😊: Willke and Jerry were the best hosts and run their family business with the utmost pride and attention to detail. The full board food was so good, made with love, and was fresh and the most tasty we have had in Suluwasei. A great romantic spot or family holiday. Accomodation was clean and comfortable with lovely views out over the lagoon. I completed my Advanced PADI dive cert here and the instructor was great fun and very reassuring. Largest turtles I’ve ever seen gliding around your and beautiful Eagle Rays. Much cheaper and easier to complete here than at home, with the coral reef on your doorstep. The location was pretty ideal as it’s out of the town centre but still very close, providing a quiet nights sleep and privacy. Nothing was an issue and they accommodated any requests including sourcing a specific beer from the mainland! Exactly the small scale and laid back bungalow resort experience we were looking for !! Very good value for the price. My husband and I stayed 6 nights, and completed our PADI Advanced course. The diving experience was perfect. Willeke and Jerry are extremely welcoming and make all guests feel at home. The meals are freshly cooked every day — no choice but they accommodate for dietary restrictions with great veggie versions — congratulations to the two wonderful cooks! All in all I strongly recommend staying at Happy Gecko for anyone wishing to enjoy Bunaken in a relaxed and laid back atmosphere!

We spent 6 days here with my wife.|The diving on the reef is something different. We passed the Padi advanced level. At every dive we saw numerous turtles and countless fish swimming in pristine corals.|Willeke the owner is super friendly and always keen to tell stories and share info about Sulawesi and her personal story from the Netherlands to Bunaken. And the food is just amazing. Fresh and different every day.

😊: Amazingly quiet and tucked away in the heart of the most bio-active lagoons that I'd ever had the privilege of visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed the dives with Jimmy, our guide, and the incredible snorkeling that was just 150m away (no current and totally swim-able). Spacious, clean villas. The common area was homely yet it boasts picturesque views to the lagoon and a small mangrove outcrop. Food's great, we were treated to local dishes, usually a fish + veggie + fruit platter for lunch & dinner, while there's a good set of options for breakfast (pancakes; toast; nasi goreng; mee goreng). One thing I truly appreciated was how easy it was to communicate with the hosts, who arranged our dives and transfers professionally and patiently. 3 nights booked, stayed for 10 nights. Happy Gecko is a small-scaled, basic and clean accomodation with a spacious bungalow with balcony. The bathroom is spacious and functional. What made the accomodation great for us is the big hospitality of the whole team, the great divemasters and delicious food. The private balcony and common area are great for relaxing. We felt very welcoming and at ease. Definitely recommended! 😎

😊: Good and plentiful Indonesian food including lots of sambal and real coffee! Great views of the bay. Good communication from the owner and staff. If you are going to dive then it’s also good to know the dive masters are experienced and professional - equipment is good quality and in good condition. Very chilled diving experience all round with lots to see..

We had the most wonderful time at Happy Gecko Resort, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome by the entire team. The staff is genuinely kind and attentive, and Willeke was absolutely fantastic. We were able to contact her before our stay, and she made sure our transfer was perfectly arranged, ensuring we had everything we needed, including great tips on what to do on the island.||||The resort itself is gorgeous – peaceful, with beautiful views from the bungalows. Not only is the setting stunning, but it also has a fantastic reef right off the shore, perfect for snorkeling. You can also rent a motorbike to visit the two nearby towns, which was a fun way to explore more of the area. Willeke made it super easy to arrange. The food was another highlight – every meal was fresh, delicious, and there was always more than enough!||||We also did two diving courses while we were there, and it was perfect. Being the only two divers with our instructor meant we got personalized attention and really enjoyed the experience. The dive team and boat crew were professional, always very friendly and helpful, and made us feel totally at ease.||||Overall, it was an amazing experience. The staff, the food, the diving, and the beautiful island made this stay so special. We felt completely welcome here and definitely plan to return!

Lovely owners and lovely staff in Kitchen and dive boat. Can Not recommend it enough. I mean yeah no hot water and no aircon. But you know that when booking i guess. Besides that this Place is absolutely great. Ah and the food is very delicios
