thought had bananas in it, but it was tonka beans. Delish! Personally, I felt this one was slightly overpriced, but maybe the tonka beans made it more expensive. Not a bad dessert at all, just a lot of money ($12) for a small-ish dessert. Finally, we enjoyed our drinks very much. I just stuck with the happy hour Cabernet, but my husband tried two happy hour mixed drinks (can't remember exactly what they were, but I want to say a rum drink and then a margarita). He thoroughly enjoyed both and liked that their happy hour stretched to 7 p.m. All in all, the food was 4/5 and the atmosphere was 5/5. We will definitely be going back very soon!

Yelp
Well, we went there for Mother's Day. And despite the difficult and limited parking, the physical plant was good, except for a "weird" sound on the elevator. Clean and nice with an expansive view of the tarmac, we had been here before. It was BAD this time....eww! ALL the food was left uneaten by our five. The busboy was great. The waiter was not. The manager disheveled and bitter. Never eating there again. Sorry.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and had a great dinner here! The food was delicious and it's cool to get a view of the planes on the runway. * I shared the parmesan oysters to start. Anything with cheese is tasty, and I liked the tomato sauce it came with. * The meat in the hangar one jet burger is great quality - very tender and juicy. FYI, this is a big burger! it comes with lots of fries too. * I had some of the crawfish & shrimp sliders (they're more like bruschetta not mini burgers). not my favourite but I'm also not a fan of crawfish * The ghost flower cocktail was delicious and not too sweet. asked for less alcohol and loved it! Would come back to try the rabbit pappardelle which sounds yummy and I heard it's good. Overall had a good experience here

Yelp
The food is amzingly good. Our service is always spoton but not pushy. The ambiance of watching the planes go in and out and people coming in is fun. Getting to meet other guests is so much fun. Hidden gem that is never too crowded. Great bar also.

Yelp
Top notch food, service, and views of airplanes. Very tasteful decor. Excellent options on food, drink, and dessert menus. Loved the Polish pierogi, pork cutlet, and cabbage rolls. Everything was fantastic!

Yelp
Went in a rainy Sunday and when we arrived we entered in the first floor and took the elevator upstairs to this lovely aviation styled bistro. We were a little early for our reservation so sat at the bar with a friendly Pawvo. I had a dirty martini w/blue cheese olives it was perfect. Hubby had an old fashioned which also god. We were seated by a window so we could see the planes coming in going as the runway was right in front of the floor to ceiling window. All the apps sounds so good so we went with several of those. We had 6 parmesan oyster and the bread which had a lovely flavors butter and dipping spices. Enjoyed them but would have liked some hot sauce in them. We had the steak skillet which came with bread and lovely spreads. We shared an avocado salad which was tangy and delightful. Our server Donna was kind and attentive. Had an amazing time and will return.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Service at the bar with Jaime was outstanding. Started with the charcuterie and cheese pierogi. Pierogis are homemade from the chef mother's recipe. There are several polish items on the menu that I can't wait to try. My husband had the beet salad and it was fresh and delicious. I had the burger and it was cooked to perfection probably the best burger I have had in a long time. This is a hidden gem. The best is you also get the view of planes coming in and out.

Yelp
A fun & unique experience - dining at an airport! What we had for brunch: Belgian Waffles with berries & peanut butter, Steak Tacos, Chorizo Hoagie, Smoked Ham Sandwich, Yuca Fries, Bottomless Mimosas, Smoked Old FashionedMen
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
This is truly a unique atmosphere as the restaurant overlooks the airport in St Augustine. Our party ordered the short ribs, the duck, and the salmon. The portions were large and the taste was good.

Yelp
We had been talking about going to Hangar One Bistro for months and finally on Sunday we made it! I am not sure what I was expecting but my expectations were definitely exceeded. From the moment we walked in through out our whole experience I had a smile on my face. We walked into the lobby where you could choose to either take the elevator or the stairs we chose the stairs because we knew we would be eating enough that we would need to get a little bit more exercise prior to going into the restaurant itself. Both the lobby and the staircase were decorated very tastefully and it looked like the decor may have been new. At the top of the stairs there was a small glass passageway that lead to the restaurant. The restaurant was decorated in such a way that you knew you were at an airport without shoving it in your face. At the time we showed up all of the window seats were taken so we set a bit inside however we still got a great view. There wasn't a huge menu but there was a lot of things that looked good to me. I could not decide between two things so I ordered the Spiced Apple Pancakes for the table. Ordering the pancakes for the table was the best decision I made, as we all enjoyed every single bite. The apples in the pancake were evenly distributed so you got some good flavor in every bite. For my meal I ordered the Eggs Florentine, it was delicious! I love mushrooms so I was happy to see that there were a good about of mushrooms on the dish. Everything was great but my favorite part was the bottomless sangria/mimosas. It was nice that you could switch between sangria and mimosa. I stuck with sangria as I didn't want to drink too much but the others I was with switched between the two and said both were very good. The service was also excellent, our glasses were constantly being filled! I am very excited to go back soon!

Yelp
They were awesome! Micro wedding dinner for 16. Food came out promptly and everything was delicious! Wait staff were fantastic. I HIGHLY reccomend them.

Yelp
First time at Hangar One and was a long time coming. We arrived around 11:00AM Sunday for Brunch. Once inside we checked in with the hostess. She asked if we had a reservation and we did not, oops. That wasn't a problem because they had plenty of tables but she did tell u they didn't have any more window seats, basically seats that overlooked at airport/runway. So if that's want you're looking for make sure to make that reservation. Once seated our waiter quickly came up and introduced himself and brought us water and menus. We knew they had bottomless mimosa's but didn't know that apart of that you could also get Sangrias and at $14 to switch back and forth you gotta do it. I will say I wasn't a huge fan of the Sangria though. I will say the reason for this though was because it tasted more like red wine the the grape juice Sangria I like. So if you actually like red wine you will probably like this. Again no problem for me I just went to the mimosas and our waiter kept them coming. I will say they have some interesting options for the brunch entrees. I was between the Hangar One Jet Burger and the Shrimp & Crawfish Roll. I asked our waiter for what he though and he said they both are good but burgers are everywhere. He had a point because I can't tell you like time I saw a Shrimp & Crawfish Roll on another menu. So I went with the Shrimp & Crawfish which was Cooked to perfection poached royal red shrimp and crawfish, homemade chive mayonnaise, sweet corn, red bell pepper, lemon oil in a hot dog potato bun. Once our food came I will say the roll did seem a little on the smaller side. It was good and somewhat rich but nothing really to write home about and didn't seem to be on a potato bun either. The fries were also not great. They could have been cooked longer and didn't have a lot of flavor. For sure needed ketchup. All and all the service was very good at least a 4 but my food was for sure a 3 at best. If 3.5 was an option that's what Hangar One would be for me but when the waiter keeps the mimosas coming that's the way to my heart.

Yelp
I am sorry but I can't agree with the other reviews. The atmosphere is nice and they seated us by a window but the window was damaged or old and you could not see through it. The service was ok, not super friendly. The food was just ok. My husband had a seafood chowder to start and it was a huge bowl but it was so so and for a $14 bowl of soup you'd expect better. I had a Caesar salad that was NOT a Caesar salad! It was some lettuce and Parmesan with some odd dressing on the bottom of the bowl. Our entrees were blah. My husband had grouper on a bed of mushroom risotto. The risotto was tasteless and so was the fish. Again, for a $38 dollar entree you'd expect better. I had the hangar steak which was ok. I really wanted to like this place because being at an airstrip it is nice to watch the planes etc. we will not be going back because it was sooo disappointing.

Yelp
This was a cute, hidden spot in the aviation plaza. It is quiet and spacious. Covid 19 rules are in full effect; masks on, temperature checks, spaced out tables, and hand sanitizers all around. There weren't too many options on the menu but we enjoyed the meal. The ribeye was moist and juicy paired with mashed potatoes. And the venison pasta was super meaty but it was good to me, first time trying it. Good place to dine. Even better if you can catch a helicopter ride then dine for sunset.

Yelp
So my first time here was when they first opened up. This visit was a bit different because we stopped here for an impromptu nightcap before we headed home to resume parental duties. We arrived to their location later than dinner service, which was fine, since we had already eaten. We walked in, went to the bar and were greeted by a warm, nice, and cheerful bartender with a fedora (sorry, I didn't catch his name, but he was lovely). We all ordered our respective drinks. Can you guess what I ordered? Yup, you're correct: one lemon drop martini with a sugar rim. Now if you remember my previous drink here, it was a little shaky, but I'm all for second chances. After everyone (minus me) getting their drinks (the bartender said he'd bring the drink over to our table), we decided to sit at a table, so we could see the planes roll in and out. We were immediately greeted by a waiter (the same waiter who waited on us the first time) and he stopped by multiple times to get us, even though we were just having drinks. The bartender brought over my lemon drop martini and folks, they've redeemed themselves. Now I can't speak to the food this go-round because we didn't order food, but between service and the bartender's attention to detail, they are currently a five out of five in my book. The lemon drop was full equipped with a sugar rim, a garnish, and the best part? The taste: sweet, sour, and just plain delicious. Pros: -Bar service, was fantastic -Taste of the lemon drop was on point -Views are pretty great -Space is updated, modern, and unique Cons: -Prices are steep, but if you come here for happy hour they have pretty good deals Tips: Try them during their happy hour

Yelp
I rarely give bad review. Well, I have one for 2023 in the dumpster .... Food is over priced and it wasn't special. Place: no big deal Service: poor

Yelp
Great ambiance overlooking St Augustine airport. Food was very good and server was very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I have always really loved eating here. I'm an avid airplane enthusiast and the food is always good. That being said, I just now got my cheeseburger after being here for an hour and 10 minutes. Turns out our orders got lost in the kitchen. When we finally got them mine was wrong. The waiter offered to take it back but I asked him to let me just eat it at the risk of waiting another hour. This may seem petty but it's been 5 mins and still waiting for ketchup for my fries. I still gave 3 stars to be fair because I know it's difficult to find staff these days.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
If you haven't been here for the view of the airport you've got to try their drinks. Presentation alone was awesome. Bar staff was awesome but the drinks....... they were out of this world. No pun intended being on the airport runway. Next time we're eating here, food looked amazing. Very clean establishment. Definite 5 stars in my book.

Yelp
Driven past this place many times and my wife would always say we should go there. Her step father used to fly his plane to this airport just to get the burger. First off, great view of the airport from all the seats. Our server, TJ, was very good. He really made the experience great with his service and suggestions. My wife liked the sangria and I went with a cold draft of beer. We went with the shrimp and crawfish roll and the burger. The roll was good, very fresh and you can really taste the corn and red bell pepper in the mix. The burger, was good as well. Cooked a perfect medium rare. What rounded out the burger, the garlic aioli, just a nice hint of garlic. Fries were also very good, seasoned well with salt and pepper. Will definitely be going back.

Yelp
This is my second time dining here, my first was for brunch with friends in January and we had an awesome experience. This time, I made reservations and six of us went to dinner to celebrate my mom & aunt's birthday (twins!). Service was slow, but I totally get that and definitely am not digging them on that, as the restaurant was pretty busy. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was HOT, which was kind of a bummer, but I get not all places chill their reds and our server did give us a wine bucket with some ice to cool slightly. I ordered the shrimp pasta and I personally would not get it again. It had a weird taste that I couldn't figure out what it was, but ai tasted my mom's fries and a slice of burger and it was great! We also got dessert and split it- the berry option was delicious. All in all, I would definitely return, but only for an early lunch and would skip the bottled wine and stick with beer or maybe try a mixed cocktail.

Yelp
We thought we had discovered a special gem in Hangar One. But our late January 2024 birthday dinner with niece and nephew was altogether disappointing, save the bar service from Pavl. My scallops, which I had pointedly requested be prepared medium rare, were overdone, and the replacements were the same. This week, I am happy to report, things seem back on an even keel. (No scallops on the menu, perhaps fortunately.) My husband LOVES the veal as it's reminiscent of many beloved German restaurants in Chicago back in the day. We now know to request more gravy as it was a bit skimpy, but the spaetzle was SUPER. I won't be hesitant to return next time.

Yelp
It was a very nice experience and dinner my husband and I had last night, Cody was our server very knowledgeable and professional The food was very good my filet mignon was cooked perfect and my husband had the veal Snitzel it was very good also Smack to sit by the window so you can really enjoy watching all the planes and crew running around!

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance. Great views. Will return.....,see my review .........,,................ Pleasantly surprised

Yelp
So here's the thing, I liked the food. My wife did too. Service was good, and I thought the space and view were nice too. My only complaint was this smell that I got of mildew while eating. It wasn't constant, but I got it multiple times wafting in the air. I don't know where it was coming from (probably a dirty rag) but it was really off putting. The food was good though. Scallops, the bistro burger and an appetizer of Brie wheel and crackers. The cheese was fried instead of baked though and wasn't sufficiently melted though. I'd go back for the burger, but I'd probably do takeout.
google avatar

Kathy H.

Yelp
Finally made it for brunch. The place is beautiful. Fun overlooking the airport. Probably really pretty at night. We were traveling so couldn't try the delicious-sounding cocktails, so we have to go back! My husband had the shrimp & crawfish roll ($17.00)on a toasted hot dog bun. It could have been better on a more interesting roll, but he liked the filling. Fries were delicious. I had a giant omelet ($12.00). It looked amazing, but was so salty I couldn't eat it. The home fries were so good. Very friendly & attentive server. We'll give it another try.

Yelp
I have been wanting to go here for awhile due the the ambiance on the airport, however was let down by the experience. Let me start out by saying the staff was nice and prompt throughout the meal. The food on the other hand was so terrible I wouldn't feed it to a stray dog. I order the surf and turf, presentation was okay but the shrimp tasted like rubber or old. The steak was probably the only thing I ate. When the price tag is 51 dollars I would except better quality for the shrimp and steak. My family got the pork chop which was dry and definitely over cooked. She also got mashed potatoes that were DRY and FLAVORLESS tasting like the came out of a box!!!! 12 dollars for the mashed potatoes. For a meal of two we spent 130 and it's was like taking all the money and flushing in down the toilet.

Yelp
Great food and coolest view of the St. Augustine airport and intracoastal waterway. Dinner with a show watching planes take off and land while ships pass by towards the ocean. The atmosphere is cool and the staff is super friendly. Shout out to the management who took care of us for our anniversary dinner. We are glad we found our new favorite place to eat in St. Augustine.

Yelp
Went here for brunch Sunday. Interesting location very nice style. The hostess was not the most welcoming person in fact asked do you have reservations? When we answered no she gave a look of "oh well". A nice gentleman came up and took us to a table. Tim our waiter was very nice and informative explaining specials and menu. Luis, the mixologist, is the bomb! The porn star martini was perfect, as was the espresso martini. The eggs florentine was delicious, the portobello mushroom and touch of curry in the hollandaise was a very nice touch. My husband had shrimp and crawfish roll which was also really good flavors. I would definitely go again but make reservations for a view of the runway.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. For my pilot friends out there, this is literally a $100 hamburger. Look at the menu before you make the flight. The standard bar fair is very limited. They are not cheap. Unfortunately, the view of the runway is very limited. If you are looking to watch take off and landings, you won't see much. You mainly look at the ramp of one of the local FBO's. Sorry for all the pilot speak to the non-aviators reading this.

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal here. The food wasn't exceptional, but enjoyment is what I rate restaurants on, so I give it four stars. We were there on Mother's Day, and the menu was mostly brunch. I had the blue crab frittata, $16, which was decent but not something I see any reason to order again. We both liked my companion's dinner entree more: veal schnitzel ($28), and I might order it if I come again. It's breaded veal with a brown sauce over spatzle: what's not to like? It's comfort food for someone like me that likes that kind of thing. Our desserts were a pretty ordinary apple pie ($11) and a pretty good chocolate hazelnut mousse, which was thick like fudge ($12). I'd consider ordering the latter again. I only saw one plane take off and none land, which was a bit of a disappointment, but I did see helicopters take off and land. My companion had the better view, but I looked around plenty and she didn't tell me I was missing anything. Still, it was fun for what I did see, including what looked like a big private jet taxiing to takeoff, a biplane, and two helicopters. The main room of the restaurant doesn't have a view of the runways, but it was rather attractive and upscale, and seemed quieter. We were in one of the two rooms that have a view of the airport, and it was far too loud (and would be even without the speakers blaring music, though they should get rid of the music): it somewhat impeded conversation. Our server was excellent, though there was a bit of a wait before we got our check. I noticed that they had a notable selection of dessert drinks, like port, sherry, and Tokaji, which tempted me. We had fun, so I may visit again.

Yelp
The cocktail was good. The food was not good at all. Folks at our table are the main part of the main course, but they did not touch the risotto and etc. Not recommended.

Yelp
The quality of the food and the service are always a step above most places in our area. Great view, exceptional food and outstanding service.

Yelp
I couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was terrible. I had the waffles. They were exactly like the round frozen waffles, and they were hard. My partner had Shrimp and Chorizo. The four shrimp were good, but everything else tasted like nothing, like the beans right out of a can. They served it with burnt (black) toast, and they turned them upside down so you wouldn't notice it when served. It was just so terrible, we laughed, paid, and left.

Yelp
We really lucked out when we chose Hangar One Bistro. We had made a last minute switch to our dinner reservation, and chose Hanagar One base on the photos of the food. The service was great, and we all loves our food, which was presented beautifully. We enjoyed the Veal Schnitzel, Braised Rabbit Papperdelle, and the Spring Chicken (my meal).

Yelp
It was interesting walking through the doors and having to either walk up the stairs or take an elevator but come to a hallway of glass all around and seeing all the planes. It was a nice place, the food looked amazing and tasted pretty good but it's more for the experience I think. Definitely a nice place to go on a date. For my husband and I, it was a fun experience seeing a few planes come in but probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Wow! Great view, delicious food, friendly service, and the owner or manager came by each table to see how everything was and thank folks for coming in. We enjoyed watching airplanes arrive, unload people, and take back off. Can't wait to be back next weekend!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Nice location overlooking the airport ramp. I didn't try the cocktails (I was piloting afterwards) but it looks like a pretty comprehensive bar. We had the chorizo and shrimp skillet and brussel sprout salad, both really good.
