I really wanted to like this place — cute cafes, decent vibe, and some people seem to enjoy the drinks. But after several visits across a few locations, I’ve honestly stopped going altogether. First, the coffee isn’t consistently great compared to other local roasters in Ottawa — I’ve had better from small spots like Equator or Little Victories. Some days it’s okay, other days it’s just… average at best. What’s really turned me off is the culture around the business. The CEO — who’s publicly made comments pushing for policies like rigid return-to-office mandates so that coffee shops “get more customers” — strikes me as completely out of touch with the values of a community-oriented local café. Hearing a leader imply people should be forced into office culture for the sake of his bottom line felt really unethical and disrespectful of customers and workers alike. On top of that, I’ve experienced hit-or-miss service depending on the location, and some friends who worked there have complained about poor communication from management and a challenging workplace environment. Overall — friendly folks behind the counter sometimes, but inconsistent drinks and a leadership attitude that comes off as self-serving make this a place I no longer choose. I’d rather spend my coffee money supporting other local shops that actually care about community and staff wellbeing. — Not recommended.

Great locally-owned coffee shop in an area that is sorely lacking independent coffee places... all that's nearby is Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Tons of seating as it's located in the lobby of a condo tower. Spacious yet cozy. My one gripe is as follows: there is NO free parking nearby, and it's not in a pedestrian-friendly area. Gemini towers offers 30 minutes of free parking before you have to pay. Please please Happy Goat Coffee, consider validating parking for your customers even if it's to extend the free Gemini parking to one hour. Always makes me a bit reticent to visit when I know I have to pay for coffee AND pay for parking.

Tucked inside a condominium complex yet fully open to the public, it features a bright, modern interior with a subtle touch of luxury. Service was fast, efficient, and no-nonsense — ideal for a quick morning coffee or a focused work session. ⸻ Coffee Quality I ordered a cappuccino with lactose-free milk. • Espresso: Bold and full-bodied • Milk Texture: Smooth and well-steamed • Beans: Classic Happy Goat roast The espresso slightly overpowered the milk, resulting in a stronger cup than a traditional cappuccino. That said, the flavor was excellent, and the foam had a light, meringue-like texture. Super good quality, very comfy. Peak relaxation. Best café I been to. Perfect atmosphere! I usually dislike sandwiches but this was very very good, never would’ve guessed it’s not a high-end restaurants sandwich. I also like the latte style a lot. The main focus is flavour. I work at a different coffee shop & we put emphasis on latte art, which is more stressful for workers and takes focus away from the taste. Even without the latte art , this latte looks cuter in a way, more simple and fluffy. Less intense. Not ridiculously busy either, you can catch a well needed break. Would love to study here if I lived near. Really sweet place to catch up with loved ones. Probably now my go to café location. I’ve been at the one in Rideau but this location is best package. The service could’ve been a bit more up beat and more clear. But, it’s more of a relaxed vibe this way in a sense :) None the less, I liked the slow easy pace of the customer service at Happy Goat :) More authentic in a way. Thank you. So used to my café, I really wanted to give praise to one really done right.

The coffee tasted like garbage and one of the employees who seemed like he could be the owner or manager seems pretty disgruntled. The extra star is only for the seating area, it’s very nice and spacious, but located in the lobby of an apartment building so there tends to be a lot of noise from elevators, dogs barking and maintenance, and is fairly cold as well.

I visited this location hoping to support a local business, but the experience was unfortunately disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the staff member (a shorter female) I interacted with seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. When I asked a simple question about parking, the response felt curt. After ordering, our hot drinks were only lukewarm. I normally order the same drinks all the time, and both were definitely not hot. When I politely asked if they could be reheated, I was told this was their “normal temperature” and that they would remake them this time, but that I should ask for extra hot next time so the drink wouldn’t be wasted, which came across as dismissive. They did remake the drinks, but both were made incorrectly. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming, which was disappointing since I genuinely wanted to support a local coffee shop.

I typically like Happy Goat but this location felt quite …cold. It’s a big open space in a building lobby. Smoothies are $14. Parking is paid at 4.5$ for 30 mins. Not the coffee shop vibe I’m looking for. Staff were very friendly though.

Well brewed coffee - magnificent customer service. Suitable for students as well with several study - work spots. You must pay for parking if ur driving and not many spots are usually available.
