"Also known as the 36 Streets (though it's made up of more than 36 streets), this neighborhood is a warren of alleys and lanes that was, according to some legends, home to 36 artisans’ guilds; streets here were named after the artisan items that were once sold on them (Hang Bo was the location for bamboo products; Hang Ma was where paper objects were sold). Each road today still specializes in a particular category, with some still related to the traditional item. Streets especially popular with tourists shopping for souvenirs, as well as those in search of photo opportunities, are Hang Bac (silver goods, now also filled with gift shops), Hang Ma (religious paper wares, then and now), and Hang Dau (oil products, though currently a center for shoe vendors). Among these timeworn businesses, visitors will also encounter outlet stores selling Gap, Banana Republic, and North Face clothing—some authentic and some fake. The quarter is also packed with hotels, hostels, restaurants, and bars, making it a busy destination at all hours."

Fantastic hotel located in the Old Quarter within walking distance to many shops and cafes. Rooms are a good size and clean. The only thing is the beds are very firm, but pillows are nice and comfortable. Overall a wonderful stay - great value and a wonderful breakfast with made to order eggs with a good selection of local and western items. Service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and would come here again.

Excellent Stay at Hanoi Royal Place Hotel 2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a very comfortable stay here. The room was clean and well-maintained, with top-notch cleanliness throughout. The receptionist and staff were all very friendly, always welcoming with a smile and ready to assist. The service was excellent and exceeded my expectations. The hotel’s location is also strategic, making it convenient to explore the city. The only minor downside is having to walk up a few steps before reaching the lift, but it was not a big issue. Alhamdulillah, I feel very fortunate to have stayed at this hotel. Highly recommended!

The location is perfect in old quarters. The reception was so fantastic. They greet you with a cold juice and towel. Especially Sully was so helpful and friendly. If you need any information they are readily available. The breakfast although the room is tiny the food is very good selection. The staff very friendly. Enjoy your trip in Hanoi.

Only 1 electrical outlet located on the baseboard on the floor. No other electrical outlets including the bathroom and by the bed. No place to charge my phone, laptop etc. I asked the manager about it and he supplied me with a extension cord to use. For a 5 ⭐ hotel I found this unacceptable. They also have a NO REFUND POLICY and was charged for the total amount of the stay. I didn't even spend the night. I understand a partial charge but to be charged for the total amount of $177.00 was absolutely horrible. Location is terrible as well. Very old building, no modern convienc. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone planning on staying. Staff was very RUDE! Doesn't even rank a 1 ⭐ hotel. View from room was a business side full of trash. If you do decide to stay and change your mind, don't expect to get your money back. Total rip off. Very noisy location as well.

I am so glad we chose this place! The Panoramic King Suite was positively the best experience I could have hoped for. The bed and pillows were heavenly! The rain shower was delightful and the VIEW, windows on 3 sides and being that we were here during the independence celebration, we had a perfect view of the fireworks! Just precious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! 🇻🇳👍🏼🎉🥳

This place was definitely not up to par. In its heyday, at best an econolodge in central Detroit. The building is pretty delapitatated. It was in a sketchy part of town. No amenities. I'm not picky. I would've liked an outlet in my room. There was one, but it had burn marks all around it. I wasn't gonna fry my cell for the possible charge. There are so many options, and I'd look elsewhere.

Very nice stay. Excellent location, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We received a lot of help to organize pick up, drop off for airport as well as the many tours we participated in. Sulli and Jenny were pleasant and efficient, both so very helpful during our 5 day stay. The restaurant breakfast was tasty with awesome service.
