Beautiful and clean island, great water with white sand. Many local restaurants with very friendly staff and good food. The people on the streets are friendly.

Hanimaadhoo island is one the biggest islands in Maldives. Its length is approximately 7 km! And it is ‘just’ 750 m wide. On one of the sides of this wonderful island a white beach is located, which is ideal for snorkeling, diving, and kayaking. In fact, the whole side is one beautiful beach. Great, isn’t it? On one side where a lagoon with a stunning home reef is located. The underwater world there can boast of a great variety of species. The other side of the island is scattered with pieces of corals and shells. The edge of the reef is situated there, that’s why you should be careful when walking there, because you can hurt yourself. The only minus of this Maldivian paradise is a distance to Male. It’s approximately 300 km. So the only type of transfer available there is a domestic flight. But this remoteness can be made up for by the island’s nature, true solitude, and magnificent views.

I recently visited Hanimaadhoo Island in Haa Alifu Atoll and it was an incredible experience. The island itself charming, with crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. The locals were all very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation on the island was top-notch, with resort options as well as more budget-friendly guesthouses. I stayed in a guesthouse and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and clean it was. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Hanimaadhoo Island. It's a beautiful and peaceful place that is perfect for a relaxing beach vacation.

Island easily accessible by plane. Has a small village with few restaurants (hard to find) and a famous eco resort with lovely villas on the beach, good food and plenty activities on offer daily: snorkelling, diving, kayaking, SUP, windsurfing ...
