Hannon House

Great location for an overnight stop on our way to Whitefish. Very friendly hosts that greet you when you arrive and show you where everything is. Our children enjoyed watching the chickens and geese. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the river. Hot tub at the end of a busy driving day was fantastic. Comfy beds! Owners even brought us apples he had just picked from his tree. It’s evident they really care about their homestead. Beautiful views all around. Be sure to check out “The Fluffy Butt Hut” bakery down the road!

Stayed at this property for Labor Day weekend. This place is absolutely amazing and so serene. Would recommend this property to anyone thinking of staying near Missoula/Darby/Hamilton…. Being down the road from the hit series Yellowstone Ranch was a plus for us!!

What a wonderful place to stay, only wished we could have stayed for a few days more. The cabin was perfectly suited to our needs, comfortable & clean. Loved the atmosphere the river at the back of the property & surrounding location are beautiful, as is , Darby township full of country charm. The hosts are lovely who can’t do enough for you. Thank you so much for the eggs to have with our breakfast. 2 lost Aussies

We stayed here in the summer of 2024. What a great location and such kind owners. Beautiful spot next to the river. Had a great time using the hot tub. They even welcome you with your name as you come up the driveway. Can’t wait to come back and explore the Bitterroot mountains even more.

This was a return visit and it was just as relaxing and enjoyable as our first. We love staying in the Cutthroat Cabin as it is always clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and it has a washer and dryer to boot! The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and we loved listening to all of the birds and watching the geese and chickens roam the property.||The Hannon House is a nice, central location for day trips to Salmon ID, and up to the Missoula area. If you need recommendations for places to see or restaurants to visit, hosts Jason & Toni will have them. ||THANK YOU Jason & Toni for a wonderful visit! We are looking forward to staying at Hannon House again.

Toni and Jason are exceptional hosts! We stayed two nights and wish we could’ve stayed longer. On our second night there was a monster wind storm that knocked power out from 4pm to 5 am the next morning. Jason brought us battery operated lanterns, food, ice, and a mini generator. Property is amazing and room was perfect for our stay. Jason gave us the scoop on where to eat and places to explore. He was a wealth of info!

Great, cozy, clean, beautiful place. Host was so so nice, even shared his homemade hamburgers with us! Very accommodating, saw a herd of elk up the road and the river runs through the back of the property, which was a great place for cocktails! Enjoyed the sun set over the mountains from the hot tub! Fun, fun place. Bed was so comfortable!

Truly a gem. I loved staying here. It’s hard to choose what I appreciated most, from the beautiful views, riverside fishing, or extremely comfortable and thoughtful accommodations. The river flows right through this historic property, and there are so many interesting tidbits to enjoy from the animals and chickens (if you like) to the soft towels and extremely comfortable mattress or the hot tub. The owners are incredible people who clearly care for their slice of heaven, and they’re happy to share their wealth of local knowledge and are available for any questions that arise. I can’t say enough good things about my time here, 10/10 I will be back.

We had the pleasure of staying two nights at one of their amazing cabins, The Cutthroat, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an incredible place to stay! The accommodations were very comfortable, the aesthetic was warm and inviting and it was even stocked with some local coffee that was delicious! While we didn't take advantage of the hot tub, there was a pretty nice area where you could sit and soak away your days adventures! Toni and Jason are by far the best hosts and you will not be disappointed!!!

First, to begin, we have had several issues with this trip. This includes a blow out tire that destroyed the rear of my car and busted out all the tail lights. The Hannon House had us take back all the negatives that have happened to us outside of the week that we stayed with them. Our stay seemed to take away all our worries. When we arrived late due to our fault (tire blow out), we were welcomed by a sign that literally said, "Hannon House: Welcomes "The Koch Family". What a touch of class and I could see why this was a great establishment. It was snowing and the property was simply gorgeous. Just walking around on the first day in the dark, made us feel connected with something bigger than ourselves. Then we met Toni and Jason. You could not ask for a friendlier welcome that just added to the experience and tone to the week get away. Even walking in, we found some fresh eggs from their fully working chicken coup on the property. Our first day made us forget about all the stress we had on the long drive from Miami to Montana. We forgot all the mishaps in about the first hour of arriving and loved the whole stay and experience for the rest of the week. Toni and Jason are incredible dog folks. We took the option to bring our pug, Peggy. She had a blast, we had a blast. Toni and Jason were very open and have the hospitality skills of a 5 Star hotel concierge. They were around when needed and met all our needs. They will answer any question and even provide you with a fire to warm on your cool evening (look for the marshmallow/skewers they graciously provide). Toni and Jason have pride in their property and location and the history of it. You should take them up on the suggestions on a Steak House or any local business in nearby towns. They provided suggestions that helped me get my car fixed and we are now able to continue with the rest of our vacation plans. YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG!!!! Jason and Toni gave details on the fishing property that has left me intrigued and wanting to come back for more. Our family might come back in the summer next time, we hope the brewery is up and running. I wish them success in the future, and I hope our paths cross again.

When I was planning our trip I found the Hannon House and from the website it looked a very rural and secluded place to stay. We were greeted by a very nice hand written welcome sign to me personally, which was a very touching and warm gesture. The couple who manage the property are super friendly and accommodating. The Good: We stayed in the West Slope Suite and the room was beautiful with vaulted ceilings and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is big enough to dance in and has a wonderful bath tub. (it also has the best views). I never did figure out how to make water come out of the shower, however. I did not ask the hosts, though they are very responsive and would have solved that in a minute. Make sure to open the bathroom windows (crank handle, swing out type) and open the windows to the porch. With the storm windows removed from 2 of the windows, the fresh air flows through nicely. It is so well insulated for the winter months that it has an air-tight feel. It was well decorated and had some cool furniture. There is a single coffee maker in the room, but I was unable to make any coffee with it. I was hoping for a one-button push to turn it on, but the coffee maker appeared to need some programming to work. I gave up, but I am a bit old school on coffee makers. The river is about 100 yards from the suite and is so beautiful and tranquil. The sounds of the various animals at night are great! Parking could not be easier and it was a short walk to the room. The Bad: As we proceeded down the drive, we passed by a large (about 40'X60') metal building and pond on the left. This would be the view from our porch of our room, the West Slope Suite, and was a bit of a bummer and kept us from hanging out on the very nice porch. (The building does not show up on Google Maps, satellite view). The Suite is attached to the care takers home and it feels like it when you walk up to it. You wonder what sounds might travel through the walls. While the river is close, there are no chairs to sit and observe or picnic table to enjoy a riverside meal. Some chairs and some sort of table would have made it a nice place to hang out, rather than just a walk out and back. It would have made up for the view of the big steel building and pond right in front of us. The image I had from the website did not match what I found, and this is where my disappointment came in and why I am only providing 3 stars. There are a lot of pictures around the area, but hard to tell what is actually part of Hannon House. My girl friend loved it, and that really counts. I would suggest a website update that more accurately reflects the buildings and grounds. And a picnic area along the river really would have been magical. The hosts are amazing and friendly, so they would get 5 stars if I could rate them individually. I did not view the Cutthroat Cabin, but that might have been an entirely different experience.
