"Are you looking for a nice place by the water? Take a seat outside at one of the picknick tables at Hanneke’s Boom. You can enjoying the sun with a drink and some friends, by the water and watch boats pass by. It is a big place, so also convenient for larger groups. Great for some afternoon drinks. The staff could be a bit more friendly but once you are outside, the view is very forgiving." - Resoluut

"Hannekes Boom: Drinks with an IJ View Amazing brew and an even better view—what's not to love about Hannekes Boom, a relaxing beer garden in the revitalized neighborhood surrounding Amsterdam's Central Station? In addition to drinks and hearty nachos, sandwiches, and burgers (all made with organic ingredients), this place offers stunning vistas of the city and of Nemo (the interactive science museum that resembles a green whale). Pull up a barstool, grab a terrace bench, or plunk down on the dock to dangle your toes in the water while watching small boats bob past."

Cute place to hang out after a visit to Nemo or if you are in the neighborhood. Perhaps there is nightlife? The bar looks well stocked. We had burgers, fries, and nachos. Pretty much your basic bar fare. Actually, sorry but we were quite disappointed with the nachos. Normally the 4 kids make short work of these but they remained hardly touched. Chips were from AH and the toppings were minimal. Apologies to dwell on the nachos. Perhaps other things are nice on the menu? Sitting by the fire was heel Gezellig! Go for tea and a chat with your friend and enjoy a view of the water.

Delicious food & coffee , cosy atmosphere and the view❤️

Google
My favourite place for many many years to crash...finally time to give you a nice review! I like the idea to order via QR code.. amazing! My first lunch here, usually only the dinners and beers with sunset!

Google
Fabulous place to spend a few hours. The location is beautiful the staff and food was outstanding. Highly recommend

Google
Nice vibe in this bar/pub whatever it is. Prices are on average. It is close to the Nemo which makes it quite in a central area of Amsterdam. It has a lot of space, especially outside with lots of tables. Inside it’s cosy. Staff is kind. Food is not great but somewhat decent. You can order through the QR code on the tables and you can do the payments online. They play music on Friday night so it gets busy and has a nice vibe.

Google
good for a quick bite. a bit overwhelmingly busy and not the friendliest staff. the food was pretty good although a bit pricey for what it is.

Google
Nice location and vibe, arrived by boat and moored up to their dock. Plenty of seating available inside and out plus a good range of drinks. I tried bitterballen for the first time here and what an excitement for the senses. Will certainly be tasting more on my visits around NL. Limited vegan options on the menu, and some silly rules about not being able to order fries unless with a main, of which there wasn’t a vegan main option. Staff weren’t friendly or helpful regarding this. Can imagine that it would be a wicked spot in the summertime with ample outdoor seating.

Had an informal dinner with my friend here. Started with nachos, really big dish with enough of everything. After that had the Diamanthaas (steak) (perfectly medium) which came with a cream of celeriac which was absolutely to die for. And a good amount of perfectly crispy fries. Good wine and beer and quick and friendly staff really made our everything perfect!

Yelp
We were visiting Amsterdam on a cruise. We saw this cute little place on our walk back to the ship and decided to stop in for a beer. They have the most adorable hand painted picnic tables outside. Each one has a QR code on it and you can order your drinks or food and they bring it right to your table. We ordered a couple of cold beers to enjoy outside. You can pay with a credit card on the QR order too. Each table has a unique code; so they know where to bring your order. It was a really cute place with quick service and a fun artsy vibe!

Yelp
Just a really, cool place to have a drink and relax yourself! Came here with a few guys after a canal boat ride during after a weeding ceremony of a friend of mine - we got some typical bar food which was alright, and got a few beers. Very lively dive bar along the canal. It was a fun place to watch the sunset and grab a beverage as well.

Stefanie K.

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing setting. The ambiance is just amazing, pic nic table on the quay, chilled as can be. You order your drinks through an app, they bring it over. Definitely wish i could have spent more time there , will be back for sure!!

Neluta G.

Yelp
Another brown bar, situated on the water on a pontoon, love these bars. This bar is hundreds of years old and here was were the sailors that arrived late at night could not go on shore until the next day. Lot's of history here, there is an antique heating element in the middle of the bar that has to be at least 200 years old. The place is loud and crowded and you have to be pretty aggressive to get an order of drinks, again very grateful for my Dutch co-worker.

Matthew L.

Yelp
Just a really, really, really cool place to have a drink! Came here with a few guys after a canal boat ride during a bachelor party - we got some typical bar food which was alright, and got a few beers. The vibe of the place is what makes it really stand out for a nice, chill spot to daydrink. Wish we had enough time to come back to see what it was like at night, but I highly recommend it! You get nice views of the water from their outdoor picnic tables, and everything seemed to be fairly priced.

Yelp
Looking forward to avoiding the crowds Amsterdam's tourist? Then this is the place for its location is a bit obscure and just what a local ordered, but once you cross the bridge you are in a world of toasty fireplaces, plush seating, and warm Irish coffees. The service here is excellent and the menu is loaded with yummy options...Bitterballen (Dutch Meatballs) anyone? This place is very cool, and I am certain that if I lived in Amsterdam, I would be here on a regular basis. From its hip location to its inviting patio, you can't go wrong with this one.

Jasmine B.

Yelp
Very lively dive bar along the canal. It was a fun place to watch the sunset and grab a beverage. The space is quite large and very casual. The staff were all friendly and everyone was in good spirits. The beer was cold and the wine was tasty too. The bar food looked good for snacking though we decided that it wasn't the kind of place where you really eat a meal at. It can be a bit of a challenge to find since it's kind of a long walk from the central station but it's a nice walk.

Nola G.

Yelp
This was such a great summertime hangout. We pulled up at the dock in the boat, had some great Belgian beer, delicious Dutch bitterballen, and great company at this super-cute waterfront cafe and bar in this shack-like decor with a fun after-work crowd. The place is decorated with salvaged and recycled furniture. Live music some nights. I can't wait to go back!!

Samanta Mikštaitė M.

Yelp
The location is incredible, but the prices not so much. Very expensive, but I guess its Amsterdam, plus, if you come in the evening, theres not much food choices

Steve C.

Yelp
Very nice setting, enjoyed this low key bar. Great place to hang out and relax. Off the beaten path of the hustle and bustle but worth seeking out.

Lissette H.

Yelp
It's such a cool place to hang out with friends and have a beer, they have this huge patio area and you can see the museums it's a really nice view! And on Wednesday they have a live band playing after 930 pm was awesome. The food was ok!

Johanna S.

Yelp
Approximately 15 minute walk east from central station, a nice restaurant/cafe. Also easy reachable by boat. What i like: - even on busy days, food arrives in reasonably short time. Only three main courses and two deserts. - not too crowded on sunny days - main courses (duckbreast and hamburger) were good value for money. Deserts were disappointing... Tip: first get a table and check your table number. Then go to the bar, mention your table number and order your food and drinks and pay

Yelp
Loved this hidden gem. It was recommended by a local person so we trekked in the rain, got lost once or twice due to construction, and finally made it to Hannekes Boom. It was a warm and cozy and charming interior. It looked like a good party space outside but it was just to cold to explore. We didn't have reservations but were seated right away. Unexplainably, we were asked to switch tables twice. One time was after we already ordered our beer. It was strange. It was clear the place was full of locals and regulars so we definitely felt a little ignored. However, the beer selection was excellent. We had quite a few different ones including some local brews. The food was also outstanding. My fish of the day fish was tender, flaky and full of flavor. Definitely lots of attention to detail. I wish we were there in the summer - it would have been nice to sit outside and watch the boats go by. Definitely a hidden gem but so worth the trek.

Yelp
We came here on the recommendation of our tour guide. We asked where we should watch the Netherlands World Cup game that would give us the best Amsterdam experience, and he recommended Hannekes Boom. Yes, it's a bit out of the way (northeast of Central Station) and you have to cross several bridges to get there, but it's so worth it. Once we saw the space, we could see why he recommended it. It's on the water, and it's basically beer garden style seating in their huge backyard. They also have a roof deck and an inside. They had a big LED type screen to show the game (wasn't very crisp, but it worked), as well as a smaller flat screen on the side of the building. Boats also docked against the place to party. All pretty cool stuff. It's not very touristy, but Dutch people are friendly, so it doesn't matter. Luckily, we got there early so we were able to snag a table. Inside, there are multiple cashiers for both food and drink ordering (make sure you know your table number for food). And they accept credit cards! Their menus are in Dutch (and they don't have an English version), but most of it is easily translatable (e.g. "nachos" means "nachos"). They also had a special menu for the World Cup, which consisted of a wonderful burger. We were told by other people there that everything they serve is organic. Not sure if it's true, but the burger was delicious. Beer pitchers are reasonably priced (I believe Jupiler was 12.50 EUR), and you can order from waitresses and waiters who go around (they're cash only though). Thankfully, Netherlands won the game, and everyone went crazy. Good vibes all around, and a wonderful place to watch the sun set (or at least start to set). If you get a chance, definitely stop by Hannekes Boom!

Yelp
This was a really nice bar to hang out in for a little while. We were visiting Amsterdam via the cruise terminal, and after our excursion we had just about two hours to ourselves. We wanted someplace within walking distance (there was a light drizzle) and I'm glad Yelp led us here! The beer list was fun with mostly Belgians on draft but a few Amsterdam beers in bottles. They have an English menu, but the bartender recommended us some appetizers of the snack menu and we enjoyed our bitterballen. The atmosphere inside was cozy and lively. I highly recommend checking this bar out.

Michael R.

Yelp
Fun restaurant/bar right on the canals. Great choices of beer and interesting sandwiches. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. More of a place for locals which was part of its appeal.

Andy W.

Yelp
So I work on a ship, and had the better part of an afternoon to wander about Amsterdam. I'd spotted this place the same morning during my run while waiting for the swinging bridge to swing back my way. If not for the footpath over to Oosterdock / NEMO it would be fairly out of the way, but worth a visit regardless. The set up is simple, think beer garden, but the setting is terrific - alongside the busy waterway all the little boats use to head out for a cruise, and with great views of the center city and skyline. I spent an early evening hour with a Jupiler watching happy boaters bob past. The vibe is super social and the place has great energy. It may well be a gastropub but the only activity I saw was friends with beers :)

Good Power F.

Yelp
Cool place by the river, very chill at summertime. But they changed menu, so whatever dishes you find from yelp posts may not be there any more. We ended up getting appetizers for lunch instead. It's a cool bar for drinks

Stefano C.

Yelp
Yes! I've found yet another favorite place in A'dam, besides the famous Roest: Hannekes Boom! I passed by so many times, by bike... by train and airplane, but never figured out how to reach this marvelous location. After all it wasn't that difficult to find, and the reward was very much worth the wait. Hannekes Boom is the ideal bar, cafe or restaurant to escape the hectic inner city and tourist overkill. They have an ideal outside place, which is situated at the water and where you can enjoy an impressive variety of beers, while catching some sun or watching it go down. Just enjoying the Amsterdam life as it passes by, and let's not forget their delicious bitterballen. Always a treat. The interior of Hannekes Boom feels a bit like Berlin, mixed with a wooden and vintage style. They also have a very cool stove, where you can sit around. But this place feels best in the spring or summer, having a drink with friends at one of the picnic tables they have outside... or just chilling in the gras. The down side to such a lovely place is that it attracts a lot of people, so it's almost crowded all the time... oh well, you can't have it all.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
With summer ramping up, several friends and I have been touring around the city looking for a local watering hole. It must offer the following: excellent drink selection, good food, even better music, and a waterfront view. When stumbling into Hannekes Boom, we thought we found the spot. It was right across from NEMO along the water, allowing for cool breezes during particularly hot days. The menu was solid (both in terms of food and drinks) with moderate prices. So what happened? Beers were a hit or miss - some were flat while others were crisp and perfect. Bartenders were kind enough to give us new pitchers/pints of beer if we informed them they were flat, however. The food was pretty good, but service took forever. Half the table received their orders while the other half waited nearly an hour before receiving theirs. Some menu items were also missing, resulting in us flagging down servers or heading back into the bar to fix the order. Lastly... the music selection is really eclectic. And I don't mean that in a good way. There would be periods when the DJ seemed to get the vibe and play a really good setlist. Then half an hour later, the DJ seemed to be replaced by an imposter with some really funky selections. All in all, it was a mediocre experience. We'll continue roaming Amsterdam for a good summer hangout in the meantime.

Tré S.

Yelp
This is the place to be when the weather is warm (or almost warm) as they have ample seating room outside, a great hip crowd and prices are reasonable. They also have live music inside (I saw an awesome jazz band play here) which just adds to the ambiance. Even though it's more known for a warm weather-outside seating venue, during the winter time their food is AMAZING! I ate here twice during the cold winter months and was absolutely surprised of the quality of the food, taste was above my expectations and the price was below fancy restaurant prices. A must visit venue all year round.

Ana D.

Yelp
The best thing about Hannekes Boom is the location, of course, especially when the weather is good. But not sure what's up with their flat beer, and not having table service might be convenient for them but it's a bit of a pain having to go inside every time you need a round of drinks. The platter of hapjes (snacks) was greasy and overly fried, though the bitterballen seemed to have actual meat in it. Will stay away for a while and maybe try again next year.

Megan V.

Yelp
Boom boom boom, lemme hear ya say way-ooooooo (way-ooooooo). "OMG, the food is AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZING! And the cocktails - never had any better!" ...said nobody ever about Hannekes Boom. Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. THAT is what you get at Hannekes Boom. They don't know how to make a Long Island, a shot that isn't straight liquor is not possible and the bar food is average and Amsterdam standard - fried bits of Dutch goodness and nachos (I would not turn my nose up at that). You go here for the very cool outside, on your own sort of private island (but only private in that you share it with other people who are here), on-the-water vibe. It is perfect with a couple of friends and some good beer (and they do stock Brouwrij t'Ij beer!).

Billy D.

Yelp
Great bar, off the beaten path, but a short 5 minute walk from the train station. People are nice, even when it's busy. Kind of like an urban retreat. Best to go for the patio and hippie vibe during the summer. Take a boat there if you can. Order Hoegaarden with a lime and nothing else. Super lekker. They have a fireplace in there for winters, so there's something there all year 'round.

Espen S.

Yelp
Hannekes Boom is one of my favorite Amsterdam hangouts on sunny days. It's a little out of the way behind the central station and NEMO - but in this case, that is a good thing: It means it's a nice and quiet getaway from busy Amsterdam streets! Also, if you have a boat, you can dock it right here for a couple of brews before you head back to town. Awesome. When I first discovered this place a few years ago, it was packed with locals - but over the years, the english to dutch ratio has grown considerably - so the "hidden gem for locals" vibe that I got here the first couple of times is not quite there anymore. Nevertheless - Hannekes Boom is a fantastic hangout with an awesome vibe. Oh, and the food is OK. I've only eaten here once, and had the burger. I'd say it's a three star burger, decent but nothing more.

Varia M.

Yelp
4.5 stars, a minus point for being overcrowded on a Wednesday night!!! While it is a big space and a bit hidden, it's nonetheless near a few office buildings and thus very popular with the after-work crowd. The crush of people didn't slow down the service too much though - a standard Amsterdam 25 minute wait for food - and I was really happy with the meal I ordered (a delicious tagine). Note that it's a self-service place where you have to give a table number to order food, and bring your own drinks to your table. I didn't check what would happen if you sit by the water and want to order food... I would also give a little ding due to the price of admission: something like 4€ for a little glass of wine, and 15€ for a regular sized veggie dish. To be expected for a place near central station, but not at a serve-yourself bar at the waterside. But a nice place, with a lovely atmosphere, more organized and grown-up than Roest while still retaining a bit of Berlin/beachy vibe. Great for an evening with friends!

Eddie H.

Yelp
There is no better place to have a drink and soak in the sun in Amsterdam that Hannekes Boom. Its the perfect place to lie on the grass, dip your feet in the water, hang out on the boat, or engage in conversation at the benches. It is a bit tucked away behind the library but once you arrive, you will be pleasantly surprised of the outdoor seating and view of the Science Center NEMO boat. This is a great escape from the crowded streets of Amsterdam across the water - do not miss out next time you are there!

Alex C.

Yelp
This is a great hang out in a beautiful spot. Right on the water. From central station, pass the library and conservatory and keep going. It looks a lot like a California beach bar. There are places to dock boats but when we were there it was full. You can take the 25 or 26 tram and get off across from the Musikgebouw, then go down the hill to the water.... you can't miss it! This place is a hidden gem but it's been discovered and was packed the night we went. We went on a Wednesday night to check out the Jazz jam session. The food was pretty average. Average portions, and average taste maybe a bit above average price. TIP: grab a table first... then order at the bar. Before the band started the background music was NOT jazz but pretty good mix of 80's oldies and Dutch rock. It was a beautiful day so most people were inside only to buy drinks or food. There were long lines at the bar but they moved fast. The band started around 9:45 and was a nice quartet of young (in or just out of school) jazzers playing some standards and originals. I think the music is pretty new here. There were a few people there to listen but mostly the crowd was outside. As in many bars the music seemed like an added background and not the main focus. I get the feeling this is a late night hang. We left around midnight to catch our tram and saw a couple of other musicians arriving to play. This place is a special gem! particularly sitting outdoors on a nice day.

Tanya V.

Yelp
This place is pure fun! My husband and I met some new friends here on Saturday night, and admittedly only had a couple of beers, but the music was great, the menu looked like it would be good and the atmosphere was downright beachy. The view of Amsterdam from the patio is great... Nemo, ships and boats, waterfront, bridges... very nice! I will absolutely be back here, especially on a warm summer night. (this might even be better than a sunset at the actual beach!)

Kathy C.

Yelp
This is a very fun spot right out on the edge of 2 canals. Great staff, young vibe, pretty good food. Outside seating too

Kim V.

Yelp
Hanneke's Boom is a really cool place to relax, drink, eat and probably even for dancing. It is a bit hidden and located close to Central station, behind the NEMO museum. I have been here once now, and it was in the afternoon with extremely hot weather. It was a great way to spend an afternoon when it's above 30 degrees Celsius because this place is located by the waterside and there is a nice fresh breeze. You can sit down at the picnic tables, or on a few wooden logs, or on the ground by the water (like we did). The atmosphere here is really good and I can imagine it must be an awesome hidden spot to stumble upon if you are a tourist. When you see this place, with the lights in the trees, the painted picnic tables and people on the ground you might think the prices of the drinks and food are cheap here (because that's what I thought) but they are not. Water is over 2 euros, a gin tonic is 6,60 and I paid 7,50 for a fresh and tasty, but very plain goats cheese salad (lettuce, bit tomato, a bit of cheese and a dressing, more like a side salad). So it's not cheap. I never had dinner here though, or sandwiches, but the card looks interesting are not really that expensive either. It's just that I would expect lower prices at a place like this.

Preeti S.

Yelp
I totally love this place! I went here for a drink on friday evening and its a perfect place to go to when you want to enjoy a little bit of sun with some good drinks and friends. The setting is casual and relaxed, there is plenty of seating area- inside and outside and the arty feel to the decor only makes it better. I did not try any food this time but will update my review soon.

Mary Mac J.

Yelp
The bitter balls are good. The beer is good. This place is poppin. We did not experience any live music, however. Also not the most bang for your buck. The view and location/area are incredible though!

Michael P.

Yelp
Our first night in Amsterdam, after checking in at our hotel, we asked if there was anywhere nearby to get drinks and snacks. They sent us over to Hanneke's boom, and it proved to be a good choice. It's located on a quay across from NEMO, accessible via footbridge from the Central Station area or via an underpass below the tracks to the waterfront and the Movenpick hotel where we were staying. It's basically a big beer garden outside, with some space inside and on a roofdeck as well. We ordered some beer, wine, and appetisers inside. They have a pretty good beer selection, so we drank happy. They didn't have an English menu, so we just decided to get the first few things on the menu. The bitterballen were pretty good, and we also ended up with some sort of vegetable spring rolls that were decent. It was definitely a fun intro to Amsterdam, before we went out and explored the city a bit.

Rachelle Y.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. Super chill. Good food. Good drinks. Good people. And in the sun, just great times. The nachos are actually pretty decent. The sandwiches are great. And their mojitos are very popular and pretty good. Yes, mojitos! There's ample seating. When the sun is out I prefer sitting on the roof. They take credit cards too. Order food downstairs. You can only order drinks from the bar upstairs on the roof.

Sara S.

Yelp
Delicious lunch Broodjes, good beer selection and wonderful Biergarten on the water. Perfection.

Christina H.

Yelp
Very cool location, esp. on a sunny summer day. It's right next to the canal, opposite to the Nemo. Very tasty food (burgers, salad, sandwiches) for okay prices (it's defenitely cheaper than in the city center). You can sit at the water, watch the boats pass by and enjoy your drink (also with okay prices, e.g. 3,50 EUR for a Cider). Cool people! More locals than tourist.

Nick F.

Yelp
Cool place with lots (and lots) of outside seating to sit and enjoy a beer while overlooking central Amsterdam. They have a nice selection of some specialty Amsterdam beer which is always nice. So far I've only been there for one drink but hope to go back, try more, and then tell you all about it.

Nikola C.

Yelp
Ultimate terrace chillout location for a smooth summer night. Grab a bottle of wine, some snacks from the bar (both very modestly priced) and try to ignore the total lack of service you will experiance here. Hanneke's Boom has an "order and pay at the bar" concept which is not uncommon for waterside terrace places (think Waterkant and Roest).. Unlike its competitors however, the staff is mostly preoccupied with itself rather then customers. Also the both food and wine are not exceptional, although very modestly priced. Nevertheless, due to its relaxed atmosphere and superb location its still worth the trip (if you're smart, bring some wine of your own).

Kevin G.

Yelp
Trendy place near the entrance to the ij river close to the library and nemo museum. Great for a hot summer evening, where you can sit on the terrace, drink a beer and watch the boats go consistently streaming by into the ij. Large space with room for 200 to 300 people. They had some live music going and a BBQ when we visited.

Frank I.

Yelp
Fabulous near to central station and direct to the water and many boats. Must visit for tourists in Amsterdam!

Garrett W.

Yelp
Hannekes is the place to be. It was a beautiful day out, which makes this place even more enjoyable. Great outdoor seating, and amazing vibe to the place. This is definitely the place to be, young/hip atmosphere, great bar to meet new people at. I Would never miss the chance to grab some beers and hang out.

Robert L.

Yelp
I really liked this place. It is a little out of the way for tourists visiting the city center but it is a very nice walk by the water it you take the bridges past NEMO. Beer selection is average but good. We didn't try the food. Lots of friendly locals as well as a few tourists. The view is great and I like the quirky colorful look of the building. It was a bit crowded when I was there but you can still find spots to sit around the dock. Lots of shade, so this is a good spot even on the warm summer days.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Great place! Lots of different fun beers and great bitterballen. While it's a little hard to get to, it has a great vibe and delicious food.

Laura N.

Yelp
Not being a local, I think I would never have discovered this place unless a local told me! I first got as a great tip to park in Parking Oosterdok where the price is extremely low compared to the rest of the city. It costs 13 euros under the condition that you stay there for minimum 5 hours (but that's not too hard in such a cool city right?). And Hannekes Boom is located close from it which makes it a perfect meeting spot. Under a small bridge, it is facing Nemo. It looks like a Beer Garden actually. There are colorful wood tables everywhere outside to enjoy the sun along the water. You order at the bar were very very nonchalant people serve you. That was minder but ok I guess this is the casual style they want to spread around. We ordered some drinks and nachos cheese (yummi!). Prices were a bit high but you can stay there very long and just enjoy the atmosphere which makes it worth it for sure. There are all kind of people (I heard English, German), I saw children, older couples, groups of very young people, great mix. A cool place that I was pleased to discover even though it's located a bit remotely.

Dominik K.

Yelp
Super location, good drinks and nice music. Only the cigarette vending machine is incredibly complicated to operate..

Aneta P.

Yelp
One of my favorite after-work places on sunny days. Amazing atmosphere, you can arrive by boat as well, chill on the sand or at the benches, at the terrace above or in the winters by the fireplace, everywhere cozy and relaxed; great view on the Scheepvaartmuseum at the other side of the water.

Kelsey V.

Yelp
This is a great place to hang out. It's best in warm weather so you can take advantage of the lovely Ij-side outdoor seating, but indoors is also cozy, with a mix of couches and arm chairs around a fire as well as old fashioned tables. The menu isn't extensive but the soup of the day (Jerusalem artichoke yesterday when I was there) was delish as was the beetroot and goat cheese salad. The waitstaff is friendly (they even smiled!) and you don't wait hours for drinks like in some other Amsterdam establishments. A few downsides: some large groups came in while we were there so it got very loud, people kept crashing into my chair as they tried to pass (it can be a bit tight space-wise) and the door near the couches let in some very frosty air, but hey, can't control the weather! Otherwise two big thumbs up.

This is our standard hangout after work since our office is very close. Their food is just ok and nothing more than bar food, but the setting by the waterfront, the big fireplace and couches, the nice outdoor seating.. what's there not to like? It's a very casual and fun place to hang out, especially on a warm summer evening!
