Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & Wings

Confused by the many glowing 5-star reviews. This place is a ok/middling spot with cafeteria-style chairs in a mini-strip mall. Not comparable to the top chicken spots in the city. Chicken tenders did not seem to have the breading shown in the menu-screen photos. They were fine. Not overly dry. Ordered medium heat and it felt exactly medium. Comparative to a good fast food spot in terms of decent. The place was clean (but why do so many reviews mention how clean the place is?), but also I was the only single person in there from the peak lunch hour noon to 1p, so not a lot of opportunity to be messed up.

Ordered for delivery, one of the better hot chicken sandwiches in chicago. I was pleasantly surprised to see a chain location serving such high-quality chicken. The portion size is massive. 5/5 recommend.

The only good thing here was that the chicken was juicy. I got the hottest spice level, “Angry Hot,” and didn’t feel anything at all—super disappointing. The mac and cheese had a weird flavor that just wasn’t good, and the cider slaw was bland. The place itself looks really cool, but the food doesn’t match the vibe at all. Service was ok , not the worst but could be a little more friendly. It was 43$ for a sandal chicken sandwich ,slaw , Mac and cheese and 2 tenders

I love this location the food is always hot and fresh very good flavor wings I tried almost all the flavors highly recommend they are so polite and kind great customer service !

I’ve been on the hunt for the best chicken sandwich in Chicago and I think I may have found a top contender. The chicken sando here was cooked perfectly, and tasted so delicious. I also tried the loaded Mac and cheese and it was just as delicious. The best thing about this location is that it is halal, and the staff is very friendly. The owner personally greeted me and made sure my order was as good as I expected. The Mango boba with lychee might have been the best bubble tea drink I’ve ever tried….

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't get enough of it. I highly recommend trying the spicy chicken—it’s packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. Definitely a must-try for anyone who loves bold, tasty dishes. Will be coming back for sure!

The portions are great, mild dry rub wings were tasty and had a bit of a kick. The Spicy Smoke BBq was my favorite, it reminded me of a korean-style bbq sauce rather than an American style bbq. They are generous with the portions of fries here. The wings vary in size, some of the drumsticks are massive. The hangry Joe's sauce goes well with the fries. Cole slaw was refreshing and paired well with the wings.

From start to finish Jackie, the cashier, made the experience great. The food was well seasoned, and the fries were nice and crisp. Would go back again to try their chicken waffle!
