Hansa Cafe Bar & Brasserie

We were here only for cocktails. Right off the bat, something wasn't right. The head waitress directed us to a table that then turned out to be for the DJ that would arrive soon. Then they didn't take our orders, but we had to walk to the bar to make cocktail orders. And of course that forgot about our order so after 15 minutes or so we had to ask where our cocktails were My whiskey sour was ok, nothing that would bring me back here for it. My wife's cocktail wasn't shaken properly and wasn't even very good, although it was named their "anniversary cocktail". There are plenty of great cocktail bars in Helsinki. This is not one of them. Edit: I had to check what the gin that was used in the anniversary cocktail. You know, the one which would highlight and celebrate their brand. It was Beefeater. Yes. That's correct. That's a perfect indication of this place. The new "luxury place" in Helsinki.

We have been at this hotel for 4 nights and always have our breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast is amazing and the highlight is the waiter / waitress service especially our waiter SaYam!! Dinner priced very reasonable and tasteful Wine selection is great. I’ll definitely come back to this restaurant and hotel and recommend to all my friends and family!

A wonderful dinner. We had beef tartare with some french fries. Main was white fish which had beautiful sides. Green sald was frsh and tasty. Only to improve would be the dessert side. White chocolate (very smoky flavoured) type of flan was not nice. But, will definitely recommend and will return myself.

I was looking forward to the opening of this historical building complex, hotel so I decided to visit the Hansa Cafe. The atmosphere is nice and I like some of the design elements. I did not try the food and only had cocktails. When you first look on the menu it does not resemble a luxury hotel bar. There is nothing luxury about this menu, it’s a very ordinary cocktail list with a super boring selection. Also Garibaldi is not Caribaldi as it is written on the menu. The cocktail itself was fine, and for the price I guess that’s what you get. However the disappointment is for the service. The bartender carried the glasses touching the upper (rim) of the glass in his hand. No tray, no napkins, coaster under the drink. No snacks with the drink. I was never asked if I wanted sparkling water or still. These things matter. It’s a pity, there are so many bars with this level already. I know the other bar in the hotel will open later this year but now this is the image that customer face, just a boring hotel bar without a soul.

I has a chance to drop by on a Thursday evening and was pleasantly surprised by the live piano music. I felt instantly relaxed and welcome. Table service, the staff was very knowledgeble and polite. It’s nice to have a well trained server that really instantly gave this place that luxury feeling. Most definitely coming back again and trying the food next time.

We were staying at the hotel and had one of the best dinners of our stay in Finland at Hansa. We started with the beef tartare and white fish which were fantastic. We both did the steak tenderloin which was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The creme brûlée at the end was perfection. The breakfast buffet is also amazing. Tons of selection and great service. I do agree with the other reviews that if you’re just looking for a cocktail at the bar, the service can be a bit slow, but the restaurant itself is fantastic.

Brunch was nice overall, but with quite a few lackluster items. _All_ of the pickled vegetables were lame with not enough flavour, and therefor left the vegetable side lacking. There also could have been some more fresh vegetables, for example peppers. Also, there was no plant based yoghurt to be found. The eggs with truffle tasted of truffle in only one small corner. Fish side was tasty, and the mango chia bowl was delicious. Too many of the eggs to odrer had cheese in them and therefore not suitable for someone who likes something a little bit healthier and not heart attack food. Overall a very nice breakfast/brunch if you are OK with eating calory heavy and unhealthy. I loved it, but my husband struggled to find tasty things to eat that wouldn't have a negative effect on his cholesterol. Service was top notch.

VERY BAD service, do not visit! We waited for our order for almost an hour, and still didn’t get what we ordered. An hour’s wait for a couple of simple cocktails (costing 17€ each) is too much for a hotel that claims to be a five star hotel. Never again visiting this bar. There are plenty of nicer bars in the area. Ones that actually bother serving a customer.
