"Also known as the 36 Streets (though it's made up of more than 36 streets), this neighborhood is a warren of alleys and lanes that was, according to some legends, home to 36 artisans’ guilds; streets here were named after the artisan items that were once sold on them (Hang Bo was the location for bamboo products; Hang Ma was where paper objects were sold). Each road today still specializes in a particular category, with some still related to the traditional item. Streets especially popular with tourists shopping for souvenirs, as well as those in search of photo opportunities, are Hang Bac (silver goods, now also filled with gift shops), Hang Ma (religious paper wares, then and now), and Hang Dau (oil products, though currently a center for shoe vendors). Among these timeworn businesses, visitors will also encounter outlet stores selling Gap, Banana Republic, and North Face clothing—some authentic and some fake. The quarter is also packed with hotels, hostels, restaurants, and bars, making it a busy destination at all hours."

⭐️⭐️ 2 out of 5 — Good Location but Needs Major Improvement We stayed here expecting a big hotel based on the photos, but the setup was quite different in person. The lobby is quite small (around 60–80 sqm), and the elevator starts only from the second floor and stops at the sixth, so we still had to take extra stairs to reach our room — not very convenient, especially with luggage. The room itself felt a bit old. Towels were very worn out and definitely need replacement. Breakfast was the most disappointing part — they often ran out of food, and we had to ask several times for refills, which took a while. The staff didn’t seem proactive and were often chatting in the kitchen instead of attending to guests. Plates and glasses were also not properly cleaned. We overheard other guests complaining about the breakfast too. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is excellent — right in the center of the Old Quarter, close to everything. However, neighboring hotels in the same area looked newer and better maintained. Recommendation: If you’re after location, this place is perfect. But if you’re looking for comfort and good service, there are better options nearby.

Fantastic hotel located in the Old Quarter within walking distance to many shops and cafes. Rooms are a good size and clean. The only thing is the beds are very firm, but pillows are nice and comfortable. Overall a wonderful stay - great value and a wonderful breakfast with made to order eggs with a good selection of local and western items. Service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and would come here again.

Excellent Stay at Hanoi Royal Place Hotel 2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a very comfortable stay here. The room was clean and well-maintained, with top-notch cleanliness throughout. The receptionist and staff were all very friendly, always welcoming with a smile and ready to assist. The service was excellent and exceeded my expectations. The hotel’s location is also strategic, making it convenient to explore the city. The only minor downside is having to walk up a few steps before reaching the lift, but it was not a big issue. Alhamdulillah, I feel very fortunate to have stayed at this hotel. Highly recommended!

Location is good to attractions and room was clean. However- the room was very loud, the loudspeaker system is right outside, and our room was off the lobby which was loud with people coming and going at all hours. The breakfast buffet was scare at 8:30, I had to wait (5-19min) on multiple items to be restocked (including coffee) and none of the hot food items were actually hot. Staff was pleasant enough when directly engaged, but overall kind of standoffish. I was glad I was only staying one night. I recommend the JM Marvel down the street- quieter, nicer, wonderful staff, excellent restaurant.

I am so glad we chose this place! The Panoramic King Suite was positively the best experience I could have hoped for. The bed and pillows were heavenly! The rain shower was delightful and the VIEW, windows on 3 sides and being that we were here during the independence celebration, we had a perfect view of the fireworks! Just precious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! 🇻🇳👍🏼🎉🥳

Location cannot be beat. Cannot, I say again cannot. If anything happens go to front desk, they are your advocates in case of chaos. I had an atm take 500 CAD from me. No one could help. I checked out and they saw I was in a not so good mood. They helped 🔎 investigated and gave me some peace of mind. Regardless if money doesn't come back, it was nice to hear a compassionate voice amongst chaos. Rooms are ok. A smell of sewer. Comfy and place to rest. Breakfast buffet is good and made to order. Massage is a 2 min ride paid for by them. ⚠️- only get Thai massage if you want a maximum effort, sore in the 🌄 massage. Its good, but dont be afraid to adjust pressure. They 🐒 crawl on your back and let her buck. Fast 250mbs wifi. Everything nearby. Google maps shows bony markers, but everything is nearby.
