Hanji Gifts is an absolute gem if you’re into all things cute, creative, and beautifully designed. This charming shop is packed with Korean-inspired treasures - from unique giftware and whimsical stationery to gorgeous wrapping paper, craft supplies, accessories, and thoughtful cards. While most of their pieces are imported from South Korea, they also carry a lovely selection of handmade items crafted right here in Toronto. It’s a great blend of global and local. You could easily lose track of time exploring every shelf - there’s just so much to discover. Whether you’re hunting for a gift or treating yourself, this spot is a one-stop shop for something truly special.

The cutest stationery shop with so many items!! It's small which can make it difficult when it's busy, but it's not a big deal. There are cute $1 mystery bags of paper scraps for scrapbooking which I thought was so unique and a great way to reduce waste!

Staff is really kind and helpful! I took a long time choosing Korean ceramic mug and she came and recommended the perfect one for my friend's parents. I told her I am traveling with this mug so she even wrapped it with bubble wrap 🥹 I am impressed her wrapping skills and artistic sense! And I also got September calendar for service! 🎁 Thanks!🫶

A variety of things - can’t specify a category but for sure, covers I would say all types of people you are thinking to get a gift for. A bit towards the pricier side but probably due to the craft involved. Beautiful collection of miniatures and amazing 3D cards. They even have a few off the eco friendly products.

I’ve been to all three Hanji’s, and they’re all great. My family loves going to them and we always get home with tons of stuff. This one seems to need the most work though, to be honest. It’s not as well organized as their Beach location, despite having a bigger space. And it’s not as clean looking as their nice new Bloor one. In my personal experience as well, the staff at this location are more anti social as well. I said hi to them when walking past the cash and was met with silence and looks that implied I’m crazy lol. Whenever I’m at the beach location, I always have a full conservation with the workers! At Bloor they’ll at least say hi back. It’s a good store overall, just kind of the weakest of the three it seems.

Beautiful stationary store! Plenty of cards for various occasions as labeled in the store. Lots of stickers and washi tape. Must visit if you're into stationary! They have incense and adorable incense holders which are great gifts! They also have some Korean skincare products, Korean ceramics, Korean hand drawn fans, Korean pearl jewelry boxes and mirrors, beautiful hanji, etc. I loved that their mystery scrap paper bags are hand drawn, so cute! We got one of the mystery bags that are wrapped and ended with some cute stickers and a notebook. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Yelp
I'm the contractor who built the entire storefront you see at Hanji Gift at 645 Bloor. I paid for every nail, every piece of material, and every worker who showed up. I believed in professionalism and trusted this business to honour their word. But after completing the job, I wasn't paid a single cent. When I asked for what I was owed, they didn't negotiate they called the police on me. They told the officers I was harassing them. They spun a false story that a "general contractor" was responsible for payment yet that person showed me proof that he wasn't paid either. That means the entire storefront of this location was built off the backs of hardworking people who were never compensated. I've been left financially and emotionally drained. I followed the law. I showed up. I gave them everything. And they turned their backs on me. Now I'm legally forbidden from contacting them, and I will respect that. Please just keep in mind if you're supporting this business, please understand what you are truly supporting. This is not just about money this is about dignity, trust, and the value of labour. Please don't reward a place built on injustice and lies.

Yelp
Hanji Paper & Gifts located at Queen St. W. and Shaw is the place to head to if you are looking for unique cards and paper products not found anywhere else. The small shop has a variety of stationary, cards and unique gifts (candles, incense, chopstick holders, scarves, jewelry) for everyone. I've been coming to Hanji for a long time and never fail to find something I like there - whether it be for a birthday or anniversary. Overall, cute store, definitely to check it out if you're around the area!

Yelp
Super cute stationary store with a ton of Asian products!! My friend and i meant to walk past this store but got drawn in by the adorable window display. It's a pretty small store but it's crammed full of cute odds and ends. There were tea sets, the most gorgeous 3D popup cards, and really cute prints/postcards, among other things. A good place to spend some time picking out stationary and room decor!

Yelp
This is a neat store with a lot of interesting gift cards and wrapping papers etc. I had a bit of exposure to this particular style of items on my prior trips to the far east. Hmm don't know what else to add here give the pics of items they offer and if they intrigue you visit either of their location and you will surely end up with a memorable item.

Yelp
It makes me sad that less and less people give 'real' cards these days. Hanji has a huge selection of beautiful cards for every occasion and it reminds you why sometimes a FB "HBD" shoutout just doesn't cut it. In addition to cards, you can find items here for your own DIY projects like patterned tape, fancy paper, stickers, etc. They also have really pretty notebooks, agendas, and desk calendars, as well as Korean gift items like coin purses, lacquered boxes, and chopsticks. Finally, last time I was there they had some lovely winter scarves, which was unexpected. Overall, a great place to shop for gift items or something to beautify your desk/home office.

Yelp
What a beautiful store!! Sells artisan cards and paper, but they are soooooooooooo beautiful. And this is coming from me, some fobby girl who's seen this all her life (because her aunts buys these things all the time). The goods they sell are elegant and lovely, very sophisticated. Papers and accessories from Korea and Japan, such as bookmarks, notebooks, cards, 3-D cards, stamps, stickers. Some of these (bookmarks and stickers) are expensive, but the cards are reasonable. The cards are about the same price as Papyrus' cards (a favourite shop of mine! tehe)

Yelp
Looking for something out of the ordinary for my friend's birthday. Something unusual, but high quality, elegant and will make the receiver of the gift feel spoiled. For a very small price and very easily online, I was able to order some a beautiful cherry blossom card, a notebook and stationary that were wrapped in gorgeous decorative paper and satin ribbon. Not only was I completely satisfied by the online selection and ease of using the website, but the Catherine checked in with me on email to ensure all the details about my order were perfect, and then sent it off right away with a hand written note, a little something extra in the package and a sweet message of thanks on the delivery envelope. Honestly, Hanji Paper & Gifts is a priceless treasure, in a time like a pandemic, it is all about the small thoughtful touches and deep creative skill that keep our spirits afloat. Thank you Catherine and Hanji, being your customer is a great experience :)

Yelp
I received my order of beautiful items very promptly and it was packaged with care. The items that I ordered are lovely and of great quality. I will be ordering again and hopefully visiting the store in the future. I definitely recommend Hanji Gifts for great items from a business that adds a sweet personal touch.

Yelp
I could spend hours at this store browsing through their beautiful stationary. Im slightly obsessed with their cards. They have a wide selection of Japanese paper, stamps, pens, tea cups and notebooks. Great place to shop when you are looking for a gift.

Yelp
I have dreaded reviewing this place because I want it all to myself! I stumbled across this little gem while waiting for dinner plans about a year and it is amazing. They have cards and papers and other random goodies that serve your needs. I recent made another trek down here for a wedding card because it is definitely worth it! Store: According to the staff this is their larger location and they have more room to display their cards. They have another one in Koreatown I think but they said that the cards are not fully on display due of space, but they stock the same products. Staff: So friendly and amazing! Always willing to help out and offer suggestions. Definitely doesn't feel like they're trying to make a sale, they honestly just like helping out and being friendly. Products: Amazing!! The pop-up cards are probably their most well known products but they have many other cards available too. They also have lots of paper, and stationery products. The cards are pretty well priced if you compare them to Hallmark or Papyrus and it definitely gives a great wow factor. A million thumbs up!

Yelp
The second location of Hanji is just as lovely as the original gangsta in Koreatown. I was in here recently looking for boxes of thank you cards. Alas, they didn't have what I was looking for, but I should have known better. Hanji is all about beautiful one offs and delicious DIY goods, not about mass produced products. Even though they didn't have what I was after, I still took the time to get lost in their little second location. I was gently guided by their super friendly staff through delicate and awesome things piled on top of each other. I'm especially fond of their pop up cards. So cute!

Yelp
Excellent place place for you any day "paper" needs. Only 3 star because for some strange reason the sales clerk was not pleased to see me. Every store along Ossington and Queen I visited was nice to me what the heck happened here? Over $40 on credit card should I have paid cash? Everyone don't be upset with my experience just have a look at this gem. There aren't many places like this out there and your customer service will very as did mine. Your there for the products.

Yelp
Wonderful shop full of incredible little trinkets, beautiful cards, amazing stationary, neat umbrellas and tea sets. Always a new delight to find! I just wish they had more seasonal items: Halloween, Xmas, easter etc. Bc I'm greedy for more of this highly curated and excellent quality products!

Yelp
While I was in Toronto last week I stumbled across Hanji and immediately fell in love. It is the exact kind of shop that a paper lover would adore - and I am definitely a paper lover! Their cards are absolutely stunning - both the pop up ones and the non-pop up variety are crafted with a lot of love and skill. It was really difficult not to walk out with half of the store, but I managed to hold myself to one card for a friend's wedding.

Yelp
Located at the corner of Shaw and Queen W, this unique import paper store gives character to a cluster of businesses that have had their existence threatened by reconstruction of the building they're in. Still, they've held strong and their one of a kind offerings seem to fit in well with the boutique style shops that dot the landscape in this Queen West neighborhood. Paper products are kind of a relic of the past and have had their market change from mainstream to niche, however stores like this show that these products have experienced a reinvention and through that a renaissance in popularity, this uniqueness is what makes a store like this so easy to appreciate. While wishes for a birthday in the office can be taken care of with a card from Shoppers, for those other occasions a store like this is just what the situation calls for. The majority of the products are from Korea or Japan I believe, and the quality is amazing. I had a friend who'd taken care of another friends dog so they could visit me and needed a way to say thanks, so a pop up 3D outline card of a bike (I bike everywhere) dos the trick. Notebooks, cards, planners, sketch books and large sheets of paper and wrapping paper and anything that can be made of paper to give as a gift can be found here. Prices are what you'd expect (the bike card was $7) and service is polite and staff is fairly attentive. Worth the trip!

Yelp
I always go to the Queen Hanji for all my cards since I live in the neighbourhood and they make an great impression to whomever I give them to. Usually when I go in, the girls working there are always so nice and positive, always greeting me with a smile. However, yesterday I went in after work to check out their new Christmas cards. The girl at the counter greeted me with a smile, asked me how I was doing, and told me to take my time and reassured me that she was there to help if I needed it, like she always has. I was looking at the cards and there were 3 other people in the back of the store talking, 2 girls and a guy. The guy must be a new employee because I have never seen him there before and he wasn't wearing a coat. He was talking to the girls about how he hates Toronto. I don't know if he was having a bad day, or if he was just trying to relate to the girls, but I did not appriciate overhearing that as a born and bread Torontonian myself. I would suggest going in anytime the girls are working. They are always so positive and helpful and make the atmosphere calm and welcoming. Their cards are beautiful and I will continue to get mine from there. I wanted to write this in case other people have had a similar experience and they were turned off. Don't be. It's a cool little place that is usually really great.
