Experienced a bit of luxury and a great night's sleep at the Hanover Inn this weekend.
First, the hotel was just steps away from the Dartmouth Coach bus stop in Hanover, making it super easy to find, and i didn't have to lug my bags very far. Check in took just a few seconds and the gentleman who checked me in was very friendly. The one elevator was a little tricky to find at the end of a winding hallway, but there aren't many floors in the building so it's sufficient.
I walked in the room and was shocked by the size, I'm from Boston, so everything is just a bit smaller. I had a king sized bed, cost with robe and slippers, a long wooden bench that ran half the length of one wall, and a handicapped accessible bathroom. The bed was amazing, I could focus my woke review on how well i slept - I usually don't sleep past 7, but I stayed in bed until almost 9.
The few issues I had during my stay, which weren't really that big a deal... my room key got demagnetized a few minutes before i needed to check out. My patience could barely handle the 5 minute wait for hotel assistance, but they did come pretty quickly. The lighting at the bathroom vanity was dim, so a little tricky getting a close up view of my face. Also, there was no refrigerator in the room. I didn't really need one as food was provided at the conference i attended, but i had some snacks from home that I want able to store. Also, check out takes too long. I would have been fine with just having the bill slipped under my door and only checking with the counter to hold my bag. Instead, each person checking out takes about 5 minutes, and around 12pm, the line doesn't move quickly with only 2 counters. I'd suggest checking out as early as possible to avoid the line, especially if you're in a rush.
Overall, a great stay! I don't go to Dartmouth often, but I'd definitely stay here again if i did.
