Loved everything about this place. Wish we had something like it in Australia! Love organic produce from fresh to packaged & here they have the lot. Didn't know where to start looking but ended up enjoying a great organic flat white in the little cafe area. Served by a very friendly barista. It was probably the best we had this trip. Creamy, strong & smooth with perfect flavours. Top marks & thanks.

Lovely place. We need more places like this in NZ! Nice vibe and really appreciate many options available for GF vegans. Thanks!

I’m a regular to Hapi and love their products particularly the chipotle chicken sandwich and açai bowl. I also often pop by for a delicious coffee. Unfortunately the coffee is always hit or miss and every single time I go for a coffee there’s an issue. Today I went to get a takeaway flat white and when I got back to my desk and removed the lid, only half the cup was filled. Very disappointing. They also charge random prices which I assume they can get away with because their menu is confusing. But I order the same exact thing every time - a regular flat white with normal milk - some times they charge me $5 and some times they charge me $6. Once when I was charged $6 I asked about it as the day before I had only paid $5, and the cashier told me the prices had changed. Then I went back for a coffee a few days later and was only charged $5. Maybe the $1 is a “tourist tax” as I don’t have a kiwi accent so perhaps they get away with charging more to people who don’t seem to be from here and don’t know better. And then the baristas that recognise me charge me the local rate of $5??? I have no idea. I tend to pay in cash so perhaps someone is creaming the buck off the top!? Who knows. I just wish it was more consistent because the coffee tastes good and I know they’re using high quality products.

An awesome spot to dine at while visiting Napier recently. The selection of food and drinks are amazing, there is so much to choose from! Came away feeling very satisfied and healthy for it. A busy place with a cool vibe and a friendly helpful team. Thanks guys!

We visited during the busy Art Deco weekend and ordered smoothies. One contained cocoa, banana, and coffee. One of us, who has a mild peanut allergy, experienced a reaction. When we checked the menu, there was no mention of peanuts. It does say to inform about allergies but this is in an unnoticeable font at the bottom of the menu and being a mild allergy we didn’t feel it necessary to mention it for a smoothie that didn’t contain peanuts. We informed a staff member, and received a lecture about not disclosing the allergy—despite the smoothie not listing peanuts. It turns out they use the same blender for a peanut butter containing smoothie, leading to cross-contamination. Just a suggestion: clarify the presence of cross-contamination. It would also be a good idea to even rinse blenders between uses. Otherwise, the smoothies were delicious, we just felt the interaction with the staff wasn’t very pleasant.

Team working lunch today from Hapi was amazing - couple of first timers up from the Wairarapa- couldn’t believe their luck -tempeh sandwiches- gozlemes - kumara salad - all a huge hit - and boosted productivity after lunch that’s for sure!

Food here was amazing! So many vegan options and not too expensive. I got the avocado on toast, I wasn’t a fan of the seeded bread as it was very hard but that’s personal preference. The raw cakes selection was amazing and the mocha cheesecake was delicious. Staff could have been a little friendlier, they were quite aloof and standoffish but overall the place was nice.

Yelp
Just what the doctor ordered. A cafe in a health food coop. Delicious vegan sammie, scone, and coffee. Country music soundtrack somehow was perfect. Great vibe

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a co-op, and Hapi did not disappoint. My partner and I stopped in to check out the set up, and ended up getting a coffee. For the coffee with cream that we ordered, it cost around $6. It's a simple order, but it was delicious! The coffee was full of flavor and they gave us 1/3 of a bottle of fresh cream. I wish that I came in hungrier than I was because I would have loved to try one or more of their homemade goods! They cater to vegan, paleo, and gluten free diets. As a heads up, these goods are not cheap. They range from about $15-25 for a small salad or sandwich. The service was average and the location is great! The shop is fun to explore before or after eating. If I lived in Napier, I would absolutely treat myself to this more often.

Yelp
Great coffee, great food and a great location. As a Kiwi now living overseas, the cafe culture in NZ is unmatched.

Yelp
Hapī is WOW. Their ethos "you are what you eat" and that "physical and mental wellbeing is a true reflection of how you fuel your body" rings true to my New Year's Resolution for this year, so I was really excited to check out this cute cafe, while on holiday in Napier. At Hapī, their food is plant based, full of nutrients and very delicious. If you are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free or just love eating one or all of the above, then Hapī is your place! Their menu is extensive - for such a small cafe, they sure have a range of everything on offer. Their cabinet display is also one of the best I have seen in New Zealand, with all the food well presented and the staff continuously preparing all the goodies just behind the counter. I could literally stand there for ages, watching them make sandwiches! For breakfast, there are Acai and raw granola bowls, tofu scramble, omelettes and eggs your way on their beautiful paleo bread.  For lunch, you can choose between a myriad of things - fresh sandwiches, wraps, salads, tacos, nachos, frittata, zucchini noodles, and vegan curry.  Last but not least, sweet treats and desserts! They have raw slices, Paleo cake, bliss balls, tarts, cheesecake and dairy-free Cocowhip ice cream. Plus a huge range of drinks - smoothies, cold pressed juices, fresh nut mylks, Hawthorne coffee, organic teas, superfood hot chocolates (ooooh) and Hapī chai. We visited Hapī on three different occasions and enjoyed the following: Vegan Taco ($7), Raw Zucchini Noodles ($10), Raw Chili Nachos ($12) and Raw Vegan Wrap ($10). The highlights were the Vegan Taco - spicy, but delicious, and the Raw Vegan Wrap - who knew raw food could taste so good?!?! The other dishes we tried were tasty, plus are served on compostable plates/in containers, so they're perfect for takeaway (picnic by the beach!) and friendly to the environment.  But, the thing I loved most about Hapī was its prices. Up here in Auckland, we pay a bit for raw vegan food, but Hapi is really affordable and knowing you were still getting a healthy, wholesome and filling breakfast or lunch is awesome. The food, service and atmosphere at Hapī is spot on. If I lived in Hawke's Bay, it would be my go-to! Highly recommend. Note: If you can't make it to their cafe in Napier, every Sunday, Hapī have a stand at the Hawke's Bay Farmers Market where you can sample their nut mylks, cheese and Paleo bread, and purchase raw treats, slices and kimchi.

Yelp
I happened upon Hapi by chance - and was impressed by the array of vegan options. "Our tempeh sandwich is kind of famous," I was told so I picked up one and brought it with me to eat later. It was so delicious. All the food there was very fresh and I only regret that I wasn't around long enough to try more of their items. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was excited for a healthy, whole food lunch at Hapi. I arrived and the restaurant was extremely chaotic and crowded. I immediately felt claustrophobic. I intended to order something out of the cabinet, but they only had 4 options and a melted cake. Nothing looked appetizing so I decided to go somewhere else. Disappointing because I was looking forward to Hapi!
