10 Best Coffee Shops in Madrid | Condé Nast Traveler

"The lustrous white wall tiles, industrial light fixtures, and poured concrete floors lend HanSo a distinct Brooklyn feel, as do the bagel sandwiches—a rare sight in Madrid. Owner Nicho cut his teeth up the road at Toma Café, so it's no surprise that his coffee menu hinges on single-origin beans roasted minimally to fruity, tart perfection. Matcha lattés are as delicious here as they are dainty, topped with green-and-white microfoam in the shape of a heart. A welcome departure from the humdrum pastries and sandwiches at most cafés, HanSo's menu features fresh-off-the-iron Belgian waffles topped with fresh fruit, an assortment of bagel sandwiches and melts, and a truly sigh-worthy carrot cake overstuffed with cream-cheese frosting." - Benjamin Kemper

Pleasantly surprised I found this gem so soon! Matcha is great. Place is nice and spacious. Staff were super cool! They’re also one of the best coffee shop this year! If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a collection of awesome coffee shops in Spain. I’m not surprised at all. Definitely add this to your list!

One of my favorite brunch places in Madrid!! We were super lucky because we arrived early and had to wait only 5 minutes to get a table. The tables are very small and it’s a little bit uncomfortable. However, the food is AMAZING! We ordered a waffle, french toast and a sandwich and everything was super pretty and delicious. Very aesthetic place! Also the prices were good. Everything came relatively fast and service was on point. If you are a fan of brunch you should definitely check this place out!

I had the best coconut matcha ever. It was delicious. The waffles were not only good to look at, they were amazing. It’s not that cheap but you pay for the quality.

Food was insane and large portions. I got the turkey egg sandwich and we got a salmon avocado salad. Can’t recommend this enough. Pics say it all. Waffles were yummy.

The breakfast was overall delicious, especially the variety of coffee and drinks. We had sesame, matcha, and velvety lattes – all really nice. The sandwiches were mostly good; one with mushroom and cheese was a bit boring, but the others were great. The salad was also delicious and had a creative touch. What we didn’t like was the unclear ordering process. It wasn’t obvious where to wait or place an order, and the staff didn’t explain it clearly, so we ended up queuing twice. Still, overall a good breakfast spot and we paid for 3 People 45 Euro which is super affordable!

Such a great place to have breakfast or brunch!✨This place got my heart :) They have a great variety of drinks and all kind of cakes and toasts, and all of them are delicious. People are nice too and there is such a good vibe inside the cafe. If you are in Madrid and looking for a cool cafe, I definitely recommend this one 🫶🏼

We stopped by for a cup of coffee in the afternoon. They do have oat milk, coffee quality kind of good but nothing exceptional for me, didn’t see a gluten free option for pastry but my friend ordered a red velvet cake 🍰, creamy and floury. Not my kind. Very alternative and full of people, noisy, but somehow friendly it seems. Apparently people like it very much, there is always a long line to order. I found the place a bit dirty and messy… and that’s why I wouldn’t finally come back… sorry 😞

Absolutely loved my visit to Hanso Café in Madrid! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive—always serving with a smile. Their breakfast menu is simply delightful, with a great variety of fresh, flavorful options to start your day right. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great food and warm vibes. Note: try the Banana Latte 😍😍
