Happy Bakery

Best egg tart we have had during our Hong Kong trip. The cookie base was so buttery and it even taste good after 10 hours. Imagine how amazing it will be when it comes right off the oven.

Missed their pastry. Revisiting this bakery after about 9 years (last trip to HK). Noticed that they had renovated the shop. The chicken pie and egg tart were still good. Bought many items back to our accommodation. Service was great. The yam mochi milk was nice too!

While taking a walk down this street, we came across Happy Bakery. The one food I did not taste in Hong Kong during my stay was egg tarts and their tarts were glowing like golden eggs on the window display. Since we are tourists we were kind of lost and the lady at the counter was such a darling she helped my confused husband immediately. We fell in love with the egg tarts and pineapple buns. Next visit to Hong Kong I am booking a stay close to the bakery 😁

Great place to stop in quickly. The shop is clean and organized. Pineapple bun was soft and had a good crust. There were two types of egg tarts- cookie shell and the flaky crust. I opted for the flaky crust and was pleasantly surprised that they were in a heated case. They also had a deal for buying a coffee from their automated espresso machine for a combo price.

Please make sure you are ready for a negative interaction with the cash staff Its so unbelievably funny that there are staff that are rude to the people that are feeding their mouths. I'm providing you business, i don't expect or ask to be adorned, i'd be more than okay with a neutral attitude but even that is lacking As someone who doesn't really care or take things too seriously when it comes to customer interaction or service, i'm beyond impressed by how easily the short haired lady can piss me off each time i go there😭, i'm always going back for the cocktail buns because of how good they are. The bakery aspect is really good, but the "happy" from their shop name is definitely something that's missing There is also another up and coming contender which is almost or just as bad as the short haired lady, please be wary that there is not only one rude staff but two 😉

They have very good HongKong bread and pastries, particularly the crusty egg custard tart, the pineapple bun with butter and the barbecue pork bun. The bakery is neat and clean. We will come back for more bread

Old school institution and been 7 years since I was last in Hong Kong. The place is now renovated and modern looking. That said, the egg tart was still yummy. Eggy, soft filling with a warm, melt in your mouth pastry

Delicious. Went around wanchai and picked pineapple buns, char sui buns and egg tarts from ABC, Pak see kut and from happy cake. Apart from the pineapple bun (I preferred Pat See Kut), Happy cake shop’s items were so yummy. The char sui bun was really well filled and the bun was perfect. A must try. The egg tart was outstanding (personal preference the classic one than the cookie base one although very nice). Tried also from them the century egg one, the lotus and egg yolk one, the red bean bun and the lotus one, all very nice. Do go and try everything it’s very yummy and cheap. Cash only for the moment. No English description so hoping that google translate did a good job!!
