Hanyang Jokbal

Decent jokbal with big portions. I had special half and half jokbal and spicy cold noodle. The jokbal and side dishes tasted authentic, but the noodle was too sweet and spicy. Also, I was expecting buckwheat noodle (Makgooksoo), but it was rather naengmyun. So it was mainly bibim naengmyun with some vegetables. The portions were bigger than I expected. The two menus I ordered could serve at least 3+ people.

Highly recommend smoky-roasted jokbal and spicy jokbal if you can handle spicy. What you can do is order the original or garlic flavor and add extra spicy sauce on the side. We made the mistake and mixing the sauce with the meat and my friends did not have a fun night (the washrooms were occupied for 2 days straight). Rose Rice cake is a must to balance that fatty juicy meat.

(3.5) visited on a friday night and it was packed. soup, pancake, and jokbal were all delicious, though if i were to go again i wouldn't have ordered the garlic jokbal (garlic overpowered for me). seemed to be understaffed when we were there and we had to keep asking for lettuce when we ran out of all of the current lettuce on our table. this was a little bit annoying since there were 4 of us eating and we had to keep flagging someone down to refill the lettuce.

Delicious pork trotters and steamed pork. They have a variety of flavours, and all taste really good. Recommend the roasted jokbal, garlic jokbal, and spicy bossam.

I usually get the spicy braised pork hock here–very tender and flavourful, with a great smoky taste. It’s a bit sweet for my preference, but overall delicious! Also highly recommend the seafood pancake and the pork soup with rice.

The rice balls and jokabl at this Korean restaurant are absolutely delicious! The flavors are rich, and the meat is tender and well-seasoned. However, the restaurant is not very spacious, so you might need to wait for a table during dinner hours. (Parking space is also limited)

A pretty busy korean restaurant. We get there around 6 pm, there's still some tables available. But after 7 pm, it's full. My first time went there, because friends recommend trying this. Overall, the food is good. Extra spicy is really spicy! So if u like it, go for it extra spicy. The portion is big. U can refill the side dishes. Their signature dish is $44/plate and can be mix&match flavors.

I’m very impressed by the food here. Usually, it’s hard to completely remove the smell from pork belly or jokbal. This restaurant made that happens. All the food quality is above average. The rice ball dishes flavor is extremely balanced. The portion is huge. When we asked for takeout, they even gave us extra fresh side dishes. That makes my lunch easier in the next day.
