Awesome food! Friendly face! Nice place!

We were in town for 1 night before a cruise. There were 6 of us, of which 3 were sushi lovers and dying to try Florida sushi. So the challenge was to find a nice place walkable from our hotel that had both sushi and non-sushi options. Tokyo Tuna was the pick, and did not disappoint!!! Our drinks included Sapporo beers, sangria, and mimosas. We shared 2 orders of dumplings, 1 steamed 1 pan fried. Both great. For my entree, I had tonkotus (pork) ramen soup and a side of chicken fried rice. The ramen broth was well developed and noodles tasty. While others in our group had two timing tuna roll, dragon roll, volcano roll, teriyaki steak, and teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki meals came with salad, rice and vegetables. My wife commented that the ginger dressing on the salad was amazing! Overall, everyone was happy and impressed with all the food, beverages, and service. We were dressed casually (collared shirt and shorts) and that seemed to fit the overall vibe on a Saturday night.

I came here for a late night sushi craving. I as haaaangry! I was glad they were open until 11pm. I got there around 10ish or so. We got seated quickly. There weren't many people there at that time. I ordered one of their sushi and sashimi sets. I was too lazy and hungry to think so it was perfect. The fish was fresh and it hit the spot. I think the price value for the amount of sashimi/sushi was good. It also came with a miso soup. The service was quick and very smooth. There was a pretty cool fish tank behind the chef counter. The decor was simple but nice. I'll have to go back and try some of their rolls. They sounded pretty good

Tokyo Tuna Sushi surprises me how empty this place can be on a night and I'm all here for it! Because let me tell you this is one of my favorite happy hour spots to check out, the deals on the BOGO drinks and then buying 2 rolls and getting a third free provides incredible value and delicious flavors! Most importantly the sushi and delicious salmon is served fresh and it pairs so well with their mule, make sure to give that a try if you're stuck on deciding which drink to go with. I've also tried the chicken katsu which is an option you can't go wrong with either and for what you pay, the portions served is extremely generous. In summary amazing happy hour, usually plenty of seating available, delicious salmon, entrees, rolls, and happy that not too many people seem to know about this spot. Hopefully it doesn't get too busy after sharing this review.

I've found my new local sushi spot! I can't speak for the dining experience as we ordered from Uber Eats, but these rolls were so good! We tried the Mr. Marino and the Hamachi Jalapeño Roll, as well as the shrimp shumai. These rolls were heafty with 10 pieces each. 1 roll was definitely enough for me! The flavors were so good. I'll definitely be ordering or stopping in soon.

Been here a few times for HH and dinner. Our go-to rolls are the Two Timing Tuna and Hamachi Jalapeño. Ramen was mid but sushi and miso soup, sake and cocktail selections all hit the mark!

Thank goodness was we took a chance to try out Tokyo Tuna Sushi. We were looking at reviews of several nearby sushi restaurants, and while the overall rating isn't super high, all the recent reviews were really good, so we tried it out. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. We had the dragon roll and salmon nigiri. The lunch menu comes with a lot of food for the price. I also really enjoyed the house salad, the ginger dressing was zesty and it had more to it than lettuce and cucumber. We will absolutely be coming here again. Very good price quality.

Wow. First timer & this place has amazing flavorful fresh rolls and apps. The tuna salmon and hamachi rolls we got were amazing. I went for happy hour and it was amazing!!!! The fish was fresh and the flavor n sauces on the rolls and apps were great. Kinda surprised at the 3 star overall rating bc the food was actually good! Hands down the otoro crudo app was the best cold app I had during my visit (the sauce with the carrots and Avocado were to perfection on the dish) We also got spicy edamame ... it was very tasty and the spicy sauce was perfect. The steamed gyoza was also good whatever sauce it comes with pairs very well with the dish! It's a sweet sauce We got 3 apps 1 round of drinks and three rolls & that was more than enough for two people. The service was great and the presentation was on point. They do have 2 hours free parking next door so it's a win!!! Parking in the área is always hard. I would deff recommend stopping by this sushi spot

I ordered Tokyo Tuna Sushi for a corporate meeting at the office and our Executive Team was impressed and satisfied with the freshness of the sushi as well as the presentation. I would recommend for catering or ordering out for any event or gathering.

Nice ambiance inside with option to sit outside. Service was also quick and waitress was nice. The food was fresh and at a great price point (especially for sushi). We had: Steamed bao buns with soft shell crab- bao buns were light and the soft shell crab gave it a nice crunch. Came with spicy mayo too! Spicy tuna crispy rice- rice was crispy but soft on inside with flavorful tuna on top. Two timing tuna roll- savory with the crispy onions on top, a heavier roll but so good Hamachi jalapeño roll- the tempura shrimp inside and truffle oil *chefs kiss*

We order delivery from here a few weeks ago and it was so yummy that we had to visit the restaurant. It has a super cute patio area with faux cherry blossom trees and plenty of seating and our service (shout out Wilson!) was excellent! We started with Octopus Banditos and truffle edamame. The octopus was a bit rubbery and the sauces didn't do it for me, but the truffle edamame was sooo good. We also had the Two Timing Tuna Roll, Hamachi Jalapeño Roll and Hot Stone Wagyu beef HIGHLY recommend all of these!!! I appreciated that they did not bring everything out all at once. They spaced it out where we could enjoy each item before the next was brought out. Wilson told us at their happy hour they even have BOGOs on rolls, apps, and drinks!! The food was incredible , service was great and prices were very reasonable! Will be back soon!

What an absolute gem! Starting with the flavorful miso soup and delicious salad with ginger dressing. This gave me high hopes, I always gauge a sushi restaurant by those two things. The rest of the meal did not disappoint the Otoro Crudo, Wagyu beef, and rolls were both flavorful, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We ended our meal with a carrot cake that had the perfect amount of sweetness. I'll definitely be coming back. I would compare the freshness and taste to much pricier Japanese restaurants. P.S. Wish I had more photos we were clearly too busy eating. Lol

I was hesitant to try this place based on the three star review but I am glad I did. The ambiance inside is cozy and dim lit. For appetizers I ordered the fried and steamed gyoza, truffle edamame, and Tara's Tuna. The gyozas were yummy. The appetizer star was Tara's Tuna. My goodness! The fried rice with the spicy of the tuna was a fan favorite at our table. For sushi rolls, I ordered the Alex Roll and Alex Roll #2. The rolls were huge and flavor wise they were delicious. I liked the Alex Roll for its simplicity. It's main flavor was the spicy tuna. The Alex Roll #2 was the table favorite for all the flavors it had. Honestly this restaurant was yummy. The only suggestions I have to the establishment is that they could work on plating and decor a bit more. Some plates like Tara's Tuna came beautifully plated while others like the fried rice came on a simple white huge plate.

Went to Tokyo Tuna last night and it was great! We got seated right away and the waiters were very attentive. I got the salmon chirashi bowl which came with a salad or a miso soup and it hit the spot. The restaurant was not very busy and had many open tables. Our food came out very fast which was good and we'll definitely come back!

I only did take out. Staff was super friendly. Food was well above average! Really good. Price was high but that's Miami for you!

To date, this is still one of my favorite casual sushi places in the city. I love to walk here and enjoy some sushi and bites. I order from the via uber eats at least once a month. The servers are always friendly & attentive. Service is quick and easy. The sushi portions are large & fairly priced, compared to others in the city. My favorites: sexy mama roll, part time roll, & the curios george.

This place wasn't our favorite. Crispy rice 2/5 Katsu chicken 2/5 Fried rice 2/5 Hamachi roll 2/5 Tuna roll 3/5 All this was $100 and we ordered pickup and waited an over an hour. Wait wasn't huge issue but food worth this price.

Fresh fresh fresh. Had most of the menu and everything was exceptional. Great vibe. Staff was wonderful and helped our table of 12 without a hiccup. If I lived closer, would be a daily spot.

This place is very good, and the service by a young gentlemen i don't know his name but he is the best. great service and good food.

The place is very pretty but where you would want to go solo during happy hour. Good two for one drinks and the server is very kind but the sushi JB roll did not look fresh. Additionally, if you wish to go during happy hour time, you must order two meals before getting a third one for free, so although it might work for a group, happy hour will not work so much for a solo eater passing by to grab a bite.

Don't bother ordering from this place, even through a third party app. They will send a robot and your food will arrive cold 1.5 hours after you placed the order. I have tried ordering on 2 separate occasions and it was the same issue both times. And the thing is they're not even cheap so really there's no incentive to order from here when there's other sushi places around that will send a person in 30 minutes

The sushi here was ok, it was nothing extraordinary. The rolls were very average. We ordered one of their most popular roll and honestly I feel like I've had better sushi at Publix. We ordered one roll and one lunch special. I appreciate all the items that come with the lunch menu but again the main sushi roll (we got the tuna roll) was was not good and we didn't even touch the rice as it didn't taste good either The staff was great and wearing mask and following social distancing But sad to say the food was not that great

Always amazing and never disappoints. Unfortunate update to my last post. Quality has gone down dramatically. Salad was wilted and sushi wasn't fresh.

I lived near this restaurant and I go by every day and today I decided to give it a try. I was very impressed. I'm not easy to please but this place is a hidden gem in Brickell. My husband and I were welcomed and served by "Doris" and "Isa" and both ladies definitely went above and beyond with the service. The quality of the food was fresh, tasty and even better than other expensive and terrible restaurants in the area like "Sexy Fish" (please see my review for sexy fish at my Yelp page). Akashi offers happy hour I believe Monday-Saturday from 4PM to 7PM and their fried dumplings are to die for. We will come back again. To whoever owns this place WE THANK YOU for the service, the quality of food and atmosphere (great music and very chic and cozy inside).

Nothing special especially for Brickell. Ok for pickup but I would not eat there. Sushi bar is very small. I like large bars with people at it. Selection is small. There are a lot of new sushi spots in Brickell which might push Akashi to step up. Staff at the front are extremely friendly.

Highly advise not to order online or delivery. When service tip or looking you in the face isn't a factor, they just don't care. Estimated wait time? Add 30 minutes. Hope your food is hot or even looks appetizing? Good luck. It's OK in person, but even then service is just abysmal

Cute sushi restaurant in brickell, with generous portions at fair pricing. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. In addition to sushi they offer some of the standards like yakisoba, fried rice, dinner combos. I really enjoyed their fried rice, and was surprised by how light and fluffy it was. It was not overly salty/seasoned and not greasy. For the sushi, I tried their EB roll with shrimp tempura and krabstick. The tempura complimented the creaminess of the avocado very well! The rice was a bit strong with the vinegar, but overall it was a good roll. The sushi roll offered for vegetarians is a vegetable roll, and there other non-sushi options as well. The wait staff were attentive and friendly, and food came fast. Overall a good dining experience, great for date night or a casual night out.

Last Night I went with my family. We had a few appetizers, I highly recommend Salmon Teriyaki and Hamachi Kama. Service was very attentive and timing was correct through our Dinner. As main course we order Akashi Roll, Mariano and Sexy Mama. Sushi size was really good. Menu pricing is great !!! We also had Shrimp Yakisoba Noodles and Chicken Katsu. Overall experience was great, I definitely recommend this Place. We will come back soon!

Poor service. I placed an order at 8:45 via toast tab with the pickup time of 9:15. I arrived at 9:22pm and they said it'll be a few more minutes. At 9:30 they said 5 more minutes. It is now 9:38pm and we have not been handed our pickup order. There are only two other people dining at this restaurant right now. I hope the food is worth it.

Wow wow wow! Akashi never dissappoints. Isa was the best server ever and the food A+++ We ordered the Cabo Salad because Isa pointed it out of the menu and this is so far THE BEST salad in Miami! The space is cozy and comfortable perfect for a rendez-vous with friends or co-workers! Thank you Akashi for an incredible Thursday night dinner we'll be coming back soon!

Really nothing bad to say about this place. Very friendly service. Sushi was pretty good. Not the best but nothing bad at all. The fried rice was great and the salmon teriyaki was good too (plus a nice big portion). Prices are a little expensive but very typical for the area. This is a great place if you are looking for outdoor seating and a more relaxed vibe.

Slowly descending every time I come here. Tuna was fishy and the eel was cold and chewy. Stick with the happy hour Chardonnay and California roll (which has grown increasingly smaller) and you will be okay.

I've ordered delivery from here in the past, but I've always strayed away from dining in because of the rating here on Yelp. So maybe my expectations were low, but I actually enjoyed my dine in experience. I thought the fish was fresh. The Salmon Toro sushi had really nice flavor. A bit saltier than I am accustomed to, but I love salt so I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Temaki, hand rolls, were good. The nori wasn't as warm and crisp as I would have liked, but once again the fish was fresh and the flavor was on point. Service was a bit slow, but there are only about three servers and a couple sushi chefs, and there were quite a few patrons on a Wednesday evening. I would definitely dine here again. Note: The few delivery experiences I've had in the past, the food was mediocre. Definitely better to dine in. Prices are fairly reasonable for Brickell.

Good sushi rolls with expected Brickell prices. The custom rolls we ordered were tasty (Alex Two, Sexy Mommy and Rainbow Roll). Wasn't a fan of the spicy tuna Temaki roll, unfortunately. The spice in the tuna wasn't too appealing. Will definitely return to try some other custom rolls.

Didn't really enjoy any of the food we got. The quality of the food isn't all that good.

Happy hour isn't too bad. Limited menu but that's to be expected. The 3.50 sake and 5.00 beer brought me in here. Food was good. Nothing too high end and they seemed to be setting up around 5 pm still. Not an issue. I was happy with the service and offerings and price. I'd give it a go for a quieter happy hour that's not packed and just relaxing.

This was my first visit to Akashi, stopped there for Happy Hour which they offer from 3pm to 7pm. I learned about this spot from the many excellent Yelp reviews, however, I do want to correct one reviewer who stated he had to ask for the Happy Hour menu. On my visit it was displayed prominently and there were no issues ordering from it. The service was friendly, the prices were super (about $5 per item and good wine) I thought the sushi was very good, I also sampled the Shrimp Shumai which were tasty but on the sweet side for me. I loved their outdoor space, especially since I went on a rainy day, the area is completely covered so you can enjoy outdoors any time. My only two quibbles, and they are minor, is that the sushi arrived without wasabi or ginger, we had to wait till a server came by to request it, same thing happened at a nearby table so I'm guessing someone was new in the kitchen and I'm sure this was easily resolved. Other minor issue was a noisy fan which, frankly, didn't need to be on at all, it was a chilly day. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my visit and give kudos to Akashi for offering an excellent & reasonable dining option in a lovely Brickell setting.

My go-to sushi spot when I'm craving sushi (which is often). Everything on their menu is so fresh and tasty. The Alex #2 roll is the BEST! (Shrimp tempura, krab salad, masago, cream cheese, topped with, avovado, spicy mayo, eel sauce and crunch). Great restaurant and great food. I highly recommend!

Order from uber eats got my favorite Marion roll and some steamed shrimp they were super good with my favorite green ice cream

Decided early on in our day that we had wanted to get sushi for dinner and after looking at the menus for other places in the area we went to Akashi. The vibes were great and we were seated immediately inside. Our waitress was prompt and knowledgeable of the menu. Appetizer was the simple edamame which came out super fresh and hot. I had a glass of wine while my fiancé got the Akashi mule which he enjoyed. Getting three rolls for 2 people turned out perfect. We got the Mermaid roll, Jennifer roll, and the Akashi roll. All of them tasted perfect and fresh. I just wish either the rolls were slightly bigger or they had less slices because there was 12 slices to each roll but they were all small. Fried ice cream for dessert was perfectly plated. What was slightly disappointing was the wait time we had to get our check but it seemed like there were only 2 waitresses for the whole establishment.

Solid Sushi spot in Brickell for anyone who is looking for something familiar. We've always passed by the main Akashi on US-1 in South Miami but haven't ate there yet. We decided to give the Brickell location a try after one of our walks around the neighborhood, something we've been meaning to do for a while. Being a weekday, the restaurant itself was relatively empty but there was a line of people waiting to pick up their take out order. Everything was solid. We split a Spicy Octopus appetizer (located under the Sushi Chef's appetizers portion of the menu), a Spider Roll, and Alex #2 Roll. It think this was our first time having raw octopus and it was absolutely delicious. Although the name of the dish was "Spicy Octopus" ($13) it was mild to me; not spicy enough to be off putting. The Spider Roll ($14) and Alex #2 ($13) rolls were both delicious substitutes for what we usually order at other sushi restaurants (the Green Dragon roll). The Alex #2 roll with it's crunchy shrimp tempura, krab salad and the Spider Roll with the fried soft shell crab were delicious. Both rolls were made with avocado and came with eel sauce to top them off. While the rolls were nothing too "exotic" or different, they were different enough and certainly warranted the prices in my opinion. In a neighborhood where good, fresh and more "creative" sushi commands a $20 premium, I can appreciate this. This place also offers a very promising happy hour which we will try very soon. If you haven't been to any Akashi location yet and are looking for a quick, good, slightly less expensive Sushi fix, give it a shot!

Went to Akashi for my birthday and it was super awesome. It is not the first time but it was the best time. Our waiter George was great; on point, funny and friendly. We had started with the chicken katsu (delicious) and then since it was happy hour we ordered California rolls, philly rolls and spicy tuna rolls. The wine was super good too. Oh and the decor is on point, the fish tank behind the sushi chefs is stunning so thank you Akashi!!!

If you are a sushi lover, this is a good place to dine in or for delivery. It has a vast vierty of options in the menu. Might not have a sushi recognized chef, but it has very good sushi and affordable prices. Plates look nice and the delivered sushi still looks nice as well.

The happy hour is such a great deal. We basically ordered one of everything. Everything is like $5. The spicy tuna roll was perfectly spicy for me aka on the mild side. The tuna tartare was delicious and fresh. Would have been nice to have it served with a cracker or something, but it was still great. Highly recommend.

Do not waste your time or money. I gave this place a second chance and after they messed up my order the second time the manager decides to argue with me that I'm wrong rather than fixing the issue and keeping his mouth shut. Awful sushi, gross fish, terrible business all around. Overpriced on top of it all. Let this place rot to the ground so that a restaurant that knows how to run a business can move in its place.

Absolutely amazing place to eat, we will be making a reservation for our next visit in! Mermaid roll and salmon teriyaki 10 of 10 for every single aspect of this meal, and this is coming from people who know and love great food !Everything about this restaurant was great. The place was clean and smelled good. The staff and greeter was very nice. Our waitress Isa was awesome, the staff also worked as a team in bringing and cleaning up our food. The food was fresh and awesome. Then we also had dessert thai donuts and that was really good as well. Great atmosphere with really nice people.

We dined at Akashi on Brickell on a Sunday afternoon. They had outside seating which was nice as it was a great day to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The service was good and the location was not crowded at all. Food: Sushi might be one of our favorite types of food and this was the first sushi spot we have tried since moving to Brickell. The tempura shrimp that made up one of our rolls was a bit stale and it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while after being fried. The rice was also a bit hard and was crumbling down and breaking down the rolls much more than regular sushi rice does. In addition, we were charged extra for a side of Sriracha. Not a huge deal, but I have been to so many sushi places and not once been charged for Sriracha. Seems a bit too much. Overall, the experience was okay but probably won't return. There are plenty of options in Brickell and this experience didn't necessarily blow us out of the water.

I give 5 stars because the sushi was amazing and the dessert was even better. The attention was good too. Order the Alex roll number 2 and the Akashi roll, they are the best of the best.

Happy Hour is 3-7pm every day. Can you really go wrong for 6pc rolls under 4 dollars?!!! Service is great! They even bring your beer with a chilled beer mug.
