Hanoi Railway Station

There is a tickets center to get the tickets. It turned out the tickets are more reasonable to buy it online rather than purchasing it at the station. there was no availability of the most cheapest seat from Hanoi to Nin bin station, we had to choose the sleeper sheet. But it was comfortable but if there is strangers will get in the same cabins, it would be a bit awkward though. Luckily, we didn’t have other companies in our cabin. The windows are not clean, a bit dirty so the scenery was a bit blurred! The people who want to sell food kept coming to your cabin, if you want to get something to eat or drink, it would be convenient.

Need improvement tourism is at peak but still using manual ways and stairs i see plp struggling with carrying their luggage to the stairs if its maintain properly i think this place will be better

Historical building underutilised due to limited tracks/trains. We walked past the building several times on our way to the train street and it's mostly very quiet unlike the busy Hanoi street outside. There is a public toilet and potentially an ATM somewhere which I failed to locate, so some good public facilities available. Some eateries are available in and out of waiting rooms. Otherwise as others mentioned it's very old style with stairs only. Main halls appear to be air-conditioned which is nice.

It's a very lonely place. The directions from the station staff are also confusing. There's a convenience store-like cafe next door, but there aren't many shops around. I tried to use the coin lockers until departure time, but they didn't work properly, which was a pain. This may be a place that will develop in the future.

SP7 was a four-person room, SP8 a two-person room. I was very satisfied. However, if you also use the shuttle, you'll be contacted at the last minute to confirm pick-up location and time, which can be a bit unsettling. The train was clean. I slept well.

We’re glad we booked the VIP room else we would be one of those who needs to queue in unorganized line and we could have carried our luggages through the stairs

We almost didn't reach this place on time because of the delay of our flight from thailand because of the weather. Actually some of the staff there were not approachable, though most of them were helpful. There is like vip lounge for our ticket but ofcourse we didn't use it because of our delay, a helpful personnel assisted us all the way to our cabin (we just like waited for few minutes), mind you, you will use stairs 🙈😅 which i didn't expect that much, and its a little bit high, with your luggage🤣 plus XP😎🙈😅 The train itselft was like in the platform 3/4 😬 This is a good way to enter sapa(thoough the destination was lao cai), the bathroom was clean and theres free snacks and water. The a/c was nice for the train too... Just try it atleast once, no delay😎

If you accidentally be on this train, avoid the cafeteria platform at all cost. Rude staffs that behave like thugs, they don’t even care and were not trained to serve customers. Very disappointed and so sad for a should-be-intersting track like North-South railway. They had ruined it all!!!
