Happy Campers

Our rental van was perfect for our 10th anniversary getaway! Happy campers might not be the cheapest rental agency in the country, but we were quite satisfied with the van that we rented from them and the amenities it included. We will definitely be checking with them again if we ever come back to Iceland!

Our vehicle was exactly what we needed on our trip to Iceland! We experienced it ALL! Rain, wind, northern lights, waterfalls, more wind and rain but safe inside our Happy Camper 3!! The supplies were great, duvets and sleeping bags so comfy and I would definitely recommend Happy Campers for anyone wanting to see as much of Iceland on your holiday as you can. I had a great experience with Happy Campers. They were very direct and hassle-free. Marina and Ola were very nice and quick with the check in/out process. The shuttle to/from the airport was very convenient, and a short ride to their facility. We rented the Happy 1 EX Auto, which was a bit “cozy”, but just the right size for 2 of us visiting in the early winter. I’m very glad they had just switched over to the studded winter tires, which were a huge help on icy and snowy roads. They also had plenty of extra blankets which I recommend stocking up on in the winter. Our van had the essentials, listed in their website, but was pretty bare-bones. We could have used a few more hooks or shelves, but we made it work no problem. Overall this was a very budget-friendly and memorable option to visit many parts of Iceland.

Wow! Me and my wife rented a camper van for 8 days. What a fantastic trip. I was a little anxious before we started the journey - would it be easy to find fuel? Could we find campsites? Food? No need to worry about any of this. There are lots of towns and villages around the island and most all have services such as fuel stations, grocery stores, restaurants, campsites and WC's. We bought food to cook in the van at night. The refrigerator kept the food safe while we drove and explored. For breakfast we would have something simple in the van and lunch would be at a local pub or restaurant. There are so many incredible things to see that I wish i could have stayed longer than 8 days! Waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, parks, mountains and canyons everywhere. Last, I want to mention how helpful the staff at Happy Campers was. From the airport pick up, check in, check out, to drop off at our hotel, everyone was eager to assist and friendly. This was a great experience start to finish.

Had a wonderful time travelling through Iceland in my Happy 1 camper. The van has everything you need to be comfortable especially the heater on cold evenings. From the moment I arrived to the moment I dropped my van off the Happy Camper team were friendly and professional. Special mentions to both Eliska and Marina who I had dealings with on arrival and on departure with big smiles. Already planning my next trip to this wonderful country and I would definitely use this company again.

Our trip with Happy Camper, from August 28 to September 13, was truly extraordinary for my little family. We had an amazing experience with Happy Campers, everything was smooth and easy from start to finish. Favorite spot: The Highlands, without a doubt! nice river crossings and great landscape away from the touristy spots. Camping tip: Take the barbecue next time, we loved cooking outdoors.
