We (my wife and two adult daughters) stayed 8 days/nights in this lovely, boutique hotel, over the Christmas holidays. Breakfast was excellent and allowed one to start the day without worrying about finding another meal outside of the hotel. The location of the hotel is nearly perfect, comfortably within Petite France, and just a quick jaunt to Place Kleber and the Cathedral and other important cultural and historical destinations. Everything one might possible need is nearby, and for jaunts beyond the immediate area, tram stops are close by and so is the main Train Station. The staff was excellent. And that includes those at the front desk, in the restaurant/bar, and those assigned to housekeeping. I can't say enough about the staff. When we arrived, our daughter was unfortunately coming down with a bronchial infection. On a Sunday no less, and within an hour of our request, she had a telephone appointment with a doctor in Paris and prescriptions for numerous medications that provided immediate relief. We stayed in 2 rooms on the 1st floor, including the junior suite. The rooms were spotless and well appointed. That said there is a tiny bit of wear and tear beginning to show (a couch furnishing and a bit of parquet flooring) but in no way does this impede the quality of one's experience. Thank you to the operators and staff for a most enjoyable stay.

Beautiful hotel conveniently located near centre of Strasbourg. Staff was warm and welcoming. Rooms clean and bright. Standard rooms may be a bit on the small-side (~15 sqm), but this is to be expected in historic buildings of Europe. Really appreciate all of the staff who made us feel welcome and valued! Merci!

Very good quality hotel in an excellent location. The Hannong family is part of the history of Strasbourg and the hotel lives up to that history. Rooms are on the small side but consistent with others in the city. Shower was excellent even though it was over the bath but the shower screen did not work so I had to put extra towels down to soak up the splashes. The mirror was not heated so you had to wait to use it after a shower. Service at the hotel was superb. From the reception team to the cleaning team, everyone was friendly and incredibly helpful. There were lots of nice touches like daily gifts and a gift on departure. Reception were happy to help with advice and information whenever we asked. There was also a cake and drinks buffet every afternoon in the lounge which was well stocked and generous. We also appreciated that there were no unexpected extras - there was a fridge in the room but no mini bar. Water bottles were left for us and there was good tea and instant coffee in the room and bean to cup coffee and hot chocolate in the lounge. This was an excellent 4* hotel at a reasonable price for the time of year and service provided. We would definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A couple of words of appreciation:|My husband and I decided to visit Strasbourg for a couple of days to experience Christmas markets. We booked Hannong hotel and wine bar. Prior to the arrival, we received the email from the hotel inquiring if we need special assistance, any additional services and also they provided an explanation about street closures/parking suggestions. The hotel is located in the center of a town - about 10 min walk from the train station, 10-15-20 min from any of the attractions. The front desk ladies (Amelia and… so sorry, cannot remember now) were amazing - friendly, helpful with restaurants and spa suggestions and booked them for us. In addition, our room got upgraded, we also received a complementary bottle of wine, which was a very nice touch. The room was very clean and cozy (not too big, but ok with European standards), bed and pillows comfy. We had breakfast at the hotel (for 22euro/person) - let me tell you- great selection of the meats, pastries, spreads, yogurt, scrambled eggs, etc. You can make boiled eggs, fresh squeezed apple/orange/carrot juices. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, refilling food as needed. We didn’t have a chance to visit the wine bar though, but base on our experience with the hotel in general, I’m sure it was great too. Im thinking of what might be a negative thing that I should mention - really nothing, maybe a lady from the room above walking in her heels, lol, but she changed quickly, probably to slippers provided by the hotel.|Just wanted to say thank you to the hotel staff, their hard work and for making our stay very pleasant!

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely recommend this hotel! I think the best part of our stay was the amazing staff. The girls at the reception were outstanding. So genuinely polite and helpful. Amelie got us checked in, explained the location, the main Christmas markets, etc. Everyone was very nice. Angelica who runs the breakfast, did so with absolute professionalism. The staff was great, despite it being busy, they worked swiftly with a smile on their face, clearing plates, refilling items, helping people as needed. We felt very looked after. They even left us a lovely Cremant sparkling wine as we were celebrating a birthday. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely quiet room. Great central location - probably 10mins from the tourist hot spots. Also a level 15 walk from the main station. Our room had a lovely wooden floor (parquet I think), great modern bathroom with a wonderful shower; back in the main room there was a comfortable bed with silky smooth sheets. Everything to make you feel welcome. I really liked that the lift came back to the lobby ready - this the only hotel I've seen that - nice touch. The breakfast was delicious with local cheeses and fresh bread and awesome teas with little Japanese cast iron pots. The staff were super - felt like it was a partnership with some ownership as they were focused on ensuring we had a good time. We had the pleasure of meeting Angelica who was charming and spoke delightful English and ensured we wanted for nothing. Definitely planning a return visit.

Wonderful location for easy access from train station and close to most central city sites, as well as tram lines. Amazing friendly reception. Comfortable bedding, great towels and toiletries, but a rather small space, and some late night noise from the street outside, otherwise it would have earned highest marks. The lobby bar was delightful, small plate (tapas) food delicious, bar staff super friendly, decor beautiful. Room price was high but to be expected during Marché Noël high season, and the daily gifts were a nice touch.

Hotel is conveniently located near the Christmas markets and clean. The staff were wonderful and the wine bar was very nice. The servers. in the wine bar are very knowledgeable about wine and good at explaining the wine in detail. Our room was a corner room and the ambient noise both inside and outside the hotel was loud both early morning and late night. If you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs. The in room coffee is instant only (no nepresso or coffee maker). We did not take part in the buffet breakfast but did see it as we went for coffee only. There was an assortment of pastries and charcuterie as well as eggs to hard boil. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and the staff.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings after staying at the Hotel Hannong. It's an older hotel steps away from Place Kléber, which is the epicenter for the Strasbourg Christmas markets. Nice old world decor. Noisy as anything at night! Since they run the building with heat full blast in winter, I felt stifled and had to open my window to get any air while putting up with street noise. Not comfortable. The room itself was small and tidy - oddly triangular shaped; it looked like a larger room that was cut up. The shower enclosed in frosted glass right next to the bed reminded me of CitizenM hotels' room. The bed was a bit hard as I find most European hotels having. Nice amount of (4) pillows. The front desk was mainly staffed by college-age interns who weren't helpful. They did not inform me of the afternoon treats in the lounge (which I learned about on the day before I left). I wasn't happy to have missed the complimentary tea/coffee and sweet baked treats. For a 4-star hotel charging about $400 USD per night due to the location near Place Kléber at Christmas market time, I was disappointed. It was not worth the high cost as the room space was too hot and small and the front desk staff failed to be informative or very helpful. Food: Did not try it Front Desk Service: 3 stars Housekeeping: 5 stars (the best service of any hotel I've stayed in) Ambiance: 4 stars - very tidy Overall: 3.5 stars

Yelp
Very decent and friendly Hotel - not a Grand Hotel by any means, but with superior service, style and location for its pricing. The rooms are clean cut with fairly low ceilings (historical building...) and access to a grand staircase that connects the entire Hotel. A tip: Since you'll be located in the Center of Strasbourg, I'd recommend booking your room without breakfast if afforded the opportunity - the surrounding bakeries and coffee shops offer excellent quality and will make you regret opting for the very decent, yet ultimately forgettable Hotel buffet. Bonus: The staff are very good at remembering former guests and will generously let you use the bathroom when you return to Strasbourg WITHOUT staying at the Hotel ;).

Yelp
WARNING TRAVELER! I prepaid a 2 night stay in this "4 star hotel" to spend a weekend on the island sightseeing in the old town. After a 2.5 hour train ride to get here in the evening Friday , I am notified that I cannot stay 2 nights, only one, and will need to leave in the AM! The room I paid for was sold to another guest Saturday They said they looked for a comparable 4 star hotel but could only find a 2 star hotel next to the train station...I had researched that hotel and it has horrible reviews, unclean, etc. They told me to check with them later tomorrow and maybe a guest will leave early or cancel! Do not trust this hotel! Maybe it's because I'm an American, who knows. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK! October 28, 2016

Yelp
Never disappoints me. Service excellent. Staff is really competent and here to serve customers. (Which can be rare in France). They smile to welcome you. U get a discount for the parking next door. The hotel is situated righr in the middle of the action though no noise from the city can be heard from rooms. I called the reception to get an iron they brought it to me very very quick. I recommend this hotek. I have been twice and it is excellent. The bar also is awesome

Yelp
Comfortable, traditional hotel conveniently located in central Strasbourg close to the canal, restaurants, tanners' district and town square. Set on a main street, it has no car park but offers a discounted rate for the nearby multi-storey car park.

Yelp
Very comfortable hotel right in the centre of town. We had a nice room, spacious, comfortable. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Good option for staying a few days in town.

Yelp
Best hotel so far on our 3-week trip through Europe! We are thoroughly enjoying our stay at Hotel Hannong and honestly wish we had more time here. We will just have to come back again! The rooms are spacious, very clean and well decorated. The staff is very welcoming and when we arrived early they were extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to congratulate us on and help us celebrate our honeymoon. You definitely can not go wrong with Hotel Hannong.

Yelp
Very good hotel. Perfect location to all attractions, yet remote enough to not experience crowds. Staff is exceptionally friendly, pleasant. Would stay again. Great clean large rooms, amazing showers!
